CHAPTER TWO: Devshayani Ekadashi
July 6th, 2025.
A bright, relentless summer morning.
The air smells like incense, mango leaves, and sweat.
Your cotton kurta clings to your back. The plate in your hand—a simple thali with flowers, tulsi leaves , rice, camphor—rattles slightly as you shift your weight.
You're at the temple. So is everyone else.
It’s Devshayani Ekadashi—the day Lord Vishnu sleeps.
The day the Preserver closes his eyes.
The day the gods adjust their duties, passing around the weight of the world like a warm, living thing.
The idol inside is stunning. Vishnu reclines on Sheshnag, eternal and unbothered. Lakshmi sits beside him with that soft, impossibly kind smile.
The priests chant. Bells ring. A hundred hands lift in a hundred prayers.
You’re holding your thali.
You’re chanting too.
You're a speck in the crowd.
And for the most part, you believe.
But today, something itches at the base of your spine.
You turn to your mother and ask,
"If Vishnu is eternal... why does he need to sleep?"
She smiles, patient and full of faith.
"Even eternals must rest," she says.
"Sleep is not weakness. It’s a return. He carries all of this—" her hand gestures wide, "—and when it grows too heavy, he lets the others help. He collects himself again. And then he wakes."
It’s beautiful, really.
Even you agree.
And yet—
When you turn back to the idol,
just for a second,
a breath,
a blink—
something shifts.
The air stills.
Not dramatically. Not even enough to make anyone notice. But you feel it.
As if something—
somewhere—
stopped humming.
Just for a moment.
Then the world exhales again. The priest lifts the bell. The chant resumes. Aarti flames flicker.
And you forget. You don’t say anything. You think maybe you imagined it. Maybe it was just the heat. Maybe it was just a moment.
But somewhere,
in the deep folds of creation,
the Weaver blinked.
A star dimmed, just slightly.
The hum faltered.
Its fingers paused, mid-thread.
Because someone- a very small someone - just asked a question.
And the Weaver?
It loves questions.
Because that is how every story begins.

Originally this was gonna be Hogarths lol but then I realized it suited her way more. Also this is inspired by a wooden dollhouse I used to have, I feel like fairies would move into those :>

CHAPTER ONE - The Weaver
It's Silent.
Not the kind that comes from the absence of sound.
The kind that comes before sound.
Before time.
Before the concept of “before.”
In that silence, there is a hum.
You can’t hear it.
You shouldn’t.
But it is there.
It slips through galaxies like wind through a child’s fingers—playful, accidental, dangerous.
It folds in and out of stars, tracing the outline of black holes with something that feels like joy. Winding around moons.
Curling into the folds of newborn dimensions like a sleeping god.
It rides the skin of the cosmos like it belongs there (It does.)
You may think the universe is quiet.
You may think you are safe.
But something curious is watching.
And it is humming.
You won’t feel it at first. Not in your ears. But maybe in your spine. Maybe in your breath. Maybe in the moments between your thoughts, Where you are most alone, And most yours. Until you aren’t.
You may even call this peace or divine.
But that would be a mistake.
Because the hum belongs to something that is not god.
And not devil.
It is the Weaver.
Not He. Not She. Not It, even. Just—the Weaver.
Endlessly curious. Endlessly patient. Endlessly threading.
It made you.
Not because it loves you. Not even because it needed you. But because it wondered what you might become.
And it doesn’t want your soul.
It wants your thread.
The one thing that makes you you.
And it will take it with a smile.
Because the Weaver is not kind.
It is not cruel. It is curious.
And curiosity always ends with breaking something open.
One day, it will unmake you.
Not out of malice.
But curiosity.
Because what is devotion, If not a thread waiting to be pulled?
-- This is not the beginning.
This is the part where you begin to notice.

More Sherlock & Co. fanart and head canon!
Sherlock loves when john gets in on the deductions. So much so that, on occasion, Sherlock will fail to actually hear his companions deductions as he is to busy swooning over him.

exactly and the whole perverted mindset goes back to the colonial times, hindu women didn't used to cover every single piece of their body as they weren't sexulaised before.
And Devi maa was worshipped in her true form ( her ugra Swaroop where she's usually portrayed naked) because she's Shakti, pure energy, every single element of nature, she's time personified, can a saree contain her?
The new more subdued, more "household friendly" version of her is now more popularized because the previous leaders didn't want to "offend" or "alienate" The British.
The whole narrative of binding women to "holy" appearance is simply just a pretence brought forward by the initial patriarchal and misogyny of the colonial times.
"This girl in short clothes is ruining Hindu sanskriti!"
*is shown a picture of devi maa in ancient Indian clothes*
"Haa! So you think you are a devi now? You can never be her!"
Blud, I know that. I cannot be her, it feels blasphemous to me to even say that I am even an iota of her.
The point is that if the one who is the embodiment of Dharma, the one who came to establish Dharma on Earth did contrary to what you are saying, then you what you say is not part of the Dharma, a point that is very clearly understood if you are not deflecting.

you seem like a cool person! I could never deduce like you do. I wonder what you can know only by this anonymous ask, though.
Your message is short, borderline minimalist, but deliberately so. It’s bait, an invitation for me to show off, which means you’re both curious and a little mischievous. You chose to stay anonymous ; classic arm’s length engagement, suggesting one of two things: you either don’t want your public persona associated with this curiosity or you enjoy the cloak-and-dagger vibe.
“You seem like a cool person”. That’s a compliment, but vague. You chose “cool” because it’s neutral-positive, safe. You avoided “smart” or “intimidating” because those are specific and reveal more about your perspective of me. Translation: you don’t want to reveal too much about how you actually perceive me. That suggests someone socially aware, careful not to overstep. Polite, possibly introverted, maybe even conflict-avoidant.
You admire “deducing,” which means you value intelligence, pattern recognition, and maybe even envy it. Not because you lack it, but because you’re unsure whether you’d be taken seriously if you tried. That one word, “never,” is dramatic compared to your somewhat vague compliment. Either habitual humility or social armour; you want me to disagree with you and say you totally could, which is a subtle validation request. And yes, you totally can :D
“I wonder what you can know only by this anonymous ask” is a challenge disguised as curiosity. You’re basically testing: Are you really as sharp as you look, or just posturing? That’s low-key competitive.
Likely profile? You stay safe (anonymous) but initiate interaction (risk-tolerant when stakes are controlled). You like testing systems, people, and boundaries—probably watch detective shows or read personality theories. You worded it cleanly, no slang, no casual punctuation, which tells me you care how you present, even when “anonymous.” That’s effort most don’t bother with. Probably introverted, online a lot. Hence comfortable enough with anonymous messaging but you also want connection.
You weren’t rushed. There’s no typos, no double spaces, no erratic capitalization suggests a calm, deliberate mindset. No emojis, no “lol,” no filler. That’s restraint, which tells me you wanted this to be taken seriously. Probably a faint buzz of adrenaline when you hit “send” though, because you know you’re inviting vulnerability under the illusion of anonymity.
The way you write rules out very young teens (no chaotic texting energy, no “omg u deduce so good lmao”), but also lacks older, formal phrasing. Feels like late teens to mid-20s—someone who’s been online enough to know how words shape perception, but still youthful enough to play.
This wasn’t just “wondering what I can deduce.” This was about you being deduced; seeing yourself reflected back without revealing yourself. Which means, in a way, you don’t just admire deduction, but you want to be seen, but safely, behind one-way glass. Hence your 'anonymous' ask.
So yes, anonymous really doesn't help. And I know you won't like or reblog this post because then you won't really be anonymous :D
