I don’t believe my blog will be deleted in the coming apocalypse, but one of my favorite blogs apparently was -- and all of its posts were deleted from my likes but also their reblogs were apparently deleted my blog itself? -- so well then. fuck. I’m not planning on deleting my blog but i feel so dead, and so, so tired.

but really wow the saddest thing is that in the manga and anime Kaworu knew that either he was going to die or Shinji was going to die all along but rebuild!Kaworu genuinely thought they had a chance at happiness like they were literally descending into the pit to get the Spears and Kaworu was still smiling at Shinji ‘like okay we are doing this everything is going to be fine’ but then noPE THERE GOES HIS GODDAMN HEAD AGAIN

birthday ponyo karlshauns

Goodness, but it’s been a while since I’ve done a ficlet. This one is for @teenunicornart, who asked for a karlshaun ficlet where karl missed out on shaun’s birthday and tries to make it up to him. I hope you don’t mind that I put it in the ponyo au. 

Sometime during their tenure as children, Shinji and the others had picked up the phrase “playing God,” and the only context they had for it was knowing that you weren’t supposed to do it. And since they were tenured children, they were bound by the obligations of childhood to do anything they weren’t supposed to. It took some time to figure out how playing at godhood was different from, say, playing space soldiers or playing astronomy experts, but the journey of figuring out everyone’s role was half the excitement of it. It was fun to be a benevolent god, to be sure; it just wasn’t nearly as fun as being a malevolent one. Malevolent godliness came with perks such as time devoted to workshopping one another’s signature evil laughs, the divine right to kick anyone’s sandcastle into crumbly oblivion, and the ability to reverse any prior miraculous healing performed as a benevolent god with a “plague finger.”

“Macbeth! You caught the plague!” Kensuke said to Touji during a drive-by poking. (Rumor had it that saying “Macbeth” at somebody made a plague permanent since it had, according to Asuka, killed people in real life, “So it’s basically a curse times infinity.”)

With such a feverish devotion to this new craft, it didn’t take long before Asuka discovered the heady rush of bringing about an apocalypse. “You forgot Shinji’s birthday?” she said to Kaworu with an unholy glee. “That’s like, one of the major sins of being a boyfriend.” And she felt very omnipotent indeed, looking at the expressions Kaworu made and watching his little world end.

“It’s not as bad as you think!” Hikari told him at the first signs of hyperventilation. “Because I heard that it’s actually really normal in couples for the guy to forget about their anniversary and the girl to get mad at him about it, so this is probably the training version of that.”

“Does it still count if it’s a boy and a boy, though?” Kaworu asked, voice cracking.

Hikari frowned. “Oh… I don’t actually know about that one,” she said, frustrated with herself at how easily she’d overlooked this glaring loophole in the laws of courtship.
