One of the most striking things in "Capitalist Realism" is the sheer inability for those under capitalism to imagine an alternative (especially in the imperial core); a lot of it largely not at their fault. If you grew up in an environment where everything around you insisted this the way things are, have been, and will be, you will be shaped by it! But that's where my sympathies end because once you step into the political sphere, you have to step outside your conditioning and challenge your held assumptions. But time and time again, liberals will rather retreat to the safety of the manufactured falsehood they were raised in than face material reality.
