Had another amazing surprise last week - my debut CD was nominate for two more awards by the Native American Style Flute Awards !! One for "Album of the Year" and a second for "Best Producer" which is very humbling on both accounts. I want to give a shout out to all of the nominees and participant's in every category. So encouraging to be included alongside truly incredible talent and giftedness. 🎵 - It was a cold week where I live and I am not very inclined to enjoy the colder temperatures and conditions. However, I am reminded that there is beauty in all of creation, even the parts that make me uncomfortable. Even in environments where I am not inclined to be comfortable or at peace I can find the Creator's work and love and attention to detail. Every life has its seasons. Some are comfortable and some are not - but each is an opportunity to experience and learn about our Creator's love and provision. 🎵- Cat-Tails are beautiful and unusual plants that live near lakes and streams where the soil and nourishment is enriching and life giving. Not only are the wondrous to look at, they also provide many interesting uses. From wikipedia = "The seed hairs were used by some Indigenous peoples of the Americas as tinder for starting fires. [Cat-Tails] can be dipped in wax or fat and then lit as a candle, the stem serving as a wick. Without the use of wax or fat it will smolder slowly, somewhat like incense, and may repel insects.Some tribes also used [Cat-Tail] down to line moccasins, and for bedding, diapers, baby powder, and cradleboards. One Native American word for [Cat-Tail] meant "fruit for papoose's bed". [Cat-Tail] down is still used in some areas to stuff clothing items and pillows."
