Some thoughts on the script. Brevity is not my thing here😅😅
I am currently writing biographies of Egyptian characters in order to determine their relationship to each other and begin writing the script in more detail. Otherwise, I scattered the basis of the story by season and episode, but then it goes in fragments: either I can delve into the detailed writing of the scene of the conflict I like or the dialogue of the characters (which is well represented in my head), or just briefly write what should happen in the scene / dialogue. But how to approach this has not yet occurred to me.
I think this is precisely due to the fact that I did not prescribe a biography for the separately created characters to match their roles and tasks in the plot, the matter does not stick further. It is important to understand where a character's motivation comes from, and what set of knowledge and skills he has. In general, it helps to feel the character better and present his actions and words convincingly.
Most of all, Seth's family will have to be prescribed, because he is the main character of the entire plot. And his conflict with Osiris, how it ended, why Seth came to power with such a crime, why the other gods didn't do anything about it - it's important to think about everything, because I want to reveal this story in more detail (season 3 will be about half or more devoted to these issues). Something to which the myth itself does not provide an answer or explanation, but leaves with questions.
It is somewhat similar to how in their works D. Milton and Vondel Joost Van Den revealed in the biblical myth those details about which the Bible did not explain.
For example, I've always wondered how Lucifer got so proud. Out of the blue? He served God as usual, until one day he was struck by lightning or faced with a thundercloud? What was the trigger of his jealousy/envy/pride? I was wondering what served as the starting point for it, but since the biblical myth was written to tell how the Jewish people came to be and reveal their relationship to their god Yahweh, neither angels nor demons are revealed there.
Actually, wanting to reveal in more detail how the riot happened, how it started, and what the exiled angels did afterward, I wanted to make a comic strip. I liked the version of Lucifer from the poem Paradise Lost, but I decided to fix some details in my own way, as I see this character. Initially, Lucifer was supposed to be the main character, but after one idea that, as it seemed to me, no one had implemented yet, the story moved towards Egypt and Seth became the main character of the plot.
I repeat, but it's probably already clear even from the line of characters what Seth has to do with it and what role he will play in the biblical myth (I just want to ask you if the main plot twist is immediately clear from the outside or not😅 If you've read up to this point, please share🙏)
If spoilers don't spoil your interest in how this turn happened, under what circumstances, and how the characters reacted to it (I'm always interested in this when I find out a spoiler), then I can write you a concept idea for the whole story in one sentence (it contains a spoiler)

I drew a redesign of Osiris while I described in more detail how and why Nephthys decided to betray Seth. Only now has it been possible to capture the right facial features for Osiris. The first concept was more of an outline to fill in the tree of the Triad (Egyptian gods).
I think this is his final version, because in season 2 he won't be there at all, because at the time of Gore's story he will already be killed, and in season 3 it will only be necessary to reveal Seth's past and his relationship with his family

I'm looking for the same construction scheme for all the characters so that the proportions don't jump between different pictures. The problems begin when you need to exaggerate the proportions of the character more in order to emphasize his power and strength. (it mainly concerns male characters and female combat characters).
Here I tried to redraw Moloch in order to remember how his hairstyle is drawn, to change the type of cloak so that it does not give him some kind of childishness. And at the same time I tried to redraw its proportions. Like with the redrawn Yahweh, Moloch didn't change much in size externally, only his legs had to be made narrower.
At the same time, I remembered that, according to the idea, demons can "summon"/ grow some kind of wings, I decided to remember their structure and try to draw folded ones.

I had the flu for a couple of weeks, so with a "hot" head, I decided not to deal with the script, as I had planned on vacation, but to get well first. However, while I was waiting in line at the clinic, I finished painting a child's pigtail to the Horus. In general, it will only be needed in one episode, but it will be necessary to somehow highlight that before he discovers his divine elemental powers, he will still be underage and only after that will he be considered an adult

I sketched out a final version of the child Horus model sheet, which will be needed for a short exposure in episode 1 of season 2.
Hopefully, once I'm done writing out the script conflicts and moving on to the character model sheets, I'll look for a single algorithm for building them so that the proportions for each frame are the same for all the characters, I won't have to redraw the already updated sheets much.

I feel like I'm walking on a blade with this sketch, but it's still going to be covered in the comic book itself. It seems to me that only because of these two, the comic will have to hang an 18+ die instead of 16+, although the details of their interactions will not be anywhere near the level of the "Ennead" manga.
The secondary arc of these two, like the rest of the characters, is already woven into the main plot. Without their "interaction", the main plot would have developed along a different path. So it is justified by the scenario, as well as by the biblical myth.
The episode of Sodom was taken from there, and to reveal this particular part of the Biblical myth, the demon Belial was originally included in the cast of characters. And then, in addition to it, Asmodeus was prescribed - I decided to reveal my variation / assumption: why Asmodeus, being a seraphim (proud, principled, obviously would not allow himself to stoop to such a small sin as lust), became a demon, personifying this lust. It's simple - he became the only one of the seraphim who had sexual contact with anyone, and to aggravate his conflict, that someone would be the demon Belial. Although there will be no division into the sins of demons in the plot, visually, it will become clear that one of the main sins is attributed to them. Belial's main problem will not be lust, but addiction to addictive substances, the rest is just a consequence.
For those who do not like such interactions, there will also be characters in the plot who do not tolerate and do not consider such relationships normal. As I wrote in the brief description of Belial's character, for the demon community, sodomites will be something unacceptable, demeaning demons. The seraphim's, whose representative Moloch will be shown, will be especially intolerant of this. His complete opposite, both in character and principles, will be Belial, who will personify the archai demons, who absolutely do not care about such "interactions".
Of course, the arc of these characters and this theme will not be the main one, but only a secondary one. In addition to promoting the main plot, its main function will be to reveal the way of life, hierarchy and relationships of demons among themselves, their society. Since such an episode was, albeit briefly, indicated in the biblical myth, its disclosure in more detail, especially in the person of demons (who are considered negative and negative characters in the Bible), is fully justified and will not constitute any kind of propaganda or demonstration of any values❌

I'm still working on the world setting. I got involved with the detailed description and disclosure of minor characters, namely the Egyptian gods. I can't reveal them without explaining (at least to myself) where they came from. I didn't want to reveal it and get into this mess, but it fits perfectly with the main theme of the story (about improper upbringing), so I'll have to do it.
At the same time, I decided to throw on the proportions of the Ata character and change the clothes a little for them. According to the idea, if she's going to be shown as a 13-year-old teenager, I need to set her design to match. True, her previous design is cuter and I liked it better, but it won't do. According to the plot, due to the onset of puberty, she will begin a secondary arch. According to the old design, she doesn't look much like a teenager, she could have been given a maximum of 9-10 years.
Damn, now I have to rethink why Lilith originally hid Ata's gender from Lucifer😅 The character's design is tied to this, as is her conflict with Lucifer. While I was writing down the influence of Lucifer on the main plot, his conflict, etc., I changed his character in an order, and with that, his arc with Lilith and Ata. I had a feeling that the old plot would be thoroughly redone as soon as I started writing everything down in more detail😬 But I'm glad that I was able to rewrite so that the arcs of other characters had more influence on the main conflict and somehow reflected / told the main theme of the story.
It feels like I'm not writing a script, but stitching a blanket from different pieces of fabric😅

In the original myth, it is explained that 2 points are revealed in this scene:
It explains why Isis used to be depicted with horns on her head (she "dresses" a cow after losing her head). This is most likely a late reworking; among the Egyptians, almost every god simply includes an older one, which he once replaced. Similarly, Isis periodically presented the functions of Hathor.
The conflict of kinship was explained. Up to a certain point, the Egyptians considered a brother to be closer by kinship than the mother's own son. After a while, it became the other way around. This conflict is revealed here. Isis accidentally hits and wounds Horus instead of Seth. Horus is outraged that she does not spare her own son. Isis then hits and wounds Seth, as she originally wanted, but then he is outraged that her son is more precious to her than her brother. To which Isis takes pity and releases Seth.
After all, it was precisely because of this "brother" that Horus lost his normal childhood, his father, and was almost dishonored by Seth when he invited him to "bury the hatchet" after Horus' next victory in the competition. It is not surprising that after such a decision by Isis, Horus became furious with her.
Hey, Egyptian Mythology Tumblr. If you're at all familiar with the story of Horus decapitating Isis after she intervened in a fight between him and Set, then
Of course there are multiple recorded versions of this myth with differences between them that might change how you look at it. And sometimes the difference is that they directly state different reasons for why he did it. So maybe explain your reasoning and which version(s) of the story you know in the tags?
I've noticed that when asked, people will give extremely different answers for what they think his motive was, so I'm very curious to see how many different answers I'll get.
Oh also, for bonus points, why do you think Isis intervened and why do you think she struck Horus (and are those different reasons or are they the same reason)?

Around the same year as the illustrations for the book about writing gags in movies, I drew illustrations for a book about a movie actor. I finished all the illustrations for her, even drew the cover for the book.
The book told about the biography of this actor and in parallel, how he shot the films to which the illustrations referred. The order of the artwork is exactly as it was intended in the book: from top to bottom, from left to right
However, I decided to remove the headlines from the illustrations here, the pun is not understood in translation

I've been drawing these illustrations for a book for a long time. However, the book never came out with my illustrations, as I did not finish the required amount of art. I had to get distracted by my main job. In the book, the characters were supposed to give the reader an excursion into the world of cinema and at the same time tell how the gags are created in the script. The order of the illustrations is exactly as it was intended in the book: from top to bottom, from left to right.
In a good way, the inscription Lazy Studio should have been translated, but with the translation, the pun disappears)

Updates to the script
Over the past week, I've reviewed the prescribed minor story arcs of season 1. I decided to reduce their number, there are too many of them for season 1. I found it necessary to remove 2 arches:
❌1 arc "Lucifer's Lie". She has no antagonist, as such, and no goal that Lucifer would pursue in order to develop the arch. In it, he rather seeks to leave everything as it is, while Moloch, with the arch "Head of the Abyss", trying to achieve his goal prevents Lucifer. So I'll just drag the events from the unnecessary arch into the "Head of the Abyss" arch. In addition to revealing Lucifer, she influenced the events of this arc.
Lucifer is supposed to lie not only about what Yahweh did to him in Eden. This event, like the defeat in the 1st uprising, will have to physically and mentally affect him. This influence will force Lucifer to convince the demons to stay in the Abyss, but by lying about his real motive. It is Lucifer who will slow down the new rebellion against Yahweh, that is, the main plot of the entire season, again for his own reasons, and Moloch will oppose him.
❌The 2nd elimination arc is "The Adventures of Belial". In my opinion, it was a pretty stupid idea to give this character such a goal. Of course, this reveals his character, which is what the arc was planned for, but his character will already be eloquently shown in other arcs, where he triggers events - "Temptations for Asmodeus" and "Former Friend" (renamed fallen). In the rest of the arcs, he is not such a full participant, but against the background, through relationships with other characters, he will be sufficiently revealed. So I'm going to remove this disgusting arch for this ridiculous purpose. Otherwise, the character comes out pretty lopsided.

+Updated Lilith's clothes. A little later, I'll draw a finishing concept, probably immediately in the form of a model sheet. Initially, that's how I wanted to tie her outerwear. I even have a very, very old digital art with Lilith, Ata and Lucifer, where Lilith's clothes are tied like this👇
It seems that she was called Himations by the Greeks🤔
Of course, that's exactly how it was never tied by the Greeks, it even reminds me more of a piece of Viking clothing😅 That's why I was looking for another option to tie it over Lilith's night mini dress. The task was to design clothes for ancient Greece, but at the same time maintain a certain frankness of the outfit.
After all, according to the character and plot, Lilith, as in the original myth, is a demoness who loves herself and her appearance, who is used to manipulating men precisely at the expense of her sexuality. In ancient Greece, women, at least decent ones, wore only long dresses. And I couldn't find what the courtesans were wearing there, but that's not the point either.
By nature, despite this type of manipulation, Lilith, with her selfishness, clearly will not consider herself a dishonest woman) However, I drew a short dress, because it would be easier to draw Lilith's hoof legs, and for length I threw a cloth over her hips, securing it with a belt at the waist👌

I am surprised and glad how many subscribers are interested in my work🤩😊 Maybe it's a little bit for someone, but not for me. Especially considering that I rarely add to my blog😅, and I don't communicate with subscribers that often. Still, the main job consumes a lot of time, but it is necessary for stable earnings. So I want to thank you for your interest in my project!😘🥰
Speaking of work. I recently sketched the proportions of the Yahweh character there. I slightly corrected his concept and clothes. I thought it would be better to show his legs and shod him in closed boots made of fabric / leather. I removed the gold fabric frame from the sleeves. For antiquity, such a fabric is unrealizable.
This time, it came out with proportions clearly weaker than the original concept. It will be necessary to correct this either through his angels - to slightly reduce their athletic proportions, so that in comparison with Yahweh they seem weaker, despite his not much greater height than the angels. Or change the proportions of the character on which Yahweh himself is based.
I don't know how conspicuous it turned out to be: Spoiler or not, who is Yahweh) I think the eyes give everything away😅 But that shouldn't spoil the impression too much. Anyway, the viewer should still have a question - "How did he turn out to be one?") And this is exactly what the comic will reveal.
I also noticed that the reference list of the Seth incorrectly depicts the pectoral muscles. They're a little low-slung. They should occupy 1/2 the volume of the chest, it turned out incorrectly. I'll fix it later. Basically, the design of almost all the characters is ready. I draw characters from different sides more for myself - to fix the proportions. As I begin to visualize the comic, I will take the proportions from the same reference sheets)

I updated the design of the Horus and painted it from different sides in combat clothes. Considering that unlike Seth, Horus did not engage in intensive physical training, and taking into account his young age, in comparison with the mature Seth, I made his physique more lean and lean. He will be nimble and fast rather than strong.
According to the plot, it will be possible to prescribe that Sekhmet or Geb will prepare him a little and train him in combat, but not immediately, and he will still be physically inferior to Seth. After all, a god who has been engaged in hunting since childhood cannot catch up with someone who has been preparing for battles all his life in a few months.

I'm already pretty tired of the character Geb😅 Now I'm happy with his physique and his look, but here's the jaw… It should be heavy to emphasize his severity, but because of the beard and such a jaw shape, instead of an Egyptian, he looks more like a Chechen😬 Is not what I wanted. If I can't find another jaw shape that suits me, then I think this will be the final version. I need to come up with at least some concept that suits me, given the added influence of Geb on Seth in the script.
Geb will need more for some episodes and scenes than I originally planned, for example, for flashbacks to reveal the past Seth. So his previous design was no good at all. Outwardly, he should be a match for a powerful opponent Set. However, according to the original myth, the less powerful Horus was somehow able to win against Seth, but this will be at the expense of his other qualities, which Seth will not have.
According to the idea, Seth will take away by force, or rather in a fair fight, from Geb the power over the main city of Egypt, which will explain how the ambitious Geb voluntarily gave up power and how Seth ended up there. However, this fight is more likely to be needed to complete Seth's psychological confrontation with his father, Geb, than really to explain who and how came to power.
In the case of Geb, a small concept with ambrosia was invented. It is Geb, as the first of the gods of the "flora" (Osiris will be next), who will grow a plant whose fruits will cancel aging. This will work for both gods and humans-it will explain how Lilith was able to live with demons for so many centuries. By the way, it is because of these fruits that demons will penetrate into Eden after being exiled. No one wants to grow old, and the creator of the exiles certainly did not take care that they owned the seeds of these fruits. In the original Egyptian myth, there is no ambrosia, the gods aged, for a very long time, but they still aged. At the oldest of the gods, Ra, with old age, the skin began to turn into silver, bones into gold, and hair into lapis lazuli.
In my concept of history, it is problematic to implement this. I still can't decide whether to come up with a scientific or at least some evolutionary explanation for the powers of gods/angels and their longevity, or leave it as an assumption without explanation - a myth. But then one of the additions to the plot - the pairing of the divine - disappears, because in fact the gods will be omnipotent. In addition, due to the omnipotence of the characters, there will be no framework for their abilities, without these boundaries, although they will be more consistent with the myth, it will be very difficult to explain why they did so and not otherwise. If you start asking logical questions in the myth itself, the conditions of the world and the set characters of the characters will already collapse.
I'll take Milton's "Paradise Lost" as an example. According to his setting, angels, like Lucifer, could take on any shape. After his exile, Lucifer somehow inexplicably changed in appearance and his light darkened. Despite the poetic description of Lucifer's train of thought after his exile by the author, I will sum up the essence of his words - he whined that no one would recognize him as a glorified seraphim, since he was disfigured in appearance. Reading it, I wanted to say: "Man, you can take on your former appearance whenever you want!"🤦♀️ That's why I made angels in my setting almost like people, the only difference is in longevity, artificial "creation" and the presence of elemental force. The rest of the needs are the same.
