I've been thinking about babysugi lately... I need to headpat him and feed him all the delicious food he wants T_T

I’m fascinated by how Gintoki has rejected the label as “older brother” of Kagura (rakuyo) and Shinpachi (beam saber) and asserts himself as their “Yorozuya Gin-chan” who fights to protect them and keep their families intact.

He doesn’t want to replace Otae and Kamui or steal the role of Shimura Ken and Umibozu because those bonds are equally important to the kids. He tends to downplay his importance to the kids, but they will always remind him how special he is (literally the entire show, but amnesia & four devas give the most substance)

There is no fixed roles to the Yorozuya “family” (they’re only playing house with varying commitment) and while Gintoki has said he doesn’t understand family, he adopts a Shoyo-esque guardian role in Shinpachi and Kagura’s lives proudly! They’re the odd jobs and they’re do any odd jobs and that includes being there for each other through happy and sad times!!!

I think the comedy of Soyo inviting Sougo to a meal is underutilized…Nobume is there too bc she wants free food and can’t leave the former princess alone with the stupid sadist…obviously that means Kagura has to join too!! it’s a girls night!! and then Shinpachi has to go to supervise and oh I should write this lol

Yay my Gintama obsession returned 😂😂😂 every few years I rewatch and reread gintama. And of course I make fanart on gintama. It’s one of the best shonen and comedy in anime history in my opinion.
