Hi! I recently created this blog, hoping to help people applying to university this year! I was wondering if you’d maybe be willing to share this ask, in case any of your followers could benefit from it? Thank you so much!
Heya, yes of course! 😊

Still 🍯 4. I am really stuck on the conclusion of my personal statement, do you have some tips for that? 5. While filling the UCAS form, do I mention the o levels equivalent scores (I didn't take O levels, or A levels, i think they'll take an written exam too because of this) 6. Apart from the UCAS form, is there anything else I need to fill up for the main unis? THANKYOU SO MUCH!
4. Again no hard and fast rule here. I think I mentioned what I hoped to gain from the degree in a more long-term sense
5. I would guess so if there is space for that?
6. Depends on the uni! For Oxbridge, there's more you have to do. For other UK unis, I'm p sure it's just UCAS (but could be wrong; their specific websites should have more info here)

🍯 here! 1. How do I apply for scholarships? Is there an exam I should take or something like that? I really need it. 2. Do you think unis will accept/reject me on the basis of my financial situation? 3. In the personal statement, is it okay to specifically mention the achievements. For eg. If I did a two summer courses from a specific institution, do I mention the name of the institution in the personal statement? (The institutions are well known + I don't think we can add it anywhere else)
Hello!!
So sorry for the delay in response; things have been a little manic on my end lately.
To answer your qs...
1. Scholarships - I have no clue tbh! The only info I'd be able to find would be via Google and I'm assuming you've already tried that
2. I mean if you can't get funding for/afford to do the course then yes, but outside of that no
3. I don't think there is a hard and fast rule here - if you have the space, would be fine to include it. I'd prioritise writing about what you took from the course though and maybe what it prompted you to look into next

If anyone wants to talk to me about careers or job interviews or run their CV by me or anything like that by the way, feel free to ask away (I'm no expert but it is my job to know what I'm talking about in that area so yeah, might be able to help)
Thanks for answering my ask! I wouldn’t of thought something like that could be rewarding but helping people get a job they can enjoy / thrive in sounds great. Not too business-y / yet also not too political. I was thinking of social policy but I find politics so stressful I’m not sure if I’d be able to cope.
My pleasure!!
I think I would find it a lot less rewarding if I was in the open market side of things (that's a lot more sales-focused & you get to know your clients/candidates a lot less well, whereas what I do is much more focussed on deeper relationship building). I really enjoy learning about exactly what a company is looking for and getting to know that really well, so then I can help the perfect person for the job secure it!
Social policy sounds interesting for sure and definitely something I'd consider in the future! You're right in that I imagine it could get quite heavy at points though

Hiya. Can I ask what kind of job ur in? I want a career job after uni that also helps people. (Ie. Not in business : marketing ect) thanks
Hello! Thanks so much for your question - I love getting asks on here😊
I currently work in a branch of recruitment called Talent Partnership - which is essentially where I work really closely with companies to help them hire the right people! For me it comes under fulfilling my goal to help people because it's helping people find the right job for them, which is especially rewarding at the moment given I'm doing my best to help a lot of people who have lost their jobs due to covid💗

Hi! I'm currently applying to Oxford to study Human Sciences. When they first review your application, do they only look at your predicted grades or your grades during your last three years of secondary school? Or is it a mix of both?
Hello! Good luck with your application!
They look at all your past and predicted grades to help them with their considerations (if some are lower because of extenuating circumstances, get whoever is writing your reference to note details of that in there). Xxx

part of becoming confident with yourself is just… posting it anyway. writing it anyway. even if you feel like it won’t be recognized, the process is just as important as the results. if you like what you do and who you are that validation will come naturally. shit won’t feel forced either.

very gentle reminder that eating, sleeping, drinking water, showering, going to the bathroom, etc. are not rewards/things you must earn but things your precious body needs for overall health and wellbeing! pls do not ignore these human needs in favor of stress, busyness, or “grind”/“hustle” 💛

girls!!! we gotta fail more often!!! we’re so scared of failure and disappointing people and looking stupid that we don’t even TRY things! men?? men brush off failure like it’s nothing! if a man doesn’t get a job he wanted, it’s because they didn’t review his application fairly! it’s because the competition was tough this year! it’s because he just needs to try harder next time! men just DO things!!! and you know what DOING things builds?? confidence!!! even if you fail!! the more you fail, the more confident you are that you can fail and survive! women don’t even wanna try unless they are 100% certain that they’re qualified and competent and won’t disappoint anybody! but that is NONSENSE. men are out there getting positions they’re not even qualified for, while over-qualified but less-confident women are staying where it’s safe bc they’re afraid to rock the boat!!! DO. IT. apply for the thing! ask for the raise! enter the competition! get used to failing ALL the time! fail quickly and move on!!! if a cocky but mediocre man would do it, then for the love of god, GO DO THE DAMN THING. you are SO much more qualified than you think you are.
