Ramblings Of A Coffee Addicted Nutter
10K posts
Literally the ramblings of a Nutter given that's my last name. But you can call me Helen. This is a place for anything I like or feel inspired by Unless stated otherwise, all of the photographs I put up are mine, mostly from my slight Hipstamatic obsession.I'm most frequently found at the football (Leicester City), in the cinema (I'll watch anything) or at home with coffee and a book. If I'm not doing any of that I'm probably picking up a new tv show to binge, watching AS Roma, reading some comics, getting tattooed or writing. Posts may also show a bias to vinyl, anything with owls, cocktails and a lot of Aleksandar Kolarov. While I have a real job, my passion lies in writing which is what I would truly love to do. For the past three seasons, I've been writing as the #1 Leicester City blogger for Yahoo Sport, articles posted via Twitter/my LCFC blog My personal LCFC blog My Twitter My Letterboxd

Excuse me while I just go and sob for a bit. All the best to this absolute, ultimate club legend. I couldn’t imagine a time where he wouldn’t play for us and although I hate it, he deserves another chance to play more regularly. May we meet again Mr Leicester

The first thing he [Denis Villeneuve] said was, “In my Blade Runner, it snows. I’m Canadian I need to work in an environment that I understand, and I know it’s real and truthful to me, and for me that’s snow.” I was immediately relieved and I thought “Ok, this guy’s got it.” - Ryan Gosling

Atomic Blonde introduced me to this version and it’s so beautiful and atmospheric. Love it

Some there are among us who sing that the Shadow will draw back, and peace shall come again. Yet I do not believe that the world about us will ever again be as it was of old, or the light of the Sun as it was aforetime. For the Elves, I fear, it will prove at best a truce, in which they may pass unhindered and leave the Middle-Earth for ever. Alas for Lothlórien that I love!

Cinematography by: Roger Deakins Blade Runner 2049 (2017) Directed by Denis Villeneuve
“I watched Andrei Tarkovsky’s Solaris (1972, DP Vadim Yusov) a couple of times – not that it bears much relation to what we were doing, but it is a film I love. My main references came from general searches I did on the Internet relating to stern, modern, brutalist, concrete architecture, looking at how they use natural light as part of their design. What I found was really the greatest stimulation for what I wanted to do.” - Roger Deakins on visual references for Blade Runner 2049

Been clearing down the recorded films on my tv box while I’ve had the inbetween days off. I had one on there I’d completely forgotten about: The Beat Beneath My Feet
It’s a 2014 indie that apparently hardly anybody has seen. Which is disappointing because it’s actually pretty good. A coming of age drama with a musical focus. It’ll draw comparisons to the masterpiece that is Sing Street and while not as good, it’s great in its own way. Check it out if that sounds like your kinda thing.

Few of us have chosen our clubs, they have simply been presented to us; and so as they slip from Second Division to the Third, or sell their best players, or buy players who you know can’t play, or bash the ball the seven hundreth time towards a nine foot centre-forward, we simply curse, go home, worry for a fortnight and then come back to suffer all over again.
