I was in a workshop the other day where someone was detailing how they, compared to others, show respect by not fidgeting and keeping eye-contact with people.
So yeah, I felt the need to make this comic.
Keep in mind: This isn't an ADHD specific problem and depending on the nuance, can stem from different areas like anxiety or autism. The eye-contact "issues" with ADHD stem more from impulsive eye-movements (the kind where you are not really looking at anything) and high distractability.
ADHD also has a significant overlap with eye-conditions and some studies suggest that ADHD medication can actually help with some eye-conditions. (Is that why my sight feels more blurry on days off medication?!)

Ok, I know I often have issues just getting up and starting a task that will only take me 5 minutes in the end. But WHY is that? What happens in my brain?
This topic is very intricate and hard to explain in simple terms - I gave it my best shot, so please excuse the masses of text! Split into 2 images for easier reading

Shame is one of the hardest things about ADHD for me. I'm back and the book is finished but instead of feeling proud, I feel ashamed for not having managed to stay active, manage my household better or even shower regularly.
I wasn't sure what comic "would be good to come back with", so I just wrote about what I'm actually dealing with right now.
I’m so happy to be back and hope someone still gets some value from my comics!

I used to think I can't have ADHD because I wasn't hyperactive.
Not everyone can allow themselves to act on their hyperactivity, so we find ways to redirect or hide the understimulation.
(Sneak introduction to the new inattentive Alien! A hommage to a collab I did with René ♥️)

the one thing i will let myself be obnoxiously european about is travel distances. "british people think a 2 hour drive is too long" yes ☝️ thats me i do think that. being stuck in a car is torture. i want everything important to be within walking distance of my house. the fact a lot of usamericans live multiple miles from the nearest store is terrifying to me. how do you live like that............. how do you cope...............

By the way, I think it's important to know (for context, if nothing else) that most people LIKE their gender. Most people generally LIKE the experience of being their gender much more than they dislike it.
This is part of why gender, like, persists as a concept.
A lot of people (particularly people who don't realize they're trans, and also TERFs) think that most people (especially women) HATE their genders and HATE their experience with gender.
That's really far from true. Most women like being women (cis or trans). They hate sexism for sure (unless they're a tradwife or antifeminist and don't believe it exists ig), they may have suffered tremendously due to sexism, but like. They generally do like being women.
Similarly, most men, like. Generally like being men and enjoy that they are men and enjoy being a man.
So if you hate your gender, if you hate being a woman or being a man and assume everyone secretly lowkey feels that way on the inside, I really do want to let you know that that is not actually how most people feel and you should probably do some thinking about whether you might be trans
#clicked agender bc its the most true but also true is that im trans and i fucking love my new gender#although it is kinda (gestures at nothing) this shit is AWESOME!!!

A lot of "Minecraft is BAD" videos are really annoying because, like, there's actually a lot of things that could use fixing, yes, but you're just trying to turn this into 3D Terraria. I think a lot of people who make these videos forget that most Minecraft players are intrinsically motivated, rather than extrinsically. It's a sandbox game at heart, the vanilla experience does not need highly-controlled level progression.

Shopping for laptops fucking sucks ‘cause I don’t know shit about computers. I’ve never had a computer with a functional webcam or microphone or the ability to play computer games made later than 2005 or a speaker that could play anything loud enough to hear from more than a foot away. How the hell should I know what I want?!

sorta funny how many cis people seem to think being an ally just means like. not actively commiting hate crimes. "i'm an ally i'm just worried that hrt is dangerous and i dont like when they shove pride right in our faces and i think all this sjw stuff in movies is unrealistic and im worried about the children-" okay. so i dont think you know what that word means,
