me, unloading a fitted sheet from the dryer: *squinting* what's that you've got in your mouth
fitted sheet: nothing :)))))))
me, prying open its twisted jaws: na-ah!!! give it to me RIGHT now!!
fitted sheet: *resentfully spits out a wad of 3 very damp dishtowels, a pillowcase, and a pathetically sodden washcloth*

You don't know the first thing about piracy, do you? It's not about glory. It's not about gettin' what you want.

Not that I have many followers I can influence on here but if anyone’s going to appreciate this miniseries it’s the tumblr audience so pls go watch Headless by Shipwrecked on youtube:
youtube
I’ve been a Shipwrecked girlie since middle school, and for anyone who likes (or has liked in the past)…
a) Critical Role
b) The Legend of Sleepy Hollow / Washington Irving in general
c) the literary webseries fad of the early 2010s (Lizzie Bennet Diaries, Nothing Much to Do my beloveds, etc.)
d) Starkid musicals
e) Tin Can Bros
f) Supernatural
g) witnessing the fruits of labor when a passion project pays off in a big way
h) beautiful himbos who steal every scene they’re in (Brom Bones accidental marriage to me when)
…this show will deliver laughs, gasps, and oh-my-god-is-that-who-I-think-it-is’s galore. The finale had me on my feet shouting at the screen; please PLEASE go show this amazing independent endeavor some support and love if you have a minute.

hey everyone, great news! starting monday we're relaxing our don't-piss-in-the-pool requirements and no longer mandating that swimmers control their bladders while in the water. of course if you're more comfortable not pissing in the pool, you may continue to do so - everyone should make the pee decision that feels safest for them and their family. please respect everyone's choice about where to pee. thanks 😊

I’ve been gathering my thoughts about the last week’s announcement of the RTD being the next showrunner and I’m just going to throw it them out there.
RTD coming back is the safest choice BBC could’ve made.
For a show about change, this feels like the antithesis of its central theme. It screams Nostalgia™. Adding with the fact the whole Time Lord Victorious multi-platform spin off only exists thanks to “digitally-focus-grouping” or how BBC Studios is known for being the greediest branch of the BBC. It makes me rather cynical about this choice.
I know there’s a subset of the fandom already cheering from the top of their lungs of how the show is “saved” and yet, this feels like they want to suck the cow of RTD’s era dry.
We don’t know anything about what is to come so to already celebrate is premature. Don’t know if the Doctor is going to be a woman or a man, about who is going to write with RTD, who the companions are, if anyone is going to come back, who is going to direct, etc. We also don’t know how the co-production with Bad Wolf Productions is  going to affect the show and its marketing or if that is still all going to be decided by BBC Studios.
I’ve seen people saying that RTD probably choose to come back due to his annoyance with streaming services and how it works. I understand his concerns and I do agree with him but at the same time, stepping down and giving someone else your spot is a powerful choice. There are so many talented showrunners in the UK, why couldn’t they be the ones to step up? To give the show a new vision? It does annoy me more when I think of how RTD should know this. He knows about the importance of giving others a voice. Yet, we are going to do this loop again.
The fandom is not going to react that well either. The expectations of RTD2 already has started and when reality comes crashing in, people are going to fight hard. Even going to make the conflict with Chibnall’s era seem like child’s play. Expections vs Reality isn’t something this fandom (look how they handled this era for any of its choices) can handle well.
Its just so disappointing how the show is under RTD’s shadow and the moment it seems to be moving away from it, the rug is pulled right from under us. I just want the show to change.

Hey, i know y'all love the fact that Vico Ortiz or David Jenkins or Con O' Neil are so vocally supportive of fanworks. I do too.
But.
Quelch the parasocial attitude now that it's early. Don't treat these people like your best friends or ask their opinions on fandom things. It's very nice that they like fanwork but for fuck's sake, try to leave them alone. Don't look for their approval. Have a chuckle and move on.
I saw countless times what happens to approachable crew when they meet with overentusiastic fanbases on twitter and it. never. ends. well.
