Quote/Comment/Question (QCQ)
QUOTE
“Money talks. Whose values?”
COMMENT
I choose this quotation because it challenges the connection between morality and capitalism in a direct manner. Kruger's language is challenging and provocative; it compels us to consider the ways in which economic power shapes societal priorities and values. It also makes me consider how frequently money shapes or compromises human rights, education, and even the arts. For someone who has had financial difficulties, this is particularly painful. Money is the biggest voice in the room, which makes me wonder who gets to define what is worthwhile and whether those decisions truly represent our shared human ideals or are only a reflection of power.
QUESTION
Do you believe that genuine cultural or moral values may survive outside of capitalism in a society where access and power are frequently determined by financial means? Does money always have the last say, or can activism or art have a real impact without it?

Going into this project I knew the main lesson of this assignment was to be as creative as possible to get the most attention from others. The video Gorilla Girls, showcased ways of making themselves known to others through trial and error, and as a group we wanted to test multiple ideas at once. Through the critique, we came up with different and better ideas thanks to our peers. My role in this project was to see how creative I could get with gaining attention through my graphic design skills. I don’t know much about graphic design but I knew I wanted to create something out of site until you notice that this protest doesn’t belong here. I created multiple designs and wanted to use old cereal, pop-tarts, and cookie boxes. Using the knowledge of 2nd first assignment which was to create a camo box that was hidden in plain sight I created different designs for each box. I ran into a problem though, I wanted to print out the designs since painting would create too many streaks and unwanted shine on the boxes. So I went on to procreate and decided to create those images and print them out. But when I went to print them out they couldn’t get the proportions right and we kept talking in circles. I settled for the next best thing and created posters. We then came together as a group and bought some bunny ears to go with our mascot which was a bunny. We later interviewed people on their thoughts on tariffs and if they understood what they were and how it went with our protest. We enhanced the social media experience by using inverted colors and graffiti-style typography, creating a bold, rebellious, and urgent vibe. Instagram was our primary platform, allowing us to expand our message beyond the physical world and into the digital space.

Materials
- Fake money

We decided for this project we’ll be interviewing people and telling them what our project is about as well as some facts about it. Since our location is in Miami we’ll have our Spanish speakers as well as our English speakers that way everyone can get the message and not be hit with a language barrier. After our interview, we’ll give them our fake money which will have our QR code that has access to various platforms to even further our presence.

DIMENSIONS (SURFACE + SPACE) VIRAL INTERVENTIONS - THE PROJECT & PROPOSALS
Proposal 3: The Not So Food Fair
Tumblr media
Objective: Our idea is to present our statement on cardboard outside the fair, using the lively setting to enhance our message. In our video, we added clown music to create a cohesive and engaging presentation. We chose the fair because food is a significant attraction, making it the perfect place to highlight our statement's connection to food and its impact.
Audience: Young people
Location: Miami Dade County Youth Fair

DIMENSIONS (SURFACE + SPACE) VIRAL INTERVENTIONS - THE PROJECT & PROPOSALS
Proposal 2: The Money Game
Tumblr media
Objective: Print fake money featuring our statement and distribute it in a busy public space to reach a wide audience at once. This will not only spread our message but also allow us to observe how people react to receiving money unexpectedly. By capturing their responses-potentially using a hidden camera
—we can gain insight into how everyday individuals interpret the message and engage with the concept.
Audience: Everyday grocery consumers.
Location: Grocery store (Whole foods, Publix, etc)

DIMENSIONS (SURFACE + SPACE) VIRAL INTERVENTIONS - THE PROJECT & PROPOSALS
Proposal 1: Eggstreme Measures
Tumblr media
Objective: Our Eggstreme Measures proposal suggests replacing fake eggs with Easter eggs, each containing a statement, and displaying them in an open egg carton in the egg aisle. This visually highlights how tariffs have driven up prices, particularly for eggs. It also connects to the food aspect of our statement by showcasing a staple product in today's market.
Audience: Everyday grocery egg consumers.
Location: Grocery store (Whole foods, Publix, etc)

Our sentence was “A futuristic tariff redefines food and copyright” We chose the youth fair since not only was it the farthest but the youth fair is well known for its overpriced food. Knowing many would be hungry after a long day of fun and excitement the up the prices not only since the youth fair is an attraction but it’s also convenient. Using that logic they capitalize on individuals' hunger. Each text font represents its meaning in the sentence. My word “food” is the only one colorful and in bubble text. Going along with the youth fair’s theme which is supposed to be fun and cheerful. Contrasting the importance of this sentence
