ray’s Miitopia oc post reminded me of something

So Ray has Erika, who was her self-insert until she created her current one.

I have current Kat.. and shorter, less brainrotted Kat. So I drew them interacting.

(Fun fact: shorter Kat is still around, she’s just a skykid oc now. Which was her original form. She’s also my pfp on my technically main blog.)

thinking about Miitopia cat people again

there are cat people from other regions, like in Powdered Peaks you have Siberian domestic cats and Norwegian Forest Cats, and also bobcats, lynxes, snow leopards, etc.

If you can think of a type of cat there’s probably a cat person with its traits. Like- there’s lineages for each kind of cat. No one keeps track of the more common ones like the domestic cat looking ones but cats like snow leopards are much rarer.

part 5 of that entirely self-indulgent AU where Failboat characters live on Terra: we’re finally getting to the Failtopia s2 miis

uuuuuh I don’t know what to preface this with. This will probably be way more readable than the last one because I am no longer throwing technical terms at you.

Mar gets his own post by the way, that’s later.

Orion, in this AU, is a well known warrior in its equivalent to Greenhorne.

(Imagine the following being read in a voice like the one Failboat uses to narrate the Miitopia character intro cutscenes for maximum effect.)

He’s the personal guard of the town’s mayor, a protector of the weak, and vanquisher of evil..

but most of all..

He’s a dad. He has a kid, Slapo, and a wife he loves very much, even though she’s a Vampire Sarkaz, and everyone is supposed to hate the Sarkaz.

And then this guy shows up and puts half the town into a coma with Originium Arts, including his wife, equating her current state to “the same amount of brain activity as a soda can.”

“Good luck waking her up.”

After that disaster, additionally suspecting something has happened to the members of the town’s government, he plans to set off and go confront this mysterious sorcerer, to make sure they face the consequences.

(ok you can stop now. Also don’t worry Mrs. Oopsie lives)

Later on, he changes to being a flower-based healer because of Slapo’s interest in flowers.

I don’t know what kind of animal person he would be. Maybe Kuranta (equine person. Kuranta also have a majority population in the nation of Kazimierz, which has knights as a big part of their culture.) or Forte (bull person)?

Next Mii- Shrimp is an Aegir (fish person) from the nation of Aegir (equivalent to a mix of Atlantis and Ancient Rome) beneath the sea. Despite the fact that Aegir perceives the land nations as primitive, Shrimp still thought it was better than staying in the sea where she was bullied for wanting to be a singer. So she left- it was risky, with unpredictable currents and the Seaborn looming, but she eventually ended up in the nation of Higashi (equivalent to Japan) with the help of a certain Liberi. (You can probably guess who that is.) Higashi has a big streaming culture (at least that’s what I would think with the number of gamer characters who come from Higashi and the culture they export) so she picked that up too.

Last, we have Friend. Friend is an Ageless of unknown race, who is also the priest or other religious worshipper of a Feranmut (pretty much the gods of Terra.) She’s able to wield some of the power of that god to heal people and also smite them, acting as Its proxy. yeah that’s all I have on Friend.

Where is the other yapping part where I make them playable? I’m reworking that. I’ll probably post some sketches of Simple Bob in this AU later.

Addendum to part 4: playable operator kits

Hey, remember this AU? It’s back. I still have to do the Miitopia s2 party, (and maybe a few more characters) after all.

This is all hypothetical playable operator stuff. Basically, don’t read this unless you want to look at a largely in part technical wall of text that refers to a game I don’t think any of the people who usually read my stuff play or have heard of outside my yapping.

I may switch to doing sketches of their playable forms and what the skills do in the future instead of.. this. This wall of text is definitely hard to picture unless you’re me.

First of all, I gave Failboat the class switching mechanic that one of the characters in Arknights already has, to accommodate the class switching in Miitopia. All of his different forms get a skill charge boost when Chat is on the field. His base form is a 6* Reaper Guard (a warrior archetype subclass that a) cannot be directly healed and b) mainly uses scythes as their choice of weapon) that’s kinda gimmicky and weird. Things are never normal with any version of this guy and I wanted to reflect that in how his playable operator form works, though this means things get way more complicated for me. His skill 1 is a mix of an attack and attack speed boost. His skill 2 is based off of that attack c!Fail did in the finale cutscene for Miitopia s2- it buffs his attack speed and also increases his attack radius by 1 tile on each side. (That’s a 5x1 tile attack radius- a bit wacky if you ask me) It has a 10 second windup where he doesn’t attack, and lasts 30 seconds. His skill 3 is just True Catboat mode. There’s no charge time (other than waiting for SP) and upon activation you can choose a tile within a certain radius to redeploy him on. While the skill is active, he gets an attack% and attack speed boost, his range expands, and a LOT more HP. It’s sort of similar to the skill 3 of the new operator Monst3r, if you want to search up an Arknights video for reference. When this skill ends, he moves back to his original spot and is stunned for 15 seconds.

His Miitopia jobs are alternate forms- this is different from Operator Alters. Alters can be used at the same time as their original version, alternate forms cannot.

His first job in Miitopia, Pop Star, is pretty easy to translate into a Bard Supporter (a buffer archetype subclass that does not attack, instead providing buffs and passive healing.) His first skill makes enemies focus attacks on him and boosts his physical dodge, while his second skill is a small burst of True damage that stuns enemies for ten seconds. (The joke is that Failboat is really bad at singing, as evidenced by the song cover that I shall not name, so the enemies get their eardrums bursted by him.)

His job as a Cat I translated into an 5* Executor Specialist (fast-redeploy. This subclass has a 15 second cooldown on deployment as opposed to the standard 60) His skill 1 gives him 0 block on deployment but inflicts Fear on enemies for 2 seconds. (Specifically based off that one joke about the enemy getting ready to fight and immediately being repulsed by Catboat.) His skill 2 stuns the target and his attack speed is temporarily increased drastically.

His Tank job (which kinda gets forgotten) I decided to convert to 5* Artilleryman Sniper (ranged physical damage dealer. Attacks are slower but hit all enemies within an aoe) His skill 1 is just a basic attack increase since I don’t have any ideas, while his skill 2 increases his attack speed and damage, but forces him to loc onto one spot.

Wincar almost got demoted to 5* because it was funny. Reminder that this guy is on the same level of power as most of the Miitopia characters (aka basically just a guy with a handful of magic abilities). But the brainrot won, so he’s a 6*. Like his brother, his base form is a 6* Reaper Guard. His skill 1 increases his attack and also the amount of healing he gets from attacks. It’s an offensive recovery skill, so it can only be charged by attacking. From the second activation onward, it has an unlimited duration. His skill 2 decreases his attack speed a lot, but attacks leave behind Arts afterimages that linger for a short time. His skill 3 expands his range to a 2x3 rectangle in front of him, increases his HP and attack, and makes his attacks deal Arts damage, but depletes his HP by a certain percentage after the skill ends for every 2 seconds it was active. It can be manually deactivated.

The whole thing I was going for with this kit was playing into the Originium Arts thing I gave this AU’s Wincar in his lore, and also creating a contrast between him and Failboat. Quick strikes and a lot of flexibility versus slower and less moveable but harder hitting.

Chat ended up as a 5* Artilleryman Sniper. Who thought it was a good idea to give them explosives!? Not me, so, not my problem. Their skill 1 has them using themselves as the ammo- they gain increased attack speed, their attacks have a wider aoe, and their shots deal extra Arts damage, but they sacrifice their HP for every shot. Also, small chance they hit an allied operator. This skill activates automatically.

Their skill 2, on the other hand, uses other people as the ammo. When activated, Chat will use a friendly unit in the surrounding 8 tiles as a projectile, instantly retreating them. Chat will use one of that unit’s stats (dunno which one) and add it to the damage of the next attack, and then on top of that add a 50% atk boost. The allied unit will additionally have their redeployment time extended by 25% (ex. If their redeployment time was 60 sec, it becomes 75) because, you know, they just got shot out of a cannon by their coworker. Without their consent or any warning, and they’re probably injured and a little mad about it.

Rapper Failboat.. is hard to fit into one specific archetype without folding and making him into a third 6* Reaper Guard. Which I really don’t want to do. And I don’t want to keep this post in draft hell any longer, so I’ll get to him later.

Probably not as much, if I even knew about him. It would probably be only to the extent of “oh I think that guy’s pretty cool” and nothing more.

25. how did you first discover your Blorbo?

Failboat lore was kind of in my periphery up until like a year or two ago, but I watched the lore cutscenes like a week or two after the initial livestreams. I used to actually skip ahead a few seconds in the Divergence301 cutscene every time Wincar said something. I thought he was a really cringe character, and then I took another look at him a year later, and my opinion changed.. a lot.

3. was there any specific point / any specific moment that suddenly made this character your Blorbo, or did you slowly grow to love them more and more until they became a Blorbo to you?

Yes and no. Back while the ACNH lore was still ongoing, I was of the same opinion as Failboat, which was that Wincar is a really cringe character that should be tossed into the deepest depths of my mind and never thought about again. But then Failgex Deluxe happened and that was one of the things that sent me back down the rabbit hole of Failboat lore, and while I was in denial about it at first, I started getting really fixated on him. My friend started prodding me about the mystery character I kept alluding to in conversation, and then I started yapping. And I haven’t stopped since.

4. what’s the thing you love most about your Blorbo?

arghhh why must I choose!? I think my favorite thing about Wincar is how the community took his character and fucking ran with it. In LoS, he is not a very complex character at all. But then you stack the ACNH lore on top of that- specifically Divergence301, and suddenly there’s this whole new layer with is characterization and the trauma from Failwhale being the scum of the multiverse. And then you get the fan games, which are new what if scenarios, exploring how things could have gone differently with his character. And there’s still room for new people to build on top of it. It’s like this microcosm of how the lore gets created.

6. if you could talk to your Blorbo, what would you say to them?

To be honest I have literally no clue what I would say to him because I am horrible at talking to people irl, despite the bravado I have on here. Sorry about the non-answer, but uh. Seriously. I’m coming up blank.

Yeah. I thought we knew I’m a sadist already. (/j) Dude I’m just hungry for content send him back to the plinko, or don’t, I’m not too picky, just give me SOMETHING dammit.

ok either this take will be super awesome or pure garbage but hear me out. “I’ve Always Wanted A Brother” but it’s C!Fail and Wincar before/during Legacy

I haven’t seen Mufasa (nor do I plan you) but like. Assuming C!Fail is Taka here, his big ego starting to show even before everything with the hc of Failwhale preferring him over Wincar, yet C!Fail still considered Wincar to be an equal? Also with their mom disappearing for her work kinda(?) early on but still having a strong impact on the two

AND THE END OF THE SONG. I can visualize C!Fail and Car picking their scythes and then it cutting to the start of The Race™️ with the “I’ll race you to the other side!” bit… also that bit specifically hurts more with what we know happens to their relationship afterwards that race begins. idk for sure on this cuz I’m not as much of an Legacy expert as I am for Miitopia, but I thought it had some animatic potential :0

This is actually a great idea. Combining it with some of Fun’s headcanons about C!Fail and Wincar’s childhood for that section where people are gossiping about Mufasa, I can picture a full animatic.

The purpose of the song in its source material kinda clashes with this idea though.

predicting that failtopia: living the dream’s first stream will be on/around may 21st cuz the first streams for each miitopia season seem to line up with an episode of legacy of the scythe (failtopia S1 dropped on march 10th/legacy ep 1 dropped march 9th, both failtopia S2 and legacy ep 1.5 came out on april 27th)
