Lifestyle Bazaar, Mixeduse Market, Kamalapur [academic]
ARC510 Advanced Studios 1, NSUARCH
The project was designed during my studies at North South University. The site, measuring 38701 sqft, is next to Kamalapur Road in Dhaka.

The primary aim of the project was to create spaces for street vendors. The ground floor features small shops and market offices, while the top floor is designed to serve as co-working office space. The remaining floors are dedicated to street vendors. Since "street vendors" refers to informal shops operating on the streets, the design includes a large single staircase that allows for a seamless connection from the street to the top floor, establishing the concept of a multistory vendor space. This design illustrates how small functions can be accommodated into high-density multistory spaces to meet Dhaka's rapid population growth.

Community Platform for Local Farmers [academic]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Canterbury high street runs from the City Gate to Canterbury city center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many people earn their living there by selling goods in the street, such as fruits, clothes, and souvenirs. Site studies suggest that the current methods of displaying goods and operating the street market could be more efficient in terms of stall installation time, transportation, display, and social customer interaction. The new designs aim to empower street vendors, Build a sustainable and inclusive marketplace, and create dynamic store spaces to fit multiple stall types.

Street shops should be multifunctional. These initiatives could transform street markets into sustainable and inclusive spaces where vendors can thrive, and the community can gather and grow.

Urban Pocket Gardening. [academic]
The exponential growth of the urban population in Canterbury is threatening both the environment and agricultural lands. Canterbury is home to three higher education institutions, which together host more than ten thousand international students. Parham is one of the most populated areas for these students in Canterbury, as it has the capacity to accommodate over 1,000 students across six active student accommodations.
A research survey says many of the students are experiencing social isolation, primarily due to external environmental factors such as weather and safety concerns. Most students prefer to meet people face-to-face, and they believe that outdoor activities with friends could be an exciting way to connect.

Sylhet Museum [academic]
Project: The emergence of the historical object preservations in Sylhet and the design proposal of a divisional museum to showcase these historical treasures for public information.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Bangladesh, there are 58 museums located throughout the country. This thesis research project aims to identify strategies to safeguard historical elements in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The findings reveal that one of the most significant museums in Sylhet is rich in resources but, regrettably, often overlooked. To address this concern, a museum design proposal has been developed, incorporating climatic and geographic analyses along with relevant case studies. The Government of Bangladesh has designated a site for the new museum, which aims to preserve essential artifacts while introducing the history, heritage, and culture of the Sylhet district to future generations and communities around the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Sylhet district is home to three museums: Hasan Raja’s Museum, Osmani Museum, and Matin Uddin Museum, each honoring notable figures of Bangal. A recent study revealed that Hasan Raja’s Museum attracts a significant number of daily visitors, while Osmani Museum sees limited foot traffic. In contrast, Matin Uddin Museum houses the most extensive and diverse collection, yet it remains largely overlooked due to its less accessible location. The distribution of exhibits among these museums may diminish overall visitor interest. Combining them into a single new museum could enhance their appeal, allowing for a better presentation of the historical artifacts.
