My thoughts on social media on the go have definitely changed after this exercise. Today my classmates and I went to cover a story in the city using only our mobile devices. I always knew that social media played a key part in storytelling in the newsroom, but I did not know how much work went into it. I realized how challenging it can be to juggle several social media platforms at once. What I enjoyed was mainly interacting with different people in Times Square and getting them engaged in a conversation. I also loved the photography aspect of storytelling. What I found most difficult was navigating iMovie and Periscope under a short amount of time. I eventually learned how to use these tools but I felt rushed which is the realities of journalism.
