My home-town is a scene from some horrific true crime documentary today. A community torn apart by violence, leaving scars that will not heal for the next decade.

But, accounting homework awaits. There is no time for mourning or tears in this capitalistic, patriarchal landscape.

And so, we smash together all of our fragmented pieces and wait for another day to dawn that looks different.

This is my second term back in college as a 30-something year old, and--

How am I supposed to carry on as normal when a man has crowned himself king.

Watching a lecture on large credit purchases seems trivial in the face of today.

something that I feel like is missing from fandom nowadays is the idea that you dont have to have a unified, chronologically/tonally consistent interpretation of your favorite work. your fics dont have to fit within the same version of canon, even if theyre all canon-compliant on their own. your headcanons can contradict each other. be a multishipper. write metas that take two totally different interpretations of the same plot point. write a character as a villain and then write them as the hero next time. write a character as a lesbian and then write them as straight next time! engage in hypotheticals and drop them when you get bored! make up the rules as you go!! have fun with it!!!

ICYMI - which is likely since I didn't post anywhere about it 😂... My newest WIP (because four wasn't enough) and birthday gift to the amazing @b-lovedhunter.

This is an alternate timeline Tom who becomes fascinated...er obsessed with divination. Everything he does is for another glimpse of the goddess who has haunted him since he was a 3rd year.

Now he's grown and back at Hogwarts as a Professor. Everything changes when he treads on magic more powerful than he ever imagined and finds a witch ready to kill him for a version of himself he doesn't know.

I really don’t know how to explain to you that activism, community outreach, meeting important goals in the realm of social justice, and just generally living life is much easier under the presidency of an average democrat than a republican who was so outspokenly racist, genocidal, inflammatory, misogynistic, and violent that he may have permanently skewed the american right to the furthest extreme possible. I don’t know how to explain to you that the candidate who was so extreme that he brought neo-nazis into the mainstream political landscape needs to be kept out of any political office at any cost. even if it means voting for a center-left democrat who won’t personally sign off on your glorious revolution.
