I haven’t been sending asks to the ask blogs, even though I want to, because I’m legitimately afraid of becoming the catalyst for a horrible situation like the ones that seem to happen every other Tuesday on some of them.

Am I going crazy or is this like a weekly thing? The april chaos never went away, it just found a new home.

Poking apart the internals of Failblr because I’m bored

plus a little commentary (and maybe a few jabs at the people here) from yours truly

So there’s like what, 9 people, 10 people on Failblr? Not a lot of analysis to be done here, but I pretty much think in paragraphs, so I’ll still be able to stream of consciousness at least 5 paragraphs onto this post.

The interesting thing about Failblr is that it kind of feels like the miscellaneous box of the community- the branches separate from the casual viewerbase are all very small and it looks like they’ve all converged here somehow.

Failtopia is the largest group and also the one that’s been here the longest. Failboat’s ability to improv absolute cinema into existence with a silly little Mii game perplexes me. It’s a shame i don’t remember most of it, I just have a faint wisp of the excitement I experienced watching it last year still stored in my head. Whatever was being cooked was obviously good though, if Failtopia has outlasted all other branches with such vitality. You people can pull symbolism from the most random things- for example, who landed the last hit on Hank, which was a totally random event outside of Failboat’s control, write a whole news article length piece on it, and it’ll make sense.

Ray, your diagram has a bit of an inaccuracy. The LoS and ACNH branches are not separate, and have not been separate for a long while. Since the final arc of the ACNH lore was a continuation of that series and in turn the earlier lore is also intertwined with it, you cannot have one without the other. (Also, why did you have to specifically point out that LoS is dead?? It’s not like Failtopia’s flow of canon content hadn’t been stopped before Tomodachi 2 was announced)

You could say that the LoS/ACNH branch is like the Wincar to the Failtopia branch’s c!Failboat. (Heh.. ironic.) We’re more obscure, have already been eclipsed by another subgroup (that’s YOU, Failtopia), have less canon content to work with, and are more insane. However, both have a love for the lore in common, and there’s some interesting coincidences between some of the members of the two groups. Seeing all of Ray’s Erica posting on Youtube and eventually here gave me a moment that felt like the Spiderman pointing at Spiderman meme. And I genuinely wonder who the bigger lore nerd is between Rose and Fun. Like seriously, both of them know so much obscure knowledge it bewilders me.

And an honorable mention to the one Pokemon Nuzlocke fan on here. Hi there I still don’t know too much about that but I remember naming some of my mons in a few games after some of the mons from the Sword and Shield days because I watched the main channel stuff :]

yeah I don’t know what else to say but now I kind of want to make a personification of the LoS/ACNH subfandom. It’s totally unnecessary, but I like designing characters. Here’s to like 5 months of our symbiotic relationship, and hopefully many more.

I felt the sudden urge to try and organize a little chart of how the fandom is connected to one another (specifically with the lore sub-fandoms)

the chart is kinda godawful (in terms of my handwriting) but who knows it might help anyone trying to understand the fandom for the first time. not really the lore itself, but the fandom. I hope this is accurate..

elaborating on the “Wincar has/had selective mutism” headcanon

I don’t know how to lead into the idea for how Wincar becomes selectively mute. So uh

There’s two separate ideas I have for how this happens:

First one involves borrowing some of Fun’s ideas and going all the way back to before LoS, when (c!)Failboat and Wincar were kids. A combination of bullying and Failwhale being… Failwhale, caused the selective mutism. I still see Wincar as the more confrontational twin, but that doesn’t change the fact that most of the time, if a person is constantly being beaten down by people around them, especially if family members are involved, they’ll break. In Wincar’s case, that took the form of gradually becoming more and more withdrawn and more reluctant to speak until he had completely disappeared into the background.

How would younger Failboat have reacted to this? Would he try to help? Or would he just be a bystander?

There is kind of an issue with this idea though, which is Failwhale. In LoS, Wincar has no issue talking to his dad. And I can’t see Failwhale not being a trigger for the selective mutism. Maybe Failboat also being there is helping?

Second idea. The dragons caused it. We have no idea what happened in the timespan between LoS and ACNH. And there’s quite a time gap there. So who’s to say that the Ender Dragons didn’t inflict any psychological damage on Wincar beyond getting him to kill his dad in cold blood? Who’s to say that they didn’t slowly chip away at his self esteem and sense of self until they got what was an almost hollow husk?

You could also combine both ideas to have 1 be the initial incident, and 2 be a relapse point.
