why am i tearing up at this pigeon post? i ask myself…

well because during a time of acute global doom, two adult men chose to tenderly care for an ailing wild pigeon and now years later in a city of untold numbers of pigeons they just got to have a visual confirmation that they did good

and that’s them with us too a bit, isn’t it?? steve the pigeon is us!!!! It’s tit!!! It’s the revival!!!!! They are a good influence!!!!! We’re good, they’re good, and this whole past year, they got to see visual confirmation of that over and over — of the enduring lifeforce of this little world they created.

Steve the pigeon is thriving and healed and gets to live his best pigeon life, Dan and Phil are thriving and healing and get to live their best we/us pronouns life, we the audience are thriving and healing (at least in our relationship to them like i know we’re not all out here doing a-okay I know but I like to think we are still healing and having the courage to exist etc) and get to live our best phannie lives.
