How to choose proper skateboard wheel? Replacement wheels buying guide
Typically made of polyurethane, skateboard wheels come in a range of sizes, colors, and durability levels to suit your skateboard style and preference. Usually, skateboard wheels come in sets of four and require eight bearings to properly function. Two bearings are embedded into each wheel which then allows it spin freely on the axle of a truck.
Learn some basic concepts.
Skateboard wheels are measured by both diameter and durometer. Diameter is the size of the wheel, and durometer is the hardness of the wheel. Both of these factors are a matter of personal preference, and what you intend to do on your skateboard.
Skateboard wheel size is always measured in diameter by millimeters. The larger the wheel, the faster you'll go.
Durometer rating is a measure of a wheel’s hardness. Soft wheels could absorb the impact of pebbles, sticks, and cracks for better cruising on roads; hard wheels are more for tricks, jumps, and grinds.
Choosing a skateboard wheel size (diameter)
What size wheels should I ride? Consider what purpose and then so what type of wheels you need.
Skateboard wheel diameter is measured in millimeters (mm); most wheels range from 48-75mm, and the lower the number, the smaller the wheel. Wheel diameter also affects how quickly you accelerate and how tightly you can turn. Smaller wheels result in a slower ride, whereas larger wheels result in a faster one.
A lower millimeter wheel is usually preferred for street skating, as they are lighter for flip tricks but more difficult to ride on rougher surfaces. A larger wheel helps you skate rougher ground and ride up transitions easier. You can still skate street with larger wheels, but it will result in your skateboard feeling heavier.
Wheels 60mm and larger are usually used for cruiser boards, where you are more focused on riding and not as concerned with doing flip tricks. The wheel is heavier but also covers more surface area, making it faster when riding.

Choosing a skateboard wheel hardness (durometer)
Durometer measures the skateboard wheel's hardness, which can in turn specify if that particular wheel is better suited for skateboards or longboards. Most manufacturers use the Durometer A Scale, which is a 100-point scale that quantifies how hard a wheel is. The higher the number, the harder the wheel, although the average wheel durometer is 99a.
Harder skate wheels are more responsive, slide easier, and hold speed better on smooth surfaces. Soft wheels are great for cruising, filming, and going through rough terrain. If you use your skateboard primarily for transportation or non-trick related usage, these are for you.
If you skate mostly for transportation, then big and soft wheel is better for you.
If you like technical skating and tricks, then small and hard wheel may be a good choice.

Some usage tips share with you
Wheels:
Check your wheels before each play. If they are broken, change them in time.
Clean your wheels regularly so you could use them longer.
Children must play skateboard under adults' supervision.
Bearings:
After encountering water or sliding in the sand, remove the wheel, clean the bearings with a dry cloth.
Recommend to change 8 bearings even if you find just one or two bearing is broken.

Question: How to choose a switching power supply?
Question: How to choose a switching power supply?

JoyNano Answer:
1. To increase the reliability of switching power supply, we suggest users choose a unit that has a rating of 30% more power than actual need. For example, if the system needs a 100W source, we suggest that users choose a switching power supply with 130W of output power or more. By doing this, you can effectively boost the reliability of the switching power supply in your system.
2. We also need to consider about ambient temperature of the switching power supply and whether there is additional device for dissipating the heat. If the switching power supply is working in a high temperature environment, we need to make some derating to the output power. Requirement working temperature: -10 to 50 degree Celsius.
3. Choosing functions based on your application:Protection function: Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Over Temperature Protection (OVP), Over Load Protection (OLP), and etc.Application function: Signaling Function (Power Good, Power Fail), Remote Control, Remote Sensing, and etc.
Special function: Power Factor Correction (PFC), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) function.
4. Make sure that the model qualifies for the safety standards and EMC regulations you need.
If the suitable product cannot be found, you can find “Contact Us” on website to call us or send us an email and we will reply your query promptly.

How To Setup a PoE Camera for Your Home – SECUPOE User Guide
PoE stands for power over Ethernet. With PoE cameras both the power and data are supplied by the Ethernet cable. There are several different setup methods you can use when setting up a PoE camera.

Using a PoE Swtich
This is the most common and direct method of setting up a PoE camera. To start, run an Ethernet cable from a PoE network switch port to the PoE camera. Connect the PoE switch to the router, and then power the system up. The PoE network port will provide power and data to the camera.
Using a PoE NVR
Perfect combination of NVR network video recorder and POE switch. You can simply connect all cameras with the NVR directly via the 4, 8 or even 16 PoE ports on it. And add a router if you want remote viewing or push on your phone.
Using Router without PoE
In this case you cannot use PoE and will have to power the camera with an external source. When installing this camera, you will need to run a data line and a power line.

Have no idea what solution of PoE for IP cameras will work best to your specific situation? Leave a comment below, we’ll help you figure it out with the least cost and the easiest installation.

What Is PoE Switch? Why Use It? How to Use It?
The large amount of devices used by industrial applications such as transportation, public facility and manufacturing automation will give rise to the cables in a condition of disorder. With industrial devices becoming more power-hungry, the PoE technology wins a good reputation among users with the capability to provide higher power and reduce the number of cables required. In this article we will discuss what is PoE switch, why use PoE switch and how to use PoE switch.
What Is PoE Switch?
PoE switch or power over ethernet switch is a network switch which applies Power over Ethernet technology. When connected with multiple network devices, PoE switch can support power and data transmission over one Ethernet cable at the same time which dramatically simplify the cabling process and cut network cost. PoE network switch can be classified into many types, such as 8/12/24/48 port PoE switch, or unmanaged and managed PoE switch.

Why Use PoE Switch?
Functionally, PoE switch brings many advantages to an installation, including:
Flexibility: PoE switch supplies power via an Ethernet cable and eliminates the demand for additional electrical wiring. Therefore, equipment can be installed based on where it needs to go. The combination of PoE and wireless technology allows for a practically cable-free environment.
Reliability: PoE power comes from a central and generally compatible source rather than a collection of distributed wall adapters. It can be back-up by an uninterruptible power supply.
Cost-efficient: With PoE network switch, there is no need for users to purchase and install additional electrical wires and outlets, which create significant savings on installation and maintenance costs.

How to Use PoE Switch?
After knowing PoE switch working principle, do you know what is PoE switch used for? PoE switch is mainly used with IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points (WAP).
IP camera
A PoE switch offers power supply and data connection to PoE-enabled IP camera system via network cables like Cat5, Cat5e and Cat6. Nowadays, whatever the industry or location, it is common and even necessary to use PoE managed switch for IP security camera to ensure the safety of people and business.
VoIP Phone
VoIP phone is the most common and original PoE application with a single connection to a wall socket. It can be remotely powered down. With gigabit PoE switch, only data network cable is required. PoE switch has promoted business communication and reduced deployment costs of VoIP.
Wireless
Wireless network is greatly enhanced by the usage of PoE. PoE technology revolutionizes the wireless network by providing data and electricity over the same Ethernet cable. When you use PoE ethernet switch, installation of controllers and access points is greatly simplified. It is considered to be the most widespread way to build enterprise wireless network.

How To Sharpen a Knife With a Whetstone? Steps and Tips by HornTide
The best way of sharpening a knife is with a whetstone. There are other knife sharpening devices available, but most of them tend to grind away too much of your knife’s blade. The HornTide combination whetstone is a traditional way to keep your knives in peak cutting condition. Special proportioned white corundum made waterstone, high hardness and wearproof.
Learning the right way to use a whetstone may take a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be able to keep knives razor sharp, and save time and money.

Here’s How: 1. Place the whetstone on a cutting board or countertop, with the coarse grit face up. A wet paper towel underneath the stone can help keep it from sliding. 2. With one hand, grasp the knife by the handle and hold the edge against the stone, point-first, with the cutting edge meeting the stone at a 22-degree angle. You can stabilize the blade with your other hand. 3. With moderate pressure, slide the blade forward and across the the whetstone, covering the entire length of the blade and keeping the blade flush against the stone at a constant 22-degree angle. 4. Do this 10 times, then flip the knife over and give the other side of the blade 10 strokes on the whetstone. 5. Now flip the whetstone over to the fine grit side and give each side of the blade 10 strokes. 6. Finish by using a sharpening steel to hone the blade, then rinse and wipe the blade dry to remove any metal particles.
Tips: 1. Simply soak your whetstone for 10-15 minutes before use, then place in the stand tray to allow excess water to drain away. 2. The first side is a coarse grade to remove any defects and restore the edge. The second fine grade adds brilliant polish and precisely hones in on the edge to give a super sharp finish. 3. Always sharpen in the same direction, whether it’s front-to-back or back-to-front. HornTide sharpener has 1000/2000/3000 grit available on the coarse side – 4000/5000/8000 grit available on the smooth side. For use on any metal and carbon steel blades. Does not suitable for use on ceramic knives.

Top Tips to Extend Your Laptop Battery Life
You seasoned techies are no doubt thinking, “Another article on how to get more life from your laptop battery. Big deal. I already know how to do that.” Well, Mr. or Ms. Techie, I scoff at your hubris. There’s still plenty to learn when it comes to getting more juice from a charge and extending your battery’s overall life.
So, yes, there are tips that most of us know:
Dim your screen.
Minimize background processes.
Don’t use the CD/DVD drive.
Disable your wireless antenna when not in use.
But there’s still a lot you may not know about battery technology and the things that both help and hinder your laptop’s juicebox.
Getting More Minutes per Charge
You can fiddle with background processes and other software settings all you want, but your hardware is the biggest factor in battery life, according to PC Mag‘s lead analyst for laptops, Cisco Cheng. In fact, software such as power-management utilities can help minimize the impact internal components have on battery longevity. Knowing this can affect your buying decision if you’re looking for a new laptop (see the “Picking a Laptop for Maximum Battery Life” section below) or help you get the most out of the trusty laptop you’ve got. Here are a few ways to optimize hardware for maximum battery output.
Turn off ports. Disabling unused ports and components, such as VGA, Ethernet, PCMCIA, USB, and yes, your wireless, too. You can do this through the Device Manager or by configuring a separate hardware profile (see next step).
Create Power-Saving Hardware Profiles. Configure your laptop for the various scenarios in which you use it (on a plane, at the coffee shop, at the office, and so on). You can do this through the Hardware Profiles menu by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Preferences or by using a freeware utility such as SparkleXP (for Windows XP users).
Configure your display to turn off when not in use. This is different from just using a screensaver, because in many cases a screensaver still requires the display’s backlight to be on. You can set the interval to turn the display off in Windows’ Power Options—found in the Control Panel.
Extending the Overall Life
The easiest way to give your battery an early death is to damage it. And the two most common causes of damage are from overheating and using an AC adapter with the wrong voltage. For that, make sure to check the voltage of your adapter, especially if using a replacement adapter. Here’s how you prevent overheating:
Use a cooling pad when using a notebook computer on your lap.
Avoid propping your laptop on a pillow, blanket, or other soft surface that can heat up or block cooling fans.
Clean your desk. It sounds strange, but if you have a dusty, dirty desk, that dust will get into the vents and clog the cooling fan. Once the dust is inside your laptop, it is much harder to remove. You can try blasting it out with canned air, but you run the risk of damaging internal components. You can also remove the vent and clean out the grit, but remember that taking apart your laptop can void the warranty. So clean your desk at least once a week, if not daily.
Try not to store your laptop in a place where the air temperature exceeds 80 degrees Fahrenheit, such as a hot car or an outdoor patio. And if your laptop heats up or is cold, let it return to room temperature before starting up.
Consider taking your battery out when using your laptop plugged into AC power. Just make sure to keep the contacts clean. If you need to clean them, use rubbing alcohol.
For lithium ion batteries, you do not need to discharge them fully and recharge constantly. Since they don’t have the same “memory” as older nickel-metal hydride batteries, it is actually better to discharge a lithium ion only partially before recharging. You need to do a full discharge only about every 30 charges.
Picking a Laptop for Maximum Battery Life
If you’re in the market for a new laptop, there are features and components you should consider to get the most mileage from the system’s battery.
An ultra-low-voltage processor, such as the Intel Penryn or one from VIA’s line of ULV processors.
A solid-state storage drive, which requires less power and, since there are no spinning parts, will suffer less wear and tear than a traditional hard drive.
An LED display. Although pricey, LEDs use much less power than LCD.
A smaller screen. A smaller screen means a smaller backlight, which will also save on battery drain.
According to Andrew Bradner, product line manager for APC, all lithium ion batteries are not created equal. The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the chemistry. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to discern if the battery you’re buying was manufactured in a top-notch facility using high-quality materials. And making that call is not as easy as assuming your laptop manufacturer’s battery will be of better quality than a battery from a third-party vendor. But you can stick to a couple of key guidelines.
Don’t skimp on your battery. If you choose the lowest-cost battery you’ll probably get a battery that degrades quickly, and you’ll end up buying a replacement too soon anyway. So spend the money now to save expense and frustration down the road.
Don’t buy an expired battery. A good indicator of a battery’s performance is how far into its product life it is, whether it’s used or new. If possible, look at the bottom of the battery and find the manufacture date.
