A Titan is Forged- Part II
When I got a little older I started to go on missions and take bounties. Weapon calibration was what most of them entailed, with some enemy data collection here and there. My mom would go with me and keep me safe whenever the job required off world experience. She hadn't been a Guardian for a sixth of the time dad was but she had been taught well. Knowing my parents, they probably used missions as an excuse to go out together and-
...okay ew. I just pieced that together.
Anyways, by the time I was old enough for combat my mom was an excellent guide. She would take me all over the place, she showed me Old Chigago, a once bustling city in the Golden Age that had been reduced to ruin as the surrounding plant life encroached. Old Russia, where the Cosmodrome housed the Fallen and Hive after one of their ships crashed into a building. Technically the place wasn't sanctioned by the Vanguard, so I couldn't get bounties done there, but it was great for taking a break and adventuring.
But my favorite place was Mercury, oddly enough. The planet closest to the sun doesn't offer much, mostly just craggy stone but the Vex had transformed it, spires erupted from the surface and close to the Lighthouse where a disciple of Osiris made their home. Mom and dad had told me about Osiris, he was the reason for my accelerated growth. My parents had ventured into the past to bring a Titan named Saint IX back, they did, but in the process the Sundial had affected mom's pregnancy. By the time they got to the hospital mom was about to burst. That must've been a fun conversation.
Not that I necessarily blame the guy I mean if my Bee had something happen to her and I was able to bring her back I would do the same.
Present Mercury wasn't much, but it had one thing that opened the way to endless possibilities. A triangular Vex portal was all you needed to venture into the Infinite Forest. A Vex simulation that, if you could navigate it, could take you to the dark Vex simulated future or the golden fields of past Mercury. The planet was terraformed by the Traveller in the Golden Age and it was the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen by then. I fell in love with the place.
~
One day I had snuck into a ship and took myself there. No guidance, just me and my Ghost. Who I hadn't found a name for just yet. Obviously they had never resurrected me, instead I connected with a young female Ghost that was part of the group that Micah-10 oversaw. When I was old enough my mom took me to visit and see if any of the Ghosts favored me since I did not have my own like her and Citra or Chase. I was a bit of a rare case, but after a little while one of the Ghosts floated forward and agreed to be mine. That was when I officially became a Guardian.
Jeez I really need to stop rambling. I get that from my dad. Back to Mercury or I'll never get to the end.
I transmatted myself onto the surface and jumped on through to the Forest. I was able to navigate my way through by then, I just had to not make any mistakes else I wanted to end up trapped in a Vex construct. I made my way to the golden fields and laid down looking up at the blue sky. I thought about taking Bee here for a picnic, but I would have to get her to agree to jump in the portal first. Eventually we did, it was very nice.
I was enjoying my peaceful break until I heard the familiar sound of shifting bronze. Party over. I picked up my handcannon and got up from my place on the ground. Aiming my weapon at a Goblin's Vex core I was about to pull the trigger when it exploded. Utterly confused I dropped my weapon, luckily the same thing happened to the rest of the invading force as they exploded in blasts of Solar fire. When they were gone the only things that remained were the frames, the splashes of radiolaria and a small orange hanmer. I looked up and followed the trajectory of where the hammer may have come from. A Titan clad in gunmetal grey armor stood on a Vex pillar and waved to me.
"Sorry bout the noise, just didn't want those pesky Vex to interrupt your peace."

Fireteam Misfits Lore Book 3- No Time
Drake flew the ship down past the clouds of Venus and landed near the Ishtar Sink. He readied his pulse rifle given by Elsie, an anchor to the current timeline that would hopefully keep him and his fireteam safe.
The Future War Cult was...well it was in the name. It was a cult, but the actions taken by it's founder one Lakshmi-2 were aggressive at best. At worst they were acts of terrorism.
A week ago there were reports of a peaceful settlement of Eliksni refugees being attacked. They destroyed a multitude of items, most notably their Ether supply which kept them and their young alive.
Word around the Tower was that a lone Hunter stepped in, drawing a weapon on the terrorists. Drake would've done the same. Whoever the Hunter was, they were more honorable and ready to go to the lengths needed to keep peace. A trait that Hunters nowadays seemed to be lacking.
Drake had assembled a Fireteam to find the timeline where Lakshmi succeeded and keep it from happening. This was no small feat however, the planet alone was off limits by Vanguard order and the last time a Fireteam went in, they had to fight their way out.
And that was after Praydeth's.
There was no time to turn back now though. There was no time at all. The door had opened, and Drake was stepping through into the Vault of Glass.
------------------------------------------------------
Good luck to everyone who is raiding today! Technically the raid coming back is not canon but I have never attempted VoG being a long time D2 Veteran but not D1, so I wanted to work it in since I will be running it with a Fireteam of my own. With that being said I have to go perfect my loadout, see ya!

Expunged Epilogue
Chao was still frozen solid when the multitudes of ships arrived on the icy moon. Stasis. That is what Elsie said Clovis had named it, a power given by the Darkness and manifested through a subzero crystal. Drake pointed out that it was similar to if a gas skipped the liquid stage and became a solid in an instant. Elsie agreed with his thinking but said it was more than that. And Ken liked the name Stasis because it sounded like "Stay, Sis."
The group of Guardians filed into the laboratory. They all sat down in the chairs that Elsie and Ken were able to find around the lab. Chao was already hooked up to the computer, his helm was removed so they could get one last look at the Exo they once knew. His maroon stripes going down his face, his antenna on either side where his ears would be. Once everyone had sat down Ken went up to the platform in the center of the room.
"Hunters. Warlocks. Titans. Today we say goodbye to a friend. Through some...unknown and unfortunate incident, Chao-5 was stolen from us, he was reset against his will and given the powers of this...Crux behind me." He gestured to the geometric elephant in the room, he could tell Rex was nervous.
"But make no mistake." He continued. "Chao was not corrupted by the Crux. He wielded its powers yes, but that does not mean that they were the catalyst to his rage. Elsie? If you would."
Elsie opened her palm and from it the air froze solid, she made a small crystal of Darkness. The room was dead silent. Then she turned it back to nothingness.
"What you just saw was Stasis. Discovered by the one who built this place, Clovis Bray. This is his daughter Elsie, though I use that term very loosely as he was never a good dad and she's from another timeline." Sounds of utter confusion filled the room and the Guardians began trying to reason how this was possible. "Uh... can- can we have- Shit."
Drake took Ken's place and whisted before speaking. Quiet returned.
"You may ask Elsie all the questions you want about her past in time. But what I want you all to know is that she showed me this tool as well and it saved Kenneth's life." Ken did a wave with two fingers to the crowd.
"It's true. Chase would've been crushed in Chao's palm if not for Drake freezing him in time." Rex stood up.
"And didn't Chao use Stasis to almost crush them?" Ken sighed. Luna was his beet friend but her husband got on his nerves. Luckily Luna stepped in.
"Rex did you not just listen to what he said? Stasis didn't cause him to do this, something or someone reset him. He had no clue what was happening because Chao was already- oh Traveller..." Luna started to tear up and Rex sat down to console her.
"We will figure out what happened that day." Drake insisted. "But today is for celebrating his life and saying hello to his new one." Ken nodded.
"So...who would like to start?"
~
Each one of them said their piece and recounted events of Chao's life, it was a bittersweet ceremony. Eventually the process of the reset begun, Elsie took the stories that each Guardian told and put them into his memory. She hoped that with enough time that he would return to part of his former self but she had no idea. She kept that to herself.
Right as she was finishing up the facility alerted the Guardians that there was someone else at the door. Ken had never seen her before and neither had Drake. Still they told Elsie to let her in. The door turned green and slid open and a cloaked woman walked into the room.
"Hello." Ken greeted her. "I assume you're here for the procession?"
The cloaked woman took off her hood. She was an Awoken, blue hair and even bluer eyes. Her hair was swept to the side and tied up in a ponytail in the back.
"W-Where is he?" She asked trying to hold back tears.
"He's um...over there-" Ken gestured over to the frozen Exo and the woman sped past him and over to Chao, she didn't make it to him though before falling to her knees on the ground and sobbing uncontrollably into her hands. Ken walked over to her and put a hand on this mystery girl's shoulder while Drake handed her a box of tissues. Ken felt her arm now and realized that it was metal.
Once she had stopped crying enough to speak she apologized.
"I'm- I'm sorry for barging in I- I had a Vanguard mission and then I heard the news and I-" She started to cry again.
"Woah woah there, slow down. Hey it's alright, we were just wondering who you were is all." The woman nodded and wiped her eyes.
"My- My name is Allie." She answered.
"Well it's nice to meet you Allie. I'm Kenneth. This is Drake, Luna, Rex, Torra, Hailey, Aleina and...this is everyone else." He said giving up on trying to introduce that many people that fast. "So uh...how did you know Chao?" Allie looked up at Ken then fixed her gaze on the frozen Titan.
"I was his lover." Ken looked down at her shocked. Chao had never mentioned having a lover, he had always said that he had no time for one, or that no one would be able to keep up with his scattered synthetic brain or some other excuse. Yet here she was crying for him and it was probably the hardest for her to bear out of everyone there.
~
Chao passed through the tower and stepped onto the bridge. The wind howled around him, it must have been fifty degrees below. The cold didn't bother him anymore though.
The bridge creaked with every step and blew side to side with the storm. He made it over and to the other side, the fires that once lit the area up were now extinguished. They had not been lit for some time now but this weather would've kept them from burning anyways. He climbed the steps up to the doors of the Iron Temple and tried to open them but they would not budge. Stubborn as the man who once lived here. Chao took a breath in, turned his fist to one of ice and punched open the sealed doors of the temple off their hinges.
"Oops." He said surprised by his own strength and shrugged. Oh well. Not like he couldn't replace them.
He stepped over the engraved doors as the snow began to blow into the temple dusting the statues of the former Iron Lords with the white powder. Saladin may not have been here in a long while but the flame was still burning hotter than ever, even against the icy wind. Chao looked around the temple, at the legends of old, the engravings, the bells that rang Skorri's Iron Song, then stared into it's flame. The Iron Lords were gone, but that did not mean their legacy couldn't continue. Saladin was stuck in his old ways, it held that legacy back. All they needed was a new direction.
Chao extended his palm out to the flame and froze it solid. He heard light footsteps and the sound of a weapon being readied behind him. A female voice spoke.
"Just what do you think you're doing?"
--------------------------------------------
Chao-6 is gone. But so is Chao-5... This has been a long time coming, I've wanted to do more with him but his foundation has always just been "Jock Crucible Titan." As sad as it is to lose him, his character is going to be much more in depth now that he has a better structure. You'll be seeing more of him... and his girlfriend Allie. Who is not mine, credit for her goes to @sibylance. She agreed to their relationship (She's also an amazingly talented artist so definitely check her out like... everywhere) As for Rex, Luna and the female mystery voice at the end, they all belong to the magnificent @scout-fang which if you haven't seen her from looking at my stuff well...what are you waiting for??

Expunged Part III
Kenneth dodged out of the way of a blast of ice and Drifter fan fired his handcannon at Chao. Eris watched and analyzed the Titan's rash and chaotic movements at his targets. First he would build walls of this crystallized ice, then he would smash through it sending shards at Drifter and Ken. Sure it acted and looked like normal ice but from the wound in Ken's leg it was clear that whatever it was it manifested much more like a gemstone.
"Hey Moondust! Are you gonna help here or what? Ain't gettin any younger here!" Drifter called to her as he jumped out of the way of another attack.
"Better to study Germaine. His movements are erratic yes, but they are calculated. We don't know the power we're up against, I am trying to find a pattern." Drifter sighed and Kenneth lit up his Hunter knife with Solar Light. It whizzed over Chao's head as he slid underneath it. Eris noticed the flame was snuffed out just by the Titan being in the vicinity of it.
Chao put up another wall of crystallized ice and used it to get up in the air, his fist became encased in the energy and he slammed down onto Ken. The blast knocked him backwards and he rolled over multiple times before coming to a halt in the white. Drifter ran over to try to protect him but Chao put up another wall blocking him and ran over to Ken. His mask was nearly shattered and the Solar Light that was weaved into his cloak returned to a dim glow. Ken opened his eyes and tried to get up and crawl away but something stopped him. He looked down at his feet. They were frozen solid.
~
Elsie took Drake over and past the ridge to the left. The pyramid loomed in the distance on the blue horizon as she lead him to the remains of an old facility. On the way Drake started to see Vex structures erupting from the ice, he would stay and study them after this mess was through. Elsie jumped off her sparrow and took out her weapon.
"Come with me, stay close." She ordered and Drake obeyed taking out his sidearm. She lead him into a cave and to a ripped open wall of metal. They descended down what was left of the staircase and Drake saw a symbol on the wall that he recognized well.
"Clovis Bray...the Deepstone Crypt?" He asked and Elsie shook her head.
"No not the Crypt. This is the main laboratory." She kept her weapon up as she was scanned. Drake couldn't believe this place was still operational after all these years. The scanner turned green and the door opened, a blinding light shone through the cavern, Drake figured this was by design. Clovis was nothing if not an ostentatious man. The laboratory was alive and running, the lights blinked on and off and the empty desks had screens showing various projects. But that was nothing compared to what he saw in the center of the room.
"The Crux." Elsie said finally. "It is what powers your lost friend's rampage. I found him hooked up to wires here, his armor was thrown aside and he was given a new set. The old chestpiece is there."
Drake looked over to the side, sure enough it was Chao's old set. He had seen him with it that Solstice, it was cracked near the upper chest, there was a bullet in it from his own pulse rifle. "But how..."
"Your friend was reset from these records... I know them by heart. I'm sorry but Chao-5 is gone." She said mournfully.
"Di-Did you see anything else?" Drake asked trying to stomach what he had just heard. "Did you see who- what did this?" Elsie shook her head.
"I'm sorry. I have no idea, but I can tell you this. Your friend was not corrupted by this Crux. He was reprogrammed. All this is..." She pointed to the looming geometric shape. "Is a tool."
"The Darkness can corrupt, I've seen it myself. It's not to be used lightly." Drake protested. Elsie nodded in agreement.
"I'm not saying that it can't. I'm only suggesting that if you want to help your friend, get him back to normal..." She made a fist and the air became cool around it, then that familiar crystallized ice started to form around it. "Use what you have at your disposal."
Drake looked at her fist then watched as she drew in the power and the ice dissipated. She was able to control it. If she was...maybe he could after all. He thought about it for a while. This was possibly the biggest decision he would make in his entire life. He had seen what the Darkness could do to people. To good people.
But he also remembered that day in the Pyramid.
"Your Light has taken you far Drake, but it can take you no further."
~
Ken tried to use his Solar Light to melt the ice but it refused to. It did not behave like the frozen water that this moon was made up of. Chao broke the ice and sent shards at Ken, Ken threw up his cloak and tried to block them but it only did so much. The ice was gone though and Ken took the opportunity to try and dodge away. Using the last of his strength he leapt to the side and around the wall of ice. Using his gear as camouflage he jumped into a snowdrift and hid getting Chase out to heal his wounds.
"Chase bud...agh- need a little help here bud..." The Ghost appeared and took a look at his Guardian.
"WHAT IN THE- What happened to you?!"
"Shh!" Ken shushed the Ghost. "Voice down. He can hear us." Chase had already began attempting to heal him.
"Who is He?" He asked and suddenly a blast of energy came over him. The snow blew away, leaving Ken and Chase out in the open. Chao charged at Ken and threw a punch knocking him down before grabbing Chase from the air. Ken watched as his snow white cat shell froze in the Titan's palm.
Chao closed his fist and the three of them watched in horror until they heard the familiar hum of a sparrow. Chao turned to see a Warlock jump off of their vehicle and summon a staff of the same crystallized ice that the Ghost was encased in. He pointed it at the Titan and two blue bolts fired from it freezing the Titan where he stood.
Drake landed on the snow and took the Ghost from Chao's hand. He shattered the crystal around it carefully and soon Chase was free. He rushed over to Ken and began healing him as Drake kept the Titan encased. Elsie ran over and helped Ken up.
"Are you alright?" She asked him.
"Apart from almost having my Ghost shattered and myself possibly bled out from ice crystals..." He answered her sarcastically. "What was that?"
"I'll explain later. Right now we need to keep him on ice until we can get to the lab. Drake! Can you get him there?" Drake had used some cords to tie him to the back of Elsie's sparrow. It held the weight better than his.
"He's heavy but I think so." He started up the sparrow and sped off to the Braytech Lab.
"Where...where is he going? What lab?" Ken asked already knowing the answer.
"There's nothing we can do Kenneth I'm sorry. Chao-5 was gone the moment he started the rampage here. But we can take him back, we can reset him again and I will implant some memories. He won't be the same person...but he may be able to remember you and Drake."
Kenneth looked down at the fresh fallen snow and saw a puddle.

Expunged Part II
Drifter hefted his coat up over his shoulders as he fired up his ship from The Derelict where he transmatted Guardians in for his Gambit. It was tattered and scratched from the last time he wore it. On that cold, desolate hellhole planet with the shadows that snuffed out his crew's light. As for the rest of them well... only one came back to tell the tale. He activated the communications. "How you doin down there Moondust?"
"I've told you numerous times to refrain from using that nickname of yours Germaine." She said back through the crackled radio. The icy moon had a blisteringly cold atmosphere and an almost perpetual cycle of snowstorms.
"Any idea where this friend of ours might be hidin?" He asked and the ship jettisoned from its hangar toward Europa.
"We don't even know who sent the signal let alone what it is. They simply said that they mean to show us something." Eris says stumbling over a pile of snow laden with orange streaks encased in the ice.
"Okay well meet me in this clearing. Storm's too heavy where you are for me to land." He clicked on autopilot and sat back in his chair maneuvering his jade coin around in his hand then setting it ablaze. The ship sat down eventually and Eris walked up to it having crossed the field of ice and snow. She removed her shawl from around her mouth and watched as Drifter got out and stepped onto the moon. He was not two steps on that they heard a low hum coming from the north. They looked and saw a sparrow rounding a glaicer in the distance and speeding towards them. The sparrow disintegrated and the stranger jumped off. Drifter put a hand on his revolver. He turned to her.
"So. You must be this stranger we've been hearin about, the one who sent that signal." The stranger nodded and they saw what she was. Metallic.
"You're an Exo." Eris notes out loud. The stranger nods but does not speak. She walks past them and looks off at the distance.
"Good spot to land." Her voice sounds English with the reverb that always comes with Exos. Drifter and Eris look out at the horizon. A pyramid ship wedged into the surface like a chisel. This is what I brought you here to see."
~
Kenneth and Drake flew to Europa immediately after hearing of what they found. Ken got the signal from the Drifter and Drake from Eris, they knew full well the danger of the situation, Europa was not Vanguard approved, still they piled into Ken's ship
"This ship is a dump. What happened to your old one?" Drake asked looking around at the interior. It wasn't as cozy as Ken's usual one. No Golden Age relics.
"You think I'm gonna fly my good one in this far out? And risk never getting it back? Hell no I took the junker." Drake sighed and sat down in the cockpit next to him after swiping off the dust.
"Are you certain that this flying scrap is going to survive Europa?" He asked and looked out the window as they ascended off Earth and jolted into lightspeed. Ken was hesitant.
"Do you want the nice lie or the cold hard truth that you probably shouldn't even pick it's really not worth-"
"Kenneth."
"....maybe." Drake got up from the chair and grumbled to himself.
"I'm going to walk around." He said halfheartedly and exited the cockpit to find another hopefully not-too-disgusting place to sit and think. He found a broom and began to brush off a place for himself to sit and meditate on the last time he had gone out this far. Eve buzzed around him, she could tell something was troubling her Guardian but ever since his encounter with his father she had been quiet. He thought about calling Torra but he didn't want her to worry anymore.
Drake still felt ashamed for the events of that day. It was idiotic to think he could take on his father alone. He didn't want to involve anyone else because he didn't want anyone else to fix what he thought was his mess. It wasn't his mess. It was his father's, but none of that mattered now and not just others, but his own lover got hurt. When he woke up he saw Torra over him, he remembered the tears down her face. She had taken her hood off to try to get through to him, a fruitless attempt. As he contemplated what had happened he heard the door open and Eve quickly returned to her bag.
"We're here." Ken announced. His gear had changed drastically from his Last City garb. His hood was white as snow with a glow from his Solar Light running through it, he had a thermal mask over his face along with a wolf insignia on his chest piece. His arms had armoring around them and his boots were gray with pipes running through them. Probably some sort of heating system, it looked appropriate for the surroundings but jerry rigged together in classic Ken fashion.
"I was wondering when you would change." Drake said standing up from his spot on the floor. "You were gonna freeze to death in...whatever you had on before."
"For your information I got that from The Nine. But yeah no that ain't gonna stand up to the temperature of this place." He said fiddling with his Hunter knife.
"Right. Well then we should get going now." Drake looked around the ship then turned to Ken. "Where exactly is the exit?"
"Right there." Ken pointed with his knife to a small round hatch that looked about the size of a trash can.
"...on second thought, transmat me out Eve."
Eve did so and Drake was dropped into the white powder below as the ship flew off to find a suitable landing zone. He looked around through his hood and got hir bearings before summoning his sparrow and sidearm. The wind howled around him and he had to use thermals and the location point to guide him through the terrain, but eventually he came to where an glaicer collided with another creating a flat field of ice where he saw both the ship and where the signal came from.
Drake took his sparrow up over the cliff and onto the ice meeting up with Ken and speeding off toward the camp that was set up against the glaicer. The storm was not as bad here as the cliff blocked the bad weather so he could make out three figures. Eris was sitting by the fire, Drifter was standing and fiddling with a radio and another hooded Exo that Drake had never seen before was leaned up against the tent. She had a pulse rifle slung across her back.
"'Sup Drift? How's it goin." Ken asked and got off his sparrow. Drifter waved to him not moving from his place by the fire. Drake understood why, whoever this hooded stranger was was an Exo, with no feeling for the blistering cold, Eris was Awoken and Drifter was human.
"Aside from the storms that come up over the ridge every now and then, not too bad." Drifter answered and took a swig of something in his canteen, Eris said otherwise.
"We have much to talk about." She said gravely and the stranger walked forward to greet the Hunter and Warlock.
"Greetings." She said in a metallic voice. Ken recognized it was modeled after a posh British accent and along with her frame she would be eye candy for any interested Guardian. "My name is Elsie Bray and like Eris said, we have a lot to explain."
~
The pyramid ship, Elsie's origin and why they were here already were heavy subjects, but then she told them why they needed them here so urgently. Drake was astonished at all of it. He had studied the records left on Mars' Braytech facility before The Eclipse, Elsie was Ana's sister but not from their timeline. Instead she somehow was able to move through the Vex Network using her weapon as an anchor point. Fascinating. He would have numerous questions for Elsie, but those would have to wait.
"You have an Exo friend yes? He's a Titan." The two thirds of a strike team nodded. "He is here. But... he is lost to something. He's gone on a rampage destroying everything in his path in blind rage." This concerned Ken greatly. Drake couldn't believe it.
"No. No those days are over, Chao reset himself he is a different person now there's no way-" Ken put his hand on his shoulder and pointed to the ebony pyramid looming behind them. Drake lowered his head and stood up. "Where is he now?"
"He is almost here, but I know how we can help him. He's an Exo, we can use my bastard father's laboratory to reset him again and hopefully that will calm him down. Ken shook his head.
"No. Nu uh no way absolutely not, we are not resetting our friend he will lose everything he knows about us. We'll break his corruption just like we did Drake." Elsie nodded but did not look as sure of herself.
"Come with me, he's just up the glaicer. The storm will have moved on by now."
~
The three of them took their sparrows up to where an old communications satellite dish laid in ruin from both the weather and their corrupt Titan friend. Ken pulled up his hood that had blown off from the ride up and took out his handcannon from its holster. Drake readied his sidearm and Elsie followed suit with her weapon while they braced themselves. They could hear the crushing of metal coming from the radio tower and soon it would no longer hold, fallong over onto the outpost with a crash. On top of the building was a Titan in armor that was black as soot and looked like a knight. His armor had changed. He was breathing heavily.
The Titan turned his head and saw the three of them, then he did something that Drake nor Ken had ever seen. His chest exploded and his fist became encased in ice, he ran off the building jumping up and slamming it into the ground. Drake was so baffled at this that he had to be woken up by a shout from Ken.
"Drake get your head in the game man! We gotta take him down!" Ken shot rounds of his Sacramento at Chao but he slammed the ground and more ice shot up and the shots hit it instead. Then the Titan slid into them and they shattered into shards that exploded out and at Ken and Drake. This was not normal ice, it was sharp and tough as a rock crystal and it embedded itself into Ken's leg. He yelped out in pain.
"Agh- Son of a bitch that hurt! Drake! Don't let them hit you!" Drake ran over to Ken and put his healing rift down but it would only do so much and the Titan was not stopping to let the Hunter go through rehab. Chao slid into Drake and landed a punch knocking him off his feet and over Ken as he clutched his chest in pain. Elsie helps Drake up.
"I've called for Drifter and Eris, they'll be here shortly. Kenneth! Can you keep him busy?" Ken dodged out of the way of one of Chao's attacks and pulled out the shard with another scream.
"Yeah I can keep him busy but where the hell are you going?!" Elsie summoned her sparrow once she heard Drifter and Eris coming up the ridge.
"The Drifter and Eris are coming to help! I'm taking Drake somewhere where we can even the odds! We'll be back soon!" With that she and Drake sped off.
------------------------------------------
And here it is everyone! Part 2 of Chao's story here on Europa. I know this is like 2 seasons late and we're almost to Splicers (which looks really cool btw definitely look out for stuff around this new season) Hunt was the worst season for me and the burnout hit quick, I played enough of Chosen to hear all the voice lines of my favorite blonde mechanic during Battlegrounds and took down Caital's champ in the tank. Long rambling short: It's almost summer and I'm ready to write more stuff as the longest and hardest school year finally starts to wind on down. And as always I hope you enjoy!

Expunged- Part I
The radio crackled in Chao's ship as he flew toward the location of the distress signal at light speed, he could just barely make out what it was saying but he was able to decipher the coordinates. He jolted out of light speed as he passed by the atmosphere of Jupiter, the titanic jovian cast a shadow on him so dark that if he didn't have lights he would not be able to see much. He looked over at another green colored moon that orbited the planet, Io was lost to the Darkness now. As he kept going the navigation system told him he was getting closer to the signal. That's when he realized where it was coming from and why there was so much static. The icy moon of Europa slowly orbited on Chao's left.
Chao was apprehensive as he was pulled into the planet's orbital gravity, the last time he was here was not pleasant. He had come here on a mission to scope out a new arena for his Crucible, all he found was a ship frozen in ice, broken in half and a Clovis Bray machine gun prototype. Along with a heap of trouble, it was a notoriously bad place for his kind. He couldn't leave now though, he'd already come this far and wasn't backing out if he could help whoever it was on the radio.
The ship sat down on a snowy plateau, the wind was blowing it everywhere and Chao could barely make out where he was going, not only that but the armor he wore was not fit for this type of weather. The cold didn't effect him of course, he was an Exo but the snow was so deep and his helmet had no thermals. He took off the navigation system from his ship and clipped it onto his belt as his Mark blew in the wind. Then he set it to where it would alert him if he was at his destination. For now he grabbed his pulse rifle, No Feelings and trudged through the snow following the lights on the other side of the ridge that shone through the blizzard.
He made his way toward the lights and the radio static began to come through a little clearer. Though the howling wind still made it hard to tell what was being said, he knew he was close, he saw the remains of an old facility captured in the icy surface. The front of it seemed like it was torn open by someone... or something. He proceeded with caution and kept his weapon close by as he descended down into the cavern that used to be enclosed but was now at the mercy of the treacherous weather. He turned on the light on his helmet to see better as he walked down the stairs and out into an area that reminded him of Titan's Arcology. Golden Age maybe, sleek designs. It was a miracle this place was still running after all this time. He stepped through the hallway and the door mechanism showed a green light before sliding open. The blinding light from the next room poured in and Chao's blue eyes whirred as they adjusted to let less light in. Pointless for Exos other than having to keep them as accurate to humans as possible. Chao stepped through the door to the giant room and he looked on what he saw with worry. First thing he saw was the logo. Clovis Bray Exoscience. Second thing he saw was the Crux. The loudspeaker gave a three toned trill before he heard a voice.
"Welcome home my robotic savior. I trust that you... recognize where you are now." Chao gave a nod, though it was small.
"I am the one who sent the distress signal, however I am not in any danger no, on the contrary I am perfectly content right where I am."
"And where might that be?" Chao tried seeing if he could figure out what was going on.
"Not sure... I seem to be surrounded by late uh- experiments of what this facility studied back in our Golden Age. All by the great Clovis Bray the First, father of Clovis Bray the Second and grandfather to Ana and Elsie Bray. One of the greatest minds of our time, for you see he was never afraid to do what needed to be done for the betterment of humanity. You were once researched here to travel the cosmos and beyond, however we all know that is not possible with the means you attempt now... shame. Instead you were created for something more dire, you Chao-5 were built for war." Chao didn't hear the door lock behind him as the voice monologued.
"All Exos were built for war, but that doesn't mean we all followed what we were created to do." The voice laughed at that.
"Really? So toting around high powered weapons and wielding Light and Dark against those that seek to win isn't for war?"
"I serve to protect the last of humanity, I do not use my Light with reckless abandon, I use it to shield those who cannot carry one of their own." Chao said firmly.
"Your track record says otherwise." The voice challenged. "Chao-4, Vanguard reprimand: War Crimes. Quote: Using Striker powers against enemy force innocents. Chao-4, Vanguard reprimand: Misuse of power and broken Crucible rules. Quote: Blatant disregard for teammates lives, four injured, 2 killed." Chao stood still, he couldn't speak.
"Sounds like that fight is still inside you. It hasn't gone anywhere, no maybe how many times you try to reset yourself you were created to do battle. You are an Exo, it is your prime directive, the Clarity that Clovis used still remains after all this time." The voice was behind him now it Whispered in his audio sensors.
"You've merely directed your fighting toward a different cause. Now I am going to do the same." Chao couldn't move, he was trapped in an overshield of shadow that encased him. The voice came into view, a Warlock draped in shadow, Awoken, his hair almost looked like Ken's. He fired a round from Chao's own pulse rifle into his chest plate and it shattered. The Warlock hooked up a cord to one of the nearby work stations and began to scroll through Chao.
"Don't worry, just like you've lived your whole life... you won't feel a thing. You will fight for us now Chao-6."

Fireteam Misfits Lore Book 3- Ancestory
Aleina walked into the house pulling down her hood and holding her helmet at her side. Ken and Hailey were watching TV on the couch and turned to her.
"How was your day babe?" Ken asked giving her a kiss as Hailey kept her eyes away from her embarrassing parents.
"Mmm not too bad. Especially now that you're here." She smiled and began taking off her cloak giving it to Ken and going off to their room upstairs to change. She came down soon after Ken and Hailey had gotten their gear on.
"Cosmodrome is getting opened up for patrol again I hear." Ken said making conversation as they got ready to go.
"Mm hm! It'll be nice to get out there again." She stopped herself then and thought about their destination. "Are we sure that this will be okay? There is a ship on Titan." She whispered to Ken keeping the place they were going hidden for Hailey until they arrived. They both agreed it would be best.
"We'll be okay, we got each other. Just keep moving and be careful and we'll be in and out no problem." Aleina nodded but put her hand at her side where her knife was sheathed as they walked to the hangar elevator.
~
It wasn't long before the three of them could see the blue methane oceans of the moon of Saturn as Ken flew the ship down. Hailey looked up from her phone and out the viewport getting a glimpse of her surroundings.
"Question. Why are we taking a family outing to a hostile environment?" Ken grabbed a spare rifle and grenade launcher while Aleina answered Hailey's question.
"This is something your father and I do every year sweetie, I had anticipated it would be a few more until you came along but here we are." She chuckled softly to herself, Hailey noticed it seemed sad but decided not to pry. She would probably find out soon anyways.
They made their way over past the docks and over to the entrance of the Arcology. Each taking out a weapon and clearing the way through blasting Thrall and Acolytes as they went deeper. The broken display screens glitched out and the plants had overgrown getting into everything. The decaying halls told a tale of a once bustling place of living, a civilization on the far reaches of Sol. Until something wiped them out... and Ken had a feeling the same thing that did was the same dark, monolithic pyramid looming over the horizon.
They all reached a tunnel system past more Hive gunk that lined the walls and gave way to an open space. Ken sighed reaching for Aleina's hand which she promptly took as Hailey tried to figure out why they were acting this way. They said nothing and walked over to a familiar mound of rocks that was once marked with a Hunter knife. A knife that Aleina carried with her to this day, the knife that marked the burial site. Ken sat down and Hailey could see tears starting to fall from his eyes.
"Mom, wh- why is dad crying?" Hailey asked trying to put the pieces together but failing. Aleina turned to her staying close to Ken and holding his hand still.
"Honey, this... this is Malcom. My adopted father and your grandfather." She tried to say as she started to cry as well, she wiped her face with her cloak but smiled through it.
"Oh..." Hailey couldn't get out anything more than that, she looked at the mound of rocks that made up the grave, they were all placed with care. She realized that Ken must've made it himself, he watched him die and had to bury him. She couldn't imagine having to do that with any of her parents, she realized then how much of a warrior her father was that day.
~
After explaining a bit more of what happened and how the two of them visited the place last year for the first time together with Miss Linden, Ken told stories about her grandfather. He told about how he taught him how to summon the Goldengun, his first sparrow race, his research on all the different things he dug up from the Golden Age. And that was just the tip of it, because Hailey knew Ken still used those maps to this day to find more and fix it back up.
They stayed and cried some more as Hailey tried to comfort her mom and dad and they eventually decided to leave. Ken took one last family picture in front of it just in case that pyramid tried any funny business and made their way back to the ship. When they got back home they bought some candy and spent some time relaxin together at home. They tried to do a puzzle but Sol kept interrupting, so instead Ken brought out his guitar and played an acoustic version of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" which he had read was supposed to be a song meant for around this time way back in the Golden Age. It was a bittersweet time for the Reyez family, but they were all happy to have each other as the sun started to hide behind its curtain of Earth on the horizon.
The yearly family tradition, now with Hailey along for it all. I know Halloween was yesterday so I'm a little late but enjoy this start to the next Misfits Lore Books and Happy Festival of the Lost Guardians!

*Is a blubbery mess after this* TwT
Saw requests open, hope I’m doing this correctly. Amanda x Male reader fluff?
Me, thinking about how Festival of the Lost is one of the most important holidays to Holliday:  o w o
Amanda Holliday x M!Reader - Honor Our Dead
You carried a small candle in your hands, the violet wax seemed to change the color of the pale flame, as you walked down the stairs to the Hanger.  The late autumn air had swept through the Last City and filled the air with a chill that tingles your nerves.  Everyone in the Tower was already wearing extra layers of clothing, already preparing for the cold winter that was just around the corner.
But not Amanda.  Amanda was more resilient to the elements than anyone you’d met, citizen and Guardian alike.
Holliday’s entire expression brightened when she set eyes on you.  “Hey there, hero!”  She said cheerfully with a bright smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
Her smile… Traveler, her smile was infectious.  You couldn’t help but smile back at her.  “Hey there, Holliday,” you replied, “can I steal you away for a bit?”
Her expression softened and she turned her attention back to the engine she was working on.  “C’mon now,” she hummed.  “It’s the Festival!  One of my busiest times of year, since SRL hasn’t been up n’ running.”
You sighed and shook your head with a laugh.  “It really wasn’t much of a question, Amanda, I’m asking you out on a date.”
Amanda’s hands slowed their work until she finally placed down her wrench, wiped the grease off of her hands, and then poised her hands on her hips.  “Alright, hero,” she laughed.  “Where we going?”
You grinned at her and outstretched your hand, which she took gladly.  You pulled her against your side and wound your arm around her back, and she laughed quietly as she took the candle out of your hand.  You remained quiet as you two walked through the Tower, your hand cradled the curve of her waist, and Amanda leaned her head on your shoulder.
You descended into the City, where the holiday festivities continued to decorate your surroundings.  Candles, lights, shrines and altars to the deceased decorated the streets.  Children ran around, wearing masks and costumes as they collected candy from houses, storefronts, and stalls.  Amanda was smiling at the sight of the celebrations.
“Where are we going?”  She asked you again, and not a moment later did you stop in front of your place in the city.  There was an altar set up on the front deck, and you let Amanda go as you walked up the steps and relit the candles.  You could hear her footsteps behind you as she walked up.  “What… what is this?”
You smiled as you turned to face her and you outstretched your hand.  “ You mean so much to me, Amanda,” you confessed quietly.  “You dedicate your heart and soul into everything you do as our shipwright and especially during this holiday, and yet you still find time to spend with me.”
She took your hand and stepped closer to you.  She stood by your side and gazed over at your altar: you had photographs of a few friends who had died during the Red War, one of Cayde, whose death was still fresh in everyone’s mind, and The Chaperone was placed on a stand on one of the platforms, your token to her mother.
“Let’s honor our dead.”
There were tears in her eyes, she was wordless, but Amanda was smiling.  She was at a loss for words, but she was so touched by the notion.  The two of you sat on the small loveseat next to the altar, reminiscing of old friends, lost family, and your hopes for brighter days to come.  And the two of you stayed like that until she grew drowsy.
“Thank you,” she whispered softly.  “Thank you for doing this.  I… I haven’t honored my family like this in a long time.”
You smiled softly and pressed a small kiss against her forehead.  “I know,” you whispered.  “And you don’t have to thank me.  I wanted to do this for you.”
She smiled as she nestled against your side and yawned.  You helped her settle against the couch as you stood, blew out the candles on the altar, then helped her stand.  “I can either bring you back to the Tower or you can crash here, up to you.”
“I wouldn’t mind staying here,” she chuckled.   “No one to bother me…”
The corner of your lips tugged upwards into a smile, and you took her hand as you walked towards the door and opened it for her.  “Be my guest.”
