ideal living situation is what i call the 'sitcom special' : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.

That guy is something else.

I have been stanning Ateez for roughly three years, and this whole while I feel like I have a particularly different perspective of him than SOME (bc I don't want death threats lol) others that I've seen.

I don't know or quite understand why it is so common for fans to slap a jester's hat on Mingi as quickly as possible in any encounter that he has, without fail. I'm a big fan of funny joking and pointing out things that can happen- it's human, and most of the time regarding Mingi and the rest of Ateez it's hilarious.

That's Mingi, but that's not ALL of Mingi.

That guy is smart man 😭 I find myself at a certain stage in life where I'm struggling with a lot of things (getting ready to graduate this upcoming school year, trying to find a purpose afterwards, trying to find resources to get out of a bad environment, etc) and Mingi has good and golden chunks of advice for seemingly everything I can think of.

I don't know if it's because we think and present ourselves very similarly, but to me personally, Mingi is one of the most self-aware and eloquent(not the word I'm looking for but oh well) members in Ateez- and nobody would get that with how SOME (picture a big red circle around that guys) fans treat him.

With SOME (big red circle again) fans, they seem to paint Mingi as very two-dimensional, his coin's two sides usually contain his "Fix On" sexy, thrusting, no shame Mingi, and the other side is "Princess Mingki" the bumbling idiot who is the perfect point-and-laugh candidate of Ateez.

These ARE two very well developed sides of Mingi though, as he's said, and I'm definitely not shunning or turning my nose up at the thought of them existing.

But a lot of you seem to latch on to the infamous "idol persona" (which can be a number of things, it's usually a bit different but not in the case of Mingi lol) of these people and forget/don't want to even acknowledge the other wonderful parts of them.

This kind of turned down a more negative path then what I wanted, so I'll be making another post with all of my favorite Mingi moments that I don't think they enough love that they deserve! 🤗

Again, this isn't directed at anyone or anything in particular, it was just something that was kind of tugging at my brain here recently and writing it out helps that a bit 😭

If anyone who DOES fall into the category of fans that I've talked about reads this, I'd love to know how and why you go about things concerning Mingi the way you do- no shade, I'm just genuinely curious because I cannot personally wrap my head around it lol
