I have type 2 Narcolepsy. Studies have shown that serious viral infections can cause people to develop Narcolepsy if they are already genetically susceptible to having it. This includes covid. That is what happened to me.

there’s an element of added horror in that Adria is a Latina woman and the Imperial that attempted to rape Bix said “I know you’re not legal” the parallel to what is happening in the real world with immigrants I feel is purposefully explicit and meant to be gut wrenching and stomach churning because it is. this is actually happening right now in front of our eyes and it is sick.
