“It does help because now I’m thinking, maybe if you give her a bouquet of flowers she might think you’re into her just as much as she’s into you. Elliot groaned a little, slotting a stem of baby's breath back into its original bunch with a little too much force. "I don't see how context is gonna help me put together a bouquet," she muttered, "but one, girl I met on Hinge, and two, it's only happened the one time, but Eric the doorman hates me now so it's high priority that it doesn't happen again."

“Ah, yeah. You it dries fast but maybe not that fast.” Kalani shook his head in amusement, finding it funnier than it should be. “Hey, that could be arranged!” He was teasing and it wasn’t like Kalani drank often, but he’d been more often now that he’d lost so much. It was hard not to want to numb that pain that filled the absence of his wife and brother, but he was trying to fill it with writing stories more than alcohol. “It’ll be gone in a few days, don’t worry.”

“No! Not a kid, and it was something before I rolled my sleeve down.” Or walked into a bush or leaned against a street lamp, or anything Declan could have done to not let it dry completely. It’s even faded by his wrist when he washed his hands too soon. Now that his thinks about it, he saw the stain on his sleeve when it pulled inside out as he took it off to toss into his laundry.

But if Declan were honest, he’d so let Kenzie go at his arm with some Henna stain.

“If I drank enough already today, I’d go down to the shop to get it permanently tattooed,” he jokes. “Keep laughing, at least it’s giving you some sorta entertainment.”

Honestly, I think I smell like coffee all the time because I drink it so much. I think it's a nice smell to be associated with, so I'd say that.

Sunny and warm. But sometimes it is nice to have rainy days. Those are the best to sit inside and read all day.

Kalani looked up from the food table and beamed at the sight of his neighbor. “Well you look fantastic!” He complimented and stepped closer. Hearing her own compliments towards him, he looked down and smoothed out the jacket of his suit. “Purples a good color on me, isn’t it?” He let out a laugh and shook his head. “Having fun?”

Mei smiled when she saw her neighbor (kind of hard not to spot him, really) and she immediately headed over to him, giving him a playful little tap on the arm to get his attention. "Look at you all dressed up and fancy."

Kalani was busy writing away in his notepad as he’d had an idea for the novel he was working on. Obviously it was completely centered around prom, his first try at a YA novel. He hadn’t realized how much attention he may have been attracting until the woman spoke.

“Oh.. you know. I was just working on…” He spotted the food table next to him and blurted out, “a recipe. It just came to me all the sudden”. Bad liar. Always a bad liar.

Kalani was excited to go to prom with another writer, but he hadn’t anticipated how much harder it would be to sneak away and take notes for his novel he wanted to write. Inspiration seemed to strike him at the worst possible times, and he’d have to step away and jot down his ideas in his notebook as fast as possible.

Thankfully he hadn’t raised any brows yet, but when he walked back to his date, she asked that question and he realized he’d have to think of a lie quickly.

“Oh, I was just… getting us drinks.” He was an awful liar and he had no idea how he kept his pen name a secret all these years. He didn’t have drinks in his hands so he let out a soft chuckle and shook his head. “I was thirsty.”

Juno had been walking around most of the night trying to get a few sightings to publish. There were a couple couples she hadn’t anticipated and that had her leaving notes and behind to take sneaky photos. She started to walk back to where she had left Kalani and raised a brown when she saw him come back too from somewhere. “ where were you earlier ?” She asked as she finished taking her notes on her phone

Reading or writing? Why?

Writing, of course. Why wouldn't I choose-- I mean, there's no particular reason to choose writing, I just enjoy it. A lot. It's cathartic.

Tea, the ocean, going for walks. Those things help a lot.

Kalani was standing in the corner of the gym with a pen and notepad in his hand as he scribbled down a few ideas for a story he was thinking about writing pertaining to prom. He figured the prom would give some great inspo for it and he already had character ideas brewing in his head. After scribbling down his last idea, he looked up and was about to head back to his date when he spotted his step-niece.

“I’m not either! I’m gonna have to find someone who knows. Maybe someone at the botanical gardens? Or just the flower shop? I don’t know, all I know about flowers is they’re nice to look at.”

“I just need to hire someone to put flowers out here and take care of them, make it all look nice.”

"You know, I'm not sure," he admits with a shrug. "I know I see them growing everywhere in LA all year but, like... I don't know when they're being planted.
