Hey!

This blog isn’t dead! I’ve just been having a really rough year...again. Eesh.

I’ve at least moved back home with mom and my dad is sober and out of rehab, which is good news. I’m currently in therapy once a week and trying to get my medication adjusted to treat some really awful insomnia.

Anyway, the askbox is empty, but it is open! Feel free to send in questions or what have you. I’ll try and put some things in there myself to get things moving again.

This is a Koopalings centric askblog, for an AU in which the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms have made peace and are now allies. Ludwig is considered the “main protagonist” of the blog.

Run by Lief, aka @axemranger! This blog is mostly focused on its own internal plot, but it will do very light interactions with other blogs as well.

so I don’t know how quickly I’ll have it open, but I am gonna go ahead and remake my koopalings blog. It’s gonna be a little less interactive than I am here and will focus a little more on its own internal story, but I’ll do some one off interactions for asks and such here and there.

Update from Lief!

I’m settling in nicely in my new home. Dad’s…still on his bullshit, but he seems to be at least TRYING to make it longer between drinking binges, so that’s something I guess?

I have a bed now- it’s a double size air mattress, but that’s plenty enough, and i picked up some more clothes and my bedroom fan at the house today. 

It’s been busier, though. I have a 13yo cousin who wants me to spend some time with him pretty often and I don’t mind that, but it does mean I’m online less. Still, I’m getting worn out so I’ll probably ask him that we start doing more lowkey just hanging out in each other’s presence stuff!

Askbox is open still, but just a reminder I may be less consistent in answer timing for a while! Thanks for all the encouragement and patience while my family goes through this.

This is kind of a heavy update, but I just want to let you all know my activity may be less consistent for the forseeable future.

My mom and I got fed up with my dad’s binge drinking and moved out today in the middle of one of his boozings. It’s…I’m honestly relieved? I feel guilty about that, but really I’m just. So glad to finally be away from him.

It’s really hard on my mom emotionally though, and it will take us both some time to get used to living on the basement floor of my aunt and uncle’s home. Theres plenty enough space to get by, but it’s still so different from what we’re used to.

Our pets are safe and with us as well, and I’ll be drawing whenever I Feel up to it, but there will certainly NOT be a schedule for a while as I adjust to my new living situation. Thanks for your understanding.

I seem to have some new followers so hi! Here’s an about me for those not familiar:

Name/Nickname: Soren, but I prefer only good friends call me that. Unless I’ve given you permission, please call me by my nickname, Lief.

Age: 27 years old!

Gender/pronouns: I’m a binary trans man and prefer he/him pretty exclusively.

Orientation: bisexual babeyyy I guess I tend to lean a little more towards girls though.

Any other askblogs?: Not right now. Until spring at least I want to focus on this one and get back into the swing of things. I may reboot my koopalings askblog in march(at the earliest) if I feel up to it. We’ll see what the future holds!

Favorite mario Brother: I love them both, but I guess I favor Luigi because I relate to his anxiety lmao

Health Stuff: Because it can sometimes get in the way of my posting  regularly, my health conditions are as follows: -Severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD  -Moderate agoraphobia -Gastrointestinal Eosiniphilia. This is a chronic gastric condition that gives me chronic pain and nausea and reacts very strongly to stress and other factors. Think of it as a watered down immune disorder. TL;DR I’m always in a little pain, and sick more often than not.

Triggers: I try to tag anything that could be triggering. If I miss something, just let me know! My own triggers are for detailed instances of abuse, self harm or suicide. Please tag them for my blacklist if we are mutuals! Thank you for your consideration.

Askblog Tips From A Veteran

Want to make an askblog? Great! Here’s some quick tips from me- someone who’s been doing them for a long time.

It’s not a competition- This is a passion project. Don’t worry about being the most popular or widespread. Worry about having fun telling your story and playing with your characters. It’s okay to want some validation and attention- just don’t let that be your primary focus. And definitely don’t make being the most popular or first choice of other people your main priority, or you will never be happy.

You can send yourself asks! If you’re having trouble getting attention or people aren’t asking about the things you really wanna focus on, it’s okay to send yourself a couple of anons so that you can make some content. Sending yourself story or character focused questions is NOT bad form, it’s especially encouraged if you’ve hit a quiet period or are a new blog. It will help other people know what to ask about!

Any art or no art, it’s all fine- If your art is traditional and uploaded by cellphone camera that’s fine. If your art is digital that’s fine. If your blog has almost NO art and is mostly writing focused? That’s also fine. Like I said- this is for fun, and you should run your askblog in the way that is most fun for you.

Communicate with other muns- This applies mostly to ooc interactions with other people. If somebody upsets you or makes you uncomfortable, please be honest with them and bring it up in private. Vaguing doesn’t help anybody, and sometimes people don’t know they’ve done anything wrong. Please be clear and honest as much as you can, and also be kind as much as you can.

Change is fine- If you want to change the way you draw, add or remove muses from your blog, etc, that’s fine. Try to communicate about it ahead of time so your followers know what’s going on, and try not to do things TOO much on a whim- but at the end of the day it’s your blog. Do what is most comfortable and fun for you as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone

Tag stuff- You don’t need fancy tags,  but having a simple tag for ic vs ooc and for each muse so people can find specific content is a  good idea. It also makes organization and archiving much easier.

That’s about it. None of this is the be-all-end-all of advice, but it does give some tips that have been helpful for me in the past. Happy blogging!
