Is B.Ed. Compulsory for Teachers
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is currently a 2-year course that any individual can pursue after completing graduation. Graduation makes one knowledgeable in particular stream/subjects but through B.Ed. he/she is expected to learn the skills and tools required to become a teacher of that subject. It is easier to learn a subject yourself, but very difficult to teach it to 30 students.
For all practical purposes B.Ed. is compulsory to teach at any level in school, be it government or private. The govt. had passed a bill in 2017 to allow time to all teachers till 2019 (currently teaching in various schools) to complete B.Ed. if they did not have it.
Many states have already implemented the norm and made B.Ed. compulsory for existing teachers to continue teaching. For example in Chattisgarh, teachers were allowed to pursue the course part-time or full-time from any B.Ed. college in Chattisgarh. Though state capitals have always had B.Ed colleges and a B.Ed. college in Ranchi is not difficult to find, it was difficult for teachers from other towns to travel to these colleges. Universities like Dr. C.V. Raman University (CVRU) decided to establish B.Ed. colleges in their non-capital campuses like in Bilaspur and provided the opportunity to teachers and new aspirants from these areas to complete their B.Ed. course.
But why was it made compulsory?
In 2017, discussing the bill in Lok Sabha, the then Minister for Education, Prakash Jadavkar had presented some hard-hitting statistics to prove the point. There were almost 5-6 lakh private school teachers and 2.5 lakh govt. school teachers who lacked any formal training in teaching. There were another 1.5 lakh who had completed only 1-year training. And so the total was almost 11 lakh teachers teaching across India without any proper qualification.
Many steps were taken to make it easy for teachers to complete the course. New colleges were recognized, distance education and part-time B.Ed. courses were introduced and innovative methods like teaching through DTH TV were also planned.
Update to B.Ed. course?
Currently B.Ed. cannot be pursued together with an undergraduate course, but the UGC is soon planning to scrap the 2-year B.Ed. in favor of integrated 4 year course B.A-B.Ed. or B.Sc.-B.Ed. which students will be able to opt for immediately after 12th. Many feel it is a good way to avoid teaching to be the last career choice people make. Making it a 4-year undergraduate course immediately after schooling will also save 1 year for aspirants. Previously they had to spend 5 years (3 years graduation + 2 years B.Ed.) before becoming teachers.
This update is receiving mixed reactions from students and faculty alike. Some feel 12th board is too early to expect students to choose teaching as a career. Others feel it will definitely help improve the quality of teachers. Colleges like the Faculty of Education at CVRU (Dr. C.V. Raman Institute of Science & Technology) are confident that they can cater to the changed format if it get implemented. “We already have excellent faculty for the B.A. and B.Sc. courses in our university. It will not be difficult to scale up to the new curriculum of 4-year integrated course whenever it gets implemented.”

How BCA can increase your job prospects
What is the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)?
BCA is an undergraduate degree offered in almost all universities across India. It is a 3 years degree that covers all aspects of Information Technology and Computer Applications like
Programming basics
Computer networks
Database management
Data structures
Software engineering
Operating systems
Website development and scripting
Various programming languages like C++, Java, Python
Software like Oracle
Cloud computing
Multimedia applications
Graphics animation and UI/UX designing.
Who can go for BCA?
A student needs to have passed the 12th (SSC) examination from one of the recognized education boards in India to be eligible to apply for BCA. Many universities and colleges also conduct entrance exams for selecting students.
The best part of BCA is that it is also open for students who opted for commerce, arts or biology streams during their 10+2 studies.
What are the jobs one can get after BCA?
BCA opens up many opportunities for employment in the IT sector. Some of the big names like Oracle, IBM and Infosys go for campus placement in the best BCA colleges in India.
There are many options for private jobs like system administrator, software tester, software developer, web developer, and programmer.
Students also have the option of pursuing Govt. entrance exams like UPSC and PSC which need a graduate qualification to appear.
After doing a B.Ed. one can also start teaching Computer subject in any reputed school.
Doing MCA is another option to better one’s prospects. MCA is a post-graduate degree. So by giving UGC NET after MCA, one can join as assistant professor in universities.
Local companies usually prefer a BCA since BCA have better hands-on skills for programming and latest technologies. Like a firm located in Patna will look to recruit from a BCA college in Patna itself.
How is BCA as compared to than other degrees like M.Sc. (Computers) and BTech (Computer or IT)?
Though BTech and BE are technical graduations and definitely get more lucrative job offers. But due to many reasons, BCA is a more feasible option.
There are many more seats of BCA available that BE or BTech Most universities have multiple colleges offering BCA degree. For example, the number of BCA colleges in Bihar is much more than the number of engineering colleges and hence that many more seats (76 vis-a-vis 17 to be exact). There are over 26 BCA colleges in Patna itself, Dr. CV Raman University Bihar being one of them.
The cost of pursuing a BCA degree from a private college as compared to BTech is much lower. This is an important factor for students with limited financial resources. For example, the total fees of best BCA college in Patna is about 1 lakh rupees (many others are even lower) whereas doing BTech from even an NIT or IIT costs upwards of 5 lakh rupees.
Also, when it comes to job prospects, going to the best college for BCA in India is any day better than doing BE or BTech from a mediocre engineering college. If you are in Bihar, then you can go for CVRU Bihar.
BCA is a 3-year degree, which means students can become employable 1 year earlier than BE or BTech. This is an important factor for someone who has financial responsibilities of a family.

Why Does A Partnership Firm Need To Be Registered?
A General Partnership is a business structure in which two or more individuals manage and operate a business in accordance with the terms and objectives set out in the Partnership Deed. This structure is thought to have lost its relevance since the introduction of the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) because its partners have unlimited liability, which means they are personally liable for the debts of the business. Skills That Will Lead To Your Success
We have always looked up to people like A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Ratan Tata, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni in our times of struggle. These personalities did everything in there power and trusted themselves until they got their success. And we all want to be like them. Successful, famous, and loved by almost everyone.
But what are the qualities, or should I say skills, that you need to succeed in life? And how would these skills help you?
While it is true that to do your work successfully you need all the technical knowledge of your chosen field. It is also true that with the present state of competition in the corporate world, you need more than just technical knowledge to be at your side.
Leadership Quality
Although it has been often said that one is born with leadership qualities. But, it is also true that you can inculcate them in yourself. It is this quality that allows you to take initiatives, take charge in difficult situations, pool the resources that you and your team have, and subsequently succeed.
It may sound like a quality that is essentially required in a manager, but the organizations these days look for leadership qualities in any individual they hire. Considering the number of startups these days, it is not often the manager who leads a particular project or task. Work is often delegated to several individuals and if you have the ability to take charge and lead, your chances of success increase manifold.
Team Player
This ability is an essential one if you want to succeed in the long run. Running alone you may go fast, but with a team, you will go farther. Every organization looks for employees who can coordinate and cooperate well with others. A team that keeps everything in perfect sync, get work done quickly and efficiently.
Being someone who can set aside personal feuds and give work the main priority are bound to succeed in the end.
Critical Thinking
Thinking logically and covering every possibility is a skill that most of us do not have. But it can be inculcated and improved with time and training. Organizations look for employees who act more based on their logical rationale than there emotions. Also known as basic reasoning, critical thinking brings you in front of your competition.
It is also a basic life skill. You might need it when deciding whether to spend the night studying for the exam next week or take break a party.
Communication
It is the most important skill that you will need to succeed in any area of your life. The ability to clearly convey your thought and steer any conversation in your favour is an art. From making friends at college to making a good impression on the teacher to clearing the interviews when looking for a job, everything depends upon your communication skills.
Time Management
It is absolutely very important to keep a schedule to mark the tasks that you need to complete along with the time you want them completed within. This will help you cruise through your college assignments and will also help you achieve targets in your job.
While you are here at AISECT University Jharkhand one of the top institutes in Jharkhand, reach out to your peers and teachers and hone every skill that you will need to succeed.
