Nvidia rumored 3080ti
Tumblr media
Nvidia has heard all about the AMD hype and they intend on striking back. Nvidia is rumored to be releasing a new GPU to weather the AMD storm that is about to hit land. According to the new report from HKEPC, NVIDIA will launch its new high-end GPU in January. The next SKU in the GeForce RTX 30 pipeline is the RTX 3080 Ti, according to the article. This new card will be equipped with GA102-250-KD-A1 GPU. The website reports on the 10496 CUDA core count ( this is an estimation). The graphics card would also feature 20GB of GDDR6X memory (this is not 100% confirmed yet) across a 320-bit interface. If these speculations prove to be correct this is going to be an amazing GPU. However, as we know the current inventory for these cards has been decimated. It will be interesting to see how Nvidia plans to combat this. The reason this release would be crazy is because if this card stands true it will sit between a 3080 and a 3090. The 3090 is the 1500-dollar MSRP card which delivers amazing 4k performance but an incredibly high price. The 3080 on the other hand is a great card for what it is but only has 10gb of GDDR6x. So while it may be able to play games at 4k that 10gb of VRAM limitation is going to be an incredible disadvantage when it comes to high details etc. I believe AMD will hold the throne for a little bit and then when Nvidia releases this new 3080ti SKU they will reclaim majority market share of these new GPU SKU’s.  The rumored MSRP for this card is supposed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 1000 USD. Sure it might be a little more expensive than what consumers are customarily used to paying but I believe this is due to the global pandemic and manufacturing issues around the globe. When things end up settling down I believe the prices of these cards will return to normal and we should see a couple of hundred dollar decrease in prices for all these cards across the board.

AMD steps into the game
Tumblr media
The AMD RX 6000 is set to release tomorrow November 18th and 9:00 am. Why this is important you might ask? Well.. they are Nvidia's only competitor and they are claiming some big things. Scott Herkelman ( AMD GM ) says, “This announcement is the culmination of years of R&D focused on bringing the best of AMD Radeon graphics to the enthusiast and ultra-enthusiast gaming markets and represents a major evolution in PC gaming”. They plan on offering powerhouse performance through new technologies such as: AMD infinity Cache - A high performance last-level data cache suitable for up to 4k gaming & AMD smart access memory8 -  An exclusive feature of systems with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series processors, AMD B550 and X570 motherboards and Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards. It gives AMD Ryzen processors greater access to the high-speed GDDR6 graphics memory, accelerating CPU processing and providing up to a 13-percent performance increase on an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT. There are two GPU’s that will be releasing on the 18th those are the 6800 and the 6800XT and on the 2nd of December the 6900XT will release. As you can imagine each of these cards has a direct competitor on the Nvidia side of things. Those cards are the ones I have previously spoken about in my other posts. The 3070 / 3080 / 3090 are going to have some tough upcoming competition and its going to be a close one to say the least. AMD is claiming to not only match all  these cards with their perspective competition but to also in some cases out preform them. All this while being cheaper and more efficient at that. Its no question that AMD has taken the throne away from Intel on the CPU side of the of the hardware world, but will they also be able to take it on the GPU side of things? Some preliminary benchmarks ( leaks ) show that AMD’s RX 6000 series does not always come out ahead on frames-per-second. However, this is predicated depending on the title of the game. In some scenarios they do come out ahead and keep in mind they are doing this while being more efficient. So that “FPS per dollar” metric many critics are using is becoming more and more prevalent. It will be exciting to see some of the benchmarks later today as the embargo should be lifted before the launch actually occurs. I personally believe Nvidia will remain on top but not by enough to warrant the premium price you pay for their product.

Asus PG259QN – 360hz!!
Tumblr media
Finally we have surpassed the 240 hz marker and jumped a whopping 120 hz. Not only is this going to be best gaming monitor available it also is going to have amazing features. Some of the main features of this monitor include a rapid fast response times  ( 1 ms GTG ) incredibly rapid response times ,low input lag, and Nvidia G-SYNC with ULMB at 240hz. It is important to note that this monitor is not for the casual gamer. This monitor is targeted at gamers who play twitch shooters and are looking for the least amount of input latency. Realistically this is for competitive gamers who play in weekly or monthly tournaments . The reason this is not targeted for the casual gamer is due to its rather low resolution at 1920x1080 and extremely high price tag. Yes you heard me correctly, extremely high price tag. This monitor is going to be retailing at seven hundred dollars. Another interesting part of this monitor is the fact that it is going to be an IPS based panel. This means the monitor is going to have amazing viewing angles . Overall, this is the hands down best gaming monitor all things considered . Thanks to its unmatched 360hz refresh rate and insanely fast response times this is without a doubt the pinnacle of gaming monitors. Another cool feature this monitor offers is Nvidia’s new reflex technology. This technology has been optimized from Nvidia in order to measure the input latency from your system and mouse. Monitors that have this enabled are going to have a usb pass through which will allow for the technology to monitor click latency. It will also measure overall input latency and display it for you in real time. This is amazing because  it will allow users to change settings and hardware in order to achieve the lowest possible input latency settings for their systems. With Nvidia’s most recent driver’s latency pass through and GPU “work” pass through has effectively been cut in half. It seems as though Nvidia is directly targeting hardcore gamers now and teaming up with ASUS to do so. With this new data player are going to be able to cut latency times even while decreasing overall system latency. I am excited to get my hands on this technology in order to see what I can do. There will be two versions of this monitor releasing the 259QN and the 259QNR. The “R” variant is the ones with the reflex technology which is set to release in November 2020 and the QN regular variant was released in September.

The 3070... delayed but not out!
With all the hype surrounding the 3080 and 3090 and the shortage of stock Nvidia decided to delay the release of the 3070. Though they have not explicitly stated why they have delayed the release the following speculations have been made. The first being that Nvidia is doing this to put the nail in the coffin in regard to big NAVI. If you did not know AMD’s new GPU line up is set to be released around the same time. This means they are trying to cut the market short and capture as many customers as possible before AMD makes its announcement.  In theory this is genius, the more people they can get to buy this product before the announcement the more market-share they own. Additionally, there are speculations that the drop was delayed in order to make sure they have more inventory on hand and at the store releases. This card is dropping at the five-hundred-dollar price point and with that being said it is a direct competitor to console. For those who are technologically advanced the consoles come no where near this in terms of performance. You will quite literally be getting unmatched performance at this price point. For example, the previous generations 2080ti MSRP’d at twelve hundred dollars and was the top of the line card for its time period. However, this 3070 offers two times the performance of a 2080ti when using RTX and all of this is for less than half the total price of the 2080ti. You  will be getting top of the line fps and overall performance for almost 1/3 of the price of a 2080ti. With all of this being said I think it is safe to assume the lines for this card are going to be unmatched . The 3080 and 3090 had lines that started at 7pm the previous day and 11 am respectively. This card is going to have people waiting days in advance. Regardless of the inventory I am sure stock will be extremely limited and emptied the same day. I am excited to see performance and benchmarks when they are released for this card as it has some of the most anticipated hype surrounding it. If it lives up to the hype this card will be the most popular card ever created without a doubt. The only thing that could possibly stand in its way is AMD’s BIG NAVI line up which is said to release around the same time.

Scalpers  have destroyed the market.
When the three thousand series cards first were announced, and companies did not allow pre orders everyone knew trying to get one was going to be hell. People knew bots were going to be an issue and instead took to the streets to try and camp out for one of these cards. However, as I have mentioned in my previous  posts these cards were only manufactured in limited quantities. For example, for the 3080 there was well over 50 people lined up at the local microcenter here in Marietta and only 12 cards in total were delivered. The 3090 was even crazier with almost one hundred people lined up and a depressing seven total cards being delivered on launch day. Mind you there are only 25 Microcenters in the nation. The majority of stock was sold online and purchased by “scalpers”. A scalper is someone who knows the demand for a product is going to be enormous and the stock is going to be extremely limited. So their game plan is to get their hands on one by whatever means and re-sell the product for an extreme premium. The 3080 at MSRP from Nvidia as the founder’s edition retails for six hundred and ninety-nine dollars. If you go on eBay right now and check the average going price for it is somewhere in the neighborhood of fifteen hundred to two thousand dollars. Some of these selling for as much as five thousand dollars when they first released. The 3090 followed the same trend, the cards MSRP is approximately one thousand six hundred dollars and sells on eBay for an average of three thousand dollars. With a high of ten thousand dollars, this is unreal. Recently, MSI one of the main AIB producers for the card was caught scalping their own product. So you can see how out of hand this has gotten and how incredibly difficult it has become for the average consumer to get their hands on one. With all of this going on Nvidia and the 3rd party AIB’s have tried their best to stop bots from getting their hands on these products by adding new CAPTCHA to their checkout processes. They have even gone as far as hand reviewing all their online orders in an attempt to make sure only real people are getting whatever is left of their stock. As good as that sounds on paper it has unfortunately not been enough to counter scalpers. It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the long run.

“BFGPU” – alright at best … Sorta
While we originally thought the 3090 was going to dominate the market in terms of overall performance, it has actually failed to meet expectations. Nvidia’s CEO had been boasting about gains of over two times the performance compared to the 3080. However, the card at best performs a little over ten percent faster than the 3080. So for reference you are paying almost double the price of a 3080 for only ten percent performance gains and you can see why that might hard to get by. We are able to validate our claims using program such as 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme, Port Royal, and other benchmarking platforms. However, where this card does shine is in the professional application processes. When it comes to algorithms, 3D-rendering, scalability, hashing and overall  pure processing power this card dominates in every aspect. From preliminary testing it seems this chipset is offering sixty percent boosts over last year’s TITAN. That is incredible considering the previous Titan’s MSRP was a whopping two thousand five hundred dollars. The 3090 is fifteen hundred and completely demolishing the 2080ti’s records. NVIDIA has shared a chart that shows the GeForce RTX 3090 ending up almost close to 2x faster than the Titan RTX in professional applications such as Luxmark, Blender, and Red Shift. Mainly this is due to more CUDA cores and the whopping 24gb of GDDR6X this is a combination for success in the professional world.  The new GDDR6x array design is capable of delivering speeds of 19.5gbps this coupled with the 384-bit bus means the total combined bandwidth of this card is 936gbps. As you can imagine this card was extremely sought after for being the top end spec, and boy was it. People waited outside days in advance to try and be the first adopters of this card. I personally ended up waiting a total of 26 hours outside of microcenter trying to get my hands on one but was not successful. Being the full dye of the GA 102 Chipset this card is not as easy to manufacture especially not on the new Samsung 8nm architecture. With that being said stock sold out immediately and any excess  as well. With bots buying everything online and people camping outside of stores waiting for shipments at microcenter daily there is no telling when they will be readily available. Most reports are saying they will not be in stock until 2021 sometime into February and March.

The BFGPU is coming!
Tumblr media
Nvidia’s new “Titan” is set to release on the 24th of September and this card is supposed to boast some of the most unreal specs of its generation. The new GPU has 10496 CUDA cores 24GB of GDDR6X and a base clock of 1.7GHz. To make it as simple as possible for you guys, this card is unparalleled in literally everyway. This enthusiast driven card is supposed to be able to drive games at resolutions of up to 8k. This is all possible due to the new architecture Nvidia has been able to come up with using Samsung’s custom 8nm dye process. With specs of this magnitude you can only imagine how intense the hype would be. According to multiple sources and many subreddits people have been seen waiting out for these cards since Monday the 21st. Purely of the specs and without any benchmarks the hype for this card is clearly evident. The reason there haven’t been any benchmarks released yet is simply because the NDA has not yet been lifted. Nvidia’s CEO stated on the 1st that if the last twenty years of advancements were amazing then then the next twenty will seem nothing short of since fiction. So far all that he has said has proven to be true and even more. The 3080 already broke records across the board so people already know the 3090 is going to do nothing short of that. Another amazing feature of this card is the RTX I/O which offers gpu leveraging to handle data decompression from storage. This means load times for things that previously took minutes is now going to take seconds. We are literally putting Moores law to the test and showing how advancements in technology are shutting that theory down. With all this being said it’s safe to say the following. The 3080 and 3090 are going to be pioneers moving into the future. The 3090 is going to be able to single handedly run games at 8k using the new deep learning super sampling technology. Finally, AMD has a lot to deal with right now. Being Nvidia’s only major competitor and with RDNA2 and big NAVI on the come-up October is sure to be an interesting month. Some speculate AMD has already began stressing about Nvidia’s new technology and that’s why they pushed the release of their new processors back. Whatever the case may be the world of PC gaming and data processing just got a whole lot more powerful.

The 3080 is here!
Tumblr media
With the 3080 dropping , there has never been a better time to get into PC gaming . Last week on the 17th , Nvidia released their new flagship Graphics processing unit.  This means new triple A titles will finally be able to be played at their full potential. The world of PC gaming is finally starting to become more and more plausible for consumers. The majority might argue that this is not big news with the release of the new consoles coming soon.  However, it is important to understand that, while these new consoles might be able to run games at their 4k native resolutions, they will not be able to consistently deliver across the board. Frame times and frames per second on these systems will not be able to compete with Nvidia and the processing power the new three thousand series bring. Finally, we will be able to play games at higher resolutions with virtually two times the uplift in overall performance. This is due to more than just the raw processing power of the three thousand series chipset. We can thank Nvidia’s new DLSS 2.0 features for that. DLSS, or deep learning super sampling, takes use of new artificial intelligence and uses its power to revolutionize the way games are rendered. From in-game physics and animations, to real-time rendering and ray tracing. This technology lowers the overall throughput of your system while still delivering  crisp and beautiful images. By lowering the system processed resolutions and using anti-aliasing within the games engine, we can see huge performance leaps in every title that supports DLSS. With all of this being said, the new processing unit was so popular that they completely sold out of stock online and in store on opening day. Nvidia themselves sold out of stock on their website within the first one minute. With this being said, there is both good and bad news to be said. Let us start with the bad, the RTX 3080 is out of stock literally every and anywhere both online and instore . There is hope though, as most major retailers have promised to improve the situation’s current standing. Companies such as EVGA , ASUS, MSI, ZOTAC and many more are telling customers not to worry, as stock will be flowing through shortly. So, if you did not manage to get your hands on a 3080 on opening day, don’t worry, your chance of getting one will increase with every passing week.

The 3000 series cards are coming! Hello all, Welcome to my blog, “Next Gen Hardware”. In this blog I am going to be covering new hardware entering the tech market. I will post product reviews, advice and first looks at new technology. For the upcoming weeks I am going to be covering Nvidia’s new GPU’s as they are releasing later this month. This is huge news in the tech/gaming world. If for some reason you haven’t heard about these, allow me to introduce you to the world of GPUs.                The 3000 series cards are promising some of the largest leaps in performance ever at 1080, 1440 and 4K resolutions. These new behemoths are boasting two times performance gains in some of the biggest titles in the gaming industry. Not to mention their top end spec is promising to run 8k at a whopping 60fps. For reference, two years ago, when Nvidia released their Turing architecture cards, they only showed gains of 20% in most titles. So, as you can imagine two times the performance is huge. Additionally, the 2000 series cards rode one of the highest pricing regiments ever released by Nvidia. They were charging upwards of 2500 dollars for their top of the line GPU. Their new lineup brings forth price cuts of over half of the previous gens with over two times the performance.                  Expect the lines at Best Buy, Microcenter and any other major tech retailers to be huge this year. These stores will be distributing GPU’s on a first come, first serve basis, so I encourage anyone in the market for one to arrive a few hours prior to opening. These new cards are set to release on the 17th and 24th later this month. Along with these GPUs, Nvidia is promising amazing new driver abilities and a brand new 360 hertz gaming monitor! Some of the new abilities they are introducing are input lag reductions of over 50%. They say this is possible due to their new Ampere architectures. That is huge for gamers and the world of ESL (electronic sports leagues). With each advancement in the technology industry, gamers are getting closer and closer to a 0ms latency! Furthermore, the new 360hz monitor Nvidia is hyping is supposed to be the fastest responding IPS panel on the market, and its supposed to literally show you your systems input latency using their new LDAT technology they have designed. Surely the month of September is shaping up to be a huge success especially in the world of gaming and hardware.
