First of all, if you read this I love you so much hehe 💖 Last year I was planning to spend my vacations with my mom but we couldn’t make up our minds of where would we wanted to go, then I knew about your pop up store in LA and I got really excited, so I travelled all the way from Mexico to see the pop up store and hoping to meet you if you showed up, when I got there they told me you weren’t there, but you know, for me you were there in a more spiritual way 😹 I was really excited because this was the closest moment I’ve ever been to you in my whole life, I actually cried a little bit, I had an amazing time there, and I bought some merch for my friends and for me. Now, I’m waiting for finally see you live, to make my dream come true, I’m going to see you in 5 dates, 3 in NYC and 2 in Toronto, I’ve already bought 3 tickets, and I’m saving more money to afford the other 2, it would be amazing if I have the opportunity of hugging you, it would mean the world to me!!!  Dear @taylorswift ,

I’ve been thinking about what I want to write in this post for a while, but it’s been difficult to put it into words. I just wanted to give you a brief history of my time as a fan (going on 12 years now) and explain how excited I am for this tour. 

So the story starts in 2006. I was fresh out of the 5th grade. About to start middle school in the fall, and as I’m sure you know, that was a big deal. That’s when things start happening in your life (I think) that start affecting you. You know, friends being mean, leaving you out, not getting that grade you wanted, not making that team, boy troubles, all the usual suspects. And I feel very grateful that I had your music from the time I was 11 until now, at age 23. I wish I could tell you the moments between then and now when it was your music that made me feel understood, less alone, and validated. Even while people in my life were trying to make me feel this way.. you did the best job. 

Sorry, I said I was going to be brief, but here we are, paragraph three already. So I remember seeing the Tim McGraw music video on the CMT Top 20 Countdown. And let me tell you, I don’t remember many specific moments from my time as an 11 year old, but this was one of them. I remember telling my mom something along the lines of, “that is so clever to write a song, about hearing another artist on the radio…” I thought it was so unique. You were the first person that I became a fan of, completely on my own with no outside influences from family and friends. And btw, over the years I have turned all of my friends and family into Swifties. 

So the story goes, one of the first people that I like to think I turned into a swiftie is my older sister, Andrea. She is five and half years older than me and actually was born 9 days after you in 1989! So flash forward to the fearless album… I was SO EXCITED the day it came out. I was in the 8th grade and my sister had moved to college just a few months prior. That was a huge adjustment for me (and her) and she was coming home that weekend. I remember when she came home that weekend she brought me a gift she picked up on her way… the Fearless Album. We unfortunately couldn’t go to the Fearless tour because I had a basketball game the day of the event in my city and to be honest, I’m still not over that.

From that time on we had to celebrate new albums long distance, over the phone, text, Facetime, etc. And for my 16th birthday, my sister took me and one of my friends to see the Speak Now Tour in Nashville. IT WAS PROBABLY THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE AT THAT POINT. I describe that day as magical. Just when I thought I couldn’t become a greater fan… I became the ultimate swiftie (haha, cheesy, but true). 

We couldn’t go to the Red Tour together due to conflicting dates, but she got to go with her friend from college, and I went with my two best friends. It was my senior year of high school and we went to the Atlanta show together! The Red album really had such a huge affect on all of us, and the situations we were going through at the time. The album captured so many feelings, that I didn’t even know were able to be put into words, until i heard those songs.

So the fall after I went to the Red tour, I moved off to college and my sister moved 3 states away. We were now 8 hours apart instead of 3. And when 1989 came out, you better believe we were on the phone and texting our thoughts and favorite songs constantly. AND for my 20th birthday my sister got us tickets to see you in Washington, DC. AND IT WAS ON JULY 14th, WHICH IS MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY. And to top it all off, we got upgraded to front row by Taylor Nation, and I now refer to that day as the greatest day of my life. The 1989 tour was the most fun and encouraging event I have ever been to. I mean, one minute you are dancing to Blank Space and being sassy, then you’re moved to tears by a Clean speech, and then dancing your little heart out to Shake It Off. What a great show. I also went to the Atlanta and Nashville shows with my college friends, and the same friends from high school that I went to the Red Tour with!

So during the three year break between 1989 and REP, my sister got married and I graduated from college (both just a few months before REP came out)! I was my sister’s maid of honor and during my toast, I said something along the lines of how I have always thought so highly of Andrea and I think she is the coolest person in the world… to which she loudly yelled “that’s not true, she thinks Taylor Swift is the coolest person in the world!” After the laughter died down I said “okay fine, I think she’s the second coolest person in the world.” AND I must add that Shake It Off is the song that got the dance floor going at the wedding… led by me and my sister. 

So Taylor, I’m sorry I lied when I said this would be short, but I really wanted to fully explain the situation haha. And I say all of that to say… That my sister and I are going to be seeing you in concert on JULY 14th (on my birthday again… eeeeek i’ll be 23) in Philadelphia. I live in Georgia and she lives in Virginia, but we are taking a trip up north because who can resist a Taylor concert on their birthday right?! We are going to be in SECTION 110, ROW 1, SEATS 3-5. We are bringing my brother-in-law along too, for his first Taylor concert! I wish I could put into words how much it would mean if we got to meet you, and I could tell you in person how much you and your music has done for me and meant to me for the past 12 years. But, either way I am just so incredibly excited to see you again, and dance, and celebrate my birthday with you. I can’t wait to see you soon!!!! We’ve really grown up with you, Taylor (you can see below in the pics haha). And this tour might just be the best one yet.
