hm, funny enough... i don't ship New Kid with anyone. New Kid is less of a character to me and more of a very detailed role? It's why I like reading about people's MCs so much 🥰

only going to say this once, since anons sending hateful messages seems to be all the rage today:

i am proud of my jewish heritage. so is lucas. no amount of thinly veiled antisemitism that gets sent to my inbox will change that.

IF authors are creating stories that they are proud of, with rich, fleshed out characters. in a lot of cases, they are doing it for free.

sending an anonymous message that disrespects or blatantly disregards a character’s identity, or an author’s identity, because you “disagree with it” or “don’t like it” is disgusting. it’s hateful. it’s discouraging.

respect IF authors and the stories they create. it’s literally the least you can do.

what some people seem to not get about interactive fiction is that this is still a story. you, the reader, and your mc are a part of that world and exist within those confines as long as you are reading it.

you don't get to pick and choose every facet of the characters or their journey within someone else's story just because you can make some choices along the way. if you don't like something about it, stop reading. don't fucking go in authors' inboxes because you feel you are owed something. you're not. this is their story.

devblogs on tumblr are not something you are entitled to, but a way for authors to share their story and extras with you. the author's time is not something you're entitled to. they're not here for you to air your nasty, often racist, transphobic, acephobic opinions. gain some perspective or get the fuck out.
