Chapter 14
Kimora's POV
I could feel Jay's excitement growing underneath me as I rubbed myself against him, building up the tension within me. As we continued to kiss, I decided to leave him wanting more. I broke our connection and moved to his neck, planting a trail of soft kisses till I reached his Adam's apple latching my lips to his heated skin. I wanted to leave my mark on him to show that I wanted more but later. When I withdrew my lips from his neck, I glanced at his face. His eyes held lust and pink-tinted his cheeks as his mind went blank. I looked at my work on his neck, a big dark bruise adorned his neck, and I was proud of my work.
"Now, you have something to look towards."
I walked away from his person and blew him a kiss and left. I was on my way back to the office when I saw two men standing in the hallway. Both were working on something, so I just walked by to head to the elevator. Once I stepped through the doors, the two men pushed their way into the doors and held me by my arms. The ride down wasn't interrupted by anybody, and once we reached the bottom, I was dragged off. They had gagged me and began to drag me off towards the back of the building. I tried to get them off of me, but they were too strong. I finally was able to slip out of their grip and run back into the building, when one tripped me by grabbing onto my foot. I was close enough to the door frame, so I held onto that as they pulled on me. I began to kick my legs and managed to hit one in the gut, releasing his grip on my foot. Scrambling up to my feet, I tried to run again, but they were much faster. Grabbing my waist and legs, they began to haul me to a black van.
"STOP!"
The two men stopped, and I looked up to see Jay running towards us. They rushed to get me inside the van, one behind me and the other about to climb inside. I threw my head back, making contact with the nose of one of the guys behind me, making him release me in the process. Then I shoved all my weight onto the guy climbing in, causing him to fall out. I took my chance and ran towards Jay, not sparing a glance back. All I saw was Jay, any minute now, I will be in his arms. He had his gun-armed and was firing as I made my way towards him. Covering my head as I ran through the gunfire, I was closing the gap between us.
"Jay, Diamond!"
I saw Kwon running out of the back door. I was so close to Jay now, but he wasn't focused on me but on the guys behind me. It scared me to see him like this. Was this the pain he expresses towards me? I knew he was busy, so I ran into the arms of Kwon. Once in his arms, I bawled as soon as his arms were around me. What do they want? Are they working for that guy? Kwon pulled me back inside as Jay arrested one of the men. During all the commotion, he managed to shoot the kidnapper in his leg and shoulder, but the others got away. Jay put cuffs on the man, and both made their way to the building.
"Aye man, you shot me in my leg. Shouldn't I get a wheelchair?"
"If you can talk, you can walk."
I've never seen Jay this upset before. As they passed Kwon and me, the man looked at me.
"Ahh baby girl, you have your boyfriend doing all the work. This would have allllll stopped if you just came."
He let out a spine-tingling chuckle, only to be shoved by Jay. As their figures grew smaller, Kwon held on to me till the man was out of sight.
"Are you okay, Diamond?"
And for the second time in my life, I fell silent. I was so scared that I fell to my knees. Tears streaming down my face and chills run up and down my spine. I was shaking uncontrollably. I couldn't breathe. Everything was so dark. Jay! I needed Jay! Where is he? Then I felt a cool hand on my forehead, and I began to calm down. I saw Kwon with worry written all on his face.
"Let's get you some water."
He helped me up, but I had no strength to stand. Another officer ran by and helped Kwon walk me to the break room.
Jaehwa's POV
I had the man in the interrogation room. I just watched him cringe in pain every time he would breathe.
"Man, this gunshot really hurts. Shouldn't I be treated for this?"
"You don't deserve to be helped."
"Are you upset because I got more action from that Bit..."
I slammed my hand against the table, causing him to jump.
"Why were you trying to take her? What do you want from her?"
"Nothing. My boss is the one who wants her."
"Who is your boss?"
He smirked
"Like I'm going to tell you."
I knew I wasn't going to get far with him, but at least one man is out of the picture. I headed towards the door when...
"You should tell Kimora that my boss has been waiting for a long time to finally see her again and wished that she had said yes the first time."
I just left the man and went to find Kimora.
"Detective Oh."
I turned to see Officer Jung.
"What is it?"
He just handed me a folder. Inside held pictures of the bombing from earlier. Out of the six shots, one made my heart stop. It was two bodies placed in a circle, where there two faced each other in a Yin/Yang symbol. But the thing that made my stomach drop was the little shrine in the center. The frame held a picture of Kimora. I was about to walk away when Jung stopped me.
"Sir, the two victims were identified. A Korean woman, possibly 19 or 20 years of age and an American, age 16."
I looked away, unable to process the words.
"Thank you."
He bowed and left. I felt tears build-up due to anger and fear, but I blinked them away and continued on my journey of finding Kimora. I made my way to the break room, where I saw In-Taek sitting at the table looking away from the door. I knocked to show I was there. He glanced over and put a finger to his lips. I walked around and saw Kimora asleep on the couch. Her jacket was off, and the bruises from this afternoon began to show. Two big ones adorned her upper arms, and where the gag was tied, a faint blue line began to creep its way up. I crouched to her level and stroked her hair.
"Jaehwa, there's something between you two, isn't there?"

Chapter 13
Jaehwa's POV
Kimora was explaining how each victim connected with her and Miranda's life as if her life wasn't in danger. My stomach was flipping with every word that fell from her lips. I was about to stop her when Kwon beat me to it.
"But what about the first and fourth victim? How do they connect with this?"
"Both of them connect because both are 26 years old, the same age as me. Also, the Thai woman was wearing the same suit I wore from the first day I came in because it was missing from my suitcase."
She posted another picture of her wearing the exact suit the Thai woman had on.
"Meaning that the Killer or one of his men had snuck into my hotel room and stole it."
At this point, I was on fire. I got up and walked out of the room. I didn't know where I was going, but I needed space. I found myself in the locker room. Sitting down on the bench, I rubbed my face with my hands. I was tired and frustrated. How could someone do this? Why does it have to be her? After a minute, I felt someone else in the room. I looked up to see Kimora standing in the doorway. She walked over to me and crouched at my level.
"Jay, is everything okay?"
"What do you want me to say? Yeah, everything is fine. It's not like my girlfriend is a victim in a mass serial killing. Or No babe, I feel better if you were off this case and under protection from the police. Which one do you think?"
"Jay... You know that this is..."
"...Important to me and I have to do this. That's what you always say. Diamond, don't you know that your life is at stake? Do you know that if you go ahead with this, how much will it hurt the people around you? DO YOU EVEN CARE?"
I released so much anger that I punched the closest wall, but the pain still couldn't get the anger out of my head. She sat on the floor with her head down.
"Jay, I know your feelings, but if I'm the last piece. All of this will stop. It wi..."
"The pain in my chest will not stop. EVER. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? ARE YOU THAT SELFISH THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE THE PAIN THAT OTHERS ARE GOING THR..."
Then she slapped me, and I finally looked at her face. There were streams of tears falling from her beautiful eyes.
"Are you that selfish about loving me that you neglect your job!"
Then she stood to walk away. I quickly ran up and grabbed her arm to pull her back to me. I just held her. Her back pressed against my chest. My chin being supported by her shoulder. We stood there for what seemed like hours. Both of us crying and not wanting to let each other go. I opened my mouth.
"Kimora, I love you so much. That.. that it's hard hearing you talk about you being taken from me."
She turned to face me.
"You think it's easy for me to talk about me being taken from you? I don't want this, but if I can stop him, I will..."
I didn't want to hear those words again, so I kissed her and hard. Her small frame encased by my larger one. I held her head in my hands and never broke the kiss. I felt her kiss me back as she placed her hands on mine. I pulled away, and she kissed my wrist.
"Jaehwa, I love you so much. My heart can't stop beating fast when I'm with you.
I kissed her again, but this time wrapping my arms around her thin waist and lifting her up. She wrapped her arms around my neck and legs around my waist—our tongues invading each other's mouths. There was a slight trace of coffee still on her breath, and I couldn't get enough. I felt myself become weak, so I sat down on the beach with her on my lap. Her hands traveled to my face. Her touch calmed my nerves as she would run her hands across my cheeks or through my hair as the kiss became more heated. I couldn't help but run my hands down her waist to her hips then across the curves of her rear. She released a moan into my mouth, which turned me on. I could feel my excitement travel to my lower region, and it didn't help that she would slowly rub herself against me. We finally released each other lips and moved to other parts of our skin. She attached her lips to my neck, peppering light kisses across my neck until latching onto my Adam's apple. Where I felt the pressure building up from my neck, with her kiss there, I felt myself grow bigger and bigger, that she was practically sitting on my excitement. When she pulled back, her lips were swollen but still held a smirk, and she got off of my lap—leaving me confused about why she stopped.
"Now, you have something to look towards."
She blew me a kiss and left. I looked down and saw my bulge straining against my pants and let out a sigh. Standing up, I walked to the sink and splashed water on my face to calm myself. After a couple of passes, I glance and my reflection in the mirror. My hair in every direction, lips were swollen and.
"That little vixen left a hickey on my neck."
I laughed at my current state as I fixed my hair and buttoned up my shirt, which I never do, but it covered the love mark.
"She is so getting it tonight. Just wait, Diamond. Just wait."
After fixing myself, I walked back to the office to see frantic officers and detectives running around, papers flying around, phones going off. I stopped a detective in his tracks.
"What happened?"
"There was a bomb, sir. In the downtown area, sir. Hundreds are hurt, no known deaths."
And with that, he went back to work. I looked around the room, so chaotic, out of order.
"Men, get your heads on straight! We need to leave now to see the damage. Gather the injury and help with the recovery of the missing.
"YES, SIR!"
I ran around trying to find Kimora, but couldn't find her. I checked the women's bathroom, the locker room, and the break room but still no Diamond. As I made my way to the interrogation room, I looked out the window, and I saw a black van. I would have ignored it until I saw a woman being dragged away. I stopped to get a better look when I saw that the woman was Kimora. She had kicked one of the men and tried to run off when the other grabbed her from behind. I quickly ran down the stairs to catch them before they leave. When I arrived, she was just about to be thrown into the van.
"STOP!"
The men looked at me, distracting them from her, and she thrust her head back into one of the man's nose, causing him to release her and reach for his nose. She then shoved the other and ran towards me. They both stood up and tried to grab her again, but I had my gun and fired. I managed to hit one of the men in the shoulder, causing him to fall back.
"Jay, Diamond!"

Chapter 12
Kimora's POV
Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzz
"Hello... Another one... Yes, we'll be there... Yes."
I felt Jay move, but I was so tired. Slowly opening my eyes, I saw Jay rubbing his face and heard him sigh heavily. I rolled away from him to try to sleep some more, but he laid on top of me. I was pulled the sheets over my face before he attacked me with kisses.
"We have to get up."
"I don't want too."
"I know, but we have to."
"What time is it?"
"2:30 in the morning. There was another murder. We need to go."
I sat up with sleep in my eyes. I glanced over to Jay, who seemed to be distracted. So I looked down to see that I was still naked. Grabbing a pillow, I smacked it against his face.
"Yay!"
He just chuckled and got up. He stood up, naked and proud. I gulped. Then he walked out of the room. The images from last night played in my head, and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks, and the waterworks begin again.
"Come on. We don't have time.
"Yeah yeah, old man."
I slipped out of bed, bending over to pick up my sweatshirt when I felt a slap to my butt.
"That's not what you said last night."
I blushed and shoved him back on the bed and ran out.
"We don't have time, remember."
~After awhile~
We arrived at the crime scene. It seems to be a downtown area with a lot of business development buildings around, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I've seen this place before.
"The victim was discovered at 2:15 by local officers in this area. The victim is a 29-year-old woman. Black hair and fair skin. No visible markings from the first glance, but we'll see after forensics takes a look. Jay lifted the caution tape and let me pass. Upon entering the scene, flashes of the first time I watched Miranda's photoshoot interrupts my view. I blinked the image away to see a woman sitting on a bench. She wore a light brown suit with white heels. Some type of brace held her head up without being seen at a quick glance. I walked up to the woman and made a note of everything I saw. The next moment left me speechless. On her left wrist was the missing silver bracelet I gave Miranda, that was lost the day she died. I walked back and remembered everything from that day.
~I stood off to the side as my friend Miranda, did her photoshoot.
"Okay, Miranda, look up here. Nice. Let's take a break."
Miranda stood up and walked over to me.
"So what do you think. Think you can do it."
"I don't know. It seems really demanding."
She placed her arm around my shoulder, her silver bracelet blinding me.
"Look, I know you can do it. You just look into that camera and say 'You can't have me.'"
I laughed at her phrase.
"Listen, Kimora. Tomorrow, I will give you this suit as a gift for trying something new and always be in control. This is your suit of armor, and no one will break you. Understand?"
I nodded and smiled.~
The flashback faded, and I let out a quivering sigh.
"Diamond, you okay? You spaced out."
Kwon walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at the body and saw forensics begin to remove the brace.
"Wait!"
They stopped and removed their hands.
"Don't touch her yet."
I walked over to an officer with a camera.
"Can I borrow this?"
For my flashback, I sat right where the director sat when he took her photos. Snapping a shot here and there. Handing the camera back, I asked him to email them to me and walked away.
"Kimora. Wait up."
Stopping, I turned to face Jay. He had worry written all over his face
"Don't worry. Trust me. Can you handle the rest, I have something important to do."
He nodded. I looked around to make sure no one was looking and kissed his cheek.
"I'll be fine."
And left.
Upon arriving at the Agency, I headed straight to my office. Since it was 4 in the morning here, it's 3 in the afternoon there. I picked up my phone and dialed a number. Ring... Ring... Ring.
"Hello"
"Commissioner Davis. It's me, Diamond."
"Diamond! What are you doing up so early in the morning? I heard about the murders and you being a target. Is everything okay? Are you okay?"
"Yes, Sir. I'm fine. I actually called you to ask you a favor."
"Anything."
"Could you fax me a case file?"
"Yes, yes, with one?"
"Miranda Choi. I think I found a lead."
Jaehwa's POV
After cleaning up the scene, I drove to the Agency to look for Kimora. After the elevator ride up, I walked into the office to see 6 whiteboards inside. All had something on them relating to the case. I walked around, trying to find her. Stepping inside her office, I walked into a complete mess of papers and sticky notes. Walking around the desk, there she was, curled into a ball asleep. Smiling to myself, I poked her. Nothing. I poked again. Nothing. This time I shook her. Which she jumped up right away, hitting her head on the underside of the desk.
"I'm up! Ow"
I waved at her.
"Oh, Jay, you're here."
She jumped up and grabbed a cup that was sitting her desk and chugged the remaining unseen liquid.
"Okay, okay, Jay, soithinkihavealeadonthiscase. You see...Oh, whydidntyoutellmecoffeehadagreatenergyboost. Itsgrossbut, WOW. AMITALKINGTOFAST? ICANTE...."
I plucked the cup from her hands, in which she gave me a confused look.
"We are going to take a little break, and then you're going to explain to me what you found."
She nodded excitedly.
~After awhile~
She seems to have calmed down. I gave her another water bottle.
"So, what did you find?"
"I think I connected these cases to one from 10 years ago."
I looked at her, shocked.
"How?"
"Call everyone in, and I'll explain."
And with that, she kissed my cheek and walked out of her office. Leaving me as confused as ever.
Kimora's POV
Once everyone was in the main office, I began to explain my discovery.
"So far, we have 6 victims on the board. All ranging from ages 16- 29. All of them have no relation with each other. So that shows that the murder isn't interested in a type but catching attention. So, first victim, an American visiting. Then a model. Next, a High Schooler, then another model. Now just looking at these four and can already tell you this is a story being told. And that's where I bring in a case from 10 years ago..."
I turned to grab a picture from my desk and slapped it onto the board.
"Miranda Choi. I know some of you think I'm just obsessing over this case, but trust me."
Jay looked at me, concerned. I smiled and continued.
"I started modeling at age 15. At the time, Miranda was already modeling. The day she died, I was 16."
I pointed at Lee Minah's picture.
"Lee Minah was just 16 years old. I went back to her parents, and they told me that she became interested in modeling."
Next, I pointed at the 20-year-old Japanese model.
"Miranda Choi had just turned 20 and was murdered. This model turned 20, two months before coming to Korea with her sister, who happens to be 16."
Lastly, the recent victim.
"Now the recent victim was the connection to this all. She is 29 years old, the same age as Miranda, if she was still alive."
Kwon cuts me off.
"But how. How does this connect?"
I pulled out a photo and stuck it to the board. It showed Miranda in the exact suit, in the exact position, and the exact place.
"This was the very first photoshoot I witnessed. And..."
I put another photo up.
"Miranda gave me that suit, which I wore on my third day here."
Then I walked over to my desk and grabbed something, which I held up
"And this is the exact bracelet that I gave to her on her 20th birthday. The same bracelet that wasn't found on her body when she died, but it was found today on this victim."
I opened the little heart-shaped locket from the bracelet, and inside was a photo of Miranda and me. It captured the day I had my first shoot. Miranda and I took a selfie to remember that day.
"I believe... that I am his intended target."

Chapter 11
(Mature Rated.) If you don't want to, Skip it.
Kimora's POV
I felt myself become weightless as Jay stood taller, but I wanted to feel closer. So I wrapped my legs around his hips. His arms secured me at my waist. We never let our lips stop what they were doing. I felt Jay moved because the room temperature changed, and the next thing I was on the bed. Where we disconnected from one another. My chest was rising and lowering, trying to catch my breath. I finally took notice of Jay's upper half. He wasn't wearing a shirt, and his toned tan skin mirrored the same actions as me. He crawled over me and between my legs to captured my lips again. As we fought once more, I wanted to be yet again closer. I started rubbing my body against his trying to feel as close as possible to him. Jay reached down to the hem of my sweatshirt and pulled upwards. Our lips disconnecting for a moment before latching together again. Minutes, maybe hours had gone by, when I felt my skin began to heat up from his heated touch. It was like a small fire was being left wherever he touched. His lips finally gave way from mine, only to attack my sensitive neck. Every kiss produced a soft mewl from me, but once I felt his heated hands on my breast, I couldn't control the moans from tearing through the silence. It didn't help that he had a skillful mouth as he moved it to my breast. I felt myself become more and more excited as he worked his magic, but the pressure was too much, and I wanted more. I grabbed at his hair and pulled him back to my lips. A quick kiss and I moved my lips to his ear.
"I want you."
Jaehwa's POV
I could taste the saltiness of her sweat that was slowly producing from her skin as I kissed her breast. As I was about to move to the next one, I felt her grab my hair and pull me up to kiss her. She released my lips and moved them towards my ear.
"I want you."
Something snapped in me, and I sat up to rip her leggings from her skin. She must have been startled from the yelp that left her lips. I dove back in to kiss her before moving down to her clothed heat. With a flat tongue, I brushed against her heat. She arched her back and groaned. I teased her bundle of nerves with the tip of my tongue and felt her shake.
"Take them off. I want to taste you."
I pulled away from her; you could see the frustration in her eyes because I stopped. She hooked her thumbs into the band and shimmied them off. I guess she was upset because she threw them at my face. I chuckled at her childish self and took them off. She kept her legs closed, and I ran my hand up and down her thighs to make her happy again.
"Come on, baby. I'm sorry."
Her foot came in contact with my swollen bulge, releasing a deep groan from my lips.
"Take these off."
Her toes played with the string of my sweats. So I stood up from the bed and pulled them down along with my boxers. I looked down at myself; it's been a while since I was intimate with someone. I looked up at Kimora, who's eyes grew big at the sight of me. I crawled back into the bed to kiss her cheeks.
"We don't have to continue."
"No! I...I.I want to, it's... It's just been a while."
"You've done it before?"
I saw her turn red but nodded.
"My first time was in College. You'll be my second."
I kissed her lips.
"I'm honored."
Kimora's POV
Jay reached over to his drawer and pulled out a condom. After putting in on, he aligned himself at my entrance.
"We can stop if you're uncomfortable."
I shook my head and grabbed his hand. He slowly guided himself through my heat. I could feel him stretch out my tightness with his considerable girth. He was equally in circumference as was length. Once fully inside, he leaned forward to kiss my neck as I adjusted to his size. I didn't realize that the second man I would sleep with would be much bigger than my first. It was like having my first time again. Once I felt comfortable, I brought our intertwined hands to my lips to kiss his knuckles.
"Okay."
With that, he slowly pulled back his hips. The girth dragging along my walls sent electricity up my back. I couldn't help but moan. Once again, he entered, filling me again, but this time more pleasurable. Every stroke from him turned me into a moaning mess. Jay then grabbed my leg and placed it on his shoulder, causing him to enter a deeper part of me. Through this, we never let go of our hands. I was a screaming mess; I'm pretty sure his neighbors will come knocking soon. His speed increased, and he seemed to reach the deepest part of me. I felt the knot in my stomach, and the pleasure was just too much for me. With the next couple of thrusts, I came undone. Jay, on the other hand, was still going. My hypersensitive body shook as his thrust speed to an inhuman speed. The knot building again.
"I'm... s..so close, Diamond."
"Same here. Don't...don't...st..stop!"
With his free hand, he somehow managed to find my clit. He began to rub it to see my body contoured in pleasure.
"Baby, come with me."
At his words, the knot, once again unraveled. Sending me into a wailing scream of pleasure. His moan overpowered by my cry could only be heard because he was right next to my ear. I felt him pulsing inside of me, which sent my body into a spazzing fit every time he pulsed.
Jaehwa's POV
"Baby, come with me."
At my word, I felt her tighten around my length as her body twisted in pleasure. The tightness caused me to release, and I mean hard. The sudden release prompted me to blackout as I laid on top of her. The small twitching of her body brought me back from the blackout. I sat up and removed myself from her.
"Jay, you're bleeding!"
I looked at her frantic body as she quickly grabbed some tissues from my nightstand and put it on my nose. I pinched it to stop the bleeding.
"Do you always get a bloody nose after sex?"
"No, it's just been a while since I had sex. And you are for sure in your youthful days."
She gently slapped my arm.
"You're like 6 years older than me."
"Exactly youthful."
After my episode, we cleaned up and snuggled into bed. She wrapped her arm around my chest, and I brushed my fingers through her hair. Soon I could hear her soft snores, indicating that she was asleep. Before closing my eyes, I pressed a kiss to her forehead and went to sleep.
"Goodnight, Diamond."

Chapter 10
Kimora's POV
After our little confession session, we stood up and was about to head out. Just then Jay stopped me.
"Listen, I don't want the guys to know about this just yet. They know I'm not great at relationships and if they found out about us. They'll make fun of me and I need..."
I kissed him once again to shut him up.
"I understand."
He smiled and opened the door. Right when...
"Detective Oh... And Detective Diamond? What...What are you guys doing in the storage closet? Diamond, why are you out of the apartment?"
Officer Kwon had just walked by right when Jay opened the door.
"Umm... She came to tell me something important. Also, she's back on the case."
Jay quickly mumbled and ran off, leaving a shocked Kwon and me.
"You're back on the case?"
"I guess so."
I walked back with Kwon to the office. Upon entering, I was bombarded by fellow members of the station. Everyone came in to hug me. All were walling and crying.
"Oh, Detective Diamond. You're back."
"We missed you so much."
I was so touched by their comments.
"Guys, thank you for missing me so much. But we should really focus on the case."
They all pulled away and wiped their faces.
"So what have I missed?"
"Nothing. You shouldn't be here Detective Diamond."
I turned to see the Commissioner. I fell to my knees.
"Sir, I understand your concern about my safety. But I was sent here to assist you in your case. Even if my life depends on it, I want to help in any way. Please let me."
He huffed
"I did say you were a tough gal. Don't make me regret my decision."
I bowed.
"Thank you, Sir."
After a long day at work. We were able to identify Mr. Min and add him to the list of victims. I sat in a chair and looked at all the information we had on the board. Photos of each victim, photos of me, all the threat letters I received but no leads on the killer at all. As I sat and thought to myself, I felt a presence near. I turned to see Jay sitting on the desk behind me.
"What are you doing?"
"You looked deep in thought and I didn't want to disturb you."
I stood and walked over to him. Everyone else was gone, so I felt comfortable with him. I walked between his legs and draped my arms around his shoulders. He placed his hands on my waist.
"I still don't want you on this case, you know that right?"
"Yeah, but what choice do you have? I'm always going to get involved."
He smiled and pulled me down for a kiss.
"Come on Diamond. Let's go home."
He drove us home and we entered his apartment.
"SHOWER!"
I ran right past him and into the bathroom. Next, I heard knocking on the door
"You better not use all the hot water."
"I won't. Plus I like cold showers."
"Maybe I can join you and steam it up."
"In your dream. You'll have to buy me a drink first."
"Why, you're already in my home and sleeping in my bed."
I couldn't think of anything else. He had a point. I was crashing at his place for the time being.
"No."
Jaehwa's POV
"You better not use all the hot water."
"I won't. Plus I like cold showers."
"Maybe I can join you and steam it up."
"In your dream. You'll have to buy me a drink first."
"Why, you're already in my home and sleeping in my bed."
She fell silent after that. I knew I got to her but still waited for a response.
"No."
And with that, I walked away. I walked into my room and grabbed some clothes for tomorrow then grabbed a pair of sweats. I've always hated sleeping in shirts because I tend to get hot really quick. I sprawled out on my bed, waiting for Kimora to get out. I closed my eyes when I hear a crash from the bathroom. Jumping up, I quickly made my way to the door.
"Kimora are you okay?"
There was no response.
"Kimora!"
Nothing.
"I'm going to bust the door open."
Just when I was about to ram the door.
"I'm fine. I'm fine. I just slipped... Just give me a minute."
A couple of minutes later she stepped out. Wet hair, oversized sweatshirt, and leggings. I looked her over and saw no markings on her.
"What happened?"
"I guess there was some soap that I didn't see and happened to step in it when coming out."
She smiled and walked from me. I grabbed my clothes and walked inside the bathroom. Turning on the water, I walked around to make sure there wasn't anything that could have scared her. No bugs, no random pictures, nothing. I wonder what made her jump? After my shower, I walked back into the room. She was sitting away from the door, facing the window. I walked around, but she seemed to be in a daze. Blankly staring off at nothing. I sat in front of her and still no movement. So I moved my hand to place it on her's.
"Kimora."
She jumped and pulled her hand away from mine. Looking into her eyes, there was a state of shock writing in them. She quickly stood up and walked towards the windows. I could hear her breath as she tried not to cry and calm down.
"Kimora, what's wrong? And don't lie to me saying that it's nothing."
I walked behind her and embraced her.
"I was supposed to be here for a month. Get here, help solve the case and leave. It's been a month and a half, and I ended up being a target in a mass serial killing. I was supposed to help the Choi's with the arrangements of Miranda's Death for her 10th anniversary. I forgot everything and lost myself in this case that I can't even be there for her."
Miranda was her best friend if I remember. She was murdered, guessing 10 years ago, and never solved.
"When is her anniversary?"
"In four weeks. On Friday. We were going to have a really nice Memorial for her in honor. She was amazing. You would have liked her."
I wrapped my arms around her and placed my chin on the top of her head as we looked out the window. She snuggled into my hard chest as I brushed her hair out of view.
"Let's go to bed."
I turn from her and went to head to bed when she pulled on my arm.
"Wait."
I looked back at her when she pulled my head down to made contact with my lips. We fought for dominance as both of our tongues invaded each other's mouth. I was beginning to feel cramp. My tall stature compared to her shorter self was bringing pain to my neck. So I stood taller, bringing her off the floor to wrap her legs around my hips. Once stable I wrapped my arms around her slim waist and walked to my bedroom.

Chapter 9
Kimora's POV
When I woke up, I was alone in the apartment. He left the apartment without saying anything. So here I was in his apartment by myself.
"What should I do? I can't go out cause I don't have a way to get back in."
I sat on the couch and thought to myself.
Maybe I can clean. No his apartment looks like no one's ever been in here.  Maybe I could cook something or bake.
I walked over to his kitchen and opened every cabinet and drawer.
"I guess he is a Lone Wolf. He has absolutely nothing in this kitchen."
I walked out of the empty kitchen to sit back on the couch. When I walked down the hallway, I saw picture frames along the wall. One had a picture of Jay and his mom. Another had him receiving his Police Academy Diploma. As I made my way down to the last one. It showed a young man and a very small Jay. In the corner showed the year 1998.
"He must have been 12 at the time."
I continued to look at the photo. It looks to be at a small fishing company. I guess his father was a fisherman. Once done, I sat back down on the couch and flipped the TV on.
"Last night murder was a horrible scene. Waring these images may be disturbing to some viewers."
Images of what looked like Mr. Min flashed across the screen. Then the place where it happened. My eyes grew wide as the image of the burning body stood exactly where the image of Jay's father and him stood. I quickly got dressed and headed to the station.
Jaehwa's POV
How did this guy find out about my father's death and where he worked? I stared at the photos that lined the boards in front of me. The unknown victim was to scar to tell who he was but we were able to reconstruct a digital photo to see what he would look like. I stood up to get some coffee when a flash of brown ran past me. I jumped from the surprise than I felt someone grab my hand and pull me off. Everything when by so fast, once we stopped, I was in a closet with someone. And that someone was the last person I wished to see right now.
"Diamond, what are you doing here?"
"Jay please listen to me. I know....."
"No, I'm getting Kwon to take you back. You shouldn't be out."
I grabbed her arm and began to pull but I felt a pull. I slipped and somehow ended on the floor with her on top of me. She had pulled me down and pinned me to the floor. I was shocked. Did she really just dragged me to the floor and she easily has me pinned.
"Jay!"
I looked her in the eyes.
"I know who the victim is. You got to put me back on the case. Please. I can help. Plus what's the point of keeping me safe, if you're here and I'm in a room all alone."
"You got a point but no. I'm not risking your life."
I was able to sit up, her in my lap, as we faced each other. She had tears in her eyes
"Jay isn't this what police officers do to protect the people. We risk our lives to save them. So what if I get hurt. At least I know once I'm gone, he'll stop. He won't..."
I hugged her so tightly. The way she spoke, sounded as if she wanted to die. I could feel her tears soak through my shirt.
"I can't let you go. Not now, not ever."
I couldn't let her go, I won't let her go. I'll hold on to her here until we both die. I felt tears build up in my eyes as I continued to embrace her. I lost track of how long we sat there but I didn't want it to end. She pulled away and held my face.
"Jay, I understand your feelings. But I want this to stop as much as you do. And hiding won't help stop him. We need to work together."
I looked her in the eyes and saw tears running down her face. I grabbed her neck and pulled her against me. Lips making contact at the moment. I kissed her and hard. I don't know what came over me, but I poured all those confusing feelings I had for her. What I was feeling was love. I loved her so much that I let my feelings get in the way of solving this case. I only thought of protecting her. I became selfish by my own feelings that I neglected my duties as a detective. During this kiss, I made sure she understood where I was coming from. I wanted her to know that my heart only belongs to her. I pulled from the kiss just slightly. Our breath mixing with each other. From my angle, I saw her lust-filled eyes with tears falling from them. Her now swollen lips. I could feel her heartbeat against my chest. She pulled me closer as she laid her forehead against my neck.
"I think I'm in love with you."
She spoke in such a soft and frail voice. If it wasn't just the two of us, I probably wouldn't have heard it.
"I know I'm in love with you."

Chapter 8
Kimora's POV
I was sitting in the car with Kwon as Officer Jung went in to get my stuff. I couldn't speak, seeing the Commissioner like that. Why is he targeting me? Just how much trouble am I in? Why was Jay so worried? I looked out the window trying to answer the questions that bounced all around my head.
"You know, I've never seen Jay act like this."
I was pulled back by the voice of Kwon.
"He must really care for you."
"I mean we're partners, so I understand."
"No, he's never acted this way about a girl before. He's been in relationships before but they never ended right. It looked like each girl he dated broke him down more and more. I believed he would never talk to a girl again, but then you showed up. That day we meet and you slammed me into that desk. That was the first time I heard a true laugh from that man."
I leaned forward.
"I'm sorry about slamming you into that desk, InTak."
"It's fine. You taught me that sometimes we need a woman in these jobs. They seem to see things that us men struggle to see. So thanks."
I nodded and leaned back into the seat. A couple minutes later, Jung walked down with my suitcase. He put it in the trunk and hopped in.
"I didn't mean to be noisy but.."
He pulled out all the mail I've kept from the murder. I lied about not getting mail to everyone. I held my head in shame.
"This wasn't the first time he's sent you something. There has to be at least a dozen letters. We have to tell Oh."
"He knows about one of them but not all or the other pictures."
I heard both let a sigh out as Kwon started the car and drove off. An hour later we arrived at a really nice looking apartment complex. I got out of the car and followed the two officers. Kwon swiped his ID card and the doors opened up. Once in, we stood by the elevators. He inserted a key and the elevator opened. We stepped on and it took us to the 11th floor. The elevator looked to open on both sides, which we stepped off the opposite side that we stepped on. Down the hallway, multiple doors lined both sides. Officer Jung leaned towards my ear.
"The scan reads the key and you take the elevator, which opens both sides, to the side your apartment is on. So he only has to deal with about 8 other people."
"That's really cool."
We walked to the end of the hallway to room 1112 and unlocked it and walked in. It was small but maybe because he lives alone. I sat on the couch as Kwon and Jung checked the rooms.
"So why do you have his key?"
"He made copies. Told us that if the day comes, he wanted us to have first dibs on anything we want."
I nodded.
"Look, Kimora. Get some rest. You look like hell. We'll be here till Jaehwa shows up."
I guess the words put a spell on me before he could finish, I was already asleep.
Jaehwa's POV
I was looking at all the pictures of Kimora. This man knew everything about her. When she got here. Where she was staying. Even knew where we went last night. He's stalking her but why? I ran a hand through my hair and stood from the chair I was sitting in.
"Sir, that test came back."
The runner gave me a file.
"So it was just fish's blood. What about the box? Any fingerprints?"
He shook his head no.
"Sorry, Sir. It was completely clean. Not even the photos had prints."
I nodded signaling him away. I put the file down and grabbed my bag and jacket. Walking out of the building and to my car. I saw a letter between my wipers.
'So Big Shot. Taking my Diamond away. Well, I have a nice surprise for you. Better go get it.'
There was a picture of a fire. But what was in the center set me off. There was a man stake to a pole. And I knew this place all to well.
"All units to the South Side of..."
Kimora's POV
For some reason, I wanted to wake up. I opened my eyes to see Jay and Intak talking.
"Was everything alright?"
"There was another one. The only difference was it was a male this time."
"Is he threatening you?"
"I believe he's trying to show dominance. Showing that he can only come in contact with her."
I wanted to cry. This wasn't supposed to happen. I heard them get closer, so I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.
"She fell asleep on the couch. I'm going home."
"Thanks again for this."
"Yeah yeah."
I heard the door shut but kept my eyes shut. I could hear Jay's steps get closer to me. Then I felt something soft be placed over me.
"I know you're not sleeping."
I opened my eyes to see Jay right in front of me. I sat up and asked him a question.
"Was there another murder? Who was the victim?"
"You don't need to know."
"Jay, I'm in this too. I deserve to..."
"You're not. You're off the case. You no longer need to worry about what's happening out there. You need to worry about yourself."
He stood up and walked into the kitchen. I stood and ran after him.
"Jay, if I stand in the shadows in fear, what good does that bring me. I should be out there, helping in solving this case. I can show that I'm not afraid. I can stand up to his thre...."
"But I'm afraid."
He slammed his hand on the counter which made me jump.
"Listen, I feel something in my chest when I'm with you. And knowing that someone is trying to get to you, scares me. You may be able to stand up to his threats but don't forget who's watching it all."
He walked up to me and placed his hands on my face.
"I hate this as much as you don't but I want you safe."
I felt him move closer. I knew where it leads to next, and I wanted it so badly. Just when I thought it was going to happen, he pulled away.
"You can have my bed. I'll sleep on the couch."
And with that, he walked from me. I walked into the bathroom to look myself in the mirror. My eyes were puffy from all the crying I've been doing. I splashed my face and walked out. Staring over my shoulder I saw Jay sleeping on the couch. His back was facing me. I shuffle to his room. There was a queen-size bed with a navy comforter and pillows. Curling into a ball, his scent made its way to my senses. And for the first time, sleeping alone hurt me more than ever.

Chapter 7
Jaehwa's POV
I walked into the building to see those three dipwads fighting.
"Yay!"
"We're sorry."
They stopped what they were doing and bowed to me. I shook my head and headed to the elevators. As I got closer, I saw Kimora standing there. The doors opened and she stepped on. I ran as fast as I could and stuck my hand in before they could close.
"Man good thing I caught this elevator. Good morning, Diamond. How did you sleep last night?"
She didn't look me in the eye but I think I saw some pink on her cheeks. I stared at her as she blanked out. I was thinking of waving my hand in her face when she suddenly slapped herself. The slap took me by surprise and when she made eye contact with me, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was running through her mind and wanted to know what. Before I could open my mouth, she was already out of the doors and in her office. I chuckled and walked off.
"Good morning Oh. What's up with Diamond?"
I laughed and shook my head side to side.
"I don't know InTak. She is always so surprising."
Kwon InTak's POV
I've never seen Jay smile so much because of a girl.
Jaehwa's POV
A couple of minutes later, Kimora stepped out with a box in hand.
"Umm, Kwon did you see who delivered this?"
"The mail did. Why?"
"Oh, nothing."
She sat the box down. It must be heavy. I stood up and walked over to her. Maybe I'll give her a little jump. I stood behind her and whispered in her ear.
"So, why you acting weird?"
So I didn't know she had pulled her pocket knife out and when she jumped, she was quick to turn the knife's edge towards me. But I was fast to jump back with my hands up.
"Oh Jaehwa, don't scare me when I have a weapon in hand."
"Sorry, I'll keep that in mind."
She turned back around and I just walked away. I have some files to take care of. And I also...
BOOOOOOM!!!!
I fell to the ground as the office was painted in a splatter of some red substance.
"What was that?"
I looked up to see thousands of photos float slowly down. One landed right in front of me. It was from last night. When Kimora feed me that wrap. Quickly I looked for her. She was shaking uncontrollable and crying. I ran over to her and picked her up. She immediately put her face in the crease of my neck. Once she knew it was me, her arms wrapped around me tightly.
"Why me?"
"Kwon, gather all those pictures and put them into evidence and get that substance identified. I'm taking her somewhere to calm down."
"Yes, Sir."
I walked out of the room and to an interrogation room. It was a quiet and secluded place for her to come down.
She wouldn't let me go. So I sat in a chair with her on my lap. I stroked her head as her tears ran dry and all that was left was her soft sniffles. I pulled her off me to look at her. She had that red substance everywhere. I sat her down in a chair and walked out. I ran to the locker room and grabbed my gym clothes and some paper towels. Upon coming back, Kimora had taken off her jacket. She looked so scared. I walked over to her and squatted down, reaching up I went to move a strand of hair away. When she jumped and slapped my hand. I could see fear etched into her eyes.
"I'm sorry."
Her breath picked back up and a wave of tears form at the rim of her eyes but didn't let them fall. I began to wipe the blood from her face.
"Why again?"
I heard under her breath.
"What do you mean again?"
She bit her lip and turned her head slowly.
"Has this happened before? Kimora you need to tell me. I can protect you. I'm not going to let anything happen to you."
She nods her head.
"The night of Min-ah's murder. I received a letter. They wrote that he didn't like how close you were getting to me. Also, all the riddles that we get are from the same person. Jay, I didn't want to tell you because I was scared of you getting hurt."
Tears ran down her face again. I just embraced her. Why does my heart beat so much when I'm around her. I pulled away
"Okay, let's get you into some clean clothes."
I lead her to the locker room and then the showers. I handed her my gym clothes and body wash. I stood outside the shower room but stayed in the locker room. After awhile, she poked her head out.
"Umm... Do you have a towel?"
I felt my face heat up. I could only imagine her stand behind the wall freezing naked. I grabbed my towel and walked over to her. I extended my arm and turned my head. Once the towel was gone, I sat back down. Seconds later she came out wearing my sweats. She looked so cute in my clothes. What the heck, Jaehwa. Calm yourself. We went back to the office to see three boards (like those big whiteboards you see in a classroom) full of pictures of Kimora. The Commissioner was present as well.
"We covered the ones that showed nudity, to respect."
"Thank you."
Kimora looked at all the photos of herself. Ones of her sleeping. Ones of her in the shower. Even ones of her getting dressed. I felt anger boil in my stomach. How can someone do this? As I vented in my head. Kwon and the Commissioner walked up to me.
"Sir, we didn't want her to see this one."
He handed me one of the photos. There Kimora was sleeping in her bed with a man dressed in black standing above her as she slept. The date stamp shows that this happed last night. I took a deep inhale. Just when I was about to open my mouth.
"Kimora, you're off the case."
"What?"
"What?"
I looked over at the Commissioner.
"You will be removed from this case. Also, you will no longer stay in that hotel."
"Then where will..."
"Detective Oh, you have a pretty small and well-secured apartment. You will move in with Jaehwa until we find better living arrangements. Officers Kwon and Jung escort her back to that hotel. You will remove all of her things and move to the apartment. Is that understood?"
"Yes, Sir."
"Jaehwa, what's going on?"
She went to reach towards me.
"You are not longer a Detective in a case. You are now a target and I will not see that happening. Kwon, Jung, please escort her out."
They gently removed her from the office. She wouldn't stop staring at me as she left. Once she was gone I looked at the remaining officers.
"We will do everything to ensure the safety of Detective Diamond. Is that clear?"
"Yes, Sir!"
I bowed to the Commissioner as he left. Once gone, I was about to walk back to my desk when the phone in her office rang. I answered it.
"Did you enjoy my little surprise? I have so many coming up before the big reveal. Just you wait, my beautiful Diamond..."
"Listen hear, you bastard. You will not get to her in any lifetime. Do you understand?"
"Mmm, Detective Oh. Taking the fun out I see. Ha. Just know this..."
His voice went to a whisper.
"...I already have."
Beep beep beep beep.
I slammed the phone back on its receiver.
Killer's POV
I laughed as I hung up the phone. Throwing it into a fire that we just made.
"Come out boys. The puzzle pieces are falling into place."
"What about him?"
I turned around looking at that damn front desk assistant.
"Burn him alive."
And with that, I walked away.

Chapter 6
Kimora's POV
"And I was like, 'Sir, put the breadstick down."
I laughed so hard at the story Jay was telling me. You know for someone who literally runs the Department. He's a really cool guy.
"So Diamond. I have a question. What do you think your modeling career would be like if that day never happened?"
"Well... I think I would still be doing it. I don't know really. It was a lot of fun and I was able to make a lot of new friends. Oh and travel! I traveled across the country and even to other countries. It was so amazing. All new sights and experiencing different cultures. It was... Oh my. I'm just babbling."
I felt heat rise to my cheeks as I covered my mouth.
"I like when you babble."
Jay reached over and pushed a strand behind my ear. I looked him in the eyes and he quickly drew his hand back.
"Uh.. well. I..I want to show you how to make a proper lettuce wrap."
I swear I saw a hint of red on his face. I watched as he assembled meat onto a piece of lettuce and added something but was quick to fold it up before I could see.
"Here. Open wide."
I raised an eyebrow at him. He just opened his mouth to demonstrate what I should do. So I did. He popped the wrap into my mouth. The part I bite into was just the meat. It was so delicious until I felt some heat punch me in the mouth. I opened my mouth in disbelief and coughed. Jay, on the other hand, was laughing so hard, he choked on his spit.
"Oh my gosh, Jay! Hell, I like spicy but that was too much."
I grabbed my glass of water and chugged it down. After my coughing fit, I made a wrap and put, even more, chili paste in it. I folded it and held it in front of his mouth.
"I'll eat it, under one condition."
"What?"
"Call me Oppa as you feed it to me."
He had a smug look on his face.
"No."
"Then have fun paying."
He was about the stand-up.
"No. Fine."
He sat back down and place his chin in his hands as they rested on the table. I took a deep breath and sighed.
"Oppa, please eat the wrap I made for you."
I felt my face go red but he opened his mouth. I pushed the overly stuffed wrap into his mouth. Moments later, nothing.
"I like spicy food."
I shoved his shoulder and pouted. He just laughed. We talked for what seemed like hours.
"So, how old are you to be my Oppa?"
"I'm 32."
I stared at him in shock.
"There's no way. Seriously? Wow, you look good for 30."
Then I realized what I said.
"I mean... There's just a lot of...Of men out there. Who..."
He placed his finger over my mouth.
"Listen I know you wish to confess your undying love for me but I'm too dedicated to work to love anyone."
I pushed his hand away.
"Ok, Shakespeare."
He laughed then stood up.
"Come on. It's late. I'll take you home."
After paying we hopped into the car and he drove me home.
"Bye. See you tomorrow."
I waved goodbye and walked through the doors.
"Back late I see, Miss. Diamond. Make sure you're careful out there."
"Thank you Mr. Min. Have a nice night."
~Pleasure. Pleasure was all I was feeling. Calloused hands running down my thigh. As sparks of pleasure shot up my spine. My hands reach down to grab a head full of hair. As the pleasure intensified between my legs, I couldn't help but throw my head and call out a wail. Trying to catch my breath, I felt trails of kisses travel up my body. Passed my breasts to my neck then my jaw. I opened my eyes as the man's face comes to view. It was~ BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP... BEEP BEEP BEEP... I shot up from my sleep. Not caring about my alarm.
"Did I just have a sex dream with Jay?"
*At the Station.
I walked in as usual. Greeting the three young men, who're names I recently found out.
"Hello Minguk, Jinsoo and Sungmin. How are you today?"
"Fine, now that you showed up."
All of their ears were red as their faces. I walked over to Jinsoo and ruffled his hair and walked away.
"See she likes me the best."
Slapping sounds could be heard but this is how they are every day. I stood by the elevators, waiting for it to come down. I got the strangest feeling in my stomach but pushed it aside. The elevator's doors opened and I stepped in. Just as the doors were closing, a hand shot in, opening up to Jay's face. I felt my face heat up and quickly looked down.
"Man good thing I caught this elevator. Good morning, Diamond. How did you sleep last night?"
The images from my dream popped back into mind. How his rough hands traced my body. How his mouth did... I slapped myself in the face. Forgetting where I was I quickly made eye contact with a very confused Jaehwa. Then the elevator dinged, signaling we've arrived.
"Good Morning."
I quickly ran off the elevator and straight to my office. Shutting the door I pressed my back against the oak door and slide down it.
"Stupid. You could've acted like normal but no you have to embarrass your sorry butt."
I lifted my head to see a medium-size box on my desk. Standing up, I walked over to it. There was no return address but my name was printed very nicely on it. I grabbed it and walked out of my office.
"Umm, Kwon did you see who delivered this?"
"The mail did. Why?"
"Oh, nothing."
I sat it on the closest desk to me. It was heavy. Grabbed my pocket knife, I was about to cut it open.
"So why you acting weird?"
I turned the knife to the close voice, only to see Jay with his hands up.
"Oh Jaehwa, don't scare me when I have a weapon in hand."
"Sorry. I'll keep that in mind."
He smiled and I turned back to the box. I cut the top piece when...
BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
I was thrown back against the desk behind me and splattered with something.
"What was that?"
I opened my eyes to see thousands and thousands of photos floating around. On them were dozens of photos of me. I began to shake as I looked at all the photos, some of me walking into the building, some of me in my bathroom, me sleeping, photos of last night with Jay. Not only were the pictures freaking me out, but I was covered in what seems to be blood. I wrapped my arms around myself and fell to my knees. I couldn't stop the tears from falling. Why? Why me? This was all in the past. What does he want with me?
"Kimora!"
I felt arms scoop me up and I put my face into their neck. I could smell Jay's cologne and it made me feel safe. I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried.
"Why me?"

Chapter 5
Kimora's POV
Jay dropped me off at my hotel and drove off. I walked through the doors and waited by the elevators.
"Miss Diamond."
I turned to see the front desk assistant, Mr. Min. He had a big smile on his face and something in his hand.
"A...A letter came in for you."
"Thank you."
I took the letter right when the elevator made it down. I turned and bumped into a man who was coming out in a hurry. I watched as he quickly walked out of the building. I stepped on and pushed the button for floor 8. After the short ride, I stepped off and walked over to my room, 815. Unlocking the door, I walked in and made sure to re-lock it once I was in. I sat the letter down on the table and walk into the bathroom to shower. I stripped out of my dirty clothes and hopped into the cool shower. Washing away the remainder of today, sweat, dirt, blood. I felt human again. I stepped out and wrapped a towel around me and walked out of the bathroom to the bedroom. I found my favorite shorts and a big t-shirt. After I got dressed, I wrapped the towel around my head to dry off my hair. Walking over to my kitchen, I grabbed a quick snack only to see that letter.
"Forgot about you."
Grabbing the letter, I sat on the edge of my bed and opened it. Inside was a letter.
' I bet your heart is heavy right now...'
Knowing where we going, yes.
'...But today was a very eventful evening. I love watching your expressions as you slowly break down. I'll keep them forever. Also, I don't like the way he cares for you. I can take care of you much better.'
I glance inside the letter to see pictures. One of me walking into the Station this morning. Another showing me with Min-ah's blood on my face from the crime scene just this afternoon. But the last one made my heart race even more. It showed went Jay made me blush. His fingers on my chin, holding me there as he told me that I was cute. In shock I dropped the picture, to see writing on the back.
'I don't like him. He's too close.'
That night, I cried myself to sleep
Killer's POV
I watched as Kimora cried inside that guy's car. I saw her laugh at something he said. I don't like how close they're getting. Then they drove off. I hopped into my car and drove back to the warehouse I was living in.
"I'm home ladies."
There sat three beautiful women, of course not as beautiful as my Kimora. I had them bound and tape over their mouths.
"What dinner isn't ready again."
I squatted down to one of them.
"I'll let it pass."
"Boss, I did what you asked. The cameras are all set."
"Thank you. Now please get some food for these women. I heard they were very good girls. I think they deserve something."
I pat the girl's head.
"How about some shoppin'?"
*The Next Day
I woke up with puffy eyes. I couldn't sleep knowing that Jay is also in danger. I got up and got dressed. When I walked back into my room, the pictures and note were still laying out. So I put them into a drawer and left. I arrived at the station early. I sat at my desk and just stared. I thought about the events that just happened, the notes, the pictures, the threats.
"Good morning Diamond."
I snapped out of my trance to see Jay standing at the door with two cups in hand. He walked over and sat on my desk to hand the cup over. Inside was my favorite morning beverage, tea.
"How did..."
"I'm a Detective. Plus I've never seen you get coffee so I assumed."
He smiled at me with made me giggle. Come on, Kim. You can't get to close. I looked up at Jay to see him let out a long yawn.
"Long night?"
"Last night there was another call."
"What! Why didn't I..."
"I told them not to call you. You've been through a lot. And I wanted you to take it easy last night. So you can get mad at me."
"Oh. Who was the victim?"
"A 26-year-old woman from Thailand. She was beaten pretty badly. Maybe the cause of her death. No stab wounds but a needle mark on her neck. I'm having Ji-Yong run test to find the drug and see if it matches the other victims."
He hands me a photo. She was dressed in a nice Dress Suit and shoes.
"I really hope we catch him soon."
"Same."
I followed him out.
"Gentlemen and Lady. Here's what we know so far. The killer is male, most likely in his late 30's, early 40's. We also know he is Caucasian. He has targeted four victims by now and probably more to come. The victims, two 26-year-olds, a 20-year-old and a 16-year-old. All Females. Mostly likely trying to tell us something and upset we're not figuring it out fast enough. He wants us to know what he is doing or show someone why he is doing this. It's like he's doing this for show and tell. He has a goal set in mind. Also, be on the lookout for these three men."
Jay posts three photos up, showing three men, probably in their 30's.
"They have been known to be right at the moment of the crime scenes. Onlookers were able to inform us that they have seen them. So again look out for them."
It's been two weeks since the fourth victim. Guessing we were getting really close so now they're trying to head low. The creep mail had stopped since then and I was able to breathe again.
"Diamond want to go out with my friends and me? It's been a while since I've been out and I think you need one too."
Jay held out my jacket.
"How did you know I was going to say yes?"
"Body language."
He winked.
"Ok Great Detective Oh."
I grabbed my jacket from him and we walked out of the building to his car.
"Ugh, I'm so excited for some Barbecue. It feels like it's been ages since I've eaten out with friends."
I laughed at his statement. Then his phone went off.
"Hey man... Oh okay... Well, I hope she'll get better... Yay... No, it's fine..... Take care of her. I'll see ya some other time..... Okay... Bye. Well, they're not coming. My buddy's wife got sick and he's going to take care of her. Guess you're stuck with me."
"I don't mind."
I smiled as we drove off.

Chapter 4
Kimora's POV
On the way back, the car was silent. I couldn't think straight. Why a young girl like that? Is this even the same guy?  Killing then kidnapping? Why?
"You know, if you think too hard you'll gain wrinkles on your forehead."
Jay poked my forehead with his finger. Which I swatted away.
"How are you not stressing over this? This puzzle or whatever, doesn't make sense. First, a woman then he works his way down to younger. Or how do we even know it's the same person?"
I put my face in my hands as I leaned forward and sighed.
"Hey stressing over this isn't going to help with finding her. She needs you to have a clear mind so that you can find her. Okay?"
I looked over at Jay and nodded. After a while, we arrived at the cafe. This is where Mai works, maybe she'll have some information. We walked in and I was able to recognize Mai.
"Hey Mai."
"Kimora!"
She ran over and hugged me.
"What are you doing here? Wait, would you like something?"
"Actually... I'm in a leading investigation and I need to ask some questions."
I could feel the mood change.
*In the back
Mai was crying. Holding a tissue to her nose as she spoke.
"Min-ah was a wonderful worker. Everyone loved her. I don't know who would do such a thing."
"Has there been any strange things going on before her disappearance? Anything at all?"
"Well, there's been a man here. We open at 4 in the morning and I come in around 5:30. That man sits with his laptop until 6 o'clock. Then he leaves money on the table and leaves. He doesn't talk to anyone but I do remember Min-ah serving him for the past couple days. He's never been here before. I believe it's been three days but he didn't come in today."
"Thank you, Mai. If he shows up again please message me."
I handed her my cell number and headed out with Jay to the Station. As we walked in, those two young men were there again. When we walked by one of them nearly slipped out of his chair turning to keep up with me. We reached our office and opened the doors the see chaos. Paper everywhere, phones going off, etc. I sat at my desk in my office, unsure of what to do.
"Sir, we don't handle pets stuck in trees, please call the Fire Department." "Ma'am, did you file a report?" "I understand that you're husband was an officer but that was over 30 years ago. He no longer works here."
Jay came in with a bottle of water and sat on my desk.
"Is it always like this?"
"No. sometimes Mrs. Kim calls the see if her son is here."
I laughed at his attempt at humor.
"Ahh, Miss Diamond. Could we please have your autograph?"
I looked over to see the boys from the front desk holding out paper and pens in my direction.
"Guys just because she's an American Detective doesn't..."
"It's been a while since I've done anything. How do you guys know me?"
"My hyung grew up watching your shows and I would watch them with him. You are so beautiful in real life."
I giggled at his compliment and signed the blank sheet of paper. Jay sat on my desk in a pit of confusion
"So..Um. Jay, I us..."
"She was a beautiful model. Her beauty was known worldwide. No one could compare."
Then another spoke.
"And when she modeled with long-time friend, Choi Miranda. They could stop the world from spinning."
At the mention of Miranda's name, I felt my heart stop. The boys chatter slowly faded as memories flooded my mind. I felt that I was being dragged down a black hole, as all sound disappeared. I felt my lungs close up, my blood ran cold, my...
"Hey, Kimora!"
I snapped out of my trance, to see Jay staring down at me with a concerned look. I stood up fast a ran out of the room.
"Yay! Kimora!"
I ran hard. I don't know where but somewhere. I somehow ended behind the dumpsters on the side of the building. I crouched down and cried. The tears wouldn't stop. I don't know how long I was out there but I had stopped crying and was just sitting there.
"Ugh, this is so unprofessional."
"Yes, it is."
I looked up to see Jay standing in front of the alleyway. He walked over and sat beside me. We didn't talk, just sat in silence. We sat there for a while, but I silence was killing me.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have run out like that. I know this is very important but..."
"What made you want to become a Detective?"
I looked at him. His dark eyes bore into mine. It took me a moment but I spoke.
"My best friend was murdered and the killer was never caught. Almost 10 years and that bastard still roam the earth. I quit modeling and became a Detective so that I can put those monsters away. So that Miranda's file can be the last unsolved case. I'm tired of that box growing because we can't find the next clue."
I felt tears forming again as I slipped my angered heart to Jay. The next moment took me by surprise. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer to him. I laid against his chest as the smell of his cologne calmed my racing mind. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his chest. He moved his other arm around me and spoke.
"I understand how you feel. That's why we're going to catch this bastard and lock him up. I'm sure even catching one killer would make Miranda happy. She will know you tried your hardest. She would be proud."
The sound of his voice echoed throughout his chest and the vibration of his voice made me want to sleep. So, I pushed myself off of him to stare him in the eyes.
"Thank you. You didn't have to do all of this."
I went to stand up but he held me down. Looking me in the eyes, it felt like hours went by. He slowly brought his hand up and wiped away tears that had fallen from my cheeks.
"I know I didn't but I wanted too."
He stood up and help me up. We walked back into the building and got back to work.
Jay stood at the board with a marker in one hand, while holding files in the other. His necktie was loosened and hair tousled. I sat at my desk looking at the picture of Min-ah. She seems to be by a Creek or lake of some sort. But the photo was taken at night so any other details blended into the night.
"Excuse me, Miss. Diamond."
I looked up to see another young kid standing there with a pen and an old picture of me.
"I know what we said upset you but my hyung is a big fan and I would like to give this to him for his Birthday."
I smiled at took the picture. It was when I came to Korea for a shoot. It was at Lake Hope near the Seoul park. (I know this doesn't exist but I need something) I was just about to sign it when something stood out. I quickly typed in the name and search for photos. One was taken at night. I lifted the photo of Min-ah up to the night shot of Lake Hope. They matched.
"Hey, is it okay if I hold on to this photo? I believe it just helped in this case."
The young man nodded, bowed and walked away. So I ran over to Jay.
"Jay. I have a lead. I think I know where she's at."
Jay threw the items in his hands over to Officer Kwon and grabbed his coat and we're out the doors. We arrived at the front of the building when mail stopped us.
"Detectives there was a letter in Detective Diamond's box. No return address."
I grabbed it and thanked the man. We walked over to Jay's car and before getting in, I opened it.
'Congratulations on finding the girl but will you make it in time to save her? Before the night falls on Hope.'
"Jay, we need to hurry."
He flipped his sirens and pulled out of the parking lot. Once on the main street, we were stopped by traffic. There seems to be a car accident that's backed up all of the main street. Jay looked around.
"I know another route."
He pulled over the sideway and was able to make a right turn down a street. It was almost time for the Sun to set and we were almost there. The moment we arrived, there were so many people around the tree but we couldn't see why. I pushed through the crowds of people to see a girl in a red dress hanging from the tree.
"Nooooo!!!!!"
I don't know what can over me but I ran over to the body and wrapped my arms around her lower half to raise her up.
"Kimora stop!"
"No Jay. She could still be alive."
With me holding her up and adding more movement to the string, it snapped. Sending the body and me down. The back of her body brushed against my face and left something cold. That was then, I knew she was already gone. I turned the body over to see Lee Min-ah dead.
Jaehwa's POV
There were so many people blocking the entrance.
"Nooooo!!!!!"
I saw Kimora run past everyone and wrap her arms around the girl's body. When doing so the body faced us. She's gone. Damn it. I walked over to Kimora struggling to hold up the body.
"Kimora stop!"
When she turned to me, her face held fear and sadness.
"No Jay. She could still be alive."
And just like that, the rope snapped. Sending both Kimora and Min-ah down the small hill. When Kimora lifted her face and trail of blood was left. The red dress was a cover-up for the brutal stabbings the killer left. Making it seem like suicide. Kimora was in shock. I crawled down and approached her.
"Come on. Let's call the others."
I grabbed her hand and pulled her up. I made a quick call to the Station and informed them where we were. As I did that Kimora walked away from the scene. I glanced over at her. She was looking at her hands, covered in blood. I grabbed a napkin from my pocket and walked over to her.
"Diamond, this isn't your fault. We were just too late."
I grabbed her hand and began to wipe the blood from them.
"No, it is my fault."
"No it's..."
"NO JAY! IF I HADN'T WALKED AWAY WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN SEARCHING. She would still be alive."
Tears ran down her face as she pulled her hand from mine and walked away.
"Detective Oh."
Turning I saw Kwon running up to me. I looked over to see the others pushing back the crowd and forensic scientist with the body.
"What happened?"
I looked back at Kwon and explained everything. After we cleared the scene, I walked back to my car, only to see Kimora in it. She still had blood on her face and body. I opened the door and slid in. Reaching in the back I grabbed my gym bag. There was a towel in there. I poured some water on it and handed it to her. She looked at me than the towel.
"It's clean. I swear."
She grabbed it and began to wipe the blood from her face.
"Look, if this is too hard for you. I can ask the Commissioner to pull you off the case and send you home."
"No. I want to finish till the end."
"Then can I trust you as a partner?"
She looked at me and nodded.
"I'm sorry. I've been nothing but trouble but I want to help."
"Hey, you knew where she would be. You're finding things a lot faster than the other pigs."
She gave a weak giggle, but it was music to me.
"How did you know she would be here?"
She reached in her pocket and pulled out two photos, one the killer gave us and one with a younger-looking Kimora.
"When I was 15, I had a shoot out here. That tree was the same spot."
I looked at the picture than at her. Something doesn't feel right.
"How about I take you home."
"Please."

Chapter 3
Kimora's POV
The crime scene was cleaned up and everything went back to normal. The body was transferred for further information and people were questioned about the murder and his whereabouts. The victim's sister was moved to the Station where she could calm down and it was Jay and myself still checking for any missed details.
"Diamond, I'm going to check this cafe for the surveillance cameras to see if it picked up the killer's face."
I nodded. This is the second victim since coming here. But I can't seem to put the puzzle together to see why the murder would do it. So far the two women have no relationship. One is 26 years old, American and the other is 20 years old and Japanese. From what I know both are models. So are models being attacked or is it just for fun?
"Hey Diamond. So nothing on the cameras. It only caught the back of the guy's head. Like he knew where the cameras were set. Damn it!"
Jay kicked a trashcan over in frustration. I walked over to the can and picked it up, only to see something inside. A note. I picked it up and what I saw made me drop it. Blood, writing and a picture.
"Jay! Come here."
He ran over as I picked the letter up again to show him. It states:
'Well you found the third girl but can you find the second? She was so scared as I cut into her perfectly pale skin.'
"So there's another victim? But where? I'll call the station and get any information on any missing girls in the last 24 hours."
I stood there in shock. How could someone do this?
"Diamond."
I snapped out of my trance and looked at Jay
"Let's go."
We drove back to the Station. Upon entering, there was a mob of people standing outside. The mob of people were all news anchors, trying to get the information on the two women. We were able to sneak by without any of them noticing. When we walked in, there were two younger men at the front desk. Both seem to be new to the job. As we walked by, I overheard one of them.
"Hey isn't that Kimora Diamond?"
"Like the model, Kimora Diamond?"
"Yeah. That's her."
"Diamond come look at this."
I wasn't paying attention and bumped right into Detective Oh's back. When I pulled away, I saw the investigation board. There was very little information on it, even after posting the bloody letter and pictures from the crime scene this afternoon.
"Why can't I connect anything? It's like these killings are at random. Random times, random victims, and random techniques. Look at this."
He pulls out a piece of paper from a file.
"The first victim, Mary Madison, 26, had her wrists slit and was found in a river just outside of her home in the middle of the night. Stage set to seem like it was suicide until forensics found blunt force to the back of her neck and a needle mark on her right thigh. The second victim, a young Japanese girl, 20, murdered the middle of broad daylight with multiple stab wounds to her abdomen. I can't see a connection."
I looked at him as he ran his hand down his face, then back to the board. I glanced back at the note with the picture. The girl seems to be in high school, but there were no leads on a missing girl yet. They all look different so there's not a type of girl. He seems to be killing at random.
"Maybe there aren't any connections. Maybe he thinks this is all a game and that making us believe there's a connection and trying to figure it out. He already had the next victim planned out. He's a sick bastard that is killing for sport."
I was so angry at the thought. I can't seem to find the one piece that could help us.
"What about zooming in on the picture. Maybe we can identify the girl."
"Good idea."
Jay grabs the picture and a magnifying glass from his desk.
"Guessing the killer knew we'd do that. The name is ripped off...but the school is there."
He twisted over to his computer and typed in the name.
"Let's go, Diamond."
We ran out of the room and headed to the car. Once there we went straight to the front office and Jay asked for the attendance sheet.
"Good afternoon. I'm Detective Oh from Seoul PD and this is Detective Diamond. Today were there any young girls, between ages 14-18, absent?"
The desk receptionist answered.
"Yes, about 10 girls meet that requirements. Is there's something wrong?"
I grabbed Jay's hand before he could speak.
"No. We just have some questions for one of them and need names and photos to match. Do you have a Year Book or photo attendance sheet?"
She turns away and grabs a book then prints out the absent girl's names. Once she handed them to us, we nodded and walked away. At this time, I didn't realize I was still holding Jay's hand.
"You still going to hold my hand? I think we need drinks first before you drag me home."
I quickly let go of his hand as I felt some heat rise to my cheeks.
"Ugh, don't get so full of yourself."
I tried to look away but he was quick to hold my chin and stare into my eyes.
"Cute."
Then grabbed the files from my hand and walked away, leaving me frozen in my spot.
"Yay!!"
And I ran after him. We found ourselves sitting and a table looking at the photos. Trying to match the girl in the photo, to the ones of the girls who are absent today.
"Found her. Lee Min-ah."
She was the girl in the photo and her address was there as well.
*Sometime later
We were parked outside of the Lee's home.
"Let's go."
Both of us got out of the car and walked to the front door to knock. An older woman answered.
"Yes."
"Hello, Mrs. Lee. We're with Seoul PD. I'm Detective Diamond and this is Detective Oh. We have some questions about the whereabouts of your daughter, Min-ah."
"Oh, shouldn't she be in school right now? She told me that she was going to spend the night at her friend's house for the next couple of days. Why? Is there something wrong?"
"Ma'am, we think your daughter is involved in the mass killings of young girls. Yesterday afternoon, a note was found with a picture of her in it. We believe she's still alive but..." I quickly cut Jay off.
"Any information will be great. Was she acting differently in the past couple of days?"
"No, I don't believe so. She would come home after her job and would stay up late doing her homework. Oh, please don't tell me my baby is dead."
I put my hand on hers.
"We will try our best to bring her back. Where does she work?"
"At a small cafe called Seoul Cup."
Seoul Cup isn't that across from... I looked over at Jay.
"The Cafe across from the station. Thank you, ma'am. We will contact you if anything changes. Please rest assured we will try to bring her home."
And with that, we left.

Chapter 2
*Wednesday Morning:
Kimora's POV
I was now sitting on a plane to Seoul, South Korea. Maybe this trip could be good for me, maybe it will help clear up my head. I looked out the window to see the vastness of the Atlantic ocean. It's beautiful blue depths, unexplored and mysterious, shown flashes of the sun. Reflecting onto the plane, blinding anyone who looks. I shut the visor to block the sun and closed my eyes. I felt someone tapping my shoulder and I opened my eyes to see a young girl. She was a cute little thing, probably around age 16.
"Hi... Umm... I didn't want you to pass on.. umm.. flight stop to Seoul."
"I speak Korean. Thank you for waking me."
"Oh, well I hope you were able to understand what I said. I'm Park Mai. It's nice to meet you. Are you visiting?"
"It's nice to meet you as well. I'm Kimora Diamond and no. I'm a detective from NYPD and I'm being transferred to Seoul for a case."
"That sounds interesting. I wish you well in your case. And stop by my coffee shop from time to time. I work right across from the station."
"I will thank you."
"Hello and welcome to Seoul. We hope your fight was good and hope that you will fly with us again. Please watch your step as you exit the plane. Again welcome and have a great day."
I stepped out of the terminal and into the port. There were so many people, it felt just like New York.
"Now to the hotel then the Station."
I grabbed my stuff and headed out of the building to grab a cab. Suddenly I felt eyes on me. I looked in all directions, only to see nothing. I let out a breath, that I didn't even know I was holding and called for a cab. Once it came, I hopped in and told the driver to take me to my hotel. I arrived at my hotel, telling my driver to wait and checked in. I'm only going to be here for a month, so no need for an apartment. I unpacked my stuff then ran back down to the cab.
*1 Hour Later:
I arrived at Seoul Metropolitan Agency. I thanked the driver and paid before walking into the building. The first person I saw, was the first person I would talk to. It just so happens to be the Commissioner.
"Oh, you're the American Detective, correct?"
I nodded
"Follow me. I'm so glad that you were able to make it. We are having trouble with this recent case and hoped that you could help us. The victim is American but we can't access any records unless we ask from the US, but having an American come help and assist is even better. I'm sorry. I just talk and talk. I am Commissioner Jung Min-Woo. I've been here for almost 30 years now. I have the most elite team that you will be working with during this investigation."
He had been talking all this time, I didn't realize that we arrived at the door, until he stopped.
"I can tell that you are a tough woman. So please take it easy of these guys."
The Commissioner opened the door to the main offices and stood about 20 men all around one desk. With the entrance, all eyes were on us. 1), two people just busted through and door and 2), I seem to be the only woman in the room.
"Men, this is Detective Kimora Diamond. She will be helping us in the investigation. So please show her some respect."
I bowed to the men, only to hear a remark come out of one of their mouth.
"Sir, no offense, but what help can someone who doesn't even speak Korean do for us? She can't even talk to us about exchanging information. Plus, what help can a woman provide? I'm sorry for your troubles but you are not needed here."
The Commissioner was about to say something when I cut him off.
"It's funny that you say that. But I can understand you fully and I have no trouble with communicating between the two languages..."
I said this as I walked over to him and looked at his name tag.
"...Officer Kwon In-Tak."
What I did took everyone by surprise. I grabbed him by the arm and twisted it behind his back as I slammed his face onto the desk.
"Also, a great Detective knows when his shirt is inside-out."
I released him and pushed away. All the guys stared at me and swallowed hard. Then I heard clapping.
"So you're the American Detective. It's good to meet you. I'm Oh Jae-Hwa, the lead detective in this case. Thank you for coming all this way."
He reached out a hand, which I took. He was rather handsome. Deep brown eyes and a nice tan.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Oh."
"Please just Jay. Mr. is my father's name."
He smiled, which if I wasn't being watched right now, I would have blushed. Just then the phones went off one by one. The others all ran to their desk and all answered.
"Another murder." "Another female." "By the park." "We'll be there soon."
They all grabbed there jackets and bags and headed out one by one. I was standing there, unsure about what to do when Jay put his hand on my shoulder.
"This is how it is every day. You can ride with me."
I nodded and followed him out.
Once we arrived at the scene, there were News trucks and people everywhere. Jay lifted the caution tape up for me to walk under. As I stepped closer to the body. I saw blood everywhere. How could someone do this in broad daylight? The body was covered up, but you could tell it was a female. I squatted down and lifted the cover. A flash of Miranda's face went across my sight. I had to blink to get rid of it. The victim had to be around 20 years old. She had long black hair and light skin. Her eyes were a lifeless brown and she had red lipstick that was smeared to her chin. As I looked further down, there were several stab wounds to her abdomen. She most likely bled to death. I checked her hands for any signs of defense but nothing.
"The victim had to trust the killer to not have any defense wounds or dirt under the fingernails."
Jay squatted down beside me and looked.
"You have to be right. Unless he told her not to make a scene. The sister is talking to Kwon right now."
I looked up to see a young girl with tear stains down her face. She seems to be in a stage of hysteria. I stood up and walked over to them.
"Kwon, what's wrong?"
"She apparently only speaks Japanese and I can't calm her down."
"Think about it. Some male just killed someone she loves. Do you think she can trust a guy right now?"
I stated as I walked away from him and to the girl.
(In Japanese) "Hello, I'm Detective Diamond. I understand what you're going through. How about I get an officer to take you to the Station and a cup of tea. But I can understand you fully and I have no trouble with communicating between the two languages..."I said this as I walked over to him and looked at his name tag."...Officer Kwon In-Tak."What I did took everyone by surprise. I grabbed him by the arm and twisted it behind his back as I slammed his face onto the desk."Also, a great Detective knows when his shirt is inside-out."I released him and pushed away. All the guys stared at me and swallowed hard. Then I heard clapping."So you're the American Detective. It's good to meet you. I'm Oh Jae-Hwa, the lead detective in this case. Thank you for coming all this way."He reached out a hand, which I took. He was rather handsome. Deep brown eyes and a nice tan."It's nice to meet you Mr. Oh.""Please just Jay. Mr. is my father's name."He smiled, which if I wasn't being watched right now, I would have blushed. Just then the phones went off one by one. The others all ran to their desk and all answered."Another murder." "Another female." "By the park." "We'll be there soon."They all grabbed there jackets and bags and headed out one by one. I was standing there, unsure about what to do when Jay put his hand on my shoulder."This is how it is every day. You can ride with me."I nodded and followed him out.Once we arrived at the scene, there were News trucks and people everywhere. I checked her hands for any signs of defense but nothing."The victim had to trust the killer to not have any defense wounds or dirt under the fingernails."Jay squatted down beside me and looked."You have to be right. Unless he told her not to make a scene. The sister is talking to Kwon right now."I looked up to see a young girl with tear stains down her face. She seems to be in a stage of hysteria. I stood up and walked over to them."Kwon, what's wrong?""She apparently only speaks Japanese and I can't calm her down.""Think about it. Some male just killed someone she loves. Do you think she can trust a guy right now?"I stated as I walked away from him and to the girl.(In Japanese) "Hello, I'm Detective Diamond. I understand what you're going through. How about I get an officer to take you to the Station and a cup of tea. Then we can talk."

Chapter 1
Kimora's POV
Blood, Violet Dress, Dirt, Miranda's face... I jerked from my sleep covered in sweat. It has been 9 years since the death of my best friend, Miranda, and everything went cold after about a year into the search. The culprit was never found. I glanced over at the clock, 4:57 a.m. Every time it nears the anniversary, I'm reminded of what I should have done in order to save her. I rose from my bed and headed into the bathroom to take a shower. I quickly studied my reflection in the mirror, hair in every direction, makeup from yesterday still on, and a big bruise lining my jaw and neck. After High School, I gave up being a model and moved to Criminal Justice. I graduated top of my class with both my Bachelor's and Master's done within 5 years. I later moved to New York City, where I graduated from the New York Police Academy and became a Homicide Detective. Yesterday, I was involved in a fight with the suspect. He happened to catch the slip on me and was able to land a hit before I shot him in the leg as he tried to run. This bruise is just one of many within the 2 years I've been working for NYPD. I hopped into the shower and let the cold water run down my back. I tried to hold back the tears as memories of Miranda and I played in my head. Since that day, I tried so hard to pick up the case again, yet every time I think I'm somewhere, the trail goes cold again. I spent a whole year trying to catch the bastard who killed my friend but he seemed to disappear from this earth. I hopped out of the shower and got dressed for work. After getting dressed, I was out the door to my next destination, the NY Police Department. I arrived at the Department an hour before even having to be there, so I stopped at the café on the first floor. My friend, Matt, was the café owner and we meet on my first day. I got lost and he helped me out. He was my shoulder to cry on every time something came up and my drinking partner when shit went down.
"Is that my beautiful Diamond in the rough? Where is that smile that adores that face?"
I couldn't help but smile. Even if he pissed me off one day, he'll still squeeze a smile out of me.
"There it is. It's that time of the year right?"
"Sadly, yes. How's the café holding up?"
"Great. If you're wanting to have a successful business, open a shop that sells coffee and donuts in a police station."
Again, he wins a smile.
"Well, one day I'm going to have to take you up on that advice. How's Grayson doing?"
"Fine. We just found out she's pregnant again."
"Congratulations Matt!!"
"Yep, child number three surely wanted to make an entrance."
"Well, I'm happy for the two of you. I got to head up now. I'll talk to you at lunchtime. Ok."
"Ok. Hey and just remember, we're always here for you. If you want to talk, we'll listen."
He handed me my muffin and a cup of tea. I nodded and head up the elevator. Truth be told, in the beginning, I had gained a crush on Matt, but the day I saw him and his wife, Grayson. I knew I wouldn't live up to his expectations, but over time I lost feelings for him and looked at him as an older brother. He always treated me as such and once I realized that feeling. I started going to both of them when I felt unstable. They helped me a lot during this time if the year and I couldn't ask for anything else. The elevator stopped at the 10th floor and I stepped out. It was quiet since I was the only one there. I liked being alone so that I had time to look over case files and go through any material before the hustle and bustle of the department rushes through that door. I sat at my desk scanning over all the missing persons, murdered victims, and possible suicides files, but I couldn't find any motivation to flip through them. Sipping on my tea, I looked to the right to see the box full of unsolved and cold cases. There had to be about 100 files within that box. All of which ended just like Miranda's case. I logged onto my computer just as the other detectives and officers walked in to start the day. After logging on, I ate the muffin Matt had given me as I watched the back and forth traffic of my everyday life.
"Alright, I want everyone in the meeting room. I'm assigning new cases."
I slide out of my chair and heading to the meeting room with all the others.
"Today is going to be a full day. Now I need you to solve these cases fast but detailed. I'm tired of that box stacking up because of the neglect of information in regarding that case. So, Rogers and Smith, you two will handle Mr. Owen's case. Travis and Flores go check out the crime scene at the New York National Museum."
Our commissioner handed out cases one by one until Detective Blu and I were the only two.
"Blu there's been a murder at the bakery on 5th St. I need you there."
He stood up and left after his orders. Once gone the commissioner loosen his tie and sat in the chair in front of me.
"Detective Diamond, I have a really special case for you. I know it's around that time of the year, but I know I can count on you the most. I'm having you transferred to Seoul PD. There's a case that they can't solve and I promised to send the best."
"Sir, I can't take..."
"I know Sweetheart. But you're the best this station has to offer. And maybe some time away from this state could do some good for you. You haven't been yourself lately and I'm afraid to let you go."
"But what about Detective Blu? He's just as qualified as me."
"But you're the best."
I nodded my head and stood up to leave.
"Your plane leaves Wednesday, so go home and rest. I'm counting on you."

So this story does take place in South Korea, but since I don't know much to write a whole story.
"Things in Korean will be like this, normal"
"But things in English will be like this, bold"
I hope that you all will like this story.
