I Killed the MC: 1.04
The adventurer launches into her story:
“This all happened in Sanserit, I’m certain you’ve heard of it, it’s a very famous trading city,” She says with a wave of her hand. I hadn’t heard of it and I doubt that anyone else in town has either. “I was looking for a new sword, but the smith I usually buy from said that she hadn’t received a shipment of ore in over a month,” She gives a piercing glance around the audience who is rapt with attention.
“Of course that was strange, and as an adventurer it’s my job to investigate any strange happenings in this world,” She smiles proudly as her audience murmurs in awe, “So I offered to investigate and bring back some ore in exchange for a discount on my new sword, the smith agreed and I set out to Sanserit. It’s a long way from the Elkinstone, and I traveled for a month before reaching the city.”
A month of travel, I can’t imagine how exhausting that must be.

I Killed the MC: 1.03
Adventurers were known for being fickle and I don’t want to think about how much it will hurt my friend to fall for someone who will forget about her before they reaching the next town. I return to the kitchen and Cinda is back to cooking. She’s an older lady and probably knows this gossip will last for a few months.
Or years.
I take out the few dinners that she’s made and distribute them to hungry patrons who are all raving about the adventurer. “Do you think she’ll need her sword sharpened?” The blacksmith Annie asks Theresa, a farmer who lives close to the inn.
Theresa grins, “I’m taking care of her horse, you won’t believe what she’s paying me,” She says. I fill their drinks and they only acknowledge me with a small nod. As long as they know who to tip at the end of the night. I hope Theresa will be feeling generous after getting her big pay day.
“I suppose I can tell you one more story before I call it a night!” The adventurer boasts to the cheers of the crowd.

I Killed the MC: 1.02
She’s just like they said. Her hair is golden blonde and the firelight glints off of her armor like the sun sparkling on water. Her eyes have a fierce glint as they watch the room in an uproar over the events she’s describing. We don’t get such exciting people in a small town like this. She’s going to be the talk for months now.
I do my best to clean up through the crowd, there are empty tankards being waved at me, and plates clattering to the floor in the excitement. “Did he accept the duel?” Someone shouts.
I hear laughter as I scamper to the back, my arms full and drop the dishes off in the sink. She’s launched into the second part of her story when I return, “Of course even the goblins were appalled by their leader’s cowardice, it only took a few clever words from me to turn them on him,” She says with a smile and a flick of her hair.
The main hall erupts into cheers, but I have to say I agree with the goblin king. Why accept a duel you could lose from someone you’ve already got the advantage over?
“Did you hear that?” Penny says, “She’s not just brave, but smart too!” She looks like she’s about to faint. I nod and give Penny an encouraging smile. I hope she doesn’t get too infatuated and do something she’ll regret.

I Killed the MC: 1.01
I hear the murmurs around the kitchen before I even enter the main hall of the inn. The head cook, Cinda, and some of the waitresses are ignoring their work to gossip, “Did you see her?” She asks as a pot bubbles dangerously on the stove, “The adventurer!”
“I took her some drinks,” Penny replies her voice shaking, a broad smile splitting open her face, “She’s gorgeous, blonde hair, piercing eyes, and her armor sparkles like sunlight on water,” She sighs and sags against a wall. The others all gather around and continue peppering her with questions.
I put on my apron and get ready to pick up some slack. Adventurers are fine and all, but they don’t change the fact that our thirsty regulars are out there waiting on drinks. I don’t mind letting others have their fun, I’ll gladly take Penny’s share of tips for the night.
The main hall is filled to the brim with patrons all crowded around a table near the fire. They’re listening to a woman speaking animatedly, “So there I was surrounded by hundreds of goblins, there were so many it would have been difficult even for someone as strong as me,” She sighs dramatically, “But I’m no fool, I knew better than to try and deal with all of them, so I challenged their king to a one on one duel,” The crowd ‘oohed’ and ‘awed’ at her performance.
This must be the adventurer.
