Durge came to his dearest and nearest to help dealing with his episode. Gortash was happy to give a hand, not for free though.

I think Gortash's look of perfect imperfection is purposeful and entirely manufactured. He stood in the mirror before his coronation and laced up his shirt correctly, then pulled out a few loops. He ran his hands through his hair (that his barber had so painstakingly coiffed not moments before) until a few strands fell out of place. He worked on artificer projects right before the ceremony and didn't bother cleaning off flecks of work grease. Each facet of his look is part of a cultivated image meant to convey a chic, detached poise that obscures reality: he's considered every little detail, down to the intricate patterns on his arm guards.

The two mini paintings I did of Gortash and Karlach 🥰 I'm obsessed with the Gort one lol. I need to make a big painting of him too... I have an idea but I'm scared. 😂 Usually I don't wanna do backgrounds and shit but he deserves it!!!! 🤔💦💦💦

Durge: ~visibly appalled~ Oh, but I will, Gortash. Who are you to say such a thing to the destroyer of death itself? I will come and go as I please. Your supposed partner-in-crime, nearest and dearest, sight for sore eyes? And you aren't falling over yourself to merely lay eyes on me again? Just wait. I'll paint your floors with entrails. I'll fill your bathtub with eyeballs. I'll sneak in your bed at night, when you've just slipped into sleep, and whisper utter depravity in your ears between sips of your blood, siphoned through a straw hewn of your own vessels. I'll...*trails on*

Gortash: *ignoring ten years' worth of red flags thrust upon him yet again and blatant Orin parallels* I did miss this.

The prayer on Gortashs workbench is tragic, but, BUT—Balthazar's note. "Orin was right about her sibling". So, he knew? Beforehand? How many people knew before Orin did what she did?

And what are the odds that Gortash himself knew but chose to do nothing, cuz he knew it was the right thing to get rid of Durge, cuz he knew Durge couldn't succumb to them, cuz he thought they too knew.

What if he knew what Orin had planned, chose to do nothing for whatever arrogant reason, only for his worst nightmare that he never deemed possible to come to life?

What then?

I love how some of The Dark Urge's dialogue (and Orin's) is so eloquent, almost Shakespearian. The dichotomy of pre-tadpole Dark Urge as a monstrous killer, but also a passionate wordsmith, is such a fun idea to explore. The Prayer for Forgiveness is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm imagining Durge coming back to the temple of Bhaal drenched in blood, fresh from a murder spree, and sitting down to write another flowery love poem to Gortash. They then stash it in a chest full of unsent love letters, most smeared with various levels of dried blood, never to be seen again.

Oh right while nobody was looking I commissioned the default Durge VA to read a lil smth.

Decided to include the end cuz lord the whiplash caught me so off-guard it was hilarious. It's just a snippet cuz the OG Cameo was straight up 6.5 minutes (I melted when I saw that) but his descent into insanity is still a joy to watch (this sounds wrong).

The whole process was super sweet though, definitely recommend if ya wanna treat yourself. I shall now remind myself I'm broke so I won't order more.
