this originally funny and bizarre little scene makes me sad to read now that i know

1) what killua’s childhood was actually like

2) the fact that killua rarely acts this over-the-top exaggerated/forced silly for this long

3) that it’s shown at other times throughout the series that killua will sometimes say something serious and then when he realizes that it makes the other person upset he’ll backpedal and try to act like it was a joke
