Hey, it's Kathera!!! As you may be aware already, I really like climbing, exploring, and all that, it's fun!!

Recently, I went to explore one of the most unknown parts of the Ixalan jungles for us Merfolks, and it was a great experience!! I ate a fruit I had never eater before and it tasted great, I'm absolutely going there again. So yeah, exploring is awesome, even in water, which I'm not a huge fan of!! Just recently I saw a very pretty fish, and that was awesome!!! If you have some free time, you should really explore your plain, or heck, maybe even explore other plains now that Omenpahts or whatever are a thing!!! EXPLORE!!!!!

You are only in danger of being eaten if you let them see you, try to hide in the trees! They are too big to attack closed areas of a jungle and most can't swim well, so lakes and rivers are also a safe spot. Granted, this works for us Merfolks, but probably humans and vampires have their own ways to escape if that doesn't work! But if you ask me, I would always recommend you have a Merfolk friend with you before playing, juuuust in case.

Weeeeeeeeeell... Imagine a lizard, ok??? Now imagine a lizard the size of a person. Then, about twice as big. Then like, four times as big. Then three times. That may be the size of a small one, they are BIG!

Wow, you sound so excited to play it, cool!! The different between all the dreadmaws are very subtle, and are both physical and... behaviourical? Behaviour based- Personality related... You get it. Tjhe easiest to spot are the physical ones, and the ones based on personality are ofter saved for the "pros", like how much time they spend on water taking baths, how much they'll run to catch a prey before giving up, or where part of the body they attack and eat first.

I admit most of the Merfolks that play aren't really experts on dino-biology so a lot of our guesses are based on ideas, but we have discovered a lot about all the kind of dreadmaws! I sometimes write stuff around them on trees, so if you find 'hunter dreadmaw - attacks the legs first and it's skin tone is a bit darker' , you'll know it was Kathera!

It's very easy to play, actually! You just need to know a thing or two about dreadmaws. There are a bunch of dreadmaws in Ixalan, enough to give them more especialised names. They aren't like, super complex, mainly just things like "Forest-dwelling", "Ground-shaker", things like that. They all look almost the same, but we natives can tell the differences among them, so we play to guess which one is! It requires knowing a lot about dreadmaws, but once you do, it's very fun to test your knowledge about them with others, I do it a lot!!! If you don't know a lot about dreadmaws tho, we have "Guess the Dinosaur", which is a broader version of "Guess the Dreadmaw", perfect for begginers.

I have never seen them fly, I am kinda sure they can't... But I am not THAT sure. Maybe they are waiting for the right time to strike! MAYBE SOON IXALAN WILL BE FULL OF FLYING DREADMAWS! ...Honestly I doubt it, but wouldn't it be so cool???? Like imagine you are walking, and then boom, flying dreadmaw! That IS fun!

And don't worry about the number of Merfolks you'll find in Ixalan's forest, I have my own ways of making me noticeable!

Uhm... Well, it's very hard to describe if you have never seen one, but... It's like a lizard but really, really big, like super big, way bigger than what you are imagining! And then their arms are super small and kinda cute when they aren't trying to eat you, but their legs are massive! They run CRAZY fast, even with how huge they are! You should come to Ixalan one day, I would love to show you some dreadmaws while I make sure to keep you at a safe distance.

I would love to play with you! Just wait till one of the omen whatever things to Ixalan opens and I may catch you there! I am the Merfolk in the forest, don't worry you'll recognise me. Beware tho, I have seen some big and mean dreadmaws around, I would have swore one was colossal!

Hey, thanks! But don't worry, I am all good, it's the device I use to post things the one that fell, and it happens a bit, I bet it's used to it already!

I have never seen a Cephalid... Or well, been on Capenna for that matter, but sounds like a cool place, I'll try to catch an Omenpath to there one day. Merfolks or not, we are amphibious, that's basically family, and I love meeting new family members!

I never really got why so many Merfolks prefer water, it's like... why??? It's just water!! Water's everywhere!!! But things like climbing or exploring require unique things, things you can only find if you get out of the water, so you should absolutely get out!!! To each their own I guess, but more Merfolks should give the water a rest, they don't get how nice a day of climbing or walking can be!!

It's CRAZY to me that there are some Merfolks that just... Live in the water??? All their life?????? Like, land's there! Go!! Go there, go!!! Crazy.

When the Omenpaths opened and I got to hang out with other Merfolks, I didn't expect they would just... Don't leave water. Am I a weirdo for prefering trees????? Does Ixalan have the only tree-dwellers among the Merfolks???????

Sorry got off railed, yes, it is quite normal! We Ixalans are proud land-dwellers!
