Yes he's a prick and has killed and ruined the lives of a lot of people but there's still a part of him that urges him to do good things.

Shuake is consensual but it's the farthest thing from safe or sane they'd fight each other until the reaper appears on multiple floors as a date they'd fight to hurt just as much as they'd try to incapacitate the other biting elbows kneeing each other headbutts any part of their body they'd use to try and do some damage regardless of how effective it would be they'd both push through a broken leg to keep the fight going

Choosing maruki's reality and saying it's the better choice spits on the characters that are rejecting it and most atlus games I'm not gonna list all of them but in persona 3 accepting ryoji's deal to kill him wipes away who the characters were and kills them before their physical bodies die, persona 4's story is all about accepting the truth and not letting lies cloud your judgement and accepting those lies would make you stray away from who you are, in persona 5 the same game that maruki is in yaldabaoth is actively taking away control from people and the game quite literally tells you maruki is doing the same thing when you talk to lavenza in the nurses office and akechi, sumire and the rest of the phantom thieves are all actively saying they don't want maruki's reality but he forces it on them anyways and kills who they were and replaces them with a puppet wearing their skin, three consecutive games about not accepting false truths and people are still saying this shit maruki is literally yaldabaoth with a fresh coat of paint and a holier than thou attitude, akechi was actively fighting maruki knowing he would die when reality goes back to normal if that's not telling you hey maybe accepting his reality isn't a good idea then I don't know what to say.

Looking for shuake fics and filtering for angst is kinda redundant angst is just a part of it and pretty hard to avoid without massively changing either character, same for shusumi that's just a part of it because of maruki's bullshit especially once the writer gets to post okumura palace after the interrogation and the third semester, honestly atlus really dropped the ball hard with sumire's character they never had top tier writing but sumire had good setup and the twist was nice they just failed the rest of the performance especially the ending where she just looks like kasumi again. Also fuck maruki he did the same shit every other major target minus futaba did enforcing his will on others and trapping them in a reality they can't escape and tried trapping them again when they're actively rejecting it he didn't even do a decent job at a utopia either he made a homeless person happy with being homeless instead of giving him a house and still getting mementos requests during the third semester who knows how much flew under his radar he also had women throwing themselves at harassers despite the women not wanting anything to do with them beforehand I can't put into words how fucked that is

I think the biggest reason why I like sekiro more than elden ring is I can always tell what I did wrong in sekiro but most of the times in elden ring it's a what the hell happened instead of ah I fucked up and there's always a clear way to get better instead of throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks and I can double down and get more stubborn in sekiro and make progress but in elden ring if I try that if I have the wrong build it'd be like hitting a brick wall with a pillow also elden rings input delay has fucked me over hundreds of times

I'm obsessed with the idea of the phantom thieves also being graffiti artists and having calling cards spray painted on somewhere important to the target followed by a bunch of the smaller paper ones or in shido's case the tv hijacking

I've been thinking about it and find it hard to believe futaba's mom was a good person a good parent is debatable but if you willingly get involved with shido multiple times you're going to be doing and overlooking some super shady stuff especially if you're researching the supernatural and you have a prime test subject who you can do whatever you want to

The raidou vs the soulless army remake looks hot I know it's called a remaster but it looks more like it got completely built from the ground up and far more appealing compared to the old ones the old ones aren't bad and I enjoyed them when I played them when I was younger but the new one just looks so much better and the combat looks so much more engaging I just hope the game isn't mind numbingly easy

Honestly the few things I want gone or toned down at the very least in the persona 4 remake is the homophobic nonsense seriously why the fuck would yosuke ask if they'd be safe sleeping near kanji during the camping trip when he's been nothing but respectful and is now going to be helping solve a murder mystery. the perverted stuff like the two hot springs, yosuke having bikinis ready for no reason, the bikini pageant that students could sign up for, and most of the times teddie opens his mouth should make him like his jp version somebody who doesn't understand what he's saying instead or just make it so he's socially dense like not understanding why hugs are intimate or only done between family and aren't something done by friends.
