Citroën Visa Lotus, 1982. Citroën’s ‘Genesis Project’ was their attempt to compete in the early 80s World Rally Championship Group B. Lotus built two prototypes using the mid-engined/rear wheel drive Esprit chassis and the turbocharged Type 910 version of their 16 valve 2.2 litre engine, with a Visa body bolted on. As Audi and other Group B competitors were switching to 4 wheel drive the project was abandoned and the cars never raced. The one surviving prototype now resides at Citroen’s heritage centre, The Conseratoire Museum at the Aulney-sous-Bois factory in Paris
