Why do I keep seeing people say it's harder to draw poc or sometimes more specifically black people?? (This is a rhetorical question, the answer is racism and stupidity)
As someone who has been drawing and been creative in all sorts of mediums, someone who has been doing it as soon as I could hold a crayon:
It is not harder. It is so not harder, it is the same amount of practice needed. If ANYTHING, it's more difficult to make lighter skintones because of the amount of blending and mixing needed for it to not look like a sunburnt white idiot who doesn't believe in sunscreen.
It is POSSIBLY harder to draw certain braids because there's more detail involved than when drawing straight hair.
Just admit you haven't even tried drawing a black person. I believe that most people who say it's harder to draw a black person or in general people of color, haven't even tried it once. Just say you're uncomfortable drawing anyone who isn't white. Just admit you racist and move on. If you ain't racist, you would actually try and not complain cause you'd realize it's not hard.
"Curly hair doesn't work in anime." Yes tf it does, if it's too complex just simplify it.
"I don't know how." Then learn. And if you don't want to learn, ask yourself why not. Really contemplate it.
That is all, thanks to anyone who found and made it through my little rant.

if I had a nickel for every time seth green played the nice boyfriend of the bookish, nerdy girl who fights supernatural beings with her group of friends (called the scooby gang) led by her pretty but badass best friend (played by sarah michelle gellar) before she eventually came out as a lesbian, I'd have two nickels.
