Telling tales

Someone said today that Yoga came out of Africa.

I wanted to laugh

But they were serious

The logic being that humans came out of Africa, therefore yoga came from Africa

It's like saying french fries came from Peru because potatoes came from Peru

Why does the ego try to own and categorise things? Redefine history to fit a different story? What purpose does it hold?

The purpose of yoga is freedom. Liberation from the ego and the mind stuff...

This yogi says own, steal it, appropriate it as you wish...but better would be to practice it and set yourself free.
