thinking about when my professor told me how the boards of companies/orgs/etc. will sometimes hire on a CEO/whatever who they know will basically take a chainsaw to existing infrastructure, let them fuck as much shit up as possible, and then promptly fire them as soon as they've accomplished what the board wanted them to do. then they can point the finger at that guy & look like they're the heroes and the problem is resolved because he's gone now. and they still get to keep all the changes they wanted that nobody else did.

anyway I think it's fun and all to watch the two most divorced men on the planet publicly divorce each other. and also. maybe keep that in mind, is all.

Thinking a lot about the military and how it seems to exacerbate the worst instincts in men esp wrt violence against women. Vanessa guillen being one example of what goes on in the service, publicized due to the courageousness of Vanessas family, similar incidents typically being covered up and kept from the press by the institution. Thinking of these crimes more in light of the man (ex military) who just killed his 3 daughters, and of course the keyes discovery. Keyes by way of origin story in an fbi interview says that the military changed his worldview. having suppressed the urge to kill and harm innocent, random people prior to serving, he said his years in the service made him think “if i wanted to do it i should just do it” To which an investigator says “do what? Kill?” Keyes responds “yeah.” And indeed, after his honorable discharge from the military his murder and crime spree accelerared, or perhaps began. It’s believed (theorized by the FBI although never confirmed by keyes or by the feds) that he killed and disposed of a victim in the late 90s, when he was 17. His victim thought to be a 12 year old girl and a special olympics medalist, a double amputee. Cops beat their wives at a staggering rate, something like 80% have domestic violence reports in their marriage. I would venture to say military is even worse, or at the very least, the crimes against women are even more severe. The military definitely emphasizes attitudes of misogyny, patriarchal hierarchy, kyriarchy, and brute force. There should be more studies on this, and they should be conducted by researchers outside of America.
