people that read ajin should read birdmen
#theyre very similar#but bm is really enjoyable on a character level especially since most of the protags are#ages 14-16#and its themes of loneliness responsibility and change in a world#the key difference between the two is that ajin is about humans that turn out to be immortal with a sort of 'puppet' while birdmen#is a story about humans being turned into a new species (while still being able to pass off as human)#both deal a lot with government/new species relations#ajin feels more personal in terms of revolution while birdmen focuses on the whole#the protags are similar too! both are pessimistic and insanely cunning#but their arcs diverge-one goes from fake conformity to complete isolation while the other goes from isolation to community#as he makes friends and learns slowly about the role he has to quickly take on for the better of his world#(also for my fellow lgbts out here theres a canon trans woman and the protag can easily be interpreted as mlm)#ok rant over [slinks into the abyss]#LAST NOTE: IF YOU DO READ BM PLS TALK TO ME ABT IT OVER AT BIRD-PUN
