Once Natalie came back Kevin cried hard as she coughed up blood. He wiped her mouth and held on to her tightly. "We have to take her to get looked at." The professor said softly. As he pulled him away from Natalie. "No.. Don't touch her!" He screamed as Trinx stood there smiling rather proud of herself.
Once Natalie was taken away it was just Kevin and Trinx. He felt his blood begin to boil and he stood up and wiped the tears from his eyes. "You goddamn bitch!" He yelled as he fumbled looking for his wand. Once he had it he firmly gripped it and pointed it at her. "You've made her suffer enough! Now it's your turn!" He closed one eye and aimed. "Stupify!" He yelled and knocked her down. Just then Kevin's roommate came running towards him and tackled him to the ground. Kevin began to sob as his friend held him.
"Don't do this Kevin! She isn't worth it!" He said to Kevin. Kevin felt himself battling with himself to stay sane. "She hurt her!" He cried out. Trinx stood there and laughed evilly. "Get me out of here.." Kevin said softly. "Get me out of here before I send myself to Azkaban!!" He screamed at Trinx as his friend stood him up and dragged him away.
There are many types of pain caused by the crucio spell, muscular pain, bone pain, and mental pain. Dependent on the individual, the curse effected people differently. Due to the intensity and anger that Trinx was feeling, she had shifted over to mental pain. It felt as if someone had sliced through Natalie’s skull, started an electric saw, and she was shaken in different directions. She knew she was screaming, but the pain continued.
Suddenly, everything turned black. When she opened her eyes, there was nothing but water for miles, and miles. Natalie was standing in it, and when she shuffled her foot she noticed how utterly cold the water was. There was no sky, no ground underneath the murky water, everything that she saw was water. There was a voice whispering in the background, it was soft and calming but almost too soft to hear.
“I’m here, I’m here.” Natalie gasped as she realized who the voice belonged to. Kevin. She took a step forward, towards the voice, towards him. As she did, the ground gave out from beneath her. Water engulfed her, and made it hard for her to breathe. She struggled in the thick water, feeling like every movement made her sink deeper into the depth. Her lungs were screaming for air, and she could feel an intense pain in her head as she tried to hold in whatever small breath she had. She finally let the breath out, and gasped letting the water fill her mouth and her lungs. Strangely, she could taste iron… She could taste blood.
Then, she began to cough. It was over in a few minutes, another student had tackled Trinx and kicked her wand over the edge of the bridge. Right as that happened, a professor ran up with a group of students who had witnessed the duel. Natalie gasped, feeling the warm liquid in her mouth. She spat out the blood as best as she could, and took deep intense breaths. She had bit her lip and her tongue intensely her mouth had filled with blood. She felt someone holding her, and found it extremely hard to concentrate. Her eyes felt so heavy, and her lungs were gasping for every breath they could.
“Kevin…” She whispered to the individual holding her. She knew it was him, she knew it by his smell and the gentle hands holding her to his chest. She tried to stay conscious, feeling herself slipping into the deepness of her mind. Then, everything went black again only this time there was nothing.

Natalie and Kevin had been doing well, he knew that things had been hard for Natalie as she was adjusting back to everyday life. He knew that she felt that a big part of her was missing, but he didn't know how to help her. All he could do was be there for her which he'd do happily. Kevin and Natalie had been inseparable since she was out of the hospital. They would go to great hall for breakfast every morning then go their separate ways for class in the morning, meet up for lunch, and then at dinner head to Hogsmeade. Today Kevin had to stay after class to study a bit more for his potions class, as that was his weakest class. He sent Natalie a text that he would meet her by the lake around 4 p.m.
Kevin sat in the study group writing notes quickly. All he could do is think about Natalie and how he wanted her in his arms for the rest of the night. Once Kevin has finished he said goodbye to his friends and headed to his dorm and changed quickly and went to go buy some flowers. Sure he was running a bit late, but he knew the flowers would make up for it. Kevin made his way to the herbology lab and spoke with the professor about getting some flowers. She gladly gave him an assortment of flowers. He smiled at her and took the flowers and began to walk.
As we walked along he admired at what a beautiful day it was. He looked up at the sky and saw only one cloud and smiled to himself. School was almost over and it was bitter sweet. Bitter because Natalie would be graduating and sweet because they would spend the summer together. He smiled thinking about all the things they would do together. Kevin also began to wonder what would happen when he went back to school. He quickly shook the thought from his head as he heard some heavy footsteps running towards him. It was Wesley Snodgreen, one of Kevin's roommares. Wesley had bright red hair and was very heavy set. He was clearly out of breath when he made it to Kevin. "Kevin! Kevin!" He said on the verge of throwing up. "What is it?!" Kevin looked at the boy worried. "What's the matter?!" He said even more concerned. "Na-Natalie!" Wesley finally said as he bent over and tried to catch his breath. Kevin put his hand on the boy's back and rubbed it slowly. "What's wrong?" He said softly. "She's dueling Trinx!" He said. "Where is she..." He said looking at Wesley. "The lake!" Kevin nodded and started running.
Kevin ran, faster than he ever had in his entire life. He could feel his blood boiling. Knowing that she was in a duel, knowing that someone wanted to hurt her just made him so angry. Kevin ran faster and faster then found himself on the ground. He tripped over his footing and laid on the ground for a second. There was no time to check himself or cry from the pain, Natalie was in trouble!
When he got to the bridge where they said they'd meet he saw a crowd of people and heard the two girls spewing spells at one another. He tried to push through the crowd to get a better view of what was going on. He called out to Trinx. "Stop! Don't do this to her!" He yelled out. "Move! Move!" He shouted as he shoved through the crowd. He finally made it the front when he heard Trinx utter the spell. "Crucio!"
"No!!" He screamed he watched Natalie twitch on the ground. "Let her go!" His eyes started to sting as the tears burned. "Let her fucking go!!!" He screamed. Kevin ran out and took Natalie in his arms and felt her shake and seize. "I'm here, I'm here." He looked down at her and moved the hair out of her face and looked down at her. His tears rolled down his cheek and splashed onto her face. Trinx was manipulating her causing her to shakes to become lore violent. Natalie was now at the point where she was hurting Kevin, but he didn't care. "Stop hurting her right now! I'll give you anything!!" He said looking at Trinx. "Please stop!" He cried resting his head against Natalie's forehead. "Anything." He spoke. The Slytherins began to laugh at Kevin as he cried and the other students dispersed. "Finish her!" Some yelled out to Trinx. "If you kill her, kill me too." Kevin cried as he held his love tighter. "Just make it quick!" Kevin said closing his eyes waiting for the blow.
Things had been going as well as they could. Natalie still had no recollection of her past, but she kept an open mind, and an open heart for Kevin. It certainly wasn’t easy, but he made it as simple as possible for her. He was there when she needed him, and kept his distance when she was overwhelmed. It was a strange feeling, to have someone be able to read her so easily.
Natalie sat on the bridge by Great Lake, letting her feet dangle over the edge. She was extremely distracted, unable to finish more than one page of her Defense Against the Dark Arts book. Suddenly from the background she heard a few voices, and cringed at the high-pitched laugh coming from the group. It was her cousin, Trinx. She was with a few others from her house, the ones who had openly picked on her. Natalie never openly let it bother her, and she wasn’t about to let it bother her now.
“Look who it is!” Trinx sneered, Natalie not bothering to look in her direction. “My dear cousin. I don’t see your pet anywhere around, guess he must be lost.” The group she was with laughed in unison.
“Bite me.” Natalie whispered, turning a page, pretending to be too busy to acknowledge her.
“You know cousin, you should come join us. We’re sneaking out into the Forbidden Forest to drink a bottle of fire whisky.”
“I’d rather not. Thanks though. Some of us have better things to do.”
“Pussy whipped.” Muttered one of the males in the group, and Trinx kept the same sneer on her face.
“You have changed. It makes me a bit sad to see you turn into such a recluse.” Trinx pitched in.
“It’s the Hufflepuff, he must be a really good lay for her to turn into a bore.” Said one of the other girls, whom Natalie did not exactly remember her name.
“You know, I would lovvvvee to sit here and be ridiculed about how I spend my time but there is a quiz in Defense Against the Dark Arts that I would really like to pass so I can actually get out of this fucking hell hole and do something with my life unlike you low-lives so, kindly piss the fuck off.” Natalie said through gritted teeth, and turned back to her book. There were a few ooo’s and growls from behind her.
“Make me.” Trinx said harshly, and Natalie’s veins turned cold. There was a rare occasion that she backed down from a challenge, and after all that Trinx had put her through lately, she found it extremely hard to stay seated. Natalie drew her wand, and easily twirled in her cousin’s direction, ready for what would come.
“You always were a freak of nature, Natalie. I’m not going to battle you.”
“You’re afraid.” Natalie said matter-of-factly, and did not lower her wand. “You chatter like a little bird, but you’re too afraid to back anything up. I’m sick of your bullshit Trinx. You’re a coward, and a loser and I’m ready to prove it to you.” Trinx’s face started to turn the color of blood, and she quickly pulled out her wand. Natalie bowed, and stepped back so there was space between them on the bridge. Trinx’s friends exited to either side of the bridge, afraid to be hit in the cross fire. Trinx laughed somewhat at her friends, acting as if this battle would be over before it started.
“Ready?” Natalie said, calm as a cucumber. There was a flash in Trinx’s eye; fear.
“Ready.”
“Confringo!” Natalie made the first move, sending a blast her cousin’s way. Spells of all kinds were thrown in every direction, easily missing each one of them. Soon, more people had gathered to witness the battle. Natalie shot Trinx with a disarming spell, sending her wand flying. Trinx’s face was now as bright as the sun, and she was out for blood.
“It was me you idiot.” She hissed, throwing venom at her cousin. “I was the one who took away your memories, and tortured you. If you think I won’t do it again, you are dead wrong!” She ran forward, snatching her wand and pointing it in Natalie’s direction. “Crucio!” She screamed, a smile pulled onto her lips.
The breath was knocked out of Natalie as she hit the ground, and felt the intense burning sensation she continued having in her dreams.

How did we meet? Those words made him smile as the thought back to how they met. "Well," Kevin said and took her hands. "I was walking to the kitchens to cook, like I usually do. And you were running away from someone or something. You were in rush or something and we collided." Kevin looked at her and chuckled. "And then you told me to watch where I was going even though you were the one charging at me. Then, we got to talking and somehow I got you to come to the kitchen with me to teach you how to make pumpkin cookies. And then the next thing I knew I was head over heals. You were wearing a black shirt, with that necklace you always wear and these jeans... They had a tear on the knee. And your hair fell perfectly." He smiled thinking about it. He paused afraid to ask the next question. "Do you remember it at all?"

When Natalie finally returned to the room Kevin was more than excited to see her, but since he still felt like he had been hit by a double decker bus, he could only offer her a quaint smile. “I’m not sure why people do this. This isn’t fun.” Kevin said honestly sitting himself up seeing the sandwich she brought for him. “Steak, eggs, and jam?” It didn’t sound unappealing to the growing boy, so he shrugged and tok a large bite out of the sandwich, which he found delicious to his own surprise. “It’s not bad.” Kevin said with a mouth full of the sandwich. “Sorry.” He chuckled and finished his bite before he said another word.
Kevin noticed that she was silent for a few moments and then saw her playing with her nails. He shrugged it off and took a big bite of the sandwich. He noticed that she began to play with her phone, wondering what was so important. Then noticing when she asked the question it was to protect herself. “So… are you and Trinx like… friends or something?” He almost choked on his food when she brought her up. He quickly grabbed a glass of water before answering and waited for his coughing to settle. “Pardon?” He said looking at her. “Trinx annoys the shit out of me.” Kevin said a little hurt that she would even ask.
“You know that I only have eyes for you.” He said looking at her. “Ever since your incident, she’s like… clung to me. Almost like a leech.” Kevin chuckled. “Why? Are you jealous.” He said playfully then his laughing came to a cease when he saw the unamused look on her face. “You have nothing to worry about, Nat.” He signed to her looking into her brown eyes. “She’s just a person who happens to be slightly obsessed with me. Nothing I can’t handle. I only went to that party with her because I promised her while I wasn’t paying attention. You really have nothing to worry about.” He repeated again then took a bite of the food.
Jealous? Was Natalie jealous? She didn’t know what jealousy felt like, but she guessed it probably felt like what she was feeling. She rarely had to fight for anyone’s attention, so the thought of someone else fighting for Kevin’s… well, it made her blood boil slightly. Especially if it was Trinx. But Kevin’s joke did not amuse her, so instead she shrugged her shoulders cooly and pretended like it wasn’t a big deal.
“My cousin is a manipulative little git, I was just making sure that she hadn’t lured you in with her bullshit is all.” She said, trying to make it seem like she wasn’t actually jealous or worried. Deep down she was sighing with relief that he didn’t have any sort of feelings for her.
She was still trying to get used to hearing him say romantic or sweet things to her. It was something she wasn’t normally used to. Normally it was pretty much, do you need more alcohol so we can go find somewhere to snogg later… not I have eyes only for you.
“Okay, so let’s play a game. I ask you questions about things and you answer them! Since… well, I can’t remember.” Natalie turned to face him, laying down on her stomach to put her head in her hands. “How did we meet?” Natalie pretended to be writing these things down in an imaginary journal.

Kevin had no words to say back to her promising to try harder other than a simple “Okay.” He knew it was killing her to open up to anyone especially with something like asking for help. Once he was all tucked in he returned the kiss and looked into her eyes. “Don’t be too long?” He smiled at her half heartedly and closed his eyes. Once he heard the door behind her close he opened one eye and sat up. His roommates walked in the room and turned on the lights and Kevin felt like he had been hit by a bus. “Bloody hell! Turn that light off, Maxson!” Kevin exclaimed. Jeffery Maxson was a tall blonde kid who always had a thing for Natalie. “Are you two back together yet?” He asked as he turned the light back out. Kevin stayed quiet unsure how to answer. Maxson stared at him for a moment and smirked. “Well, do you mind if I…” Kevin shot him a look of disgust. “You leave her alone!” Kevin held his head and let out a groan. “Either get what you came for and shut up or just get out!”
Maxson quickly left the room. The thought of Natalie with another person made him cringe and made him sick to his stomach… Or maybe it was the booze. Yep. It was the booze. He quickly got up and ran to the small wastebasket in the room and vomited rather violently. “Sweet Mother Merlin!” He said to himself as he threw up more. Kevin laid on the floor and moaned and groaned in pain. He army crawled to the night stand and reached for his phone and texted Natalie. He wrote: How do I stop the vomiting? I feel like death. Literally on the floor. Ugh.
Kevin laid on the floor for a good thirty minutes and then mustered up the energy to get back into bed and he took a long drink of the water and laid down and closed his eyes. “I’m never drinking again.” He muttered to himself. Soon he found himself drifting off to sleep. He didn’t really dream, he woke up in a night sweat hoping to see her there. But alas she was not back. He closed his eyes again for a moment then reached over to the night stand and took another long drink of the water then closed his eyes again wondering when Natalie would be back. He couldn’t get himself to fall asleep so he sat up and waited.
Natalie stood with her back against his door for a few additional seconds, rubbing her eyes slightly. Sleeping in the desk chair in his room was pretty uncomfortable, and besides feeling extremely exhausted, she also felt pretty sore. She decided to go have a shower, hoping that the water would heal her sore muscles. Maxson, Kevin’s roommate, gave her the same hello he always did, looking out of the corner of his eyes at the fact that Natalie had just left Kevin’s room. She smiled, and went on her way.
When she arrived in the bathrooms, there were a few other girls who were also cleaning themselves up from the party. Natalie, not in the mood to be social, went directly to a shower. She stood under the water for a very long time, allowing the hot water to wash over her entire body. When she was done, she wrapped herself in a towel and went out to her clothes. Only there was her cousin Trinx, using her cell phone. Natalie quickly snatched the phone out of her hand, and picked up the rest of her clothes.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Natalie asked quickly, a sour taste in her mouth over the fact that Trinx and Kevin had gone to the party with each other last night. She looked down at her phone, noting that Kevin had texted her.
“You guys are talking again, then?” Trinx asked with poison in her veins. Natalie didn’t need to hear her voice to know her cousin was pissed off, they had the same eyes, Natalie knew.
“Is there something I can help you with? I would like to put on some clothes, unless you don’t mind dear cousin.” Natalie hissed back, dropping the towel and smirking at how fast her cousin escaped the changing room.
**
Natalie brought some food over to Kevin’s room later that night, finding it a little hard to come sooner because she was still feuding about Trinx. What was her fucking problem? Natalie knocked on the door, and snuck into the room. Kevin was laying on the bed, looking absolutely miserable. He also looked a little pale, which was the sign that he had been throwing his guts up all afternoon.
“I have come with the ultimate cure-all. I had Chrissy in the kitchens cook it up. She does it for all of us when we have a hang over. Steak and Egg sandwich with jam. It sounds a tad strange, but trust me it’s magic on its own.” Natalie put the box of food next to Kevin, and sat down on the bed next to him. Natalie helped him sit up, putting the box of food in his lap. “Eat, trust me. It will help you feel better.”
When he started eating, Natalie tugged on her fingernails, a horrible habit that she had established after she woke from the hospital. She picked up her phone, pretending to be looking at something, and started the conversation.
“So… are you and Trinx like… friends or something?” Natalie looked over at him, trying to act cool. Though, honestly, she wanted to find the deepest hole to trick her cousin into. They had never gotten along as children, Trinx was extremely manipulative, jealous, and extremely dense… Natalie had gotten in trouble multiple times for beating on her cousin. Her parents, of course never told her to back down, but it was her Aunt and Uncle who frowned upon her behavior. But the thought of Trinx and Kevin even has friends, made Natalie pissed off. Trinx never wanted anything unless it benefitted her, and so Natalie knew she was up to no good.

A Few Not So Cute Couple Things
that time I rolled over and kissed her in bed and she punched me in the eye
that time she passive aggressively woke me up by lying with her face an inch from mine and breathing loudly
that time she tried to sneak into bed in the middle of the night and ended up pulling my hair so hard I cried
that thing she does all the time where she desperately wants my attention and then 0.25 seconds later she’s like ‘naw man, why u so clingy?’
all the times when she watches me undress with this vacant blank expression. like, that’s cool. judge away.
the way she totally loves me even when this love is expressed via waiting until I least expect it and then licking me violently
