Premiere Pro Issues
I exported my premiere pro video and the exposure changed completeley on it. The first image is what it should look like and the second is what happened to it after it was exported. I managed to change the highlights and the whites on the video so when it was exported it looked slightly better than it did when it was first exported. As you can see, in the second image the models face was way to white and bright when it was first exported, completely differeny to how i had edited in the first place.

Publication Inspiration
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These images were the main inspiration for my publication layout. I was really insired by them becuause even though the layout was simplstic its still effective. I wanted to go down this route because of my theme, it didnt need to be too over the top, i wanted it to focus mainly on the images rather than the layout. In these inspiration photographs, they are all black and white. I havent done this in my publication as i felt as if i needed colour in the photographs to completely convey my theme sucessfully.
These next images i used for inspiration in making my publcation relate more to my theme and video more. I felt as if i needed to include text to highlight the themes and different concepts throughout the publication. The text also broke the publication up a bit more, so it didnt feel to busy. I liked how the text gave it almost a magazine feel but not enough to take away the photo book element from it.

Edited Insecurtity Photogrpahs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These photographs were taken to show the insecurity concept. In the majority of the images, her hands are around her face. This highlights the idea of insecurity because she wants to cover herself up. This contradicts the confidence concept as the model is giving off a completely different persona. The darkness around the images also highlights a gloomy mood. Certain features of a the models face or body is be hidden as the lighting in a picture creates shadows. They appear mysterious or as though she is covering something as a result. The model is able to avoid attention and the spotlight due to nerves. Therefore, the deep shadows in the picture may show insecurity.
However, in the images the model is looking at the camera, ideally when i was going into taking these images i didnt want the model looking at the camera. This is because eye contact with the camera could highlight confidence rather than insecurity. However, I think the model still looks insecure even though she is looking at the camera as she looks worried or scared rather than powerful.

Edited confidence shoot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Confidence is clearly shown in these images, her strong eye contact and body posture highlights this. In addiiton the editing helps emphasise the concept. The last two images have blurred the background out, this helps bring out the model more in the photograph so you have to focus on her, again emphasising her confidence.

Tumblr media
This is my mood board for inspiration for my poses, for the confidence shoot. The use of the chairs and stools really inspires me, I think it gives a sense of authority and therefore confidence. However, with the chair shoots, I need to make sure the model is still looking at the camera and maintaining eye contact so the theme is further emphasised. The model won't be using her hands to cover any part of her body up, showing she is not insecure. The poses will represent her outgoing persona.

Fish Eye Contact Sheets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the contact sheets for my fish eye photoshoot, I have circled a few that I particularly like and will focus on editing for the publication. The reason some aren't circled is that the lighting isn't necessarily good on them, she wasn't posing properly, the camera didn't capture the right angles, or I just didn't like them as much.

Fish Eye Photoshoot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The whole aim of the fish eye photoshoot is to convey the concept of confidence. I made sure the model was looking directly at the camera in the majority of the photos. Eye contact is extremely key in a confidence photoshoot. To do this photo shoot I used a wide lens on the camera. In most of my images, this was successful in creating the desired look. The styling of the shoot was chosen in response to the confidence concept. Bright colours emphasise confidence, in addition to the smaller amounts of clothing and skin showing. These elements both emphasise confidence. I have slightly edited the images so the model looks more tanned and so the lighting isn't too bright. In addition, I also edited out the shiny parts of the skin to make the images look more airbrushed. I like the second image where the model's clothing looks as if it is coming from the camera, it creates a different perspective, it isn't as fish eye as I would have liked but it still has the confident feel to it. In addition, I think I could have done the shoot in a location, in my inspiration board, there are many images in interesting locations. This would have maybe made my shoot look more aesthetically pleasing. After I went through my photographs I decided to edit them further. I edited the screen on them, making them slightly brighter and look more editorial.

Confidence Test Shoot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was the first test shoot I did. I based it on the theme of confidence. Confidence is shown through eye contact with the camera. This again emphasises that the models aren't scared of the camera and are relaxed in front of it. Their body language is strong which suggests confidence and assertiveness. Good posture emphasises to others that the individuals are comfortable in their own skin. The models look confident in what they're wearing, fur coats can represent authority and wealth, which would be another reason you would be comfortable and confident. In the first image, the model is applying makeup and looking into a small compact mirror. This was done to show a reason why the model could be confident, make-up is one of the main reasons why people feel confident within themselves as they feel like it makes them look better. The idea of looking into a mirror also emphasises the idea of confidence because the models aren't afraid or upset at looking at themselves. In the last image, I really liked the use of the chair. I thought it created levels in the image and made it more interesting. However in future shoots, if I do use a chair/stool, I need to make sure the model is sitting up straight and has better posture, this will emphasise the theme of confidence even further.

Everyone shows insecurity and confidence in different ways
I am going to do multiple shoots for each theme with different models. This clearly highlights the different insecurities and different ways and reasons why the models are confident.
