The best advice i can give any creator is do it before you're good at it, do it BEFORE you're happy, do it while you suck, do it while you're doubting yourself and get stuck the fuck in, because waiting around to be "good enough" is a motherfucking trap of the highest degree. You'll get good along the way and better after ever project is complete. Remember, this is the greatest thing you've ever created, and then you'll do something else. You're only ever gonna get better, but not if you stand still.

Just a little PSA for all our mental health (and chronic pain*) spoonies out there! A lot of doctors neglect to mention this little side effect, which means a lot of us are suffering extra from the heat without knowing why.
*Many psych meds are used to treat chronic pain as well, if you didn’t know!

Actress performs a scene from Journey to the West "Three Times Striking the White-Bone Demon" in Wu Opera (Wuju), a traditional Chinese local opera originating from Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. Its name comes from the ancient name of Jinhua "Wuzhou" (婺州).

Kuro-Obi (2007) is a great movie overall, and this is one of my favorite scenes. After spending the past few years on my women and opium history project (and planning to spend a few more years turning it into a book), any time that moral weight is assigned to explicitly linked women and substances, all of the colorful lights start blazing in my head.
Here, Giryu's first, shocked reaction to Taikan fending off his attackers and untying him from the straw mat he had been rolled up in was, "... Wait, are you drunk?"
Taikan's reply being basically, "Well ACTUALLY, women and sake are good, and even if they ARE evil, it's helpful, consumable evil that makes me more of a badass, so there, you clean freak!" took me out. "You should be thanking me for defying our master's teachings, getting drunk, and visiting brothels!! It's why I was local when you were getting your ass kicked!"
The ending, where Giryu stands up for a group of young women and promotes their agency without any ulterior motives, and where Taikan acknowledges that Giryu's sense of purity is a strength, not a weakness, is even more satisfying after this exchange.

Fresh blue ground for this hemp obi depicting gekka bijin (litt. “beauty in the moonlight”).
Night-blooming cereus are cacti flowers mostly known by their nickname “queen of the night” as they bloom only by moonlight - some for but a night (pic source):

I wish they could invent a medical device that temporarily transfers your symptoms and pain to the doctor treating you and it worked like a shock collar. “I think light exercise would-.” and then bam they’re rolling around the floor clutching their stomach in agony and dry heaving.

explain your gender in 10 words or less without using boring words like “male”, “female”, “nonbinary”, “masculine”, “feminine” or “androgynous”.

the point of rpf isn’t to concoct scenarios that are thinly veiled attempts to fuck the celebrities you like yourself. the point of rpf is to learn as much lore as is possible about the celebrities you like by whatever means necessary and use that information to craft scenarios that are wildly implausible but Technically could have happened. and then to chuckle about it. by the way
