I often feel that there is major anxiety as the new year approaches. People become more likely to obsess over obtaining perfection- a perfection that was not achieved in the previous year but with the right diet plan and trainer at the gym, careful planning and obsession over small details will undoubtedly be achieved in 2018. When the truth is that most of the goals will not be reached, not because of the person’s inability but rather because of the nature of the goals.

More often than not, the goals we set for ourselves are materialistic, superficial. They are goals that we do not actually have for ourselves but rather goals that society has set for us. 

This year my goal is to get rid of the idea of new year’s resolutions entirely and to rather start living my life for myself... revolutionary idea is it not!?

This year will be a good one. There is no need to complicate things. Honestly, if you’re happy, then who the hell cares.
