James gave a nod and a point as a way of saying thanks before walking where she had directed. “Oh don’t worry, nothing horrible,” he said. “He just said that you’d be… interesting to have as part of our campaign.” He turned back to Kiara and narrowed his eyes. “Any idea as to why Levitt would describe it as… interesting?” James perused the shelf and pulled out a comic that caught his eye. “So, is Levitt a good boss? Or is he hiding his true jerk self under that charming facade?”

 “I’m not sure I’m entirely convinced it’s not horrible- but I’ll take your word for it.” Kiara said with a light laugh. At his next words, curiosity flowed through her. “Interesting? I’m not sure if I should take that as a compliment or not. I’ll be honest- your guess is as good as mine.” She responded to the man, her arms leaning against the counter. “Levitt? He’s great. I think he’s just happy I can understand most of his Star Wars references, I’m being fully honest. Or most of his pop culture references.”

Some of these have already been sorta filled. Mainly some high school friends, neighbors, etc. so if there is anything you see on here a bit more specific, please tell me if you’re interested.

Family

Kiara’s family is her top priority. There is a lot of detail for her Family and that drama, but please love her.

* siblings: Kiara had a brother around 25ish. I’m currently trying to come up with fc recs

*  cousins that are more like siblings : cousins that act more like they’ve grown up together and are attached at the hip. Kiara had family is PP, so she more than likely has cousins around

* A long lost sibling: Probably an older sibling from one of her dad’s past relationship nobody ever knew about. I have a lot of ideas for this so hmu fr that- HOLLY

Friendship

Keep in mind, Kiara has been in Providence Peak since she started her Freshman year of high school.

* Childhood Friends: the title speaks for itself.

* best friends: a partner in crime, the ying to the yang. the pair or more that are typically attached by the hip, consult each other, and couldn’t live without one another

*  bad influence: best friends who constantly encourage each other to do bad things

*  good influence: best friend who look out for each other and often act as a conscience to each other.

* family friends: friends who met through family, could either be close or it be an awkward situation because they don’t really get along or know each other well. (Holly)

* friends with lingering feelings: self explanatory, friends where either one or both have some kind of romantic feelings that pass more then just friends

* friend-zoned: dun dun duh, a friend who wanted to be something more but was denied.

*  confident/cornerstone: someone who acts as a shoulder to lean on and someone to vent to.

* partner-in-crime: weather it'a a wing-man/woman situation, or just stirring up random harmless trouble here and there.

Romantic

Kiara deep down is a hopeless romantic, but is way to scared and guarded when it comes to her own romantic life. However she believes ‘the one’ is out there. Maybe… (some of these are pretty wanted too so like…)

* Ex’s that are friends: For one reason or another, they both got along great. However, romantically there just wasn’t a spark. So now the pair are good friends.

* Normal Ex’s on good terms

* mutual crushes: either they both have feelings for each other that is p obvious but aren’t ready to take the next step. or it can be one sided or both could be completely oblivious to the other liking them.

* secret relationship: a relationship kept on the down low because of whatever reason.

*  will they, won’t they: a pair of friends or maybe not friends who contantly flirt and act like a couple but it’s teetering on a cliff on whether or not they’ll take that step.

* Ex’s on bad terms: Kiara did have one bad relationship in high school. They were very serious and she thought they both loved each other. She was super in love with him. And then she found out he’d been cheating on her with one of their friends.

* exes with lingering feelings: exes that broke up but still have feelings towards each other and can’t help but feel jealous/hurt seeing the other with someone else.

* sweethearts: they don’t have to necessarily ever date , just two very liked people who everyone seems to think are dating 

* Secret Admirer: Someone who kinda has feelings for the other from afar.

* Best Friends everyone thinks are dating.

* Tinder match/Dates: Kiaras brothers made Kiara a tinder account. Kiara doesn’t get what the purpose of it is. so maybe she matches with someone who thinks they’re just gonna hook up, maybe that hit it off. I don’t really care but I love the tinder storyline it is my comedic relief

“Absolutely, drink and pizza are always fine with me.” Julia grinned at Kiara. “Rough week?” She raised a brow, “Sunshine, beer and pizza,” she smiled at her, “we can grab your suit on our way down.” She told her, “you can change in the bathrooms down there.” Julia smiled, turning on her heel to grab her suit from her room and extra towels, “So, what’s made the week rough? Do I need to kick anyone’s ass?”

“Rough is putting it lightly.” Kiara responded to her friend. “Yeah- that sounds good, let’s do it.” She smiled back and followed her friend. At the question of her rough week, she groaned. “Graham. The high school’s called twice this week about him. I don’t know what’s going on with him.”

Molly knew that learning sign wasn’t easy, she’d learnt it alongside English which had been a big advantage, but she’d had to start all over again when she moved to the US and it was really really hard, not only was it a whole different vocabulary, sign language also had its own grammar which was really hard to pick up on. When she was teaching her friends though Molly tended to use SEE or SSE depending on whether it was ASL or BSL, that meant that she signed her words in the same order that she spoke, making it easier for the person she was talking to. “He fell down a step,” she explained, “but he was okay.” She watched the motion for lizard, nodding, “it’s the letter ‘l’ crawling up your arm, like a lizard climbing a tree,” she explained, when she was learning it was always better to have a rationale for each of the signs. “Though if I’m honest I prefer the BSL sign, it’s like a lizard sticking out it’s tongue,” she said as she did it.

It hasn’t been easy for Kiara to learn this new language. She didn’t think it would be this difficult, but here she was. There were so many different ways to sign the same things, so many motions to watch carefully in order to know you’re saying the right thing. Even so, Kiara was insistent to learn. 

“I think I like that way better, too?” She laughed a bit, repeating the motion. “It’s so interesting learning the different signs for creatures like this.”

James went through the door of the shop and looked around to see if the owner was around only for someone to come up behind the counter and answer his question. “Oh no worries,” James said. “I’m here to browse as well, anyway.” He cocked his head to the side as he tried to recall the brunette’s name. “Kiara, right? Levitt was talking about you when we had our last D&D sesh. He said we should show you the ropes.” He grinned. “Anyways, you have anything new in stock?”

Kiara nodded with a smile as he guessed her name. “That’s me. I hope he didn’t say anything too bad.” The woman joked. “I’ve never played, but I’d learn how. My brothers keep saying I need a new hobby.” She shrugged with a smile. “There’s a shelf there to your right that should have our newest arrivals.”

It was never a secret that Holly made it out of her way to be there for others. To be a sort of big sister or even mother figure. After growing up an only child and then becoming a mother to three children, the business owner had so much love she wanted to give. That she wanted to share with everyone else in her life. And Kiara was certainly no different. She has known the girl ever since she moved to Providence Peak with her brothers, their families being close for years. She was so lucky and grateful to have her in her life, for them to be close. Holly knew that she would do anything for the younger woman and for her brothers. “Oh, I bet,” she laughed, relaxing back. She smiled fondly as she watched the kids, Skylar even going out of his way to play with Willow and Blair. “Pretty good. Skylar’s really liking sophomore year so far. Or at least, he’s liking someone. School just started and he’s already got himself a crush on this foreign exchange student.” She chuckled softly. It was adorable. “Willow’s made some new friends and Blair’s liking her new room at the daycare. Otherwise, nothing much is going on. About to get the pumpkin patch ready but yeah. What about you? Everything good with the ankle biters?”

“Oh- an exchange student?” Kiara asked, genuine interested looming in her voice. Holly and her kids felt like family to her. She’s been around since before Skylar was even born and she had a true attachment to them. She turned to watch the group of kids and smiles a bit to herself. “Isn’t he still Ten?” She teased to the mother. “At least they’re all adjusting well. Me? You know, My ankles are in tact- that must count for something.” The brunette laughed. “But things are pretty normal for me. Working, seeing the boys. Graham got in trouble again recently. He wants to get into a good college, but he’s got to get his grades up and check his attitude. They’re warning him they might put him on academic probation if he can’t keep up with his grades. No more soccer for him if that happens. Toby and I can’t seem to get through to him right now.” She told Holly about her situation with her youngest brother. It was his Senior year- but always struggled with his temper for a long time off and on. Kiara wasn’t sure what was going on with him this time, and she was concerned.

Dylan hadn’t met any of the neighbors quite yet, it had been on her mental checklist to get to know people, but she hadn’t checked it off quite yet. Today was her day that she had decided to plant some flowers in front of the house. She had just finished up and was watering the soil when she realized her next door neighbor was home. She thought the timing was impeccable considering she probably looked sweaty and dirty. Waving towards the petite woman she gave a smile, finishing up the first garden bed before shifting the water towards the other. “Hi there, yeah, I just moved it a little while back. I’m Dylan,” she shared before adding, “I’d come over to shake your hand, but I am a bit messy right now.”

Kiara felt a small laugh come across her at the women’s comment of being messy. “That’s okay! I totally understand. The flowers are beautiful.” She gestured to the bed that was planted. “This house is so pretty, it’s nice to see someone adding life to it. What brings you to Providence Peak?”

“I think I’ve heard the word ‘sheesh’ used unironically more times than I can count.” Kiara laughed, taking a seat next to the older woman kids ran around.. Holly’s younger kids played in the back yard of Kiara’s home before a dinner the adults planned to catch up.

Kiara’s known Holly since she moved to town, their families being friends, and they’ve always been close. It felt like Kiara had an older sister she could confide in outside of the family ties she already had. As the two grew into their own lives they were still consistent in each others lives.

“How are they all doing?” Kiara asked, motioning to the children too oblivious to hear their conversation. She’s known all three of Holly’s kids since they were born and grew to genuinely care of all three of them. It didn’t hurt the sound of the kids running around made her feel at home, missing her own brothers for a small moment before turning her attention to her friend.

Where: Sorcerer Scrolls

Kiara was sitting behind the counter of sorcerers scrolls, Going through a small stack of papers from her classroom. It was a normal routine when the store was slow, she went through her kindergarten class’s homework she couldn’t get to while at the school.

The sound of the bell ran through Kiara’s ears as she looked up to see a tall man enter. He looked familiar to her. A friend of Bradys- That’s it! They played D&D together. Kiara’s seen it a few times. “Hey! She smiled at him as he fully entered the building. “If you’re looking for Brady- You just missed him. I think he ran for snacks? I’m not sure- but he’ll be back soon.”

Where: Claret Park Neighborhood

It wasn’t unlike Kiara to be friendly with her neighbors. She wasn’t one to be purposely mean or spiteful. So when the house next door was no longer empty, she was happily surprised. The home had been vacant since well before Kiara had become a, independent resident in the neighborhood. Excitement ran through her knowing it was finally being lived in.

She had just returned home from visiting her brothers when she saw a woman around her age outside the home. As Kiara locked her car she waved with a kind smile to the girl. “I take it you’re my new neighbor.” She greets, her voice light and happy as she took her sunglasses off.

Kiara watched carefully at her friends hands as they conversed. Molly and Kiara have been friends for some time now, but learning to sign has been something that has been slightly difficult her Kiara despite how much attention she pays to it. Thankfully, she’s been able to pick up quite a bit- with plenty of room for improvement. She laughed lightly at the story her friend told her and shook her head. “That doesn’t sound easy at all? What happened to the lizard?” She asked, carefully signing back to the woman across from her. “Lizard-Is this right?” She did the motion again, unsure of herself.

Molly enjoyed Kiara’s company, and it was made even better by the fact that Kiara was going out of her way to learn sign language. Molly was able to communicate with hearing people, but lip reading was exhausting and Molly didn’t particularly enjoy wearing her implants, so when people could sign it made everything much easier for her. Today they were having sandwiches in one of Molly’s favourite places in town. She smiled over to Kiara, “so, today I had a lizard come in with a broken leg, splinting a lizard leg is no easy task I’ll tell you,” she laughed. She signed as she spoke, notably slower than if you saw her sign with her family. Sometimes she taught signs explicitly but sometimes it was easier to just practice using conversation and maybe Kiara would pick up a few new ones.

“Thanks for picking me up,” her car was in the shop, “what did you want to do? I was thinking we could go down to the Jagged Yard? Get a few drinks and maybe order some pizza? We could hit up the Holy Spirits. Whatever you want,” she told Kiara with a smile. They had been friends for a long time, longer than she could be remember being friends with anyone. Friendships had always come and go with her not living in Providence Peak. Outside of Val, Kiara had always been consistent in her life. “Or even go hit up the pool,” she told her, “I’ve got extra suits you can take a pick from. I’m just dying to get out of the apartment.” 

“It’s no problem.” Kiara said, “I could go for drink and pizza. After the week I had it sounds nice.” She suggested to her friend. It was nice to have a night out with a friend after her busy life with work-especially since school school. “Oh! The pool sounds so good! Let’s hit the pool and then get some food? I might have my suit in the car from visiting my aunts.”

Kiara was stocking the children’s books  around the corner of her boss as she overheard the conversation he had with his daughter. A soft smile grew on her lips as memories of her younger brothers doing the same things Brady’s kid was doing right now played through her mind. Her brothers are adults now-which was beyond crazy to her despite her not being much older than them herself. It didn’t stop the nostalgia from running through her mind as she stood from her place and walked over to her boss to grab another stack of books. 

At his question of the kids, she laughed lightly and nodded. “Kids, alright.” She agreed. “I actually got the opportunity to embarrass my youngest brother with my uncle one time in full costume- it was amazing.” She teased. “Just grabbing this stack of books for the kids section.”

The day time rush of the store had died down. They were short staffed yet again. He wouldn’t have come in to work for the day otherwise on the weekend. He was restocking a shelf of non-fiction books. In the corner of his eye, he saw Belle pick up an orc figurine from the game display across from him. “Put that down, sweetie. It’s not a toy.” he called out. “Yes it is, dad.” came her sassy reply. “It’s not the kind of toy you play with.”  The girl put down the figurine and sighed dramatically. “Dad, I’m so bored. You said we didn’t have to come here today.” Brady paused, knowing she had every right to complain. He had her staying with him for just two more weeks before she would return to her mother’s house in Boulder for school. They were supposed to be spending quality time together and for someone her age, this was torture.

“Can I please go to the mall?” she begged him as the mall was right next to the shop. He raised an eyebrow, hesitant to let her go alone, but trying to allow her independence. She continued to pull his arm and plead as if her life depended on it. Brady sighed heavily. “Alright. Do not leave the mall. Do not talk to strangers or boys.” The girl snorted in response but hugged him. “And be back before closing in an hour. If I have to come looking for you, I’m doing it dressed in full wizard garb.” he added. He called as she left the store, he glanced at the other person who entered and shook his head. “Kids, huh?” he muttered. “You looking for something in particular?”
