Now that I have your attention:

Some of you may know that I was recently in Palestine.

While there, my resolve to do everything in my power to help only strengthened, and I came back wanting to check in on a few of the campaigns I had adopted. To my disappointment, a couple of them were frozen or reported, even though they had been tirelessly vetted and verified.

The worst part is that there are talks of a temporary ceasefire happening again, with the Rafah border crossing opening once more, and my friend Fidaa fears that after all of the hard work, she might not be able to get her two young children (a toddler and a baby) out. She is their sole provider right now.

So we have set up a temporary fundraiser for her on Chuffed, while we work to get her funds unsuspended (if we can). We have to act fast. Please know that two things are true: giving even a very small amount helps, and if you are unable to right now, spreading this campaign and getting more eyes on it helps.

The goal is $15,000 USD. We're starting this off at $285. Please help me get eyes on this.

This will be short because as much as I yap. I don't really know how to make pointed pleas for help.

if you have anything to spare, please consider sending what you can to my friend Khawla's campaign below. she is trying to raise enough money for her three children, her husband and herself to escape Gaza and find refuge in Egypt. even if the border opens, they will not be able to leave the country unless they have $5k saved each. total $25,000. it is very difficult for them to gather that money. as you know, the prices of basic necessities have gone through the roof, and all donations go to food and medicine at this point.

tumblr donations are drying up, and she is desperate to save her family. she jokes (is throwing a haha at the end a joke?) that unless someone were able to donate the full amount the moment the border opens, they still would be unable to reach safety.

please put that large dollar figure out of your mind when you consider that every penny helps keep this young family alive. anything you can do she would very much appreciate and so would her husband and 3 young children.

Little Majd needs your help

Majd Al-Habeel @youseffamily has known little of life without suffering. After losing his home to IOF bombardment, he and his parents were forced to live in a tent. This wreaked havoc on Majd’s health, as he is diagnosed with a serious respiratory illness that limits his ability to breathe. Living in a tent leaves one exposed to dust, dirt, debris, vermin, mold, fungus, and harsh weather—the worst possible environment for a child with his condition.

His family requires mutual aid to provide for Majd’s life-saving care, as well as to procure food, water, medications, other supplies, and clothing and gear for winter. They are a little over two-thirds of the way to their current listed goal, with still a long way to go. Please help this family out and give sweet Majd a better chance at life.

if muhammad is right, the crossing will open soon. that means he has only a limited amount of time to raise funds and get his family to a safe place.

muhammad is only 26. he's younger than i am. it breaks my heart that this is something he has to worry about. unfortunately, it is, and he's got his family to worry about too:

mona, his wife, 24 years old

iman, 6, and toleen, 5, his daughters

his mother and father

they've lost their home in the war. they are currently displaced in deir al balah. iman and toleen have gotten sick due to the conditions in the camp they're staying in. look at these sweet girls; they don't deserve this.

they deserve a home. they deserve warmth and safety. they deserve a cozy bed to sleep in every night, and a home to decorate with star-shaped lights like they had before.

this is not merely a dream they have; it is an attainable goal.

muhammad needs to raise €30k total to get his family out, of which he only has €5257 at the time of my writing this post. i am appealing to all of you who see this post to please share it. please donate whatever you can. i know a lot of people have been feeling hopeless especially now, but please don't. there is hope. if the people of palestine have hope and faith, so should we all. and now more than ever we need to work together to help them.

Do not really know what to say. A year ago we were making posts about how Gaza was being bombed through Christmas- how the oldest Christian community was being bombed- how the birth place of Jesus was being destroyed and his people murdered. A year later, it is going to be Christmas again soon, and the bombings have not stopped. But the news, and the attention seems to have died down considerably. It feels terrible and scary.

Our daily struggle to find a piece of bread 🍞

It is well known now that the people of Gaza in the south part are struggling and experiencing the hunger again due to lack of wheat flour 🌾 , which is necessary to make bread 🥖 🍞

Yesterday i have made my journey to bring bread from one of the bakery in Nuserirat area, after waiting for more than 5 hrs, unfortunately I was not able to bring eatable bread to my small family.

The price of 20 small bread is 20 nis (about 5,5$), and from the black market it is more 10-15$.
