Bruchko, one of the best books I've ever. The first I've read in one sitting.

Refuge within an Assemblage
As people we seek refuge. Wether it be with family, friends or God. But what really is refuge? Is it a place where you feel feel safe, comfortable, a place where you know no matter who you are you can be who you are without being Judged? Refuge is home. The place where feel you belong most.
Before I started on my assemblage I wanted to create a piece of artwork that represented refuge, a place that a person always go to to feel they belong. I picked a nest because it is the best representation of refuge, off a home. It shows that regardless of how small you might be in this world, even a little bird has a place of refuge. Even a little creature like this understands the meaning of home. Every creature in this world belongs somewhere.

Assemblage Stage 5:
The only problem with having a nest as an assemblage is that its hard to put together without it all falling apart. So I decided to use a bit more glue and a very little bit of tape to hold everything together. Of course I understand that a birds nest has neither tape nor glue. But what goes through my mind when applying the tape and glue is that, regardless of who we are we always need extra help in making our place of refuge a place of refuge. Even if it may involve someone else of a different species help place together your place of refuge.
In concluding I would say that my assemblage is one that shows refuge with a home. Shared, created and treasured by many. Each one valuing the home in their own way.

Assemblage Stage 4:
After adding the hay twigs and branches to the assemblage I wanted to add one last thing to make the picture more life like. So I added some feathers. Not just one colour of feathers but rather a variety. I did this to show that this was an Old nest. One that had been used as a refuge by many birds of different colours and sizes. Each one leaving back a bit of their past, in the form of a feather.

Assemblage Stage 3:
As I was further working on my project I really wanted to bring about a life like nest. So i got some hay and started sticking it to the picture to give it a more life like appearance. In addition to that I also adde more leaves, and a couple of twigs. This was done to make it seem as if the harsh winds had broken a few twigs off and into the nest.

Assemblage Stage 2:
Now that I have finished the frame, I wanted to make the picture a bit more life like. So I got some leaves and stuck them to the picture. I did this to represent the leaves that had fallen off the branches of the frame and were now surrounding the nest. Only one or two of the leaves can be seen in this picture but I added more on in later pictures.

Assemblage Stage 1:
I wanted to make my birds nest assemblage as authentic as possible, so instead of just turning the picture in to a 3D image I decided to add a frame. But rather a frame that was made of branches. Representing how a real nest would be held up on a trees branches. So the assemblage nest is held together by its branch frame.
In this picture I decided to hold the branches together with fake hay.

Fear and loathing in Central Asia: Will US go to war with Iran?
Published: 14 January, 2012, 14:40
As sparks fly dangerously close to the powder keg of US-Iranian relations, speculation is rife and rumors are spreading like wildfire. Will there be a war? Who wants it? And what will happen to this very lucrative region?
Google the words “Iran”, “USA” and “war” and you get over 140 million hits. Many believe the possibility of a military conflict between the two is not even a question of “if”, but a question of “when”. And there is definitely enough evidence around to lend support to these beliefs...

Iran, U.S. need a crisis exit ramp
By Gary Sick, Special to CNN
updated 11:33 AM EST, Thu January 12, 2012
(CNN) -- When two important countries appear to be goading each other into a dangerous and meaningless war, it can be useful to take a deep breath, lay the rhetoric aside for a moment, and go back to basics.
