Fashion in Motion
Last week I was lucky enough to attend the Fashion in Motion: Fyodor Golan fashion show at the V&A. Fyodor and Golan were the winners of the Fashion Fringe in 2011 and they are known for their unique use of material and shape creating interesting textures and detailing. It was a great show and provided me with lots of inspiration for my next collection. Look out for other fashion in motion events at the V&A by visiting www.vam.ac.uk/page/f/fashion-in-motion/

AW Trends 2012
When it gets to the new season, my favourite purchase is the Marie Claire Runway trend magazine. With over 100 pages of trends and styles, it becomes my bible for ideas (especially when you have a busy lifestyle!). Having created many of these trends for my Kate Thomas collection, I love to see the comparisons between the runway and the high street. Not only does it offer beautiful fashion imagery, it provides fabulous articles on my most favourite designers such as Valentino and Donna Karen AND it is a perfect coffee table book for your friends to flick through! What's not to love.

Food Glorious Food
With the rain pouring down on Saturday, I took to the Good Food Show to check out the abundance of cupcakes, macaroons and ice-cream for inspiration for my own baking. With over 200 exhibitors and a demonstration from the queen of cooking herself, Mary Berry, it was well worth the trip.

First Lady Michelle Obama
As Mr Obama won the election last night and goes into his second term, I thought it right to pay tribute to Michelle Obama's magnificent style. She definitely wins my vote on the best dressed list and its great that she isn't afraid to recycle her outfits too. I look forward to many more of her fashion moments over the next four years. This zingy orange dress is a perfect colour choice for Mrs Obama, but as the winter months are looming I have chosen a great alternative that is on trend for this season. Buy it here.
