The first chapter was EVERYTHING! Like bruh. I'm dieing to read what'll happen next😩

「 spring breeze 」 - mitsuya takashi x f!reader
⤷ ❝ you cover my empty heart, filling it with you ❞

summary: just like everyone else, the worldwide famous designer mitsuya takashi’s ring finger is tied with a red string, except his is ripped and damaged. every morning he wakes up to find it more torn, and he slowly loses hope in finding his soulmate on the other half of the string.
you couldn't care less about soulmates, finding it childish that you’re bonded to someone for life because of some silly string. you’d much rather focus on your career and your goal of outshining your long-time competitor, the designer of mitsu’s, before fashion week.

% . . . soulmate au, rivals to lovers, competitors to lovers, romance, slight angst, smut, toothrotting fluff, cliche shit… like really cliche i’m not even sorry for it, tokyo revengers series.
% . . . smut, minors dni 18+ only, language, mentions of abandonment, alcohol.
% . . . playlist, taglist, trailer

— CHAPTER ONE: red string of… what the fuck?
— CHAPTER TWO: list of things never to do
— CHAPTER THREE: fashion runaway
— CHAPTER FOUR: project soulmate
— CHAPTER FIVE: oh, someone give me a break
— CHAPTER SIX: action movies are just better
— CHAPTER SEVEN: strike three, you’re out
— CHAPTER EIGHT: love talk
— CHAPTER NINE: “you can cook?”
— CHAPTER TEN: good old-fashioned lover boy
— CHAPTER ELEVEN: i’ll smile brightly . . .
— CHAPTER TWELVE: . . . when the spring breeze passes

♡Valentine's Wakasa♡
Characters : Kodo Rengo!Wakasa, Me (Mystie)
Genre : Self-ship Headcanons
Fandom : Tokyo Revengers
Valentine's Day is 'round the corner and I wanted a Wakasa fic so bad that I started making these Headcanons of my self-ship
- You bet I was a blushing, stuttering mess
‐ My palms were sweaty, heart running ahead of the speed my brain can comprehend
- see, I could find the skin color but I'm brown which means even if I was beet red, it was hard to tell under the dim lighting. Thanks the lords
- He has a reputation to uphold so he didn't give me chocolates in public. Drove me to riverbank, at night and pulled out a chocolate lolli from his white jacket with a messily tied ribbon
- would have a small flush to his pale cheeks
- he was sporting a nonchalant look, even if his inner self was doing a victory dance at my blushing state
- took me to a late night getaway on his bike, 10/10 experience. I love bike rides
- I'm not a sweets person but I gladly devoured that lolli
- no kisses for now but I'm sure we'll get there when he asks me out
- ;D
Note : This is purely a work of fiction. I don't really ship myself/Mystie with any canon character but...ughh Waka gives me the feels. And me, being a single pringle and only ready to mingle with anime characters, couldn't stop myself 🤭😳

“The operation done on Baji Keisuke was a success.” The doctor announces with a smile on his face as he watches everyone’s relieved reactions.
With the kids all shouting out in relief while you had to brace yourself, arms tightening around Baji-san as she almost falls limp in your hold, sobs racking her body while clinging to you, muttering her relief onto your shoulder. Oh… my Keisuke… sweet Keisuke…” You hear her cry out.
With a soft smile, you let her cry onto your shoulder before giving the doctor your thanks. “Thank you so much for doing your best. We really appreciate it.” You give him a small bow to which he bows back.
“Doc, when can we visit him?” Manjiro pops up from behind you, nearly making you jump as you glance towards him who looks like he’s about to cry any second now, judging from his red rimmed orbs. Draken follows behind him, also eagerly looking at the doctor who gives the two teenagers a smile.
“Well, since he still needs to recover, visitation for Baji Keisuke will be open starting tomorrow afternoon. By then, he’ll be awake already. Thankfully, there were no major organs wounded, so he’ll be ready to go in two weeks.” You nod along to his words as you gently rub Baji-san’s back, the woman slowly starting to calm down as she faces the doctor.
“Thank you so much for saving my son.” She bows which makes the doctor smile at her.
“All in the day’s work, Baji-san. But also, may I have a moment with you? I have some things that I want to discuss regarding your son’s recovery.”
With that, you watch as the doctor escorts Baji-san to his office, leaving you alone in the hallway with the kids.
Letting out a big sigh, you stretch out your arms, feeling lighter than ever as you gaze at the door of the operating room, the anxiety and nervousness slowly dissipating from your body as you turn to the kids who have now gathered by the door to take a little peek through the window.
“Well then…” Turning to you, Manjiro and the rest all look at you in expectation. “I guess we’ll have to be ready to visit Keisuke tomorrow then. What do you say we go grocery shopping?”
After a semi-hectic time with the kids in the market, you finally managed to finish up grocery shopping, going home with paper bags filled with fruits to bring to Keisuke, along with fruits to give to the kids just because they looked like they haven’t had one in a long while. Not when Manjiro is always going crazy about his kiddy meals and taiyaki.
If it weren’t for you, Draken and Emma, you’re pretty sure Manjiro will be living off of the taiyaki that he manages to have Takemichi buy him.
You’re not even sure if Manjiro pays Takemichi back.
“Now, be careful with that, okay? You might bump into someone if you’re not careful.” You remind the blond who merely gives you a small smile before leaning against the wall as he waits for you to check Baji-san’s text containing Keisuke’s room number. “Alright then, we’re gonna be going to room 110. Baji-san is currently out buying herself some food so we’ll be alone with Keisuke for a while.” Leading your little group which consists of Manjiro, Draken, Mitsuya, Kazutora, Takemichi and Chifuyu, you make sure to remind them to be quiet in order to not disturb the other patients.
Just as you’re about to turn the corner towards Keisuke’s room, you suddenly hear an alarming sound coming from the nurse’s corner followed by rushed footsteps.
Ushering the kids to the side, your group watches as the nurse rushes to one of the rooms. Sharing a look with the kids, the seven of you all shrug to each other before making your way back to looking for Keisuke’s room. But then, as your group continue to look at the rooms, a bad feeling crawls up your body when the only room left to check is the one where the nurse had rushed in.
Looking at Manjiro and Draken, you can’t help but nervously bite on your lip as you lead the group to the room, your hands being filled with Draken and Manjiro’s bigger hands which gives you a little bit of reassurance as you step into the room.
With bated breath, you enter the room first, your eyes immediately darting to the nurse who’s…
Glaring down at Keisuke with her hands on her hips while Keisuke gives her a sheepish smile, unable to maintain eye contact from the angry nurse which inevitably has him accidentally making eye contact with you. “This will be the last time I tell you this, Baji Keisuke. But if you do that again, I will tell your mother! No more playing with the heart monitor!” Letting out a huff, the nurse turns around, about to leave, but stops when she finally sees your group.
Her eyes immediately widen upon seeing your confused face. “Did… something happen here?” You ask, a little hesitant if you really want to know what happened judging from what she told Keisuke earlier. Your question makes the nurse let out a sigh, hand tiredly waving towards Keisuke who’s now whispering with the other kids.
“Well… Baji Keisuke’s heart monitor was going a little unstable when we checked, the oxygen intake was unusual so I immediately rushed into his room thinking that he was having a difficult time breathing but when I got in, I saw him watching the yellow line here on the bottom of the heart monitor.” Another sigh leaves her lips. “I thought it was something serious but turns out he just found the heart monitor amusing and thought it’ll be good to do some experiments on it.” The nurse finishes with one last look at Keisuke.
“But I must get going, I shouldn’t keep you from spending time with the patient.” With that, the nurse leaves the room.
As soon as the door closes, Manjiro, Kazutora and Keisuke all bursted out laughing before Keisuke proceeds to show them what the nurse was talking about.
And as much as it is interesting to look at, seeing the yellow line in the heart monitor be still before moving once more, you don’t think the nurses will be very happy if they see that he’s doing it again. So, with a click of your tongue, you give his forehead a harsh flick, your arms crossing in front of your chest as you look down on him. “Keisuke, stop that now… we still have a lot of things to talk about… “
Just like that, the rest of the kids all looked at you, weary and scared of what you’re gonna be talking about first.
Will it be Takemichi’s secrets?
Kazutora and his release in juvie?
The captains’ initial plan against Kisaki and Valhalla’s plan?
Just the thought of being singled out by you makes a shiver crawl up their spine though the most nervous one out of the group is Takemichi who can’t help but gulp knowing that he’s the one who started with the secrets which ended in Keisuke being hospitalised.
“So… is no one gonna start talking?”
You can't help but rub your forehead, exhaustion taking over your body as you relax on a chair by the shop, your mind unable to shake off the things that the kids had told you a few weeks ago. You’re not sure how they all managed to just accept what Takemichi had said so easily… maybe you’re getting old.
It just seems so impossible. They said that Takemichi had a vision of you being in trouble in their next fight which is why they didn’t told you about it. But also, they didn’t even explain how they could just believe that, it seemed as if they were hiding something else from you when they all explained in the hospital but you didn’t have an opportunity to question further since Keisuke’s mother had walked in the room already which put a halt in your interrogation. So now, you just have to believe that Takemichi’s some kind of psychic who magically saw your fate.
Shaking your head to maybe ease off the thoughts that’s been plaguing you for so long, you finally stand up from your chair, wiping your hands on your jeans in order to clean it a little before heading behind the counter to do some last minute cleaning before Wakasa picks you up to bring you out to eat dinner.
Since it’s been awhile since you managed to spend time with your cousin.
Just as you’re about to finish taking note of what to order tomorrow, you hear footsteps approaching. “Hey Waka, just give me a minute, I’m almost done-”
“Y/N-nee.”
Almost like you’ve been doused with cold water, goosebumps immediately rise from your skin as your head whips to his direction, eyes immediately landing on his form, dressed in a red uniform, hair cut short compared to when you last saw him. Along with that, he seems a little down, with the dark bags showing the more he steps inside the shop.
Your hand falls to your side as you look up at him, eyes slowly starting to water at just the sight of Izana standing in front of you.
Walking around the counter, you approach him, only to stop a foot away from him, afraid that you’ll scare him away if you get too close. “Izana… you’re here…” You mutter out, as if to confirm to yourself that you’re not just hallucinating him.
With a quirk of his lips, he nods, though the smile on his face seems so empty, along with his eyes. What once looked to be so lively and alluring now had no shine in them. The pretty purple that you always loved and complimented now looks so dull. It breaks your heart, makes you want to reach out and hold him, embrace him like how you did when he was a child. Like how you did with Shinichiro when you would visit him, promising him only a few more years of waiting then you’ll finally be able to take him home with you. But now… now, you stare up at a teenager who looks like he’s lost all will to keep on living the life that he once wanted so badly.
“Izana-”
“I’m here to apologise… I apologise for making you chase after me, look for me all these years. I never should’ve let you get any closer than you already did… I’ve seen the things that you had to go through… the things that you are still going through just because you’re associated with me… for being associated with Shinichiro and his family.”
You don’t know what he’s getting at.
You thought that he’d be apologising… asking for forgiveness then finally accept your proposal of taking him in… but this… this is not something that you expected.
“I just want to tell you that I really appreciate all the things that you did for me and Kakucho. And I apologise for hurting you so much, running away from you when you were already in so much pain from what happened with Shinichiro. I didn’t mean to blame you for still having those kids stick around… it must’ve been what Shinichiro wanted-”
“Wh-what’re you talking about Izana?” Staring up at him, you try to take a step closer to him but he only takes a step back. “Aren’t you- why’re you apologising? Whata re you saying?! I-I thought that you were here to stay… but why do you sound like you’re gonna disappear forever?”
“I can’t stay here with you… you’ve already gone through so much, Y/N-nee… you’re not supposed to be hurting this much for so long but because of me… because you keep on trying to take me home, your pain is just getting worse and worse. That’s why I’m here to say that you don’t need to take me in anymore… I’ll be fine on my own, I’ll survive. You don’t need to add me to your burdens anymore, okay? I’m sure Shinichiro will understand-”
“But you’re not one of my burdens! You never were! What do you mean I’m hurting because of you? You never were the cause of any of my pain or hardships. There may be times where your words had hurt me but I can easily forgive you. I… I just want you to be happy, Izana. Shinichiro and I want you to be happy with your siblings…”
“They’re not my siblings. They never were.” Izana reminds you, a hard look settling in on his face the more he looks at you as you reason to him.
“What makes you think that they won’t accept you as one, Izan-”
“Because no one would want to be related to me, Y/N! No one would want to be related to someone like me who knows nothing but to destroy and be alone and be left behind! All I know now is to survive through power and violence! Do you want me to destroy the little peace that you found?! Do you always want to be reminded of the dreams that you never achieved with Shinichiro?! Is that what you want?” With his chest heaving, Izana points at you, tears threatening to spill as he glares at you. “Or.. do you want that? Do you want to be trapped in your own fantasy of thinking that Shinichiro is still here? You’ve been in this shop for so long… the same shop where Shinichiro died… how can you live like this? How can you go on when you’re still surrounded by everything that you wished to achieve with him?”
With every word shouted at you, it almost feels like a repeat of what happened a few months ago in the alley, the pain slowly rises in your chest, but instead of letting the tears slip, you smile at him, your hands reaching out to him, fingers softly caressing his cheeks.
“I just want you to be able to live. I don’t want you to merely survive… I want you to enjoy life, Izana. And if you could just open your heart, I’ll show you… I’ll show you that your siblings are waiting for you. They want you in their lives and I know that you want them too… so please… I won’t force you to stay, but if you’ve finally made up your mind, just know, I’ll be here waiting for you. Shinichiro and I will always be waiting for you, rooting for you, you’re not alone, Izana. And I promise. I won’t ever leave you behind.”
Silence takes over the two of you, with your hands still cupping his cheeks, no matter how much it’s starting to strain with how much taller he’s gotten compared to when he was merely a child. It brings the tears in your eyes to slowly cascade down your cheeks, the thought that your small Izana, the child who was so energetic and lovely and sweet could be broken by the world.
How could the cruelty even think of taking a hold of him?
Your little angel.
Sweet angel.
“Do you… do you promise?” By now, your fingers are slowly getting damp with the tears dripping down his cheeks.
With a smile, you nod your head, thumb slowly wiping away his tears. “I promise-”
Both of you freeze up when you hear an engine outside followed by a bunch of voices.
With panic overtaking his vision, Izana pulls away from you, stuffing his hands in his pockets before darting outside of the shop, barely managing to evade your cousin’s sight as he walks inside. “Y/N, who was that just now?” Wakasa asks as he finds you with tear streaked cheeks, standing in the middle of the shop while looking in the direction of where Izana had left.
“That was… Izana…”
Your cousin momentarily freezes, taking in your answer before he looks over to the direction of the exit. “What did he do?”
“He was-”
“Hey Y/N-nee!” Suddenly, you jump from fright when you’re almost tackled to the ground by Keisuke and Manjiro, the two kids giving you bright smiles while the rest of the kids follow inside the shop. “C’mon! Haruto said earlier that he’ll cook us all something special at the diner!”
With a strained smile, you nod at all of the kids as they all begin running out of the shop once more and hopping onto their bikes, already heading to the diner without waiting for either of you two.
Sighing, Wakasa gives you a look as the two of you start closing up the shop. “We’ll talk about this later.”

MASTERLIST
Sano Shinichiro x f!Reader
Word Count: 1.9k
Genre: Established Relationship, Fluff, Crack, Angst
Warning: Spoiler warnings, Blood, Knife, Violence
Synopsis: Drabbles of your life being Sano Shinichiro's girlfriend.
Chapter 45 Chapter 46 Chapter 47
After Manjiro leaves you by the gates, you immediately try to shrug the secrets off of your mind as you make your way to the shop to start another rigorous day at work. But as your day goes by, you can’t help but think about what Manjiro said. About how Takemichi has specifically told the other kids to not tell you anything about the fight. Along with that, you’re also quite curious about the ‘in danger’ part.
Everything just seems a little too strange to be something that was just made up.
And of course, Kazutora getting out of juvie and keeping it a secret from you also makes you feel a little anxious.
They all just seem to have so many secrets from you and it wouldn’t have bothered you all that much if you didn’t know that it had something to do with you.
What if they’re doing something dangerous?
Something illegal?
Of course, you wouldn’t even want to think about any of them doing something like that, not when you tried your best to raise them properly as much as you can as an adult in their life. You’d like to think that they’re responsible enough to know to not dabble on illegal things. Especially when there’s Draken and Mitsuya keeping the group sane. But alas, your uneasiness only grows the longer you stay inside the shop without any news from any of them.
By now, Manjiro or Keisuke would have sent you a text or called you.
Or even Emma would stop by the shop to ask you for something. Or to ask permission to go out with Draken. But nothing. It’s like all of the kids are ignoring you right now.
Letting out a sigh, you finally start cleaning up, finally done with the last of the repairs for this afternoon, mind still full with thoughts of what the kids can be doing that they need to keep it a secret from you.
Sending in a text to the customer to inform them that they can pick up their bike by tomorrow morning, you start to clean up your workspace to prepare for another customer that will be arriving in 30 minutes when suddenly, you receive a call. Walking back to the counter, your anxiety rises when you see Haruchiyo’s name.
Immediately, you answer the call, putting the phone against your ear as you lean against the counter. “Haruchiyo, what’s wrong?”
All you can hear from the other side is heavy breathing along with some pained grunts and what seems to be metal hitting metal.
It gives you goosebumps, the hair on your arms standing up from the metallic sounds that instantly gives you flashbacks of the horrific night that happened here in the shop a few years ago.
Just the sound alone makes your body thrum with nerves as you wait for anyone to speak into the phone, your fingers tapping on the smooth surface. “Haruchiyo, what’s happening-”
“Y/N-nee… I think you need to go here immediately… something’s happening… and I don’t think we can get out of this in one piece if you don’t come…” Haruchiyo finally speaks through the phone, sounding a little breathless and muffled, probably from his mask that he insists on wearing all the time.
Without even thinking about it, you immediately put on Shinichiro’s Black Dragon jacket, hand taking out the keys in the pockets before barely closing the shop’s door. You’re driving off to where Haruchiyo said the fight was taking place as fast as you can. You have half a mind to call Wakasa and ask him to check on the shop once he’s free due to your emergency.
It takes you about five minutes before you’re parking in front of the junkyard, eyes widening at the sight in front of you.
It seems like there are hundreds of kids just duking it out in the middle of the scrap yard with the exception of some who are standing by the piles of cars on the side.
But what really catches your eye is Keisuke standing on top of a small mountain of cars while wearing a white gang jacket, an accusing finger pointed at another kid with tan skin and blond hair who looks all but pleased at the words that Keisuke is yelling.
Looking around, you run over to them, dodging the kids who are still fighting in order to make it to the hill.
By the time you’re close enough, you finally see Kazutora being pinned down by some tall guy with bleached hair in the middle, smirking down on Kazutora so menacingly that it makes you scared of what he’s planning to do with him. Manjiro and Draken are both in the middle of the circle, both of them bloodied and beaten, but so do the other guys.
“Kisaki, the captains already know what you’re planning! You think you’re so smart, playing with us like that, but I already discovered your plan before you even joined Toman-”
“Shut up! Mikey, you can’t really believe what this idiot is talking about?! He’s a traitor! He left Toman to join Valhalla!” Kisaki yells out again at Manjiro who hardens his gaze at Kisaki before facing Draken and nodding.
In a flash, a fight breaks out, with Manjiro running towards the tall guy that’s pinning Kazutora to the ground. It takes only a few kicks and punches for the tall guy to let out a chuckle as he lays down on the ground with Manjiro sitting on his chest while continuously punching him in the face.
You don’t have time to even think of trying to stop Manjiro when you’re met with Draken running towards Kisaki only to be blocked by a handful of guys who he immediately goes through with each punch. All the while, Keisuke is looking down on Kisaki with a smirk on his face.
It almost feels like a normal fight until you catch on the corner of your eye, a guy with the same white jacket as Keisuke, Kazutora and the tall guy. But he also has a mask covering his face.
Eyes widening when you catch the glint on his hand, you immediately yell out Keisuke’s name which makes Draken, Manjiro, Kazutora and Keisuke turn to you, not knowing the danger that’s coming right behind them.
Running towards Keisuke, you pull him to the side as fast as you can while your other hand tries to push the guy away from coming near Keisuke. Unfortunately, you’re only able to make the other guy stumble for a bit before glaring at you and punching you straight on the cheek before running towards Keisuke who’s finally aware of the knife that’s in the guy’s hand. Cursing under your breath, you immediately jump to your feet, hand striking the guy right on the nose which makes him sputter, stumbling on his own feet before falling off of the pile of cars. Huffing, you turn to Keisuke, about to ask him if he’s okay but then, you’re met with the sight of Keisuke staring at his abdomen.
Looking down as well, you feel your stomach drop when blood starts to seep into his clothes, staining the white jacket that he’s wearing while the knife is buried deep into his stomach. Running towards him, you call over to Manjiro and Draken, giving them your phone so that they can call an ambulance while you help Keisuke lay down, his legs starting to shake when he looks up at you, fear in his eyes.
“Oh Kei, oh no baby…” You mutter, hands gripping tightly onto his in order to not let him fall to the ground from how much he’s shaking.
Even with the chuckle that leaves his lips - trying his best to seem like he’s not afraid of what’s about to happen, you can still see the way his face is starting to pale, lips drying up no matter how much he licks them. “You’re gonna be okay, Keisuke, just, don’t move too much, you might fall to the ground… don’t want you getting bruised up, your mum would throw a fit…” Looking up at Manjiro and Draken, they tell you that the ambulance is on their way.
As for Kazutora, he already went to the other Toman captains in order to tell them that they need to leave the area as soon as possible. “Baji-san!” Chifuyu yells out as he makes his way to where you are with Takemichi in tow.
Helping Keisuke so that he can lay on the ground, you cradle his face, hands shakily caressing his face, unable to stop yourself from tearing up when Keisuke coughs only for blood to trail down the corner of his lips. Gently, you wipe it away. “Just hold on for me, Kei. Hold on for your mum… she wouldn’t want to hear any bad news now, would she?”
“Yeah… she’s still at work… she’d have a heart attack if she hears it while in the middle of a shift…” He tries to chuckle only for a cough to force itself out of his lips, resulting in blood splattering on your cheek.
“Sorry…” Trying to raise his hand to wipe it away, he only gets half way before his hand falls back to his side, limp and unable to move. From the distance, you can faintly hear the sirens going off, quickly becoming louder which gives you a little bit more hope into the situation until you look down at Keisuke to tell him what’s happening only to see him trying so hard to open his eyes.
The sight of his eyes slowly closing makes Chifuyu and Takemichi panic even ore by your side, the two teenagers almost falling to their knees as they shout his name, all the while, you pull him a little closer to you, muttering his name under your breath as you make him look you in the eye, trying your best to make him stay awake a little longer.
“Just… don’t go, Keisuke… Don’t go, not yet…”
Rushing inside the hospital with Manjiro and his friends in tow, it almost puts fresh tears in your eyes as you’re reminded of the instances that you needed to be in the hospital. Not once did you have a good memory of being inside these white stoic white walls.
Not when you’ve lost and almost lost the people that you hold so dearly in your heart.
Shinichiro… Draken… and now, Keisuke.
You don’t know if you’ll be able to handle another if this surgery doesn’t go well.
One was enough.
One was too much.
You got lucky that Draken survived it.
But now, you don’t know how much luck you have in your lifetime.
Resting your head on your palm as you sit on the chair by the Operating Room, with the kids all strewn about in the hallway, the sight of them all looking sick with anxiety only worsens the state of your heart. Unable to calm down the longer the operation lasts.
Then, you hear hurried footsteps. Looking up, you’re met with tears streaking down flawless skin, nose and eyes reddened as Baji-san makes her way to you.
Standing up from your seat, you meet her in the middle, engulfing her in your arms as she cries onto you, unable to hold in her own tears which triggers your owns. “L/N-chan… h-how’s my Keisuke? How is he?” She sobs out, hands gripping onto your shirt.
Shaking your head, you pull her in even closer. “We still don’t know, Baji-sa-”
Suddenly, the door to the operation room opens, your eyes immediately landing on the surgeon who bows in front of you. “The operation done on Baji Keisuke was-”

Toman x Sister!Reader Headcanons (Part 2)
Genre : Fluff, fluff and more fluff
Topic : Headcanons
Disclaimer : Gang violence, purely platonic/sibling relationship, no incest!
Matsuno Chifuyu
– THIS ONE. okay, so I imagine him to be a younger brother. Y'know like a year or two mayhaps
– Chifuyu is the "Imma help in your crazy shenanigans but I won't hesitate to throw you under the bus"
– No but seriously, having Chifuyu as a younger brother means there's no ceasing of amusement
– I hc [Y/n] and Chifuyu to be opposites. Like Smiley and Angry but more feral?
– ya'll might be different but one thing everyone will agree on is cat. Cats. CATS.
– If you're a dog lover, ya'll are pretty chill on this department and leave each other to your own devices.
– constant fighting over Peke J and the black cat is low-key traumatized lol
– since you're the older one, you're always expected to be the responsible one (lmao I could never and yet I have three gremlins following me like ducklings. Good luck ^_^)
– he's the type of mf to bribe you with movie marathons or straight up money to shut you up from snitching. You still gonna snitch when he comes home all bruised up
– in this situation, I imagine [Y/n] to neither be studious not quite delinquent-y. she's the average, bored with high-school kinda girl
– however, if you're the type to actually focus on schoolwork, Chifuyu will always go to you for homework explanation and old notes. Cue you sitting through explaining the whole periodic table to him
– if you're into picking fights though, he won't hesitate to challenge you. tries to one-up you and fails every. damn. time.
– you joining a gang won't bother him much but only if he knows atleast one person from said gang.
– if it's Toman, he'd be somewhat embarrassed b'cuz he's a whole 'nother persona near Baji
– oh, and teasing him on his puppy crush on Baji is a routine ritual for you
– just for blackmailing purposes, he'd try to dig up information about your dating life.
– at first it was with an ulterior motive of getting back at you because he knows his sister is capable of mental torture if not physical but then if he finds out your bf/gf, prepare to be teased to the end of times
– is kinda a curious baby tho <3 and will always sneak around if you have your partner over
– will defo give them a cat-like glare, a silent warning not to inflict any harm on his dear sis
– at the end of the day, he is quite the lil shit and your younger days were often spent bickering like it's WW2 but he still loves you
– from discussing shojo manga, to painting each other's nails to borrowing each other's graphic tees, it all comes under the 'Chifuyu sister package'
– this cat lover isn't overprotective but if it comes to that, he won't hesitate to uppercut anyone who disrespects you
– he might hide it well under layers of snark and sassy comments but he majorly respects you
– you're codependent and he won't want anyone else to annoy, roast and love because he only got one badass big sis and he won't ever wish to replace you
– in Toman, I hc [Y/n] having a crush on either Nahoya (Smiley) or Mikey. You're all passive aggressive, man-children and just instantly click. Either will be happy to share your vibe and get chaotic together.
Keisuke Baji
– let's get this straight, Baji is an aggressive person
– he is blunt with anyone and everyone and it's don't matter if that's his twin sis
– I kind of see you being equally or somewhat close to his level of cocky, hyped person
– one to def give you weirdass nicknames like "skunk-butt", "sloth", "booger". Don't be afraid to reciprocate the favor
– I see [Y/n] and Baji getting all physical in fights. It's never just words. Never.
– my boy has a habit of flicking your forehead or pinching your sides. He's doesn't even do it consciously at this point.
– the type to enter your room, snatch your phone, shut off the the lights and walk away WITHOUT. CLOSING. THE. DOOR. smh— the audacity
– let's be honest, he had no idea of personal space and why should he? He's been with your ever since you were born!
– the amount of strays ya'll bring in— your mom's about to lose her shit
– see, I don't think you'd understand but sharing Baji's genes means there's no way in hell you prefer studies over causing mayhem
– he's boutta commit arson? Guess who his helping hand is
– Keisuke isn't at all against you joining gangs but it better not be anything other than Toman. he helped create the gang, tf you mean you're gonna join some other gang?
– as much as Baji likes being nosey, he isn't that much into dating and stuff
– your dating life doesn't interest him but he'll make sure your partner knows what they're in for if they dare break your heart
– arguments with him are a common occurrence. ya'll just butt heads a lot
– don't get me wrong, Baji is mean but he isn't that childish. He knows when to take his teasing down some notches
– had made a vow to himself to never physically harm you with an intent to hurt not bring up past experiences and mistakes
– you know every secret about each other but bringing those up is a big no-no
– if you're somehow, by some miracle an attentive student, he still doesn't give two shits. Notes? He doesn't need them. He'll fail anyway
– Baji and you, while being reckless most of the time, are extremely loyal to each other
– Same gang or not, you're his twin and always his first priority. On bad days he gives the warmest hugs and buys you your favorite drink without uttering a single word
– he's down to just shut up for once and listen if you're going through a tough time or are insecure about something
– his comfort is hidden in comments such as "What do you have to be ashamed about? You're my twin and we share nda or something like that. You're related to me, dumbass."
– Since Baji is a founder, you're pretty close to the rest of the boys.
– I imagine [Y/n]'s crush being on Mitsuya. Just like with Draken's sister and Baji, you and Mitsuya are complete opposites.
– he's reliable and you're low-key a danger-magnet. if you two ever get into a relationship, he's gonna be the grounding factor while you bring out his wild side. it's a balanced relationship.

Mitsuya x Fem!Reader Begin Again: Ch. 12
[Previous Chapter] -- [Masterlist] -- [Next Chapter]
Mitsuya's actually a god for having pulled off those outfits in such a short time frame last chapter. I must've stayed on that spread for a good few minutes taking it all in while tears hung on my eyes.
But Wakui really hit us with the "the real award was the friends we along the way." This mfing troll... You gotta respect it.
Also, I wanna go to the TokyoRev Exhibition so bad! That giant golden Mikey statue posed as a Sleeping Buddha is some next level stuff ROFL.
And thanks for all the new follows and likes <3
---
Hushed murmurs and chattered roused all of Toman after Mikey announced the firing of the third division captain, Kisaki Tetta.
“What’re you saying, Mikey?” the tanned boy inquired in confusion. “Is this a joke?”
“I’m not joking,” he tersely replied and repeated himself. Not knowing what to say, Kisaki stood there stunned; he didn’t consider to factor in the possibility of being kicked out of the gang with his foiled plan. It was then the sixth division captain, Hanma Shuji, stepped up and said he’d be leaving too if the third division captain was fired, leveraging Toman would shrink down to 100 without the additional 350 made up of former Moebius and Valhalla members. The numbers game on the commander seemed to have been no use, stating they’ve gotten too big lately anyway. This was his way in trimming the unnecessary fat.
“Gotten too big?” Kisaki finally found his voice again. “Isn’t that Toman’s goal, Mikey?!”
“Then, was your instigation of the Christmas Conflict done to make us bigger?” the blond commander rebutted. The sudden chatter among members gave way again, some not believing he was the person behind the whole fiasco. Mikey then revealed what Mitsuya and Chifuyu reported to him regarding the events that transpired.
“I’ve ignored your underhanded methods in expanding Toman up until now… It ends here,” he firmly stated.
Feeling vile sense of panic rising from his stomach, the tanned blond made his way to the stairs to try to reason with the commander.
“You’d grown weak! Taiju was a threat to Toman!” he desperately lashed out. “I acted for your sake!”
His attempt to ascend the stairs was blocked by Draken, reminding him of his place. In the blink of an eye, he blocked an incoming punch by Hanma with his left arm. (Y/N) was confident in her reflexes, but seeing how the sixth division captain moved scared her; it was as if his instincts were to purely fight. Personally, she knew she could take him on, but if it’s on speed alone, it would’ve been an easy victory for him.
Tossing his pride aside, Kisaki once again pleaded with Mikey rethink his decision, spinning the fact he alone can help make Toman powerful. He vowed to take on the darkness that bred with its size so only the commander alone could shine.
“You can’t achieve your dream on lip service alone, Mikey!” Kisaki beseeched. “So, reconsider this.”
Toman’s commander gave the former third division captain a look of disappointment and turned his back on him. “We’re through, Kisaki,” he finalized. “Your unpredictable choices will screw up my dream.”
The gaudy, tanned blond fell to his knees, reeling in the defeat in his inability to convince Toman’s top to keep him. With Draken calling an end to the meeting, the group disbanded for the night. (Y/N) took one last look at the tanned blond's devastated form with his partner in crime hovering over him before making her way to the back of the shrine with the rest of the captains. She didn't like either of them one bit; they both have the same aura. Putting her thoughts aside, she advanced up to the vice commander.
“What the hell was that shit you pulled, Draken?!” she huffed angrily looking up at him, finally dropping the honorific. “Tokyo Kitsune?! Don’t put me on the spot like that!”
“Listen, it was Mikey’s idea,” the lanky boy shot back. “Take it up with him. I’m just the messenger.”
“Mikey!” she yelled and chased after him. “Get your ass back here! I see you trying to duck away, you jerk!”
“It all worked out, didn’t it?” he casually replied with a happy grin as (Y/N) snaked her arm around his neck with ominous intent. “Kitsune’s officially under Toman now.”
“’Officially’ my ass!” She tightened her grip and put the commander in a headlock. “You jerry rigged this whole fuckin’ thing to coerce me into announcin’ it like I was the main entree on a silver platter, dick bag! Die!”
None of the Toman captains and vice captains knew what to do, seeing Mitsuya’s childhood friend choke the life out of their precious commander. And if they were being honest with themselves at this very moment, they were vicariously enjoying it through her because they knew for a fact Mikey would one-shot them all with his high kick.
Ah, the perks of being female, they all collectively thought.
“(Y/N)-chan, I think you’ve gone far enough,” Mucho finally stepped in. “Please let Mikey go.”
Clicking her tongue, she roughly released her vice grip around his neck and crossed her arms, huffing a breath. Mikey thanked the fifth division captain and wrapped his arm around (Y/N)’s shoulder like they've been buddies forever.
“If that headlock was the price of gaining a new friend into Toman, so be it,” he stated light-heartedly with a chuckle while rubbing his neck. “And your strength’s no joke, (Y/N). That really hurt! It might leave a bruise.”
“You take karate, don’t you? I’m sure all the capillaries in your body’s used to the beating,” she pointed out, unfazed by his comment.
The two continued bantering on with the rest of the captains joining in. Mitsuya watched from afar and smiled to himself, feeling a little relieved. He thought confessing to her would make things awkward and it didn’t seem to be the case right now. All he can do right now is wait and see what may come from it.
“Phew, that was a helluva meeting though,” Smiley sighed. “To think that asshole Kisaki spurred this whole thing…”
“This may be a random question…” (Y/N) called for everyone’s attention. “What were your impressions of him when he joined?”
“I had my reservations ‘bout him and Hanma. But we needed someone to helm the third division since Pah-chin went to jail,” Mitsuya answered first. “Takemitchy was so against it, he slugged him right in the face during his appointment ceremony.”
“Oh, that’s right… That happened,” the blond pompadour boy sheepishly replied, suddenly remembering the pain in his gut and face. “After I woke up from being punched by him, I told Mikey he was bad news and was trying to convince him to kick him out.”
“I was wondering what the hell Mikey was thinkin’,” Draken answered with honesty.
“So I’m not the only one then…” she muttered and hugged herself, still remembering her brief encounter with him not too long ago. “He had a really bad vibe.”
“What kinda vibe was that?” Mucho asked stoically.
“Being near him felt like… he was suffocating my soul with his dark intents. But he was clever and cautious enough to not rouse suspicion from any of you, particularly from Mucho-kun.”
"In retrospect, I should've kept a closer eye on him," the muscular captain replied with a neutral tone.
Hugging herself tighter, her core shook with uncertainty something big was going to happen. Not wanting to manifest this to reality, she kept it in her mouth.
“Just… Be careful, okay? All of you,” she heeded with concern in her voice.
“What for?” asked Draken.
“Call it women’s intuition. I don’t wanna say anymore.”
Why was Kisaki so obsessed with growing Toman’s numbers? To what end was he willing to use underhanded methods to achieve whatever his goal is? How many more lives was he going to play with? All these questions swam in her head with no answer in sight; the most important thing was he was kicked.
Observing her tense body language, the vice commander decided not to push the issue any further. Everyone went their separate ways after calling it for the night. As if by habit, Mitsuya threw the spare helmet at (Y/N) to catch. Hesitantly getting on Impulse, she tightened the helmet on top of her head before loosely wrapping her arms around his torso.
“You can hug a little tighter, y’know,” he encouraged with a lopsided smirk. “You’re not gonna choke me.”
The ride back home was quiet but not tense. Confession aside, the two were simply enjoying each other’s company. Feeling exhaustion creep up with his bike's calm revving in the mix like a lullaby, (Y/N) rested her head on his back with half-lidded eyes before drifting off. There was always something comforting she found about Mitsuya’s back; it was like a security blanket. The lilac haired boy decided to ride a little slower to prevent her from falling over and to stretch their time together. Pulling up around the corner of her building complex, he turned the engine off before gently nudging his friend with his left shoulder.
“(Y/N)…” he softly called. “We’re here.”
Letting out a breathy moan, she let out a quick sigh and sat up straight to stretch her arms out, hearing her shoulder joints crack. Thanking him for the lift, she hopped off of the bike and returned the helmet.
“How’s your finals prep going?” he asked to make conversation.
“It’s going. I’m just aiming for the public schools with some kinda design program.”
“We may end up at the same school then,” Mitsuya said with a light chuckle.
“Mi-tan, listen…” She fidgeted with her fingertips, not making eye contact. “About what you said on New Years--”
“Let me take you out on a date,” he jumped in with his proposal, making her look up with surprise. “I feel like I pushed my feelings onto you without considering yours.” Hopping off of Impulse, he walked to her and tenderly grasped her hands, staring at her with those calm, lavender eyes.
“Besides, I owe you a meal for Christmas,” he finished with a cheerful grin.
“I… actually forgot about that,” she blinked in realization.
“You? Forget free food?” he teased. “That’s a shocker.”
“Rude.”
Mitsuya and (Y/N) broke out in a light fit of laughter to break the tension.
“And if I say no?” she challenged with a cocked eyebrow, her gaze holding onto his.
“Would you say no?” he responded with a low, deep voice almost to the point of whispering. She stayed silent and continued looking at her friend without any reaction.
“Would you?” he asked a little louder this time with mild concern and knitted eyebrows.
“I’m thinking,” she coolly replied and playfully batted her eyelashes.
“Need another moment?” he quipped with a small tone of annoyance.
“I like seeing you sweat,” (Y/N) finally answered with a coltish roll of her eyes. “But I guess I’ll say yes. You’re really twisting my arm here.”
--
Since the end of the Christmas Conflict, the streets of Tokyo were seemingly much more peaceful as of late. (Y/N) found herself spacing out from studying chemistry. English was a breeze since she had first-hand conversational and writing experience with foreign exchange students at her old middle school. They were the only people who weren’t afraid to talk to her.
This wasn’t the problem right now.
It was her date with Mitsuya. All she had to wear were over sized tops and jeans. Nothing to make her look feminine at all. With her tight budget, it’s not like she could go on a shopping spree to buy a whole new wardrobe either.
She rested her head on her table with a muffled thud and groaned out loud.
“Why do I do this to myself?” she said to herself aloud and lightly slammed her forehead on the hard surface with soft thuds, suddenly wondering about her masochistic tendencies.
Her mobile phone started ringing and drew her attention away from inside her head to pick up the call.
“Emma-chan? What’s up?”
“Ah, (Y/N)? Are you free right now?”
“Technically, no, but my brain can’t study anymore,” she lamented and rubbed her temple. “If I see another science formula in my eyelids, I’m gonna scream.”
“Oh good! Let’s make some sweets together then!” the younger Sano suggested.
“So… you’re stress baking?”
“No, for Valentine’s Day!” Emma exclaimed.
“Isn’t it kinda early?” she asked.
“Well, I wanna do a test run,” she elaborated. “I bought a recipe book, but I can’t decide what to make for Draken…”
“Sure, why not?” (Y/N) agreed with a light shrug of her shoulders. “I need to air out my brain. Oh, I have pictures to give you.”
“Great! I’ll call Hina over too and we can make it a girl’s day,” she cheerfully replied.
The two said their good-byes and hung up. Slowly standing on her feet, (Y/N) let out a big stretch and yawned before getting ready. She reached the Sano residence in 30 minutes on foot with Emma greeting her at the door. Coming here by herself felt weird without the Toman captains for some reason.
“Hina’ll be here soon,” Emma announced as she took (Y/N) upstairs to her room; it was exactly how she imagined it: cute, girly, warm and soft. Her bed had a magenta pink bear resting by her pillow and the walls had scattered photos of family and Toman members, particularly with Draken, Mikey, a boy with long, flowing raven black hair and the other captains. On the table in the middle of her room had scattered recipe books of sweets with taped bookmarks on the edges along with a small bowl of snacks prepared ahead of time.
The doorbell rang downstairs not long after; Emma ran down to let Hina in while (Y/N) snacked on some chips. The girls greeted one another and got to talking. She then gave each of them a copy of their photos.
Emma flipped through the pictures happily. “These came out so good, (Y/N)!”
“The touch-ups took a lot longer than expected. Mikey picked a lot of the Christmas ones when he came over.”
Hina stopped at a specific photo and started blushing; she was staring at a photo of her and Takemichi looking at each other starry eyed during dinner. The next photo was of Emma and Draken mid-conversation with Mikey to the side eating happily, followed with more candid group shots leading up to New Year’s. Hina then revealed one where it was Draken, (Y/N) with a dumb grin on her face and Mitsuya talking. She and Emma couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“Ah…” she suddenly remembered and inwardly winced from embarrassment. “I think Yuzu-chan took this when I was drunk… I’ve never felt so betrayed, even though it’s a good one.” Having gone through all the photos, they then turned their attention to the scattered recipe books.
“I was thinking of making Draken a cake…” Emma started off.
“That’s gonna be hard for him to carry, no?” (Y/N) asked. “Since he’ll most likely be on Zephyr.”
“I swear, that bike…” the blonde grumbled.
“Emma sees Zephyr as her rival,” Hina clarified with an uneasy smile.
“I mean, if I had a bike I built from scratch, I’d probably feel the same way…” she trailed off nervously.
“Are you siding with Zephyr now?!” Emma huffed defensively and slammed her hands on the low table.
“No! Of course not!” (Y/N) exclaimed, holding her hands out in a neutral manner. “I mean, it’s not like a bike can cook so…”
Having seemed to have calmed down, Emma went back to flipping through the pages in one of the recipe books as she sighed with relief. Eventually settling on cookies and truffles, the three shuffled their way down to the kitchen to start testing recipes.
“Who will you be making these for?” Hina asked (Y/N).
“Eh? Ah…” She thought for a short beat and scratched the side of her face. “I just thought of giving them to the Toman captains as obligatory chocolates.”
“Boo~” Emma jeered. “I won’t let you make any if it’s gonna be something boring like that.”
“Why don’t you make some for Mitsuya-kun?” the rose brown haird girl suggested with a smile, making (Y/N) immediately look away with blotches of pink dotting the apples of her cheeks and coughed from choking on her own spit.
“Ohhh ho ho ho?” Emma tittered and got up close to her with a sly look. “Did something happen?”
“N-Not in particular…” she mumbled out while continuing to avoid eye contact and inwardly screamed at her body for betraying her feelings.
“That blush says otherwise.”
“Emma-chan, take it easy on her,” Hina playfully tutted.
“I’m…” she came forward with hesitation. “I’m not good with this… girl talk stuff. So… Give me some time, yeah?”
“Of course. Sorry if I was being pushy,” Emma apologized.
The three finalized the ingredients and recipes they were going to test. (Y/N) got to setting up a double boiler on the stove top to melt some chocolates for truffles while Hina and Emma respectively worked on the dough for checkered cookies. Feeling the kitchen was too quiet, Emma ran upstairs and brought her small boombox from her room down to play some music from her favourite radio station. Everything was either chilling or baking after another hour. As if by magic, the sweetness of the cookies filled the Sano household with a sense of home and warmth.
“Something smells really good,” Mikey suddenly entered the kitchen and was surprised to see the two guests sitting with his sister. He greeted them warmly.
“We’re testing some stuff,” (Y/N) told him. “It’s for—mmph!”
The female Sano immediately covered her mouth from spilling any more information. For someone as petite as her, she surprisingly had a lot of strength. She knew Mikey would definitely hang this over her head, especially if it’s anything to do with Draken.
“I just thought of playing around with some recipes for fun,” Emma nervously explained with a light blush and awkward laugh.
“Hmm…” Mikey gave his sister a nonchalant look. Before he can prod any more, the doorbell rung at the main entrance, followed with the opening of the sliding door.
“It’s nice and warm in here,” a familiar voice noted and rubbed his hands together. “And smells sweet.”
“Ah, good timing, Ken-chin,” Mikey greeted his best friend. “The girls are makin’—”
“Gaah! Out! Out! Out!” Emma exclaimed and pushed her brother from the kitchen and into the hallway, out of fear of ruining the surprise. He collided with the tall boy's torso.
“What the—?! Emma?!”
She slammed the sliding door right in Mikey’s face.
“No boys allowed in here!” she shouted from the other side.
(Y/N) used a bathroom break as an excuse to take a breather. Letting out an audible breath, she vacated the washing closet and decided to sneak outside for some fresh air. Sliding open one of the wooden partitions in the living room, she tucked herself into her thick sweater and looked at her white breath floating up to the air in the wintry afternoon sky.
“(Y/N)?” Mikey’s voice called from the left end of the residence. “That you?”
She made her way over and saw him and Draken doing maintenance on Babu.
“I need a small break from the girl talk.” She tilted her neck slightly to the left and let out a small crack; she sighed in relief. “Never thought it’d be that intense. Ah…” She reached into her back pocket and handed each of them a white envelope of photos. The two thanked her and placed them aside so it wouldn’t get dirty.
“This is the first time she’s kicked me outta the kitchen when she’s making something,” Mikey pouted while waiting for the oil on his bike to drain out onto the pan below.
“Well…” She scratched the back of her head awkwardly. “It’s sort of a surprise and she didn’t wanna ruin—”
“She’s making stuff for Valentine’s Day, right?” he interrupted. “She does it every year! So why’s this time any different?”
“Ask her, not me,” she flatly replied, not wanting to get in the middle of their sibling squabble.
“So what’ll you be making, (Y/N)-chan?” Draken asked as he opened a new can of oil for Mikey to put into his bike.
“Truffles,” she briskly answered. “Though it’s just obligatory chocolates…”
“Huh? You’re not makin’ ‘em for Mitsuya?” the vice commander questioned with slight confusion.
“Okay,” she sighed and placed her hands on her hips. “What’s with all the Mi-tan talk today?”
“I mean, he does like you,” Mikey pointed out.
(Y/N) wordlessly stuttered as her face blushed two shades of red and turned her back to the boys to regain composure.
“Oh you didn’t know?” Draken casually asked. “He was staring at you all night when we were at the temple on New Years.”
“I’m not… having this conversation right now.” She knitted her eyes shut, not wanting to think about their upcoming date. “Especially with you two.”
“If anything, we two are the best for you to talk to,” Draken pointed out with a mischievous smirk. “He’s pretty popular with the girls, y’know. We can tell you all 'bout his type, who's confessed, his pe—”
“DON’T. NEED. TO KNOW!” she shouted out of embarrassment and annoyance in Sendai dialect, her face a nice shade of tomato red now. (Y/N) stomped back into the house with a slam of the partition door. The dragon tattooed boy guffawed loudly.
“Ken-chin… Rare of you to say stuff like that.”
“I was in a teasin’ mood,” he answered back with a toothy grin and chuckled, feeling satisfied for the payback she dealt him about Emma.
Recomposing herself at the door, she entered the kitchen to see the cookies were done. Partaking in the freshly baked good, she took a bite of the cookie; it was mildly sweet and buttery. She chased the treat down with a sip of the rose milk tea Emma brewed. It was like a piece of heaven touching her tongue. (Y/N)’s face showed a sudden expression of inner peace and tranquility, as if a halo radiated behind her.
This was what she needed after that weird exchange.
After sampling the cookies, they got to making a simplified version of truffles. Emma wanted to buy cute molds to pour the chocolates in, but were too pricey. (Y/N) demonstrated how to do it by spooning the chilled ganache into her hand. Rolling the cool treat in her palms to form into a ball, she then placed it into the bowl of cocoa powder to coat it and dropped it in clean bowl so it can be chilled after.
In the end, they made more than expected due to (Y/N) accidentally melting too much chocolate. After the last one was rolled, they put the bowl into the fridge and cleaned up while waiting for them to set; another hour later, they were ready to eat. Mikey and Draken then barged into the kitchen to get something to drink.
“Mikey!” Emma tutted. “Didn’t I say you weren’t allowed—”
“Whoa! Chocolates!” her brother stared at the bowl all starry eyed. “They look so good!”
“Emma-chan, I’m sure we can let them eat some,” (Y/N) advocated with a sympathetic tone. “It’s a lot for the three of us.”
“Besides,” Hina chimed in with a smile. “We need them to taste test, right?”
The two boys took one truffle each and ate it, carefully tasting it.
“How is it?” Emma asked nervously.
“It’s not as sweet as I thought it’d be,” Mikey commented and licked the cocoa powder off of his thumb. “But still good.”
“It's good but...” Draken thought for a beat. “Maybe something crunchy to go with it?”
After the sweets were polished off, Hina left since she promised to meet up with Takemichi for a little bit before heading home.
“What’ll you do, (Y/N)-chan?” Emma asked and sipped her tea.
“I don’t wanna go back yet,” she groaned out with slumped shoulders. “I think I’ve maxed out my mental bandwidth with studying.”
“Stay for dinner then?” the younger Sano suggested. “I’m making katsu tonight.”
“Oh my God. Yes,” she quickly affirmed with glitter shining in her orbs. “Have I told you I love you?”
“I thought you loved Yuzuha,” Mikey teased and ate a cookie, remembering her drunken statement from New Year’s.
“I can love more than one person,” she coolly replied.
While Emma got busy to preparing dinner and kicked (Y/N) out because her policy was guests don’t need to help. She followed Draken and Mikey back to his room to hang for a bit. En route, she saw a dojo with the wooden doors shut not too far from where they were.
“You wanna see the dojo?” Mikey piped up.
“I’m… curious,” she coyly responded.
Making their way in, the male Sano slid a door open to let his friends in. The only light source coming in was from the setting sun at the entrance way and the windows at the top of the room. It was still and peaceful with a scent of outside mixed with the people who were here before.
“When was the last time you were in here, Mikey?” Draken asked.
“It’s… been a while.” He looked at (Y/N)’s back analyzing the place with a sense of tranquility and wonder. “Grandpa’s been wanting me to stop by to demonstrate to his students.”
“Oh you have a wooden dummy!” she excitedly noted and briskly walked up to it, the light tapping of her approaching feet echoing in the space. Placing a palm on the main base, a flood of memories came back to her from when Jun was teaching her jeet kune do. “Rare for a karate dojo to have something like this.”
“Guess grandpa’s trying something new?” the male Sano shrugged.
Taking a light breath, (Y/N) struck the dummy at its center with her palm, the hit echoing in the room. She rolled up her sleeves and proceeded to interact with the rest of the pegs in forms of blocking and attacking. Every strike she hit reverberated as a form of expelled energy. The two spectated as she got into a rhythm with the dummy, as if showing them how to use it. Her arms were like interweaving river streams with every movement, each purposeful strike was like a small wave crashing into a rock.
With a final hit, she audibly exhaled and wiped a light sheen of sweat from her forehead.
“Sorry. I got too into it,” she let out an airy chuckle and placed her palm on the dummy again with a dull thud. “I always found fighting to be a physical form of communication.”
“How so?” asked Draken.
“It’s… intimate.” She drew her right hand back and looked at her palm before lightly clasping it into a fist. “You’re fully able to express yourself where words can’t.”
“I don’t get it,” the tall tattooed boy scratched the back of his neck. (Y/N) gestured him to come closer to her.
“Hit me.”
“What?”
“Not for real. Like sparring,” she clarified. “Come on. Humor me.”
Draken audibly sighed and slumped his shoulders. Slowly approaching her, he released a combo with his right and left straights at barely half strength, to which she easily blocked by pushing his arms away.
“’I don’t wanna hurt you. This is dumb.’” she said with a smirk. “That’s what your fists were telling me.”
“Well obviously!” he stated with annoyance. “Anyone with eyes could see that!”
“Let me try,” Mikey chimed in.
“What? No way! You’re too strong,” Draken frowned. “You’ll knock her out.”
“You know I’d never hit a girl, Ken-chin,” he firmly declared with a small smile. The vice commander already knew what Mikey was going to do: he gave him that look of curiosity and wanted to test how strong she was. He knew anything he’d say after this would fall on deaf ears.
“Just… be careful, (Y/N)-chan,” the tall boy warned. “Don’t get carried away.”
The two faced each other as the room got darker from the dying light outside. Waiting for their eyes to adjust to the dark, Mikey made the first move with his signature roundhouse. Foreseeing this, (Y/N) went on the defensive and successfully blocked it with her right arm.
“Oh? It’s like that huh?” she remarked and shook her limb out from the sting. Even at half strength, his kicks packed a punch.
“If I went all out, you’d be out cold,” Mikey pointed out with a smirk and attacked again. (Y/N) managed to block a few of the punches and kicks he threw and ended up being struck on her left shoulder and let out a small grunt. She stepped back and rotated her shoulders, letting out a breath to reset.
“Not bad,” she praised with an amused grin. “My turn.”
Stepping into Mikey’s space, she unleashed a few fast jabs, hooks and kicks at him as he bobbed and weaved through them by a breath’s hair. Her hits didn’t look like it from an audience’s point of view, but they were fast and had weight behind it. The blond knew she was holding back her strength too, mentally admitting to himself he’d be in trouble should he ever get hit by them.
He noticed there was no wasted movement or momentum with her and each attack had intent. (Y/N)’s last right hook lightly grazed his cheek from the amount of power she let out, leaving a red mark. The sting was as sharp as a knife cutting his skin.
“Oh dang. Sorry!” She immediately stopped. “You okay?”
“I’m good,” he replied with a smile and rubbed the area she touched. “But we should stop here.”
“We were getting a little too intense for Draken,” she agreed and chuckled. “He was holding his breath the whole time.”
“I don’t wanna hear you two cry ‘bout it if either of you got hurt!” he angrily grunted.
Wrapping up their brief sparring session, Emma came out on time to let everyone know dinner was ready. They all contently ate while talking about nonsensical things and laughing. Draken had to head back to the salon not long after, remembering he had to cover for the manager at the front desk tonight for the night shift. Realizing how late it was getting, (Y/N) decided to head out as well.
“Thanks for dinner, Emma-chan. It was so good!” she complimented while putting her shoes on.
“Come by anytime! In exchange…” She leaned into the side of her right ear. “You have to tell me what’s going on with you and Mitsuya.”
“On second thought, I think I can manage on my own,” she deadpanned and made final adjustments on her left shoe before standing.
“Meanie!” she pouted and crossed her arms.
“If there’s anything going on…” (Y/N) continued with her back facing her and turned her head with a gentle smile. “… I’ll do my best to let you know.”
Saying their good nights, she exited the house and saw Mikey wearing his white Toman bomber jacket on top of his casual clothes on Babu.
“I’ll take you back.”

Synopsis: Drabbles of your life being Sano Shinichiro's girlfriend.
Chapter 44 Chapter 45 Chapter 46
Putting your hand on your hip, you give Draken another look as he continues to sit by the chair next to the counter.
He’s been bothering you about working for you for two hours now, insisting that he wants to be able to pay you back for the money that you used for his hospital bill a few months ago.
If it wasn’t for Manjiro’s big mouth, you think that you would’ve gotten away without Draken knowing. Then again, the kid’s quite smart so either way, you would’ve had to deal with stubborn Draken. “For the last time, kid, you don’t have to work for me to pay back the money. Knowing that you’re actually trying to be safe and not get hurt is good enough for me. Now scram. It’s almost midnight, you need to go home.” You hear him huff as you turn your back on him to start counting up the sale from today along with putting back some tools that you cleaned earlier.
As you walk around the shop, making sure that the equipment is all placed back where it’s supposed to be, in good condition and that there’s no appliances that are still plugged in, you finally turn back to face Draken who has now decided to follow you around.
With how mature he usually acts with the other kids, you can’t help but be endeared with this side of him, still a little kid even though he towers over you.
If Shinichiro was here, he’d surely tease this kid to no end with how persistent he is, unknowing that Shinichiro is just as stubborn, if not more.
“Then… I won’t work for you… Just take me as an apprentice. C’mon! I’ll help around the shop and you can teach me things. I can clean up, talk to the customers. I already know the basics, it’ll be like having an employee without having to pay!”
“That’s illegal, Ken.”
“It’s not if it’s an internship!”
Letting out a groan, you rub a hand on your face, absolutely done with his persistence.
Clicking your tongue, you nod which earns you a triumphant laugh from the teenager. “Fine, fine! I’ll take you as an apprentice but please! Just go home and sleep early!” Shooing him out of the shop, you quickly lock up, conscious of the time and how the kids must all be sleeping by the time you get home.
Walking over to your own motorcycle parked beside Draken’s, you give him a wave before he drives away first. Making sure that he’s safely turned down the corner, you start your own bike and head home, body starting to ache from the long day’s work as you quickly reach the street leading to the Sano household. Seeing that all of the lights inside the house are already off, you decide to just head over to your own home for the night, not wanting to wake any of them up by accidentally opening a door too loudly.
You’ll just have to head over for breakfast real early tomorrow.
Driving a few more minutes to your house, your eyebrows raise when you see another motorcycle parked in front of your car along with someone sitting by the door, head perched on top of your knees.
Warily, you approach the figure, eyes straining to see who they are until you catch sight of a certain long haired blond. “Haruchiyo, what’re you doing here?” You hold out your hand, lightly tapping on his shoulder before pushing his hair to the side to see him slowly open his eyes.
Oh my.
Did he fell asleep outside the house waiting for you?
Helping him stand up, you immediately open the door, letting him in as you turn on all of the lights.
Watching the teenager slump on the couch, you can’t help but frown at the obvious tiredness radiating off of him. Even with the mask covering his face, you can already picture the frown marring his face. Closing the door behind you, you walk over to him before gently removing his mask.
Setting it on the coffee table, you turn on the fan before heading to the kitchen to fix both of you a quick dinner, taking out a few instant noodles and some sausages from the convenience store nearby, a perfect comfort dinner to end a tiring day.
Once you made sure that they’re cooking, you head back to the living room to see Haruchiyo pulling his knees to his chest, a deep sigh leaving his lips as he looks over to you. “Hey Y/N-nee… thanks for letting me in.”
Shaking your head, you sit beside him on the couch and start fixing his hair, pulling it up in a messy bun with the hair tie wrapped around your wrist that you usually keep for the kids with longer hair.
Mostly Manjiro though since he never brings his own.
Once you’re done tying his hair, you gently pat his cheek. “What would you have done if I didn’t come home here tonight? Would you have slept outside?” Letting out a sigh, you stand up, pulling him along as you lead him to the kitchen before making him sit by the counter. “What were you even doing outside my house? Why didn’t you just go home? Or you could’ve at least called me.”
You continue as you turn to the stove to make sure that your food isn’t burning.
“I didn’t know where else to go… I ran away and my phone died on the way here…”
At the sound of his answer, your eyes immediately widen, getting whiplash as you abruptly turn to him at the news.
You may have not known where his older brother has been for the past years, nor do you know what Takeomi has been up to, but you never even thought that he’ll let his younger brother run away from home.
Approaching him, you immediately look over his exposed skin, checking to see if he has any bruises. “What?! Why? Did something happen?”
Shaking his head, he pushes your prying hands away, a small smile starting to show on his lips. “Not really… it’s just, why bother staying there when I don’t see any of them anyways?”Even with the teasing tone in his voice, you can see something swimming in his eyes which makes your shoulders drop, the look familiar to you.
You’ve seen it somewhere. And you’re pretty sure you had that same look a few years ago before you met Shinichiro.
The loneliness in his eyes almost screams at you as you look him in the eye as he continues to explain. “It’s not like Takeomi’s home long enough to talk to and Senju’s been busy with other things to actually be able to hang out with. So might as well leave. It’s not like I’ll lose anything.”
“Oh Haru…” You whisper under your breath before pulling him into your arms, hugging him as tight as possible which rips out a silent chuckle from the teen.
Rubbing his back, you let out a hum when he hugs back.
After what seems to be a few minutes of hugging, you finally let go. “Did you at least bring your things with you?”
Rolling his eyes, he nods over to the door leading outside. “It’s on my bike. I didn’t have a lot of things anyway so it was easy to bring.” Nodding, you head back to the stove to turn off the fire and put the noodles in bowls and put the heated sausage on a big plate.
Hopping off of the counter, Haruchiyo helps you in bringing the food to the dining table, taking out glasses of water for the two of you as well.
Once the two of you have sat down, you point at Haruchiyo with your chopsticks. “Y’know, you can always stay here if you want.”
“Yeah, that’s why I went here in the first place. I knew you wouldn’t leave me to die.” He sounds so smug that you almost want to roll your eyes but the accuracy of his words only makes you chuckle to yourself.
Putting one of the sausages in his bowl, you watch as he takes a bite, smiling to yourself when he lets out a satisfied hum. “One day, you should make me talk to your brother, I outta beat some sense into him. He’s still dabbling in gangs right?”
“I’d really enjoy that. You should beat him up real good like how Wakasa once beat Shinichiro up.” He jokes which instantly brings a smile to your face, the memory of hearing Manjiro tell you the story is still strong in your mind.
“Did you hear that from Manjiro too?”
“Yeah, I heard him telling the story in school a few years ago during recess.”
“That gossip…” You sighed out.
Continuing your very late dinner, the topic slowly moved to that of Tokyo Manji Gang’s latest fights and other business. “So, you’ve been moved to the fifth division right? With that big guy Mucho?” Haruchiyo nods at your words, finishing off his ramen with a slurp. Humming, you set your chopsticks down, suddenly reminded of a memory due to that name. “Yasuhiro Muto?”
Again, Haruchiyo nods. “I feel like I’ve met him before…”
Then, just as you’re about to let go of that thought, a memory of you picking Izana up from Juvie after he was let go pops into your head.
Among that memory, you’re reminded of a few faces that you remember talking to Izana as they were waiting by the gate. If you remember correctly, Mucho was one of them, along with two brothers.
“But also, we actually have a fight- Hey, Y/N-nee! Are you listening?” Haruchiyo lightly nudges your arm, breaking you out of your stupor.
Looking up, you give him a sheepish smile. “Sorry about that, I zoned out. But continue. What were you saying again? A fight?”
Nodding his head, Haruchiyo takes a bite out of the last sausage on the plate then continues to tell the story. “Yep, we have a big fight tomorrow. The gang is quite new. The name is Valhalla and from what we got, they don’t really have a leader or anything like that but the captains of Toman has a plan right now but they won’t tell any of the other members, not even the vice-captains. They said that it’s top secret and only the captains are allowed to know so I didn’t even bother to pry. It’ll be too much work.”
Slumping against his chair, Haruchiyo finishes up his water, wiping the sides of his mouth before looking up at you, immediately noticing the furrow in your brows. “You good, Y/N-nee?”
“Yeah… just that Manjiro and Draken didn’t tell me anything about this big fight that you’re talking about.” Letting out a sigh, you finish up your own ramen. “I even made them promise to tell me about these fights just because of what happened to Draken last time.”
“True. The fights are getting out of hand recently. A lot of gangs are suddenly wanting to fight with Toman.”
“Where’s tomorrow’s fight gonna take place?”
“Hm? Just by the junk shop with the cars. It has a wide area and I heard from Mucho that a lot of gangs will be spectating the fight.”
“Is that so…”
Morning came and you immediately woke Haruchiyo up, pulling him along to the Sano household so that you can start cooking for everyone while the others are barely just waking up. The first one down is Grandpa who’s a little confused at the sight of Haruchiyo in the kitchen but lets it go the moment he greets you good morning.
The next one is Emma who ignores the other blond all together and just helps you with breakfast. The moment breakfast is about to finish, you head over to Manjiro’s room in order to wake him up.
Shaking his shoulder, you slowly pull his blanket away, giving him a few more seconds of warmth before inevitably ripping it off of his form. Almost in an instant, his eyes shot open, hands reaching out to try and take the blanket back only to groan when he sees that it’s you holding his precious blanket. “Wake up, Manjiro, breakfast is ready.”
Rolling over in bed, he lets out a groan before begrudgingly sitting up on the edge of the bed where you quickly move over behind him, hand taking the brush on his bedside table in order to start brushing his hair and giving him his usual style. The moment your done, he seems to be a little more awake.
Tossing him his blanket, you tell him that you’ll be waiting downstairs before walking out.
Breakfast finishes soon enough the moment Manjiro makes his way to the kitchen, not even questioning why Haruchiyo is there as well.
After a hearty breakfast, Haruchiyo immediately leaves, saying something about finishing something for Mucho which leads to Manjiro walking you out to the gate as you’re about to head to work. “Haru mentioned something about a fight you’ll have with Valhalla later…” You nonchalantly mentioned, not at all thinking that it’s some big deal but when you see Manjiro’s reaction, your suspicions immediately skyrocket.
The blond has seemingly frozen in place, eyes wide in shock, mouth agape and hands immediately making their way behind him, looking like some guilty child who stole some snacks from the snack cabinet.
He looks exactly like he did years ago when he’d steal Shinichiro’s snacks from the kitchen cabinet.
Turning around, you cross your arms which makes Manjiro sweat even more. “What are you hiding, Manjiro?”
“Nothing…” He says with such a suspicious look on his face that it almost looks funny.
“Are you sure?”
“... yes?”
Clicking your tongue, you decide to let it go, not wanting to push him further. Waving your hand, you let out a sigh before starting to get on your bike. “Alright then, I’ll go now. See you later-”
“Takemitchy told us not to tell you about our next fight because he told us about his secret and said that you shouldn’t be in our fights next time ‘cause you’ll be in danger that’s why Ken-chin and I didn’t tell you. All of us promised to keep it a secret from you.” Your eyes widened, eyes immediately trained to Manjiro’s guilty face. You don’t think he even realised what he told you.
“Us? So it’s not just the three of you?”
“The other captains are in it too and Kazutora too since he just got out of juvie the other day and told us not to tell you-” By now, Manjiro must have realised that he just spilled all of their secrets, his eyes getting even wider as he forcefully shuts his mouth with his hands, geet stumbling as he tries to get away from you. “You didn’t hear anything! I didn’t say that!” Looking around as if Draken or Takemichi’s gonna show up in a blink of an eye, Manjiro looks at you with pleading eyes. “Don’t tell them that I told you, okay? Thanks, Y/N-nee! Bye bye! Have a nice day at work! Love you! Bye!”
Right after that, he runs back to the house, leaving you confused by the gates.

Sano Shinichiro x f!Reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Genre: Established Relationship, Fluff, Angst
Warning: Spoiler warnings
Synopsis: Drabbles of your life being Sano Shinichiro's girlfriend.
Chapter 43 Chapter 44 Chapter 45
Heaving, you lean your body against the wall of the hospital, fatigue taking over your body after travelling from Yokohama to Shibuya as fast as you can, heartbeat going a mile a minute after you received the call from Manjiro. You try your best to get as much air into your lungs as much as possible while you wipe away the sweat that has accumulated on your neck and face after running straight from the train station to the hospital, forgetting about calling Wakasa to drive you himself due to the panic overtaking your common sense.
Just the thought of any of the kids having to be sent to the hospital immediately puts your mind in a fight or flight mode, always unsure of what you’ll see when you finally arrive.
After what seems to be a lifetime of trying to catch your breath, you finally gain enough strength to sprint over to the operating room where you can see the Toman captains, all of them hunching over in their seats or leaning against the wall by the door.
Hearing your footsteps, you can see that the tension in their bodies alleviated a little, a small relief smile making its way to their faces as Manjiro immediately makes his way to you, arms wrapping around you ina hug to which you pull him in closer, hand making its way to his hair as you start to feel him shake in your hold, trying his best to hold in his tears in order to not show the others.
“Y/N-nee… I’m gonna go for a bit… I need fresh air.” You hear Manjiro whisper after a few seconds of hugging. Nodding your head, you slowly let go of him, making sure to press a kiss to his forehead before watching him walk off to the direction of the hospital’s garden.
After you’re sure that he’s out of the vicinity, you face the others as well, eyes immediately trained on Mitsuya and Keisuke who instantly made their way to you, the two kids giving you a brief hug though you can feel just how tired they both are. From the numerous bruises and wounds littering their skin, the slump of their body against yours and the heaviness of their voice. It makes you sigh.
“Did the doctors say anything yet?”
Shaking their heads, they pull away from your embrace, with Keisuke going back to leaning against the wall beside Chifuyu while Mitsuya stayed by your side, a heavy sigh leaving his lips as he starts talking. “Not yet, they just said that it might take hours before they finish since he got stabbed at such a sensitive area. It might have hit one of his organs though they haven’t said anything else after. We’ve just been waiting for an hour right now.”
Nodding, you let out a sigh, hand raking through your hair as you look over the room, making brief eye contact with a blond boy who immediately darts away from your look, a deep blush on his face.
Raising your eyebrow, you continue to look over the boy’s direction until Mitsuya finally notices. “Oh, that’s Hanagaki Takemichi.” He tells you before gesturing for the blond to make his way over.
The name sounds familiar, almost like you’ve seen him before. “Is he a new recruit?” You ask as Takemichi slowly makes his way over to you, the blush on his face darkening the closer he gets.
“Not really. Mikey didn’t say anything about him being a member, just kinda, let's him tag along?”
Humming, you give the blond boy a small smile, trying to be as friendly as possible despite the circumstances. “Hanagaki Takemichi, right? I feel like I’ve seen you before-” Suddenly, your eyes widen, finally remembering where you first saw him before today. “Wait. You’re the boy at the brothel, right-”
Before you can finish, the door to the operating room opens, your attention immediately diverted from the blushing mess of a boy to the doctor who bows to all of you. Pulling down his mask, a reassuring smile makes its way to his lips as his eyes immediately dart to you. “Ryuuguji-san, your brother is now in a stable condition, the surgery was a success, we’ll just have to make him stay in the hospital for a week to make sure that the stitches don’t open up and that it starts healing soon.”
A smile breaks into your face while the rest of the boys let out a shout of relief.
“Thank you so much! When will he be transferred to a different room? Will we be able to visit him?” You ask him, walking closer to the doctor while the rest of the kids run out of the hospital to tell the rest of the gang that’s waiting by the parking lot.
“He will be moved into his own private room later this day once we’re sure that he won’t be needing intensive care. But along with that, may I talk to you, Ms. Ryuuguji?”
Nodding your head, you start following the doctor. “Of course. And it’s L/N Y/N.”
“Oh, I thought that you were the patient’s sister. I apologise.” Leading you to what seems to be the doctor’s office, you sat down on the chair while the doctor takes out some files. “L/N-san. I take it that you are the patient’s guardian?”
Nodding your head, you wait until he shows you the files. “These are the numerous procedures and medicines that he will be taking over the course of the month. Of course, not all of them will be long term, some are just for this week, pain relievers and such while these are for the rest of the month. Along with that, the surgery and his stay in the hospital.”
By now, you feel like you know where this is going. Your eyes immediately dart to the numbers on the bottom of the paper. It makes you suck in a sharp breath at the numbers.
“One million and three hundred thousand yen…” You breathe out, eyes immediately making contact with the doctor who nods his head.
“You can pay it off through the month, along with that, we have already set him up for health insurance since we found out that he doesn’t have any which will cut off the total bill to nine hundred thousand yen since his insurance is relatively new.”
“Thank you so much.” You whisper, eyes closing shut as you lean your head on your hands, taking in deep breaths as you think about your course of action for the next month. In order to make sure that you can pay off the bills while also maintaining enough money to get the necessities paid off in the house and keep the shop well maintained.
Taking your leave, you immediately head to the garden where Manjiro is after making sure that the kids have all gone to the parking lot.
Peeking through the corner, you call out for Manjiro when you see him leaning against the wall.
“Manjiro… Ken’s alright now. He’s safe and stable.” You tell him as soon as you’re close enough to pull him into a hug, his face immediately buried against your shoulder as he finally lets the tears fall. Unable to help himself as he completely leans against you, sobs muffled by your shirt. “He’s gonna be okay, you don’t have to be afraid anymore.”
Takemichi immediately walks back to the parking lot as soon as he sees Manjiro hug you, opting to give the two of you privacy.
“Takemichi, where were you?” Mitsuya calls out, making his way to the fidgeting blond. “Did you see where Y/N-nee was?”
“O-Oh, she’s with Mikey-kun at the back-”
“Oh, then we better leave those two alone then.” Keisuke pops up from behind, rough voice startling Takemichi. Looking over at the flushed blond, Keisuke raises a suspecting eyebrow. “You’ve been real jumpy ever since Y/N-nee came… did something happen? Do you know her?”
Just as Takemichi’s about to shake his head, Mitsuya speaks up once more. “Now that you mentioned it, Y/N-nee did mention something about meeting you at the brothel? Did you two meet already?”
By now, Takemichi’s face looks like it’s about ot explode, skin getting shinier from the sweat as he profusely shakes his head at the two captains who looks like they’re enjoying his panic right now.
“Eh? You sure about that, pipsqueak?” Keisuke jokes around which makes Takemichi stutter out an excuse before running over to where Chifuyu and Hakkai were. “Hm, I think the punching bag is hiding something…”
“Don’t call him that, Y/N-nee won’t like it…”
“Not if you don’t tell her.”
After the very eventful night that you had, what with going back and forth from Yokohama and Shibuya, you didn’t think that that’ll all end up with you sitting by Draken’s side in his hospital room, staring at the blushing and stuttering mess that is Hanagaki Takemichi as he tries to avoid your gaze the moment he realised that you’re in the room with him.
“You don't have to worry about it, Hanagaki-san, it’s not the first time that’s happened, y’know?” You try to ease his nerves but he only shakes his head even harder, his whole face now red as a tomato which reminds you of a certain someone that you met years ago when you were younger.
It’s crazy how much they resemble each other. But at the same time, the difference between them is too noticeable for you to ever think of any connection between him and your beloved Shinichiro. “I-I’m so sorry again, L/N-san.” He stutters out before running out of the door to look for Manjiro who’s waiting for him by the rooftop.
Chuckling at the boy, you turn back to Draken who can’t help but look down on his hands, already knowing that you’ll be scolding him.
“Y’know, when I told you guys yesterday to be careful and to not stab anyone, I didn’t think that you’ll have yourself get stabbed instead.” You start off, watching as Draken flinches on the bed.
“I didn’t want to get stabb-”
“Of course, you didn’t, Ryuuguji Ken. I sure as hell hope that you didn’t intend to actually get stabbed during the fight because if you did, I’ll just have to screw your head back right in and teach you a lesson.” Standing up, you tower over the teenager, clicking your tongue when the door bursts open with Keisuke, the twins and Mitsuya walking right in, followed by Manjiro and Takemichi a few seconds after.
“Good, I’m glad that you’re all here.” You announce which immediately makes Keisuke try to walk out.
“I think I shouldn’t be here-” Smiley whispers to his twin.
“Stay. Sit down and listen before I make you listen.”
Crossing your arms, you give all of them a stare down. “I know that I’ve been very lenient with all of you being in a gang. I know how gang life is like even though I haven’t, personally, been in one. But please. I sure hope that all of you are actively trying to not stab or get stabbed during your fights. And I sure hope that no one is doing anything illegal or I swear, I will put an end to Tokyo Manji Gang. I’m not your mother but I care about you like I am one and I hope you all know how hard it is to get called while I’m in another town, and hear Manjiro scream about how Draken is rushed to the hospital because he got stabbed or that Pah-chin got arrested for stabbing someone or have someone tell me about how Peh-yan hit Draken on the head.”
Taking in a deep breath, you can almost feel the tears of frustration make their way to you but you push it away. Clearing your throat, you face Takemichi. “I’m sorry that you had to hear that but since you’re technically in the gang right now, I thought that you better hear it as well. So please, all of you. If you’re going to get in another fight, make sure to tell me when and where so that I can at least prepare. Prepare for some wounds and bruises but god. Please. Don’t you dare get yourself hurt enough to be put in a hospital.”
“Yes ma’am.” They all chorus together,
“You better keep that promise.”
In the corner of your eye, Takemichi bites his lip, nerves going haywire when he suddenly sees something flash before his eyes before disappearing just as fast the moment he makes eye contact with you.
It’s like a nightmare. Instantly bringing the hairs on his arm to stand up at the sight of what he just saw.
“Alright then, now that that’s settled, what do you guys want for lunch? I’ll head down and have Wakasa help me buy us some lunch.”

That tease with the confession last week and now this...I'M DYING HALP!! I want them to be together so bad 〒▽〒
Mitsuya x Fem!Reader Begin Again: Ch. 11
[Previous Chapter] -- [Masterlist] -- [Next Chapter]
Last week's chapter GUTTED me ; A ; I wonder how much emotional pain Wakui was in while drawing our boy like that...
Also, if you like this little series, please feel free to DM me to add you to a taglist, reblog or whatever. I'm terrible with this self-promo stuff!
---
She abruptly stopped in her steps, staring at her friend wide eyed and stunned.
“(Y/N),” Mitsuya softly called her in barely a whisper and closed the distance between them. His hand reached up to brush a stray strand of hair from her face; soft lavender eyes trained onto hers, completely entranced. The lilac haired boy could hear the increasing heartbeat in his ears.
“I…" He took in a slow breath and released to calm himself. "I’ve liked you ever since we were kids,” he finally confessed, feeling the apples of his cheeks get warm. “I can’t let this slip by again.”
“A-Again?” she finally managed to speak out.
“That night under the fireworks…” he professed and found his hand reaching down to gently hold hers like she was a fragile porcelain doll. “I wanted to tell you then.”
She stood motionlessly, her wide eyes still as her brain was churning its gears at maximum capacity, still struggling to absorb this new information.
“This… was what you wanted to talk about?” (Y/N) found her voice again, with her friend nodding in response. “Why… after all these years?”
Not wanting to full on admit his jealousy of Mikey possibly making moves on her, he lightly bit down on his lower lip, trying to think of a better answer. “’Cus you said you used to like me too and I thought… This was my chance…” he trailed off and bashfully looked away. A mix of the cold and heat rushing up to his cheeks dusted his pale skin with splotches of rosy pink. He gave her hand a firm squeeze before releasing his hold to tuck his hands back into his sleeves.
“You don’t have to answer me right now,” the lilac haired boy clarified in a barely whispering voice and looked back up at her with longing. “I just… wanted you to know. That’s all.”
---
The last semester of their junior high lives began a few days later and the day went by in a blur. (Y/N) found herself unable to focus on any of the lesson reviews for their finals. Thankfully, her friend had the courtesy in giving her some space at school to breathe. She caught a glimpse of the back of his head while they were changing classrooms for lessons, but that was it. There were no club activities today, so she had all the free time in the world, to which she dreaded. Free time meant her brain would roam around with ridiculous ideas.
Mitsuya actually confessed. He liked her liked her. What was she supposed to do with this information?!
Next thing she knew, she found herself aimlessly wandering around Shinjuku window shopping in hopes of finding a distraction. (Y/N) then heard someone call her not too far away; she turned to see Chifuyu waving at her with a toothy grin.
“Whoa, you look dead,” the blond boy remarked with a shocked face the moment they met face to face, seeing the dark circles under her eyes.
“Are you always this charming?” she snapped with an annoyed glare and sighed while lightly pinching her nose bridge. “Sorry… it’s just… It’s been a few crazy days.”
“I’m all ears if you wanna talk,” he suggested. “I’m gonna head to a bookstore. Wanna come with?”
“Lead the way.”
The two walked in silence until they reached their destination. Casually browsing the aisles, (Y/N) watched Chifuyu pick up the latest volume to Nana, Cookie, Shonen Jump and a few delinquent themed mangas.
“Can I borrow Nana from you sometime?” she suddenly asked. “I’m a few chapters behind.”
“Do you remember where you left off?” His eyes sparkled like a puppy. “It’s gettin’ so good!”
“I think…” she tried to recall. “When she and Ren just got engaged and had the conference.”
“Uwah, you’re pretty far back then…”
Her eyes wandered and then saw the latest volume for “Steel Ball Run.” Having borrowed the previous issues from her brother’s friends back in Sendai, she hadn’t had time or the money to buy the weekly tankobons.
“Oh you actually read that series?” Chifuyu asked with a tone of surprise.
“It’s surprisingly good. I didn’t know how to feel about it at first after I finished Stone Ocean.”
As they continued to browse, (Y/N) found herself in front of the photography magazine aisle and picked up one featuring a photographer her brother liked; she remembered him saying how much he loved his colorful portraits of western musicians like Coldplay, Radiohead, and The White Stripes. The issue also had shooting tips with some of the lenses she had at home.
After buying what they needed, the two decided to grab a bite at a fast food restaurant.
“How would you feel if someone you knew really well confessed to you?” (Y/N) asked all of a sudden.
Her line of sight were trained on people watching through the window. Chifuyu choked mid-sip of his soda.
“Don’t start somethin’ like this as if I was apart of the convo already!” the flustered blond coughed into a napkin. After catching his breath, he sat with the question for a bit and sipped his drink again. “I guess I’d ask how I feel ‘bout the person first.”
“Conflicted,” she flatly replied and lazily ate a fry. “Part of you feels happy, while the other feels it may ruin what you currently have and…”
“And?”
Mikey’s face popped up in her mind from the time he was at her place. She could still remember that intense energy radiating onto her skin. What was he trying to do? “There’s an unknown third element.”
“Hmm…” He took a big bite of his burger, continuing to think through this hypothesis. “Going back to your first point, wouldn’t the potential relationship strengthen the friendship?”
“How so?”
“You two know each other well, right?” he pointed out. “Which means you’ve seen each other’s best and worst parts.”
Son of a bitch. This shojo manga loving nerd’s got a point, she thought to herself and bit into her cheeseburger.
“What’s the unknown third element?”
She racked her brain to come up with a way to explain it without giving too much away. “It’s another person. They feel… connected to you since you share similar life experiences.”
“That’s tough…” Chifuyu crossed his arms, deep in thought and hummed. “That could be more like a sense of deep camaraderie.”
“Would that develop into something more?” she asked.
“That depends on the person and how they are.”
“Great,” she grumbled out and sighed heavily.
“Listen, I’m doin’ my best with the cryptic info you’re givin’ me,” the irritated blond defended.
“I know, I know. Sorry…” (Y/N) sat with her thoughts a little more before speaking again. “Going back to the first question then: Would you decide to respond to their feelings?”
“I’d give it a try,” Chifuyu earnestly answered and took a small handful of fries. “Things can unexpectedly develop into something bigger.”
“Spoken like a true shojo fan,” she sighed and lightly chuckled. “You’d make a good boyfriend one day.”
“I have zero luck with the ladies,” the first division vice captain bitterly answered with a straight face before taking another bite of his food. “Don’t make fun of me.”
“I’m being serious.” She looked up at him with sincerity. “You may be an idiot with some things, but you have an honest heart and are level-headed.”
“I dunno whether I just got insulted or praised…” he uttered out with irritation. “I’m actually a little annoyed.”
“I get that a lot.”
“You gonna tell me who it is?” the blond finally asked.
“I’ll think about it,” she teased and ate a few more fries. “Depending on how useful your advice is.”
“Mean,” he jeered and got to analyzing her questions in his head as he sipped on his soda. His turquoise eyes slowly widened with revelation and surprise the moment he put two and two together for the first person. Just as he was about to speak, (Y/N)’s finger immediately found them on top of his lips to shush him. She shot him a nervous look to stay quiet before huffing a quick breath from her nose and removed her digit off of his lips.
She trusted him to be smart enough to not announce his thoughts. Her irritation grew by the second at his sparkling blue green eyes and beaming proud ear to ear smile with romantic joy.
“Stop,” she firmly warned and finished her burger before speaking again. “This isn’t gonna be a thing.”
“Aw c’mon! Let me live through you!” he whined and stuck a fry on the corner of his mouth to chew on. “I’m not gonna ask who the second person is, but I’d say it’s a big win for you. He’s a great guy.”
“He’s also busy juggling school, club stuff, family and you lot,” (Y/N) argued back. “I don’t wanna be the straw that breaks his back.”
“What makes you think you would?” Chifuyu challenged. “Had Mitsuya-kun thought you were a burden, he wouldn’t have invited you to the shrine or told you ‘bout our stuff. As smart as you are, you’re pretty dumb to not see how much he trusts you.”
She shot an annoyed glare at the vice captain as he finished his soda with an audible slurp, staring back at her with zero disregard and negative zero shits given. Grabbing their belongings, they disposed of their garbage and headed out, bundling themselves into their respective school jackets from the chill.
“Have you spoken with him?”
“Not since New Years Day…” she replied. “He’s been busy with training the next home ec club president, so I don’t wanna bug him.”
“Don’t use his schedule as an excuse to avoid the conversation,” the blond scolded. “The longer you wait, the more awkward it’ll be.”
“What are you, my brother?” she huffed out and shoved her hands in her jacket pockets.
“Listen, the shojo mangas don’t lie. I’m just taking point from there.”
“Rely too much on made up stories, you’ll miss the good ones in front of you, Chifuyu-kun,” she retorted with an emphasis on his suffix in a sarcastic manner.
Two days later, (Y/N) found herself in Akihabara browsing some used camera stores and took some city scape shots on top of a walking sky bridge. Her mobile phone started vibrating in her jacket pocket. The moment she saw Mitsuya’s name pop up on the caller ID, her breath hitched in her throat and inwardly panicked. She closed her eyes to regain composure before picking up.
“Mi-tan,” she stiffly greeted and mentally kick herself with a grimaced expression. “What’s up?”
“What’re you up to right now?”
“Wandering ‘round Akiba.”
“Ah…” he paused for a moment. “Do you think you can get to the shrine in an hour? Mikey wants you at the Toman meeting tonight.”
“Eh? Why?”
“Somethin’ to do with the Dragons fight on Christmas, if I had to guess… You think you can make it?”
“I’ll try.”
The two said their good-byes and hung up. Securing her camera back in her bag, she walked to the station for the next train for Shibuya. Thirty minutes later and in a very packed train on the Yamanote, (Y/N) squeezed herself out of the tin can and took a moment to catch her breath as people passed by her left and right. Regaining her sense of self, she made her way up the stairs to exit the station. Walking for another 20 minutes, she finally reached the entrance of the meeting spot.
Even without the festive lights and people, the shrine echoed an aura of majesty and pride. Resting on the stone wall by the stairs, she took her camera out to look at the pictures to pass the time. Not long after, the feint revving of motorbikes could be heard from a distance, followed by a flood of headlights illuminating the road in front of the drivers. When did she get so used to this noise pollution she used to be so annoyed at? The bikes slowly came in troves, revving it a few more times to announce their presence before dismounting. (Y/N) remained unbothered by the sudden surge of adrenaline, testosterone and stale cigarette smoke engulfing the area.
“Ehh? Who have we here?” a gruff voice called out. She looked up in a bored manner to see four unrecognizable Toman members in front of her. “Think you’re in the wrong area, sweetheart.”
Her gaze remained neutral and looked at their left sleeve: they were from the third division.
“I’m waiting for someone,” she simply replied with disinterest and put her camera back into her bag. “Surely, I’m not a problem being here.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say you are one…” The nameless member eyed her legs up and down in a lewd way. “But we can certainly keep you company.”
“I’m good,” she firmly rejected with a snide smirk. “I was taught not to associate with degens.”
“You stuck-up little bi--”
“What are you doing?” a new, authoritative voice interjected. The members surrounding (Y/N) turned their heads and immediately bowed at a tanned boy with blond hair and gold rimmed square spectacles.
“C-Captain Kisaki,” one member greeted with his head bowed.
“Kisaki? Why did the name sound familiar?”
Her memory suddenly flashed back to the night of the fight: it was that Kisaki. The one who betrayed Chifuyu and manipulated Yuzuha into stabbing Taiju.
“Were they bothering you, miss?” the captain spoke in a calm manner. “I apologize for the rudeness of my men.”
“I-It’s fine. Don’t worry about it,” she huffed out in one breath, suddenly feeling guarded.
“We’ll be taking our leave then.”
He gave her a light bow and one more look, as if analyzing her for something before making his way upstairs into the shrine; his men tailing not too far behind him. (Y/N) found herself exhaling a shaky breath from holding it after he left. That boy’s presence alone wedged a block in her voice box.
“(Y/N)! You made it!” a familiar voice greeted her ears, immediately releasing the tension in her body. She turned to see Mitsuya with his gentle smile. Waiting for the third division captain’s back to completely be out of sight at the top of the stairs, she quickly strolled up to him and rested her head on his shoulder, breathing in his scent to calm down. Confused, he reached up and felt her body trembling slightly.
“I just met Kisaki,” her voice meekly shook out, her breath unsteady. His hand reached up and cradled the back of her head and leaned into her.
“Don’t worry ‘bout him,” he reassured and gave her upper arm a squeeze. “If he tries anything, I’ll protect you.” Nodding into his shoulder, (Y/N) took a short beat to recollect herself before lifting herself off. They slowly made their way up to the shrine and met Draken and Mikey at the top of the stairs.
“Glad you can make it tonight, (Y/N),” Mikey greeted her with a small smile.
“You good?” Draken asked as he eyed her skittish form with a concerned expression.
“Y-Yeah…” she uttered out, her eyes briefly glanced at the back of the tanned blond’s head and looked at her feet. “I’m… I’m fine.”
“She met Kisaki by chance while waiting for us,” Mitsuya divulged.
“Did he do anything to you?” the commander asked with worry and lightly knitted eyebrows; she lightly shook her head no. “Okay…” Mikey let out a soft breath. “We can talk more about this later.”
Like a well oiled machine, all the divisions bowed down to greet the leaders with (Y/N) in the mix. She was amazed at the sheer prowess of Toman’s commanding presence as they walked down the path to the top of the stairs. The captains made their way to their respective divisions as the top two ascended the steps; (Y/N) was instructed by the vice commander to stand to the far left side near the first and second divisions at the base of the stairs as a spectator. And for Takemichi and Mitsuya to keep watch in case anything with the third division happens.
“The first meeting of the year with all members of the Tokyo Manji Gang will now commence!” Draken announced. He summarized the events that transpired with Black Dragon, the cause of it and their eventual victory. “Four people here will discuss this matter with everyone today! The first person, Shiba Hakkai! To the front!”
The youngest of the Shiba siblings made his way up to the stairs, telling his part of the story with a new sense of humility and self-awareness, apologizing for how everything spun out of control because of his lie. Mutters of chatter and discussion filled the dead air until Mucho spoke.
“Don’t worry ‘bout it, Hakkai! What sparks conflict is always somethin’ small in the first place!” the muscular blond kindly remarked.
“Besides,” the fourth division captain, Smiley added. “We beat the Black Dragons, so it’s all good! Right, guys?!”
As expected of the Toman captains to turn the mood around into a supportive one, (Y/N) thought to herself and smirked. Mitsuya then said he’d still have a place in his division as his vice captain, to which everyone there roared with enthusiasm when asked if they were okay with it.
“Now! The second person, (Y/FN) of Tokyo Kitsune! To the front!” Draken announced. It took a second for her to register she was being called and did a double take. She flinched in place, pointing to herself in confusion while looking up at him with a widened gaze.
Tokyo Kitsune? What was the vice commander on?! Toman reacted with murmurs of confusion, wondering who the hell she was and what she had to do with this. (Y/N) daintily made her way up the steps like it was fragile glass.
“Toman’s victory against the Black Dragons is also thanks to her efforts!” the vice commander continued. “She will now say a few words.”
She shot Mitsuya a look of panic as beads of sweat pooled at the crown of her head; all he could do was shrug and give an apologetic gaze. There were a lot of things she was terrible at, public speaking being all the way at the top. Huffing a few breaths to calm her nerves, she turned to face the wave of black and gold staring up at her with a mix of curious, confused and bored gazes.
“I… wasn’t expecting to talk, but here we are…” she uttered out slowly and loud enough for everyone to hear. The awkwardness in the air lingered as she scratched the back of her head with discomfort. There was nothing she could do with her situation and as her late half brother once told her, “Even if you hate it, say it with your chest.” She cleared her throat and took a deep breath to calm herself again before continuing.
“Toman indirectly helped me once in the past,” she projected her voice with purpose this time, being careful not to disclose too much personal detail. If there’s anything Kitsune’s taught her, it’s to be aware of who’s a friend or foe until they present themselves as such. “This was my chance to repay that old debt. It was a selfish request of mine to go along that night and I’m glad I was able to assist with Toman’s victory.”
“You held your own against two of their captains! I wouldn’t call that ‘assisting’!” Chifuyu shouted from the crowd, followed by voices of shock and astonishment wondering how strong she was to be able to do that.
“That’s… a minor detail,” she disregarded, trying to play down her contribution.
“We would’ve definitely been dead if (Y/N) wasn’t there,” Mitsuya gassed up the vice captain’s commentary with a grin, with Hakkai agreeing. “I had half a mind to recruit her into my division!”
"At least use an honorific, dumb ass! Way to blow my cover!" she panic thought to herself.
“You literally did after having your head bashed in with a pipe!” she shot back, making the other members crack up.
“What is this, a manzai routine?!” one member heckled between his laughs. “This is the best!”
Her face was slowly turning a tint of pink from embarrassment and praise as the crowd turned in her favor with their cheers of her name.
“Draken-kun!” She turned and hissed at the dragon tattooed boy, completely flustered. “How long are you gonna keep this going?!”
“I dunno,” he responded with his usual stoicness and grinned. “But take it in. It’s your moment.”
She turned to see the faceless crowd chanting her name as if it were a prayer. She can count on one hand how many times this has happened in her life. Accepting this as a fight she wasn’t going to win, she sighed with a lopsided smirk. This gang’s energy really is unique to all the others out there. Not wanting to drag this on, she firmly planted her feet on the ground and faced them again with hands behind her back. This needed to end on a high note.
“Say it with your chest.”
“From here on, should you need my strength, I, (Y F/N) of Tokyo Kitsune, affiliated with Toman, would be honored to lend it to those who dare oppose you!” she announced with ferocity to respond to the support.
“Looks like I’ll have to find an inari shrine* to visit,” Mikey noted to himself with a small smirk.
A waves of cheers engulfed the shrine as she descended the stairs. “You dickwads’ll be the death of me…” she muttered out and shot a death glare at Mitsuya and Chifuyu, clearly annoyed at their commentary. The two replied with haughty grins and a thumbs up in her direction.
“You’d be cuter if you didn’t curse so much, y’know,” Smiley casually remarked.
“Cursing is fuckin’ cute, Smiley boy,” (Y/N) shot back mockingly at the fourth division captain with a sneer.
Draken kept the meeting going by calling the next person out, who turned out to be the remaining two members of Black Dragons, Seishu Inui and Hajime Kokonoi. To everyone’s surprise, Inui made the announcement of Black Dragons joining under Toman.
“I assign the Black Dragons to the First Division,” Mikey declared. “In other words, under Hanagaki Takemichi’s command!”
A flurry of chatter filled the air. Even (Y/N) was shocked. Why under Takemichi, specifically? Did they have something up their sleeves? When the first division captain asked, Toman’s commander simply said that was their wish if they were going to be apart of the gang.
“I won’t ask you to trust us,” Inui firmly stated to the first division captain. “Just tell us when you need us. We’ll help you.”
Koko turned his head and glanced (Y/N)’s way. “Looks like we’ll be seeing more of each other, girl,” he noted with the tip of his tongue out; she responded with an expressionless face and a middle finger. She really didn’t like him. With the vice commander hushing down the chatter, Mikey stepped forward, announcing he wanted to talk about events regarding the Christmas Conflict.
“Kisaki Tetta!” he called. The tanned blond boy stepping forward as a response.
“You’re fired.”

Wakasa Imaushi was a complicated man. In his high school days, not youth because he was still very much young, he was the president of Kodo Rengo, was nicknamed the ‘White Leopard’ and made quite a reputation for himself around the streets of Kantō.
Future was always a blurry mess of ‘what if’s and ‘maybe’s for him to really anticipate what was to come. Sure, he knew he would end up pursuing a career in music but the concept of love was foreign to him.
Until he met her, that is.
Himiko Tsuyuri was, simply put, a wonder to him. With attitude as kind and gentle as hers, he had been befuddled to find her amongst the ranks of a biker gang. Soon he discovered that there was more to her than what met the eye. She didn't prefer fighting if there was an option to avoid getting physical. She was the brains behind his maneuvers as the leader of a gang that dominated the west of one of Tokyo’s most prominent wards.
But beyond that, from lending a hand in orphanages and old age homes, feeding the strays that would wander around her apartment and helping others, not because she had to but because she wanted to was what made him fall for her. And he fell hard.
Some called them high-school sweethearts and some deemed them to be naïve teens yet he considered her his everything. And it played out exactly the way he wanted — those days of purposely arriving to school early to make small talk, throwing around short yet genuine compliments and being on his best behavior.
Somewhere along the lines, she called out his near desperate attempts. “You don’t have to change for me Kasa-kun. Honestly, I prefer you being yourself, wild side and all.”
Maybe that’s when he had realized, he needed to have her all to himself and love this girl to the moon and back. And even still as he leaned on his bike, half-lidded eyes scanning her form as she walked out of the college campus, his heart thudded loudly against his chest. He was madly and irrevocably in love.
Pocketing his phone which really was just a distraction, he flashed a smile at Himiko’s approaching self, “Hey there, pretty girl.”
The ravenette blushed, hands winding themselves around his nape while his arms circled her waist as she pecked his cheek. “You didn’t have to come pick me up, Kasa.”
Pretending not to have heard her half-hearted whine, he nuzzled her neck. “I think you missed, princess.” Placing a sweet kiss on her lips, he pulled away to reveal a lazy smirk. “And, I wanted to see you anyways.”
She offered him a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. He noticed.
The sky was dull as she mounted his bike, assuring her lover that her helmet was on and latching onto his jacket. His heart fluttered when he felt her grips around his torso, a feeling he had long since associated with her and her alone.
They drove around the traffic of Tokyo, both of them engaged in light conversation while the scenery sped past them, hair carried by the wind. Taking roads to reach a quieter part of the bustling city, Wakasa stopped on an overview bridge. What was supposed to be a normal sunset was replaced by the darkening sky and the grumbling of thunder.
"Well this is anticlimactic", he mumbled, slipping the wrapper off a hard candy, popping the lozenge into his mouth.
Himiko chuckled airily at his usual antics, "Not everyday can be picturesque, Waka. You just gotta take it in a stride."
"Wow. My girlfriend is so philosophical", he deadpanned, pinching her cheeks, fuelling her amusement. He could only stare at her features. From the mole under her right eye to her plump lips, she was akin to a dream.
"What?", she questioned his lingering gaze amidst her chuckles, rubbing her face with the back of her palm. "Something on my face?"
He didn't answer. He couldn't answer. Being entranced by a girl was dangerous and way beyond his walls of comfort. Unfortunately, people tended to do reckless things when in love.
Just as he was about to reach out and cup her chin, a rogue droplet of water splattered on his nose, interrupting his chain of thoughts. "What the—?"
Turning around to see the ripples forming on water surface of the river underneath, Himiko sighed. "We really should've listened to the weather forecast and brought an umbrella."
"Too late for that now, sweetheart", the man tugged her towards the bike, offering her a lollipop which she took with a playful giggle. "Seems like this date will have to continue at home."
"What do you have in mind?" Himiko asked shyly, already catching onto his innuendo. To him, she looked ethereal, even if her long hair was matted against the crown of her head, being wet from the rain, clothes damp and face flushed. She was as beautiful as ever.
The silver haired man donned a grin, pushing his girlfriend against the black vehicle, peppering her face with feather-light kisses. His roaming hands found themselves bunching her mustard sundress, "I'd prefer something with less clothing, if you will."
The walls seemed to be closing in on her and it was hot. So damn hot. The voices just won't stop and her screams were reduced to silent pleas. She was sure she looked pathetic. Afterall, that was all she was – a handful and a pathetic little girl.
Himiko, try to understand. If it helps your new sister settle in, can't you make a small sacrifice?
I heard she's the Student Council president. Shame that such a pretty face thinks she can be miss 'smarty-pants'.
Make yourself more presentable, Himiko. Maybe then you'll get a boy to actually stay.
You think I'm the reason we broke up? Look in the mirror, darling, and think again.
What would a slut like you even know about being intellectual?
You should get some fixtures done. Men aren't into flat chests, you know. See, I know this real good surgeon...
You should stop trying so hard. In the end, you'll never be enough.
You're the very reason my wife is gone. You're nothing but a killer!
Look at you! Who'd want to sleep with a skeleton? Atleast don't ruin the only thing making you worthwhile...
You really believe him? Himiko, he's a gangster! Lying is like second nature to him. Don't be so ignorant! He's just with you for my money. The moment he gets his hands on our property, he'll not look back once, you hear me?!
"Babe?"
Blood pounded in her ears. Her heart hammered in her chest. Her body shook violently. Her vision disfigured. She was facing a dark void. And for all it's worth, a faceless enemy was like trying to catch mist with her bare palms – impossible. Breathing was hard. Really hard. Her chest felt like it would crumple under the pressure at any moment while hot tears spilled from her eyes.
"Princess...?"
It wasn't fair.
All of it, she had told herself that she was over it; over all the people who made her miserable. Because holding grudges wouldn't make her the better person. Or rather...it would shatter her facade of 'perfection'.
"Himiko!"
Just as her heart felt it couldn't take anymore, waves of pain raking her body, she awoke with a jolt. Noticing someone had their arms around her and she thrashed wildly. Dizziness blurring her sight and an ache no amount of comfort seemed capable to soothe was making her experience shocking levels of paranoia.
"It's okay. It's just me. You're alright, sweetheart."
The voice was velvety and it worked like magic on her ringing ears. It didn't take her a moment longer to realize she had been in Wakasa's embrace all along, his fingers running up and down her sides.
"W-wakasa...?" His name fell past her lips in a string of barely audible syllables, so quiet that he would've missed it, if not for her face being so close to his own.
"Mhm", he reassured, pained by the hysteric state of his lover.
Wakasa wasn't new to these episodes, having experienced them himself. But it was reason all the more that he hated Himiko having to go through this. "It was just a bad dream, yeah?"
Panic attacks were monsters of their own right and there simply wasn't a cure. The victim was a subject to the tortures of their own mind, if not their terrible life outside of the one in their dreams. The only thing he could do was to tell her that she wasn't alone and as long as he was alive, she wouldn't ever be.
Shaken as she was, she could recognize those lilac irises anywhere. Allowing herself to get lost in his amethyst stare, she clung to his shirt as if her life depended on it. Sometimes it felt like it did, like he kept her alive.
Her voice was hoarse, a result of her distressed screams. "You're r-really he-re? You...you won't leave me, righ'?"
Not being capable of keeping her words from breaking, she knew she sounded like a damaged record. She wished she wasn't so damn needy all the time. He surely thought of her as burden. And a burden was exactly what she was, she finalized, her gaze shifting downwards in defeat.
"Hey, hey. Look at me", he called out softly. Gently pushing her face in his direction, he peered directly into her teary green eyes. For a second, his indifferent exterior wavered, a frown making it's way to his handsome face.
"Love, talk to me, please. It hurts to see you like this. I know I'm not the best at comforting someone– shit, I'm actually the worst at it, but you gotta tell me what's wrong. I'll try my best to make it better."
The silence that settled over them was no longer overwhelming. Her cries were now mere sobs, her face laying to his chest. The essence of peppermint and his cologne created a sweet mix of calming scents. She felt the vibrations from his subtle humming and the beats of his heart falling into pace with hers.
'Cause I'm in a field of dandelions
Wishing on every one that you'll be mine, mine
And I see forever in your eyes
I feel okay when I see you smile, smile
And then, the answer to why it's always been him was crystal clear. If there was a place she felt at home, it was by his side. Maybe they were young and were kids living in their fantasies but while it lasts, it was the best life she could imagine to be in.
Through crazy nights to giddy mornings, him being there was more than enough. As cheesy as it sounded, she did not know life without Wakasa and she was fine with that.
