its easy to say chatgpt bad from an outside perspective, but to users it is made to FEEL helpful on purpose.

it is purely a statistical system made to string datapoints together and make the user FEEL satisfied, even if it isn't actually helpful. this usually occurs by assuring the user no matter what input they offer.

mickey atkins made a great video about this and its really eye-opening how current ai algorithms are made to validate user experience to the point that it can dangerously reinforce maladaptive behaviors.

Sometimes I'll be going about my day normally and then I remember that in the spinoff Reigen told Tome he isn't a psychic instead of keeping it a secret like he did to Mob because he didn't want to make the same mistake and also because he thinks Tome shouldn't be around the office because it only brings her danger so stripping away the reason she looks up to him sm would drive her away and also because he doesn't want her to turn out the way he did and while it did work she eventually returned despite everything because she realises she doesn't like Reigen only for the false reputation he puts on himself as a pseudo psychic but simply because he's somebody she actually likes being around and makes her feel secure enough to just be herself and is generally a good person which is immediately proven when he doesn't hesitate to take on the curse when Roshuuto passed it onto her and then I throw up and die and my body explodes to bits
