Audie kept talking about how she wanted to be a star, travel the world, and how she couldn't do that on a remote island. Today she finally asked to leave. Literally why would anyone keep a villager like that 😭😭

and it's not just me- this is a major flaw in the game. the villagers may look cute, but they're empty inside. they lack personality and spit out the same three phrases at any given point, i forgot how much of an issue this was

starting a new island made me realize i didn't actually have villagers i liked on my previous island. they were sort of 'trophies' i collected due to them being considered high valued

and now i have a bunch of lovable little friends who are just so so cute

nintendo HAS to be putting drugs into their games because i haven't thought about animal crossing in a YEAR but now im waking up at 5am to buy turnips and watch the sunrise

I literally forgot how fun early game is.

No huge stores, no island plan. Just furniture and bugs and fish and why else play this game?

My favorite days were when I lived in a small tent along with my two little animal friends- that's what this game is about

Something I didn't mention is that I also got peaches as my island fruit, which I've never had before! (In New Leaf as well) It's always been cherries or oranges.

The three additional plots on my island are taken by Audie, Punchy, and Savannah

I wasn't a huge Savannah fan when she was randomly assigned, but she's actually so cute there's no way I'm getting rid of her

The Animal Crossing gods blessed me with starter villagers Quinn and Scoot (purple eagle girlboss and green duckling)

I parted with my 5 year old island to start anew, because upon picking up my switch I realized I no longer recognized the island achievements as my own— they were accomplished by an entirely different person, a 14 year old kid.

Saying goodbye to nearly all of the furniture in the game, some of the highest rated villagers (i.e. Raymond, Marshall, Fauna, Bunnie, Hamlet, Bob) wasn't easy, but at the end of the day, I realized I only had them because they were considered highly rated, and not because I actually liked them. (Except for Hamlet my baby).

So I went and deleted it.

I've always thought of myself as the last person who'd do something like this, partly because I'm a completionist and a sucker for nostalgia, but here I am anyway.
