This is an excerpt from the Giggle novelization. Proving to me that the Doctor truly never got over or Rose or moved on. I think regeneration combined with Rose having tentoo provided them with a better way to cope. I think they learned how to gain less pain and more power from her memory. I think some days they miss her and feel a little bit of sadness, but most days they miss her but use her name to keep fighting. But a love like what The Doctor felt for Rose never diminishes and never goes away. I believe it was one of the constants of his life that wouldn’t change with regeneration. Neither on screen or in the novelizations did the Doctor mention loving anyone else who they had any kind of romantic interaction with. They expressed love for their platonic best friends Sarah Jane and Donna. And the man they saw as a father figure, Wilf. Rose was the only person he had a romantic dynamic with that he loved at this point. She will always be the love of his life. Maybe Rogue will come to be a close second but Rose is the Doctor’s true love. Yes she has a version of him in tentoo. Yes tentoo is as much the Doctor as any other version of him and is exactly the same as ten (besides lifespan), but knowing she’s happy doesn’t mean the prime universe Doctor would move on or stop feeling the deep romantic love for her he always has.

Another part of why I believe this so strongly is that if the Doctor could just get rid of or diminish their romantic love for her with regeneration, the knowledge they would outlive Rose wouldn’t be such a burden. The curse of the time lords wouldn’t be such a curse. The “I have to live on alone” thing wouldn’t be so painful if the Doctor would only miss her until they regenerated. If the Doctor could just move on upon regeneration, then they would’ve embraced their love for Rose in the first place and there wouldn’t be so much angst over not being able to tell Rose how they feel.

Not everyone will agree and that’s okay, this is a show so big and so fast that no two people will see it exactly the same way. I just wanted to explain why I believe the Doctor’s true love is 100% Rose. If someone else has the same perspective as me, I hope you find this post empowering.

Stephanie Beatriz was at a con recently, and she gave a very insightful answer to a question about Vaggie's character that I thought I'd share. (Cleaned up a bit for readability but otherwise her exact words)

"I think Vaggie is really deeply insecure. I think the badassery is really quite a facade for the insecurities of whether or not she belongs, whether or not she is allowed to be in love and whether or not she's deserving of that love.

I think you see little elements of it in season one, of how hard, desperately hard she is trying to make everything in Charlie's life good and better. At the expense of really like who she, who is she? Like we don't really get to know her very much. And I don't think that's by mistake, there is a long game there, meaning that I don't think she knows who she is and she is very very very very afraid to lose the one thing that feels like a guiding light to her, which is her girlfriend.

Which you know, that's lovely and beautiful, but is it particularly healthy? I am not sure. And I think that starts to play out more in the seasons that are coming"

The confession

A little cringe fic, inspired by a rp I had on my Abel rp blog! And I love serapherd, so -

Just another day in paradise. Abel was happily chatting with a few rowdy cherubs, offering them tips on how to fly better or simply catching up on what they did in their free time. Everything was going smoothly until one particularly curious cherub asked a question that instantly turned Abel’s face a bright golden hue.

Did he like someone?

A sweet, innocent question. Usually, Abel would just change the subject. After all, who hadn’t noticed the way he stole shy glances at Emily? Or how flustered he got whenever Peter grabbed his hand to "make him walk faster because he was lagging behind too much"? His heart wavered between two people, and it felt unfair. Why did he have to feel something so strong for both of his best friends?

He should make a choice. Or talk about it. Try. With one of them.

But that could ruin their precious friendship. What if they rejected him? What if they never wanted to see him again? Abel couldn't bear that. So, he had simply learned to ignore his feelings, to just shrug whenever someone brought it up. It was nothing. He was fine. He didn’t need to talk about it. He was happy enough this way.

But today, Abel let his guard down. These are cherubim! Cherubim are known for sometimes talking nonsense or forgetting details like this! So… Yes. He dared to open his mouth and admit that his heart wavers for Emily… Without really thinking, or realizing that he had just sealed his fate by openly letting his feelings speak.

Because a soft, teasing voice suddenly spoke up right behind him.

"Abel, could you repeat what you just said?"

Slowly, the golden-winged angel turned around, horror washing over him as he locked eyes with the young seraph. She had an amused little smile, her hands tucked behind her back as she stepped closer.

Oh Lord, did she really… hear him?

No, no! Maybe she had just been passing by, only catching her name. Emily was probably just trying to understand why he was talking about her! That was all. After all, she had always been naturally curious and cheerful—it wasn’t surprising.

So Abel tried to appear confident, waving both hands in front of him as if to dispel any misunderstanding. Lying was… bad, but this was just a little lie! Nothing serious! The ground wasn’t suddenly going to open up and send him straight to hell!

“Oh… Hello, Emily! I didn’t hear you coming! I was just telling them that, uh… I was planning to see you a bit later? That’s all! Nothing weird or suspicious!”

The little angel swallowed hard, especially as Emily’s smile widened.

…She had heard everything, hadn’t she?

The cherubs were gone. Smart enough to know when not to stick around.

What a shame. He would’ve loved to run away with them.

A strange silence settled between them. Then, unexpectedly, Emily was the first to move. Her usual teasing confidence faded as she rubbed her arm.

"I feel the same way, you know? You don’t have to… hide it."

Emily's voice was soft, her gaze fixed on Abel as a timid smile finally appeared on her face.

Abel, on the other hand, stood frozen, mouth hanging open like a fish out of water. He struggled to process this overwhelming information, to fully grasp that no, he wasn’t dreaming. This was real.

It felt strange and… and…

Was he supposed to say something? Do something?

He had always watched his father and mother flirt and act like lovebirds—was he supposed to do the same? Or should he just… be himself?

Emily didn’t look away from him, but a creeping doubt started to take hold. Had she made a mistake? Was she too forward? Sure, she liked doing things her own way, but maybe this wasn’t the right approach. Maybe she should apologize, laugh it off as a joke?

Ahah…

Before she could spiral any further, Abel finally regained control of his body and stepped forward. Gently, he took both of Emily’s hands in his own. He inhaled deeply, closed his eyes for a moment, then exhaled as he opened them again.

"I… I love you, Emily."

His voice trembled slightly, but he held her hands firmly.

"I should have told you a long time ago. It’s just… I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. I was afraid you’d end up hating me… or running away. And now I feel so stupid because you had to make the first move…"

Abel started to ramble, feeling utterly miserable. His father would have laughed at him for struggling like this.

But… Abel wasn’t like him.

He was gentler, more polite, more respectful. He wasn’t some brute who threw his title of “first man” around. He didn’t want to be loved out of pity, as the so-called first victim of humanity.

He wanted to be loved for who he was, not for a title.

Emily, watching his internal struggle unfold, finally took action. Once Abel released her hands, she reached up, cupping his round cheeks. Then, spreading her wings slightly, she lifted herself off the ground, making sure Abel had no choice but to meet her gaze.

"I would never hate you, Abel! And besides… you’re not the only one who tried to hide your feelings. I had the same fears as you… But now I can finally say it too! I love you, Abel! I love you so, so much!"

Emily declared joyfully, laughing as Abel’s face turned an even deeper shade of gold.

This wasn’t fair—she was doing this on purpose!

The seraphim folded her wings, stopping her flight, and gently removed her hands from Abel’s cheeks. The angel still looked completely dazed, as if struggling to process everything.

It felt strange.

He felt… lighter.

And… happy?

"Well… I suppose we can both agree that we were just two fools, huh? Oh! Uh… If Sera finds out, she won’t throw me in a dungeon, will she?"

After all, Emily was a seraphim, and he was just a simple human soul. Maybe there was some rule in Heaven that forbade this kind of love? Would they have to hide it? Abel’s head started to ache—not from his usual post-mortem migraines, but from all the overwhelming thoughts swirling in his mind.

"What? No! Sera would never do that! And even if she wasn’t okay with it, I wouldn’t let her!"

Emily announced proudly, as if she was suddenly ready to face Sera in battle, armed with a sword and shield.

The mental image made Abel chuckle softly.

Oh, he didn’t doubt Emily for a second. She was no weak, defenseless damsel.

…So now what?

Was he supposed to kiss her?

Or…?

No, he could take his time.

Emily didn’t seem to be expecting anything immediate. They would move at their own pace, without rushing or forcing anything.

"So… does this mean we’re… dating?"

Abel’s voice wavered with uncertainty.

"I-I mean, unless you don’t want me as your boyfriend! W-We can still think about it, no pressure!"

Once again, Abel gave in to panic.Emily, however, handled it effortlessly. She simply took his hand in hers.

"I would really love to be your girlfriend, Abel."

She flashed him a sweet, radiant smile—one that nearly made his heart explode. Aaaaargh, what an unfair attack!

Abel was about to say something—anything—when a sudden throat-clearing sound interrupted him. Both of them jumped in surprise and turned toward the source.

Leaning casually against a nearby column, arms crossed, stood Peter.He was watching them with a wide, knowing grin, clearly enjoying the situation.

"Wow, took you guys long enough! So, you finally confessed, huh? Can’t wait to hear all the gossip that’s gonna spread about you two in the coming days!"

Then, with a teasing smirk, he added,

"But hey, more importantly… Did you two forget that we were supposed to go shopping together today?"

His grin only widened as his two flustered friends fumbled for words.Oh yeah.He had seen everything.He had heard everything.

And he had chosen to just stand there, silently witnessing the whole thing for his own amusement.

Abel was the first to speak again, desperately trying to regain his composure—a battle he lost instantly.

"N-No, we didn’t forget! …We’re coming right after this! W-We’ll be there soon!"He stammered.

Peter just chuckled before finally walking away, leaving the two lovebirds alone.

As the Gatekeeper of Heaven disappeared into the distance, Abel and Emily’s pinkies remained softly intertwined.

Baby steps.

I am sick and tired of people breaching this bullshit. No, you do NOT get to act like a fucking demon just because you were wronged. You do not get to play out your revenge fantasy just because someone wronged you.

"LOL, so you're saying the demons in Frieren just need hugs and kisses to-"

No, I'm saying if you're faced with something those demons or the bugs from Starship Troopers, you don't drag shit out. You treat it like an extermination: you kill the threat as quickly as possible to minimize death and then you fucking stop. No torture or needless cruelty.

There's a reason why I like characters like Goblin Slayer and Doomguy: they don't fuck around and torture their targets because they were wronged by them. They take one look at a species posing an existential threat to humanity and instead of indulging in their sadism, they lock in and fucking kill them like vermin. Because they know the evil doesn't justify their brutality, they're just men on a mission.

Why Adam became the Asshole he is in Hazbin Hotel (Also a theory about Eve)

So, I've had this theory going through my mind last night about why Adam is such an Asshole, and I think it has to do with his relationships with Lilith and even Lucifer.

I want to preface this beforehand though that even with this theory, if it's true, does not exempt of excuse Adam from his fate or his actions in the show.

Regardless of the cause, he CHOSE to be an asshole, he CHOSE the path he took, and it led to the fate that befell him.

That said here is my theory on why Adam became the monster that he is.

So, we know atm that Hazbin's origin for humanity is similar to what the bible (some of the "non-canon text" anyway) says.

Adam and Lilith were the first humans created, however due to Lilith wanting to be equals with Adam and Adam wanted Lilith to obey him, Lilith ran away, met Lucifer, they fell in love and the rest as we know became their history after they gave Eve the apple which doomed humanity.

But one detail that I find interesting is that we are given this origin as if it were a storybook being read to a child, which it sort of is as Charlie is reading the book she was read to as a kid herself.

this detail could implicate a biased viewpoint, as Lilith and/or Lucifer could have written this and as such could be an unreliable narrator.

I bring this up because in their biblical lore Adam, Lilith, and even Eve were created to be innocent as children, they had no concept of good or evil.

in this case, what if Adam thought how he treated Lilith wasn't wrong, because he had no concept it?

and Lilith because she is strong willed, just didn't want to deal with that which explains her leaving, neither could be seen as "the one in the wrong" because neither had an understanding of right or wrong, Lilith just wanted Adam to treat her equaling but because Adam was basically a child in an adult body didn't understand or comprehend what she was asking, or what he was doing was wrong.

heck thinking about it now, Lilith might have even been made more mature than Adam, and even if one was more mature than the other, this doesn't contradict either of them still retaining their innocence.

but I digress,

Even if Adam was innocent, it still led to Lilith being hurt by his disregard and eventually Lilith would meet Lucifer and the two fell in love, by then Adam had been given a new bride, who was Eve.

and as we know Lucifer, in a misguided attempt to help humanity gave her the apple from the Tree of Knowledge which would give Humanity the knowledge of Good and Evil.

What this story didn't mention though that is part of the biblical story of Genesis was that Eve gave the apple to Adam, and both ate it.

So if Adam in Hazbin followed suit, this means he also ate the fruit and became aware of everything that was going on, he was no longer innocent of what he was doing.

And just like in Genesis, for eating the fruit, Adam and Eve would be forever banished from Eden and be forced to now work for their food, living arrangements, etc. no longer having the comfortable life Eden provided and now having to struggle just to survive in a world that was still young and growing with no way of protecting themselves.

If Hazbin adapted this, then we have an explanation for why Adam is so cruel, vicious, and just downright evil to Lucifer, Lilith, Charlie and every Sinner in hell.

In Adam's viewpoint, he feels they deserve to suffer because they "ruined everything".

Adam was happy living his life in Eden with Eve and then here came Lucifer and Lilith witht he apple and now Adam had to struggle to provide for his family (possibly messing up A LOT as many theories arround Cain and Abel in Hazbin assume)

And it wouldn't be at all surprising if he probably also had a grudge against Eve as well (which I'll get into more detail at the end).

I bring this up because many fans have rightly brought up how Adam could even possibly be allowed in Heaven if he embodies so much evil and outside of the possibility that Heaven brought him up because they didn't want to acknowledge how much of a screw up he was.

it's possible that there were many other contributing factors:

he was brought up body and soul into heaven, out of pity for what happened, so his very soul was never given proper judgement.

He sided with Heaven and his views always lined up with how Heaven and even Humanity on Earth all view Hell and its denizens, so no one questioned his behavior because to everyone else he's seeing demons and hellborns for what they supposedly were, and Lucifer did cause things to go to literal hell so Adam was seen as not being at fault, which fed his now fully aware Ego.

It's also possible that as mentioned above, Heaven took pity on Adam and because Lucifer was the one who gave the apple which started the chain of events, Adam's behavior is seen as a side affected of Lucifer's fuck up, in other words Heaven might see Adam as the victim, which really shows how blind they must be if they didn't think to give Adam therapy or something to help him work through everything, instead treating him as their "baby boy" and letting his bitterness remain to rot his soul.

But regardless of which is accurate, if all of them aren't, these are the possible reasons for why Adam is the monster that he would choose to become.

He feels like everything was taken from him, when he just never understood that what he did drove his first wife away, who just wanted to be equal with him and not rule over him.

Heck, I'm pretty sure at the early points of their life before she left, Lilith did care about Adam, but when his attitude drove her off, he didn't have the maturity to reflect and realize he was the asshole and could have changed to win her back and be better, and him being innocent during that point can only excuse so much.

but with him feeling everything was taken from him, his 2nd wife (in his view) tricking and betraying him with giving him the Fruit they weren't supposed to eat and thus causing their banishment, on top of Heaven giving him such a high status because "he was the first human soul in heaven" fed his ego, allowed his bitterness towards Lucifer and Lilith more than likely caused whatever good (if he had any) traits to rot away until they were nothing.

All leading to him becoming the entitled little Frat Boy manchild we see in the show.

the kind who doesn't believe in second chances because he holds so much contempt for the people he thinks and feels wronged HIM.

and because he's in a high status, surely, he must be good, right? surely, HE must be in the right, right?

cause thinking otherwise would mean he'd have to come to terms with how his poor treatment of Lilith would make HIM the first domino to fall that caused his banishment.

and the court scene in S1 Ep6 really showed how uncertain even he was of his status as a good person and his way of doing things is what qualified him for Heaven.

Adam in the end, may have been the first human, but he also became the first asshole and while the show might prove me wrong on this, because yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he was ALWAYS an asshole even before the apple and banishment.

It is an interesting thought to look at and see Adam's POV of how things went and that there is a possibility he, at first, wasn't the evil asshole bigot we saw him as.

I've seen fan art that depicted him as a sweet guy being pals with Lucifer and tbh i think this is who he once was in the main show, a once innocent nice guy who had bad traits, but was never able to properly grow and become wiser and more mature, instead letting his bitterness warp his viewpoint where he sees himself as the victim and taking it out on those he thinks less of because they remind him of the people he hates when all they tried to do was help or ask to be treated better.

The show is not going to justify Adam's behavior or excuse it, but I do believe it will at least humanize Adam and show he wasn't born evil; he just CHOSE to be evil, chose to see the people who really didn't want to wrong him or hurt him as his enemies, and as for his relationship with Eve...well, this part here dives into theory territory;

My reason is that I think Viv is drawing from the many stories regarding humanity's creation.

because in some texts, Adam had not 1, not 2, but 3 Wives.

1st was Lilth

2nd was an unnamed bride who was destroyed after being created because Adam witnessed her creation and was so freaked out by the process, he refused to marry her because he was terrified of her.

If this unnamed bride is in Hazbin, this is who I think is actually the famous, Roo that Viv made art of between the pilot and the shows premiere.

because Roo derives from the term ROO-t of All Evil which could be a name she gave herself since she was never given one along with never being given a chance at life because she was unfairly seen as ugly thanks to Adam.

I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to see the destruction of Heaven, Earth, and Hell since all three are places that represent the people she hates, her "sisters" Lilith(Hell), Eve(Earth), and Heaven.

Then finally we have, Eve

Eve i believe was made to be a copy of Lilith, she wasn't given her own identity and was made to be like Lilith in appearance, but because Lilith was strong willed and avoid what happened with her and Adam, Eve was made to be less strong willed so she would listen more to Adam.

And as I mentioned earlier, Adam also views Eve unfairly because he thinks she also tricked and betrayed him since she gave him the apple and caused them both to be banished from Eden.

Looking back to that moment from S1 Ep1, the implication is that Lucifer and Lilith took pity on Eve and gave her the fruit so she could rise above what she is and maybe giving the apple to Adam might, in their naïve view, help him mature and be better.

and if we go with the other fan theory that Eve is Charlie's biological mother, Adam probably knew about this, which we can see is why he was enraged when Lucifer bragged about plowing Eve, which adds another reason why he would hate Charlie since she represents what Lucifer took from Adam in his POV.

which would also add more to how angry he might have been with Eve, I shudder to think how he treated her after they were banished and when she had Cain, Abel, and Seth.

but to get to the point of this section, it's possible that if/when Heaven came to bring Adam up, Eve may have begged to come with him feeling guilty for her part in causing their banishment.

so, however it happened, Adam made a deal with her that allowed her to be brought into Heaven and whatever conditions there were, it's clear those conditions were wiped away after Adam's death with Lute telling her to go down and handle Charlie.

But not before making it clear that not only is she in charge of her now, but also, I think the reason Lute addressed her as "Lilith" at the end was because this was meant to hide her identity as Eve and to let her know she is going to be posing as Lilith.

Because Charlie only knows Lilith as her mother, so put some strings on Charlie, Lute pulls Eve's strings to get her to play the role, otherwise if she doesn't comply, she will be banished from Heaven and if Eve is more docile then it's not only a guarantee she'll comply and why she lowers her head at the end, but it also makes sense why Lute is acting high and mighty, because she is asserting herself to pressure Eve who won't fight back.

we'll have to wait till S2 to see if anything is confirmed or if all of this is disproven.

But yeah, this was my long thread about explaining Adam's POV and why he became the asshole he enjoys being while also going into how his viewpoint of his wives might be something that is also a thing that affects future events as well as explaining the ending scene from S1.

Once again these are all theories and the show could easily prove me wrong, but you gotta admit these are fun to think of, and I wouldn't put it past the show to give some nuance to Adam or just make him an asshole from the get-go

either way, it will be interesting to see how events turn out

"Well, that was a fucking disaster and a half. Seriously, all those shitty ass Goetia fucking suck," Beelzebub said, sitting down in her assigned chair in the private meeting room. Belphegor snoring slightly in the seat right next to the Gluttony Sin.

"It didn't help it was also two Sins against three." Asmodeus spoke as he entered the room, taking his seat across from Belphegor. "Mammon and Leviathan already took off, unsurprisingly." The two never stick around for at after meeting, not since Lucifer went into isolation.

"Satan ordered them to go home." Belphegor mumbled, a single eye slightly open showing she wasn't fully asleep right now. "Wants to talk to us about Andrealphus."

"He only put the asshole in charge for a hundred years. Should've been Stolas's kid in my personal opinion. Why does he want to talk to use about Andreaphus?" Beelzebub asked, her attention turning to the door opening.

"Because Andreaphus is a lying scheming piece of shit!" Satan hollered as he walked to his seat at the end of the table, sitting down with a thud. Even in his small more compacted form he was still far taller than the other Sins with the exception of Asmodeus. Another seat at the opposite end of the table is dusty and covered in cobwebs. "He's lucky I didn't rip out his fucking-"

"Hey, remember our chakra, keep them balanced, and a nice peaceful mind set. Deep breaths, in and out." Amani would take a few deep breaths themself.

Satan would follow Amani's lead, holding his hands in a mediation style while taking a few deep breaths. "Alright, I'm cool. Now, I only wanted you three here because you're actually competent in your work. Clearly this was a set up job, and I want to know everything about it. I doubt Andreaphus was stupid enough to be too directly involved so he can easily deny involvement."

"Oh, so now you fucking care about getting played. When it's all said and done. If you knew then why didn't you just call him out. I'm sure that 'witness' would've been willing to sing after two seconds in a room with any of us."

"Because Stolas still fucked up big time even lending his book to that imp, and I think we all remember the blind eye we had to turn because the problem those imps caused in the human world. If I punished three royals in a day it'd look like we have a power problem in our system."

"We do have a power problem Satan. We've let the royals run around without any accountability and consequence's for eons now. It was only a matter of time before one tried to rise up the ranks, and a Goetia is the fastest way to do that. Even if it's awfully bold."

"Which is why I'm going to pass an accountability law that'll offer real time punishments to any royal that steps out of line, and having stronger eyes on them at all times. Though we still need to get to the bottom. Beelzebub, I want you to your team keep an eye on Andreaphus, Stella, and that imp witness at all times. I want to know when all their schedules from top to bottom. Asmodeus, have your succubus in Andreaphus kingdom listening for any information. I don't care what it is, even if it's Andreaphus stubbed his toe in public, I want to know about it. Belphegor, I want you to pull every thing you can spare and start hitting all criminal operations that Andreaphus has had his hand in. Mammon and Leviathan aren't getting involved, mainly because they're lazy idiots."

"Fine, but I'm still pissed at you. I can get my team ready to roll out in thirty minutes. Andreaphus and Stella will have every single place they visit often bugged by the end of the day. Striker is going to be tricky since he seems to live off grid. I'll let you know anything important they find." Beelzebub then teleports away.

Belphegor would finally sit up, smiling slightly. "I'm guessing you're little Snicker-doodle is steamed about you losing your cool and squeezing them. Let's hope your famous Lava Som Tam is enough to get them to forgive you."

"Please, I don't want to hear it right now. I really need to get home and apologize. You should get back to your ring." Satan then stood up. "I know this doesn't need to be said, though don't let up for even a second. I want this solved as fast as possible." He would then teleport back to his ring.

As soon as Satan teleports out of the room Belphegor face falls into the table and she could be heard softly snoring again. Her third eye about to close when a golden portal opened over by Lucifer's seat.

"I'm baaaaaaaaaaack~" Lucifer sung out, only to see that the meeting room was completely empty expect for Belphegor.

"You just missed them. Try again tomorrow at around two. Everyone should be here then. It's good to see you Luci, tell Charlie I said hi."

"I have a better idea. We have the meeting at my daughter's hotel. Get caught up to speed on somethings. Show everyone the hotel. Tell them to head there tomorrow. Good to see you too Bel, and I will." Lucifer would then open a portal and leave.

"Sure," Belphegor said as Lucifer left. "Satan's going to kill him tomorrow, though it'll be nice to have us all together again."

Anyway, this afternoon I relized I wasn't convinced by the meeting in the series, I think the confrontation is a bit forced and devoid of real convincing speeches. So I tried to rewrite a part of the episode. What do you think? Are Vaggie and Charlie convincing enough in this version? Would you listen to them or did you prefere the Amazon writing?
