I agree with this post... somewhat.

Firstly, I really want to preface that I am NOT trying to argue with you or convince you of anything at all. This is actually something that I have been thinking about for a while and your post has inspired me to actually put these thoughts somewhere.

I think, overall, it's mostly cute and endearing from what I've seen/read.

I think there is a level of wholesomeness that comes with the titles like 'Mama' and a level of importance/power that comes with 'Queen'. The Koopalings (this term will include Jr.) always had a father, but never (really) had a mother, and regardless of who, they'll look to the person dating/married to their father to fulfill that role (does that thought lead to a lot of questions and speculation on how sexuality/gender diversity is explored in the Mario world? Yes but I digress).

I would imagine/headcanon that all of the Koopalings have been spoonfed idealized fantasies on what a mother is or should be/preform (if we are taking about a canon Bowser behavior). They've been given this pipedream about needing a mother and what their mother would be like when finally joined the family. So them calling Luigi 'mama' doesn't feel too far-fetched or even out of place.

When it comes to Luigi being a 'Queen' is where I can see a few pitfalls. From a logistical standpoint, I see why he would be referred to as a 'Queen', rather than a 'King' or even 'a prince'. Simply put, the Darklands already has a "King", so if he gets married, the kingdom gains a "Queen". I think it really just comes down to semantics for me. I have read a few fanfictions where Luigi is referred to as a 'King" or just a 'consort', and his role in the story is relatively unchanged. Which brings me to my actual gripes.

In most (not all, but most) fanfics where Luigi marries into the family and becomes a queen, he really doesn't have much to do, or at least it's not clearly stated what he does with his title as 'Queen'. My problems with a heteronormative Luigi come from the fact that we don't see him learning the duties of royalty. We don't see him stand by Bowser's side and actually help lead the kingdom, be it infrastructure, paperwork, or diplomatic affairs.

Granted, fics that do include these insights do exist (and I love them 3000 for it), but Luigi's role in the family (primarily) includes cooking for the Bowser and the Koopalings, playing/watching with the Koopalings, and being calming presence to Bowser. Are these all inherently bad? No, but I think the feeling of heteronormativity comes from Luigi being given feminine titles AND traditionally feminine house roles, while Bowser goes to work as king.

Personally, I say we can have both "Queen/Mama Luigi" and typically masculine Luigi behavior, like wearing overalls and suits, with (typically) masculine hobbies like engineering/sports. I want to see a Luigi that is a political/familial equal to Bowser besides just an emotional equal. Where Luigi isn't simply relegated to the heteronormative 'female/mother' role.

I don't deny that Luigi (would) process feminine likes/hobbies/mindsets on things, I really love that about him, but I think he's a bit more gender-fluid than that to just pick one and stick with it wholesale. I like to think that there would be some bending and twisting and... fluidity. A sundress one day, but a fancy suit for the ball. He usually overalls (maybe more regal looking) but a tennis skirt during a tournament. There are a lot more possibilities and situations that there could be.

hey can bowuigi fanfic writers stop calling luigi bowsers 'queen', putting him in dresses, having the koopaling calls him mum, and essentially making him a women?

dont get me wrong, love me fem/trans!luigi omg she is lovely, but fanfic writers never mention it in the tags. and i know that luigi likes to be in dresses and called himself mama like one time but its getting annoying now.

it just feels like they took a bowser and peach fanfic and replaced peach with luigi. it feels like forced feminization's yknow? its very common with gay ships where the shorter or weaker one is essentially turned into a women to comply with heteronormative structures, and i think bowuigi has the WORST case i have ever seen in a fandom.

So, someone wanted some tips on planning/outlining their novel and instead I made this. It kind of happened.

What to do when you have OC but can’t figure the plot [part 2]

The beginning is here

All right, gentlefolk, let’s continue, shall we?

1. You character wakes up in the middle of the forest wearing only socks and with a rubber chicken on xir head. From all versions of what happened yesterday, pick up one with the biggest amount chase scenes.

2. Your character was attacked by a wild animal and passed out. Who brought xir to hospital?

3. Pick a species you like most. Done? Good. Now your character was bitten by were–whatever-animal-you’ve-picked. Next day xe is approached by a n unfamiliar person, who tells xir ��Yes, what are they going to tell xir?

4. Your character is now a  vampire hunter.

5. Your character is now a zombie hunter.

6. You character is desperate to find a job. Unexpectedly xe comes across a vacancy that reads: “To whom it may concern: you can come to such and such address at such and such time. Grim reaper Inc. We will be happy to hire you”.

7. Your character was going for a walk. Xe opens the door that should lead xir to the street but instead is greeted by this sight:

8. Where is that reference sheet/ notes? What is your character’s job? If no pick one for them. If your character is too young to have a job, skip to 10.

After you are done with picking the job, send your character to perform something  job-related. Now write a list of possible outcomes. Done? Good.   Now pick up one that involves the biggest amount of moving around their city/spacestation/castle/place of dwelling.

9. This is your character’s work place. What is their job? Describe their working process.

10. Your character is too young for a job? Okay, now explain why are they transferring to the monster school.

11. Your character is a former chosen one that was sent back home after defeating whatever they were summon to defeat. Now they are 12 again. Describe how why they jumped at the call in the first place and they are going to find way back into the world that after 15 years of being there became their true home.

12. Your character is a former chosen one that was sent back “home”. Accidentally they met a person who used to serve the other side of conflict. What are they going to do now?

13. Your character is a former chosen one that was sent back “home”. Congratulations! Now they are grounded for a month. From all possible versions of how it happened, pick the funniest.

14. Your character witnesses something they didn’t entirely understand: the epic battle between forces of Bacon, Broccoli and Tie. Now all of them are after xe. What xe is going to do about it?

15. Your character met a fae trickster. They wanted green eggs and ham. Your character managed to get those for them. But how?

16. Your character went hiking and saw this. Explain what is going on.
