Tumblr media
࿇ characters. jichang/jinrang/jaegyeon/james/gongseop/taesoo
࿇ disclaimer. this will be my first time writing for the 1st gen kings so please bear in mind it might be ooc. i’ll do my best to navigate around it though. again, thank you for believing in my work! this isn’t really long too. ࿇ warnings. jinrang’s past. gongseop is a fake monk but still uses one the four noble truths to justify his feelings. mentions of zack in gongseop. hudson is basically the big brother to taesoo’s daughter. ࿇ author's note. i didn’t think the earlier girl dads scenario would be somehow a hit to the point you guys would want a 1st gen version, but here we are! i didn’t add gitae here since he was already a part of the original post.

JICHANG KWAK
With how Jichang had raised Jibeom and Jihan, I could see him as a father who would tend to be a little strict and overprotective with his daughter. He knows the dangers of the world that they live in and how he has a lot more to protect now. It’s not just his siblings and Bakgu Noh anymore—it’s not just ensuring that Chungcheong Province was free from bad guys, but he has you and his daughter now.
He would teach her how to defend herself at a young age. Considering how dangerous things are for him and how he’s on edge whenever a foreign face comes to visit the province, he would want to make sure that his daughter can protect herself. If he’s too busy to teach her, either Jibeom or Jihan would take over, ensuring that they put in the hours and effort in educating her in his technique.
You would be against it at first since you wanted your daughter to enjoy her childhood, but at the same time, you knew—were well-aware how bad it was for Jichang back in Seoul. And so you let him teach your daughter.
“You’re doing well,” he says, giving his daughter an encouraging smile as she spars with an exasperated Jihan. “Why are you making me spar with her?!” his youngest brother exclaims, doing his best not to hurt a strand of her from his niece. “This is unfair, hyung!” Jihan adds, making Jichang roll his eyes at Jihan’s dramatics.
Jichang was about to open his mouth to respond, but his daughter beats him to it. “Uncle,” she says, mimicking her father’s pose.
Her left arm was outstretched as the other was bent to cover her face—both hands ready to serve as blades. “If you can’t teach me how to fight, then who will?” she asks, trying to mock her uncle. “Aren’t you stronger than uncle Jibeom? Show it to me then,” she says, making Jichang eyes widen, but soften right after.
She really does take after him, he thinks. And that makes Jichang cross his arms, looking at Jihan, who was shocked at his own niece’s words.
“You heard her,” Jichang says. “Fight back.”
“She’s not even 10!” Jihan argues.
“Don’t underestimate my kid.”

JINRANG
Given his vicious childhood, it was a fact to say that Jinrang had it rough. The only thing that was on his mind was to protect his people—those who were younger than him, the same ones that called him hyung. The same ones that relied on him whenever things had gone awry in the cesspool they called home back then.
The two of you had met when he was rising in the ranks of the Busan Gang, developing a romance that he didn’t know how to navigate at first. But one thing Jinrang knew was that he knew he had to protect you—and to him that meant that he cared for you, loved you in a way that he knows how.
He had found out that you were pregnant right after he was taken to prison, remembering how his heart lurched in his throat—feeling helpless because he was behind bars for dealing with the late Dalyoung Oh, the previous King of Busan.
Jinrang was the type of person who had always protected you, who had made sure that you had a roof over your head and away from all the mess that the gang had even if he was in prison. His brothers, Sang Baek and Jungseok, had ensured that you had a safe pregnancy despite their hyung being in prison.
When he got released, the first thing he did was go to your home—so comfortable, nice. A far cry from his prison cell. Everything was clean, and he could see the toys that littered on the living room.
“I’m home,” he says, loud enough for you and for your daughter to hear. Hell, he isn’t even sure if his own daughter remembers him. The last time he saw her, she was an infant. Can she walk now? He thinks, heart hurting because he couldn’t even be with her during her first moments.
“Daddy!” is what he hears, a giggle following after as he sees his daughter—a mix of you and him, running towards him with a smile that could blind him.
That’s his little bundle of joy, all grown-up, recognizing him and even calling him daddy. He has to thank you for your parenting, how you managed to do all of this alone when all he wanted to do was help and be there for you—but he can’t because of the circumstances.
“Sweetheart,” Jinrang says, a small smile on his face as he kneels down to hug his daughter. Her tiny body had fit comfortably against his, and he can’t help but hug her tighter as you look at their small reunion. “Have you been good for mom?” he asks quietly, rubbing his daughter’s back before pulling away to look at her.
He marvels at the fact that she looks like the two of you, and he thinks that finally, he had contributed something good in his world. A tiny human that was of the two of you—so loving and caring, not looking at him like the felon that he is. He’s only daddy to her, and he would like for it to stay that way.
“Yeah!” she says excitingly, handing him the stuffed animal—a wolf, and it makes him laugh quietly. “Mommy says that daddy likes wolves, so I asked uncle Sang Baek and Jungseok to get me one!” she adds, jumping as she tugs his arm.
“Come on, daddy! Let me show you my playroom.”
Tumblr media
JAEGYEON NA
“Don’t touch it!” Jaegyeon exclaims as his daughter looks at him mischievously, hand hovering above Initial N’s new paint job. Everyone in the family knew that he was protective of the damn car, and it’s not below him to tell his daughter or you off when it comes to it.
“But why, daddy?” she asks, hand still hovering on the car’s new pain, and Jaegyeon swears the little devil was putting her hand agonizingly slow just to piss him off. “It’s just new paint,” she retorts, her answers somehow similar to how Jaegyeon responds to people.
You watch the two of them, entertained. It’s not all the time your daughter manages to tick her father off because she’s an angel as he says, but it’s a different nickname for her when she tries to mess around with his precious car. “Do you care about Inital N more than me, daddy?” she asks, trying to sound so sad, using puppy dog eyes to make it seem like she was about to cry.
Jaegyeon immediately softens, though it’s obvious that he’s conflicted. “You’re such a manipulator,” he says to his kid, but without any bite. “Where did you think she got that from?” you comment from the sidelines, and all he does is give you a massive side-eye.
“What’s a manipulator, daddy?” she asks, clueless. “But do you really care about Initial N more than me?” she asks again as she sees Jaegyeon walking towards her, kneeling, his blond locks framing his face. “No, angel,” he says. “It’s just a paint job is expensive here in Incheon, and daddy can’t be bothered to go back to Seoul to get it done again.”
Your daughter doesn’t really know the value of money considering that Jaegyeon had a bad habit of spoiling the two of you so much, evident at how you were sporting luxury goods from head to toe, and his own child was decked in Baby Dior. “But you can afford everything, daddy,” she argues before humming.
“But okay,” she says, unconsciously resting her hand on the car, which makes Jaegyeon gasp, all exaggerated. “What!” his daughter asks, surprised, looking at her hand and seeing how there was a faint color blue on it. “Ew! My hand is blue! Daddy!” she says, her hand smacking on her father’s cheek, and Jaegyeon can’t even evade quickly.
“Angel!” he says, looking at the small handprint on the car, his daughter’s faint blue hand, and to you, where he sports a blue cheek.
“Can my wife please help me?!”
Tumblr media
JAMES LEE
Even if he had already changed his identity, it didn’t mean that James was completely safe from his past. Sure, he dropped James Lee in public, went and become the famous idol Dagyeom Kang, created his own entertainment company before declaring that he wanted to pursue politics, of all things, but you—you were the one who knew him from the start, way before Charles Choi and the Four Major Crews came into the picture.
You were his constant, the one who knew him as James—the one who stuck by him despite the many changes and dangers that had come to his life.
James was a private person. Not many knew of his relationship with you, and not many were aware of the fact that he had a daughter with you of all things. It only heightens the risk, and given his reputation, a lot of people could benefit from this fact alone. And so, he keeps you and his daughter away from Seoul—away from all the danger that the city holds.
He takes time away from the public and from the gang problems that constantly plagued his entirety, and instead, he comes home to you and your daughter in a small town where you two lived comfortably—in a home where it smells and feels like home; how it’s not a place where it looked like it came from a cover of Architectural Digest.
“Daddy, can you sing for me?” his daughter asks one night. James does not often come home, and his daughter just knows that daddy is an important and busy person where he’s constantly talking to people. You did a great deal of hiding the fact that her father was basically a mobster, who was using a multitude of his connections to become the perfect candidate and politics.
“Mommy said you don’t want to sing anymore, but pleaaaaasseee?” she begs in that small voice of hers while clutching the very first stuffed toy that James had given to her when she was able to recognize what it was—a panda. “Mommy said that, hm?” he chuckles, brushing the strands of hair that were across his daughter’s face as he sat on the edge of her bed.
“Mommy’s wrong, because daddy likes to sing for his little princess,” James says with a tender smile. He thinks fatherhood initially didn’t suit him, but ever since you two had your daughter, he was embracing it very well. “Do you have any requests, little one?” he asks.
Even if James had wanted nothing more but to sleep beside you in your shared room together, he will make time to read a bedtime story to your daughter and lull her to sleep.
“Oh! How about Three Bears, daddy?” she asks excitingly, eyes beaming with eagerness to hear her father’s singing. *“Gom se mariga han jibe isseo!” she sings in a pitched voice, making James laugh quietly, pinching his daughter’s cheek lightly.
“Okay, okay. Daddy will sing it,” he gives in, clearing his throat as if he’s performing in a stadium—but in reality, he’s in his daughter’s room, performing with an audience of one.
**“Gom se mari ga han jibe isseo.. appa gom, eomma gom, aegi gom..”
*There are three bears in a bear family. **There are three bears in a bear family: a Daddy bear, a Mommy bear and a Baby bear.
Tumblr media
GONGSEOP JI
“Is Zack coming by?” your daughter asks as she stands behind her father while he pretends to pray in front of the statue of Buddha.
She doesn’t see it, but Gongseop frowns at the question, adjusting his glasses as he turns around and gives his daughter a fake smile, as if he was elated that his very own flesh and blood was asking about his disciple—who was probably learning about English at the very moment. The boy was studying here a few days ago while you shamelessly pestered him.
Gongseop knows the harsh truth, and it’s the truth that he can’t swallow.
And according to Buddha’s Four Noble Truths, Dukkha means that life inherently involves suffering and dissatisfaction. Right now, Gongseop could heavily relate to the part where he is suffering and dissatisfied at the fact that his daughter had a crush on his disciple.
“No, he is not,” he says, putting a hand on her back as they walk outside of the temple. “But why?” his daughter asks, completely unconvinced. The little brat pushes on asking him questions, and to be fair, Gongseop had no idea when Zack will drop by because the kid was busy.
He was his disciple, yes, but he was like his own son or whatever—though the thought still makes him cringe. Him? Having a son like that insolent brat? No way.
(That’s what he says, but Zack grew on him like a leech.)
“He’s busy taking exams,” he responds to his daughter as they look at the city of Daegu. Being in the mountains meant that your daughter didn’t go to the city as often as she’d like, but Gongseop doesn’t deprive her of that. “Remember when he was studying here? That was for an exam.”
“Ooohhh,” his daughter says, though not totally getting the concept of an exam, still. After all, she was young. “When will he be back?” she asks, and it makes Gongseop roll his eyes.
“Sweetheart,” he calls out to his daughter, looking down at her. “Why do you keep looking for Zack?” he asks, though he knows the answer anyway. He just wants to hear it from her just to see if she’d make any random excuse.
“‘Cause I have a crush on him,” she says, as if she didn’t figuratively throw water right in front of his face. “Mommy says that it’s okay to have a crush.”
“Mommy said that?” he asks his daughter, a sour look on his face as he turns to look at the house that you three stayed in here in the mountains. “And you agree with that?”
His daughter only shrugs. “Zack is handsome.”
“No he’s not.”
“Yes he is!”
“His hair isn’t even that nice!” he starts to argue with his daughter, although playfully. He would not risk hurting her feelings. You, on the other hand..
“Why would you say that?! You’re bald, daddy!”
Tumblr media
TAESOO MA
Taesoo loved your daughter very much. It was evident at how gentle he was with her, how he practically heeded to her every whim, even stopping to eat boars and snakes (from time to time) when she found out because it was dangerous to his health. That’s how much he valued her word and yours.
But now, he was faced with a challenge. “But why can’t I go the mountains with you, daddy!” she bawls, and Taesoo carries her in his arms, with a visibly helpless Hudson, as he tries to hush her crying. You weren’t here to help the two of them because you wanted to leave and have some time for yourself—a pamper day, if he remembers correctly.
“Sweetie—“
“Even Hudson gets to go! Why can big brother go and I can’t!” she argues, not even letting her father finish speaking as she cries on his shoulder, clutching his shirt as Taesoo and Hudson look at each other, both unable to know what to do.
“Mountains are for training,” Hudson explains gently to his master’s daughter, treating her like a little sister instead of being indifferent towards her—how he usually is to other people. “Plus, there are dangerous animals there. Big brother and your dad don’t want you to get scared,” he adds.
“He’s right, sweetie,” Taesoo takes on the conversation. “Daddy and big brother can protect you, but we can always choose other things to do,” he coaxes her gently, pulling her away from his shoulder so that he can wipe her tears for her with his thumb.
“Like what? I don’t wanna go to the mall,” she says, and it makes Taesoo chuckle. “Should we go to the park then? It’s pretty quiet during these hours,” Taesoo suggests, and Hudson quips. “We can go to Nojeokbong Falls. You like waterfalls, right?”
Your daughter nods.
“Good, we can go there and we can eat,” Taesoo agrees and your daughter goes over to Hudson, and he easily carries her like he was used to it (he is, you tend to be clingy to him).
“Can we go and feed some fish, big brother?” his daughter asks and Taesoo nods. “Of course. What else do you want to do, sweetie?” he asks this time, and his daughter says one thing after the other, which earns the attention of her big brother too.
Crisis averted, Taesoo thinks.

GUN PARK
If anything, Gun had taken on the responsibility of a father easily compared to what you had initially thought.
Being in Gun Park’s life had meant that you were able to see the rawest, purest form of him—the one where you see the Gun Park who had easily cooked your favorite meal in the cutest way possible. The one where you see how gentle he can be whenever he tends to you despite his heavy hands that were used to beating up people. The one where you see how caring can he be to you and to your unborn daughter.
“Rest,” he says, not even bothering to look up at you as you watch him make another conconction—whatever you and the little one (as he likes to call her) craved for today. It was a little mix of everything, and while Gun had wanted to tell you that this is not healthy, he could not resist you and your cute little face.
So what if he had gone soft for you? You were the only one who could see that softness anyway, and it’s not like he had lost his edge. He still makes a living, completely barricading this part of life away from prying eyes and loud mouths—namely Goo and the rest of HNH—while ensuring that the Four Major Crews aren’t doing shit that could possibly tarnish whatever he had worked so hard for.
All that matters now is you and your daughter.
“But what if I don’t want to?” you argue lightly, though it sounded more of like a tease. Gun had a tendency to be overprotective, making sure that you’re comfortable. If you wanted a massage now, he would almost immediately drop the baking sheet to go and wash his hands before tending to you.
He was quite literally the textbook definition of a househusband.
“Aren’t you a little hardheaded this afternoon?” he asks, looking up to see you glowing. Gun thinks he might have a heart attack with how adorable you look in your maternity dress, how you have that cheeky expression in your face that he loves looking at.
And while he initially was fearful of the pregnancy, it looked good on you. Looked good to the point that he wanted another kid because you being so round with his daughter made his heart ache in the best way possible. “You should go and take a seat on the sofa. It’s like sitting on a cloud,” he says, knowing damn well that he had it imported from whatever country it came from only because he wanted you to be comfortable during this whole pregnancy.
“Yeah, but,” you start, sitting on the bar stool as you watched him pipe animated designs on several pieces of cookies. “It won’t be the same without you,” you say, happiness evident in your tone as you put a hand on your stomach. “And our princess wants to see her dad create a masterpiece on those cookies.”
That was enough to make Gun smile—a rare one to his colleagues, quite normal to you—and while he thought that was cheesy yet adorable, he has his own lines ready to quip.
“How funny,” he says as he finishes piping one of the cookies before handing it to you to taste. “Because our princess needs to know that she,” he points at your tummy. “Is mom and dad’s magnum opus.”
Tumblr media
GOO KIM
Goo has done a lot of stupid things, and while they are stupid, they are well-calculated. He doesn’t make a move where he knows he’s on the losing end because Goo will always benefit in the end.
This, however, is not something that he had calculated. He was also unsure if he was going to benefit from this because he hadn’t thought this through. Maybe it was also the panic and anxiety talking because he’s not supposed to talk and think like this whenever you’re involved—making it sound like you’re just some random business deal that he needs to get over with when you’re not.
You’re worth more than whatever pile of money was waiting for him at the end of every goal he has.
Still, he can’t even deny it himself—the news had shaken him up. Though thanks to years of masking his feelings, he’s definitely a lot better at not showing whatever emotion that was about to consume him because you look so happy.
You look so happy at the fact that you’re giving him a child at this age. Goo wonders if you’re as crazy as he is because holy shit, the two of you were only, what? In your 20s?
You should be partying at the club and not getting knocked up by him because: a) he’s got a lot of shit to do in the underworld and he’s involved with incredibly dangerous people, b) he’s an idiot that wanted to go raw, and c) he’s unsure if he can be a great father to this kid.
Goo, at most, plans 5 steps ahead, but with you wanting to keep the baby, he must plan at least 10 steps ahead because God knows whatever life is going to throw at him next. He was still unsure about the pregnancy—the thought of being a father—but he sure as hell would give you everything to ensure that you only have a smooth and less-awful pregnancy.
So, months later, his protectiveness shows.
Really.
“Jungoo, I’m fine!” you argue with your boyfriend as he held your hand, the two of you descending down the stairs of your new home.
He was insane enough to get you a house—away from prying eyes so that you and your beloved baby girl will be safe, not worrying about anyone who could possibly attack the two most important people in his life. “I can go down the stairs just fine!” you exclaim.
And while you almost push him down the goddamn stairs, Goo keeps a tight grip on your hand, the other on the small of your back. “You don’t know that, cupcake,” he says gently, eyes flitting from your face to your pregnant tummy. He feels his heart swell a little because going through the ultrasounds, the parenting books, the look of the nursery—everything made him excited.
A far cry from his initial response to when he found out you were pregnant. “Let me do this for you, okay?” he says gently, trying not to trigger a possible mood swing from you. “Ugh, fine,” you retort, letting him dote over you. “Only because you look funny begging,” you say, in which you receive a face from him.
You think about how Goo had always been so mobile, always in one place and then another because he has business deals all over Seoul. But with you, he’s been so patient, the most he’s ever been considering he always liked to get things done in the quickest, Goo-est way possible.
“Thanks, Goo,” you murmur as he safely helps you down the stairs, your hand immediately resting on your stomach. “Anything for you, sweetheart,” he says, leaning down to kiss your forehead before placing his hand on top of yours. “And for our sweet little angel too.”
Tumblr media
JAKE KIM
Jake hadn’t really thought about being a father at such a young age.
Considering his lifestyle and as the leader of Big Deal, Jake had wanted to make sure that before anything like a pregnancy happens, or at least progresses, he had removed himself from the gang life.
Sure, he treats Big Deal like family because that’s what they are to him, but at the end of the day, there’s always a sick reminder in his head to never ever forget that it was still a gang—and the two of you having an unplanned pregnancy while he’s still the leader of the said gang makes him want to spiral into the abyss.
But even if he was in a state of shock and in worry, he doesn’t show that to you—not when you looked so horrified right in front of him, hands trembling, your tears instantly filling your lash line as you broke the news to him. You confirmed that you were indeed carrying his kid after a trip to the clinic.
“Hey,” he says as he holds your hand in his, engulfing them. “We’ll be okay,” he assures you in a quiet whisper, hunched down a little as makes a promise.
That’s what he tells you—often does, anyway. Jake was the type of person to reassure everyone around him that things were going to be okay, even if he himself was unsure of what the future holds. But he knows he’ll do something about it, make a plan—he had always been the type to step up no matter what challenge was thrown towards him.
A few weeks in your pregnancy, you began experiencing its symptoms. Jake could hear you retching your guts out in the bathroom, his immediate instinct was to get out of bed and quickly follow to help you. The swinging of the door was heard as you were keeled over, feeling his large hands help you with your hair before letting the other rest on your back.
His expression softens as he rubs your back. “It’s okay, baby,” he whispers, and you only hum a response in return because you didn’t feel like talking—the weight and realization of becoming a mother slowly sinking in with the symptoms.
Shit, he feels bad. Jake knows you well enough to know that you’re in deep thought, and he thinks that you wouldn’t have to carry majority of the burden if the two of you had been careful enough. But you wanted to keep the baby, and it’s your body therefore it’s also your choice. In the end, all Jake can do was be there for you and be the best support system for you.
“I’m here.”
Tumblr media
GITAE KIM
Fatherhood is a foreign concept to Gitae.
If anything, he thinks—knows, that he’s not meant to be a father. He doesn’t have the gentleness and patience of a parent. Sure, maybe he can be stern, but never in his life did he think that he would be a father. Can you blame him if he didn’t know how to be one, given how he was born out of wedlock? How his own father barely acknowledged him, his first born, and so he turned into whatever this is.
All Gitae knows is that he was a man made to remove people—a man who resented his own parents; resenting them for giving him life when he didn’t ask for it.
He knows that being a parent isn’t for him. So when you told him you were pregnant, a multitude of thoughts had come to his head.
It was as clear as day whenever Gitae recalls the moment you broke the news to him.
How your voice trembled when you spoke to him, pupils looking like they were about to spill salty tears. How you were visibly shaken, making yourself look smaller in his presence, utterly distraught at the fact that you were pregnant when the two of you have been so careful. How you had endless apologies slipping from your lips, not bothering to look at him out of fear that he might get rid of you and your unborn child.
Gitae doesn’t know if the odd pain in his chest was normal whenever he remembers that devastated version of you that day. Even if the two of you had such an unconventional start in your relationship, at the end of the day, he still chose to risk it all with you despite not knowing the first steps in loving someone—in caring for someone other than himself.
At the end of the day, he still wants you in his life no matter how dangerous it was—because he had a silent promise not just to you, but to himself.
That he will protect you because he wants you standing by his side.
“You’re pregnant,” is what Gitae says as he looks down on you, the sentence he utters sounds more like a statement than a question. It was as if he doesn’t completely register the revelation you just told him—the look in his eyes could be described as two things: distant and hollow.
But this is you, not some random woman—not a concubine. So he tries to take it easy on you.
“Do you want to keep it?” Is the first thing he asks, and when you take a while to respond, he leans forward to hug you—a moment of reassurance and affection, quite rare. An unspoken I’ll be here for you. And once you said yes, Gitae steels himself for nine long months of pregnancy—and a lifetime of fatherhood.
Though, he thinks he’s faring better than expected.
Months later, he finds himself massaging your feet as you tell him about how your daughter was giving you a hard time today, constantly kicking, making you want to lay down constantly. And apart from that, pregnancy in itself made it quite heavy for you on your day-to-day, so you asked Gitae to give you a foot massage.
To which he surprisingly obliged.
He only hums as he listens to you, a grunt and even a small chuckle escaping from time to time. “Mi flor,” he speaks, looking at your stomach. “Don’t give your mama such a hard time. She’s already dealing with papa as it is,” he jokes lightly, but he doesn’t notice the slight look of concern that you give him.
He makes it sound so horrible dealing with him. Maybe to his enemies, yes, but Gitae had been nothing but different with you in the best way possible. “I’m sure our little flower just misses you,” you assure him lightly. “After all, papa had been gone majority of the day. She hasn’t heard your voice as much,” you tell him, and he glances at you with a softened expression.
“Is that so, mi flor?” he says, halting in his movements of tending to your feet as he sits next to you. “Well, papa’s here now,” he murmurs, rubbing your stomach gently, feeling his daughter kick, and that instantly brings a small smile on his lips.
“Should I tell you what mama and I plan on giving you when you’re born?” he asks his daughter.
“Would the world be enough, mi flor?”

Young!Samuel Seo x Young!Reader: Safe Space
G/N. Part of convenience store AU. Can be standalone. You're both grown up and life has happened.
Leave him be | Dinner Guest | Doctors and Patients | Baby | Dragons | Masterlists
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You don't look after the store as well as your parents.
The place is nostalgic, full of memories for you, whereas your mom and dad poured their hopes and dreams into it. Now that they've passed, you couldn't bring yourself to sell it and move on even if you feel like your life is drifting away.
Your day begins with flipping the sign to Open, and ends with flipping the sign to Closed. Stocking shelves and counting inventory, a lunch at the counter with your phone for company. You're a side character to those that frequent your store. Stressed students grabbing their lunch, families picking up dinner ingredients, young couples so in love that even browsing your mundane wares is an adventure.
The old, rusty doorbell jingles and alerts you to hopefully the last customer of a long day.
"Welcome!" You call out on reflex, seated and elbows resting on the counter as you count down the minutes until you can close.
"Evening."
You recognise that voice anywhere. It's deeper, even if it's only been a year since you've last seen him. He's taller too, his suit filling out better than you recall. There's confidence in his posture and how he holds himself.
There's barely any traces of his childhood self left.
That's good, you think, internally chiding yourself for wanting to see glimpses of the small Samuel again. He was your best friend but life was so much more difficult for him than it should be.
"Sammy-" you begin but correct yourself. "Samuel. I didn't realise you were in town."
It's the truth. There's no way of knowing if he was around or not. Most of your ties are severed.
"I was in the neighbourhood," he responds, then to your surprise, he avoids your gaze when he tells you, "Sammy is fine."
"Sammy," you try it once more on your tongue and smile.
Samuel is someone you barely know.
Sammy feels like hazy summers sitting side by side trying to cool off in front of a fan, building snowmen in front of the store as the cold seeps through both your gloves, sleepovers and staying up too late watching scary movies then not being able to sleep even when the sun rises.
Sammy was a constant part of your life, had pride of place in your heart, and the thought of separating you two was unthinkable.
"This place feels the same," his voice cuts through your thoughts as he runs his hand along the counter. It's not a criticism, there's wistfulness in his tone and care in the way he touches the surface.
He stops centimeters away from your fingers.
You notice the way his knuckles are red and swollen. Your eyes rove up. There's faded dirt on his jacket and when you peer at his face, a bruise sitting on his temple partly hidden by his fringe.
"Are you ok?" Alarmed, your hand tenderly grasps his and you urgently reach up to push his hair aside.
He's stiff when you touch him though he doesn't deny you. You're wrong when you said there's no traces left of the Sammy you used to know. He still looks like he has half a mind to bolt, there's uneasiness radiating off him in waves but he stays put for you.
His voice is casual, dismissive. "I'm fine. It's nothing."
You stare at him incredulously and he defiantly stares back, challenging you to disagree.
Your lives had diverged a long time ago, yet he's back here with you tonight. You thought the gods of time and fate had sentenced you two to be apart except it looks like you are still destined to be intertwined. At least for a little longer.
You call his bluff, because even though it's been years, Sammy could never truly be a stranger.
It's never been fine, it's never been nothing.
If he doesn't want you to fuss over him then you will just play this differently.
"I love you, ok." You release your hold to give him a playful tap on the shoulder. "Come back and see me soon. Stop being a stranger."
Sammy's eyebrow shoots up, his mouth falls briefly open as something inscrutable flashes across his features.
He's stuck. In time, in place; the words, in his throat.
You smile softly at his expression. "Think of me, of this," you gesture at the store, "as your safe space."
Something inside him breaks. He closes his eyes. He can't look at you right now. Inside this place with the flickering fluorescent light sits the only person and the only memories that have mattered.
Sammy chances a glance at you and it's like all those years have never happened. You've both stepped back in time and you're just kids again.
He nods, a small bob of the head but he can breathe again.
He reaches over the counter, closes his eyes once more and rests his forehead against yours.

Please, can you write Kim Gitae hedcanons, I love him so much😭😭😭😭😭😭
gitae kim headcanons
Tumblr media
࿇ pairing. gitae kim x reader
࿇ disclaimer. i don’t think i’m good at writing headcanons, and i also didn’t expect a gitae request considering a lot of people don’t like him—which is a given, i completely understand—but i’ll still do my best to write this request since he’s also one of my favorites. ࿇ author's note. again, hopefully i’m not too far off with these. this is also divided into general and x reader hcs. thank you for believing in my work!
Tumblr media
IN GENERAL…
࿇ Gitae is self-sufficient—highly independent, however you want to call it. I’m pretty sure him fighting for survival in Mexico—Tijuana, of all places—is a testament of him being able to withstand a majority of things that people wouldn’t even bother looking at.
࿇ With that being said, I do believe that his brutality is practically second nature to him, as if it was akin to breathing. If he encounters someone that he doesn’t like, feels as if they wouldn’t surrender their obedience and loyalty to him, off they go. He doesn’t have the time to deal with people who only give him a headache—he will remove them himself if he has to.
࿇ He’s not the type to talk much unless necessary. I think he would rather keep things to himself unless you’re someone he has deep history with, or has a score to settle with. A perfect example would be his relationship with James Lee—how he’s willing to meet up with James, talk about their plans together freely to the point he heeds to his orders even if Gitae himself is a leader. That, and how he easily removes his half-siblings in this world the moment he found out that they were all praising their low life of a father.
࿇ Gitae is someone who will carry on and do everything he can to fulfill his goal. That much is obvious, but I think that perseverance and determination eventually turns into obsession, which is why that objective is something he might center his life with unknowingly.
IN DATING…
࿇ I don’t think it would be serious at first. As in it would just probably be a one-time thing, but let’s say you ended up being his favorite, so he lets you in.
࿇ You managed to worm into Gitae’s life. Congratulations, trust that it’s going to be a difficult relationship to maintain though. You have to be ready for a lot of things, and Gitae would expect you to either deal with it, or run while you still can.
࿇ You have to know and understand what you’re getting into, and who you’re in a relationship with. So if you have your hesitations, he would gladly let you leave.
࿇ Since I did mention that he’s an independent person, Gitae would not be used to being doted on. He has been reliant on himself since God knows when, so if you started doting on him out of nowhere, I can imagine him being annoyed.
࿇ Though, you do have to remember that he’s been alone majority of his life. It takes a lot of easing in to let him get used to these things from you.
࿇ There’s a difference between being affectionate and lustful, and I think Gitae leans towards the latter more. He would be a lot more touchy with you if you guys do the deed. But when it comes to the normal hugs and kisses, hand-holding like normal couples do, I don’t think he’ll reciprocate that much. It’s still a bit difficult for him to not treat this as a fling or whatnot since that’s what he’s used to—but he’ll try, for you.
࿇ Given how he is, he won’t also be the type to open up his feelings or emotions. Opening up is a foreign concept to him in general, what more when it comes to love? It takes a lot of patience to understand him.
࿇ Speaking of love, he does not care for it. In his world where survival is the most important thing in order to move forward in achieving his goals, he simply doesn’t have the time for it. Apart from that, his gene, and considering the type of person he is, it doesn’t necessarily make him a good candidate for love.
࿇ But miracles do happen, and he feels different with you.
࿇ In the instance that the two of you managed to schedule a date like what normal couples do, let’s just say that it wouldn’t happen in the most normal way possible. He might be doing last minute business, but considering he promised a date, he’ll still show up to see you.
࿇ He looks handsome as ever, still carrying that intimidating aura with his stature, but your eyes don’t miss how his axe was poorly hidden behind him and how his pinstriped shirt was stained with crimson.
࿇ But you’ll forgive him.. right? It’s not like he’s dated other people before.

Hello! can u write Hudson Ahn headcanons please....!
Love your works🌹
hudson ahn headcanons
Tumblr media
࿇ pairing. hudson ahn x reader
࿇ disclaimer. i know headcanons aren’t supposed to be entirely accurate, but hopefully i’m not too far off. if that makes sense! i’ve divided these into hudson headcanons, and headcanons of hudson and the reader. ࿇ author's note. didn't expect a request after writing eli's, and a 2nd part of one particular scenario/imagine is at work also. requests are still open! thank you for believing in my work.
Tumblr media
IN GENERAL...
࿇ Hudson knows how to handle his money. That might be a vague sentiment since financial and business matters are entirely different, but in my own notion, I do think he’s great at managing it. He’s always been shown as a good businessman with Ansan Public—operating bars and introducing systems that could easily hook potential customers. Apart from that, we’ve also seen how he had helped Hostel with their fruit business, which also boomed instantly.
࿇ He could be frugal with his money, but I’d like to think that apart from being knowledgeable when it comes to investing in his businesses, he would gladly enjoy the fruits of his labor. Hence, the luxury fits that highkey remind me of what Taesoo wears.
࿇ Hudson has his moments where his insecurity gets the best of him, but I do think that despite all that, he’s a very confident man.
࿇ He’s levelheaded in business, and in fights too. A lot of people might think he’s pompous because of how he dresses and how he only uses his right hand, but the trust in his abilities and in himself helps him carry out a certain type of aura.
IN DATING...
࿇ Hudson would introduce you to Taesoo first before letting you meet the members of Ansan Public. Sure, they probably heard of you once or twice, but they’ve never actually seen you. He holds Taesoo in the highest regard and so I feel like he would let his senior know who was making his heart beat like crazy.
࿇ And after he does, I think due to their close relationship, I think Taesoo might applaud his disciple for finding love in such a time considering Hudson is involved in gang activities. He’s a part of Allied, and the (gang) wars that he would be dealing with would be inveitable to escape from. So, for Hudson to still choose you and have you in these moments, Taesoo would be proud of him.
࿇ I don’t think he would fail to remind Hudson about the possible consequences though. He might ask him if he’s sure about it since he doesn’t want either him or you to get hurt in the process.
࿇ Hudson will defend you if by some chance he hears someone talking shit about you in public, especially in Ansan. That’s his turf, and if he hears one bad word come out of a measly underling’s mouth at you, he wouldn’t take it lightly.
࿇ He cares for you—deeply—and for him to hear such disrespect towards you would make him visibly upset.
࿇ If you two go on dates, he would focus on you, of course. But the businessman in him would lowkey check out the menu—the drinks, food—including the ambience of the place; the likes.
࿇ Though I do think he would enjoy it a lot more if you share the same interest—like improving the businesses he owns, or at least listen to him talk about it.
࿇ He would listen to your suggestions. You tried a new mocktail that you think would be a hit in his bars? He’s listing it down no matter how funky the name is. You saw online that there’s a new trending theme in karaoke rooms? Trust he will be renovating them. You have a suggestion for the Ansan Public reward system? Lay it down for him and he’ll see if it’s plausible.
࿇ It’s inevitable that you’ll be worried about him, and so he does in best in reassuring you that he will be fine. But if it comes to a point that he gets severely beaten up, he will listen to you while you let out your frustrations. He’s used to it—you aren’t.
࿇ He’s not the type who will spoil you with expensive gifts, but once he does get you something in that kind of bracket, it’s genuinely something that reminds him of you.
࿇ You’ll probably develop some kind of hand-care routine for him. Hudson might get a little worried about what you’d think about his rough hands, especially his right, but you wouldn’t really care while you rub lotion or whatever moisturizer you have for him.

finishing and posting a new scenario at 4am after work is not really ideal, but i got the mood for it after a few months of lacking. hopefully i get to have more time to write, or at least feel like writing. it's nice to get back into it, if that makes sense.
also lookism thursday today! i haven't been posting any thoughts about the recent chapters because i've honestly just been fucked (in a good way) just by looking at gitae. all coherent thoughts left my brain and i fear i have to reread the previous ones just to get ahold of myself.
hoping that all of you are in good spirits! i also got my lookism merch a few weeks ago. just a few photocards and gungoo ids, still made me happy nonetheless. sending good vibes!

Eli Jang x Single mother reader?
single parenting.
Tumblr media
࿇ summary. you meet another young, single parent in the form of eli jang. ࿇ pairing. eli x reader
࿇ warnings. talks about teenage pregnancy. shitty partner on reader's end. judgmental ahjummas. ࿇ disclaimer. fluff, nothing bad. it might get a little angsty, nothing heavy. this is not proofread as always lmao ࿇ author's note. i'd like to apologize for taking so long to write this request—it's been almost 2 months and i wanted to take my time, but that eventually led to me becoming busy with work. still, i hope this is something that you'd like, anon! i'm still working on my characterization/writing with eli.
Tumblr media
Raising a child was no easy task, and the fact that you were doing it alone was admirable.
Becoming a mother at a young age wasn’t in your timeline—preferring to finish school and getting a job afterwards, save enough to get married and for a family. But life throws away every single kind of challenges at a person, and to you, it was getting pregnant while still being a student.
It wasn’t the ideal situation to be in.
You were in a relationship when you got pregnant. You thought that you found true love at a young age, surrendering yourself to the naivety of romance only to find out that your then-boyfriend didn’t feel the same way. And so when you told him you got pregnant, he left your life almost immediately.
Despite that, even with the anxiety that wreaked havoc in your bones, you confessed to your parents that you were carrying life inside of you. When they asked you if you wanted to keep it, you said yes. They weren’t exactly the happiest—after all, they wanted you to continue enjoying life without any additional responsibilities, one that required a lifelong effort to do.
But they respected you, helped you even in raising the child. You were nothing but lucky to have the support of your parents and you didn’t want to take that for granted.
When your daughter grew and you did your best fulfilling duties in life, you thought that maybe it was time to enroll her in daycare.
Your little girl had befriended another kid at the daycare, Yenna, and a beautiful friendship had started to blossom between the two of them. You could see how the two of them had gotten along flawlessly, as if they were made to be best friends at such a young age—sharing toys and even snacks.
When you had fetched your daughter, you saw him.
With a sudden burst of confidence, you approached him. “You must be Yenna’s father!” you say excitingly, which startles the poor man. You mumbled a small apology before giving him a slightly nervous smile. “It’s nice to meet you,” you say, a lot more considerate of his feelings this time as you introduce yourself, offering a hand for him to shake.
On the other hand, Eli is stunned because he hasn’t really had the time to meet the other parents here or to be seen by several pairs of judging eyes. He had often preferred to take Yenna home a little later than usual, when he knows that he won’t be judged for being a father at such a young age.
That was also the plan today, but at the sight of you, Eli couldn’t help but stop for a bit.
He also introduces himself.
Eli Jang, he says. “You must be her mom,” he starts the conversation, attempting to respond to you confidently, but his timidness takes over and you can’t help but chuckle.
It was adorable, you think.
“Yenna really likes hanging around with your daughter,” he adds, hoping to continue the conversation with you as he held Yenna in his arms.
He was a lot taller than you so he cranes his neck downwards to look at you. There, Eli can’t help but notice your soft features, his own eyes softening as he recognized the hints of tiredness etched in some of the edges of your visage. Parenthood, he thinks.
Eli can relate because he knows how hard it is to raise a child especially when he knew you both became parents at a young age.
Hard is an understatement. He remembers how his nights were composed of an infant’s wails, not knowing how to calm a newborn Yenna down because nobody was there to help him. He took all the steps on his own, though eventually when Hostel got together again, Warren, Sally, along with the others, had helped him raise Yenna.
It’s easier now, but it never really is.
You nod enthusiastically, liking how he’s striking up a conversation with you. You didn’t really like some of the mothers in this daycare—only a few had given you advice in navigating the life of a parent. “They’re always glued together, right? It makes me happy that they’re both having fun together,” you share, holding your daughter’s hand as she giggles at the sight of Yenna being carried.
“I was actually worried that she wouldn’t make a friend,” you add with a nervous chuckle. “But seeing how she and Yenna interacts, it makes me happy.”
There, Eli finds a comforting presence in you, his mouth deciding to move on its own before his brain can even process what he was doing.
But it was welcomed—you were a welcomed presence.
And so after that day, you and Eli had gotten closer. Both of you no longer feared of being judged by the other parents in the daycare because what was the point? You both had each other to confide in—to rely on.
It came to a point where he introduced you to the people at Hostel, where they welcomed you happily—lowkey teasing Eli at how you noticed they were pushing the two of you together, which made him blush as red as a tomato.
It also came to a point that you had introduced him to your parents, who were elated that you had found a friend in Eli—they didn’t really believe that the two of you were just friends. They both see how you look at each other, though they don’t really tell you.
Feelings eventually come into play, and Eli realizes that he had fallen for you.
The last time he had felt love was with Heather. You made him feel loved, accepted, cared for and understood. You knew of his past and didn’t judge him—asked simple questions to get even more clarity, but after that, you still treated him the same. A simple take care made his heart race, how you remind him that he needs to come home safely because it’s not just Yenna and Hostel waiting for him, but you and your daughter too.
It makes his throat dry, has his stomach feeling like it was a mess from how anxious he was feeling.
Was he ready for this again? Were you ready for this again?
He knew of your failed love life too, but were you really willing to risk it again?
For him, of all people?
“Do you want to try?”
He turns his head at your question at such a pace that you were afraid that he was going to get whiplash. The gesture makes you laugh and the sound makes the tips of Eli’s ears become red—he thinks it’s a little silly that a simple thing could make him flustered, then again, you did laugh because of him.
A win is a win, right?
“What?” he asks, finally speaking. His voice almost cracks, in disbelief that you asked the question in the first place. “Try what?” he queries again, though he knows what you mean—you know that he knows.
But you let it pass because you know how nervous he gets.
“Try dating again,” you shrug as if it’s not a big deal—it is.
Eli thinks that it’s not a bad idea. And while there is a tiny, evil voice in the back of his head that says he’ll only get you in trouble—that he’ll only bring you misfortune because of the life he lives—but a bigger part of him knows that he deserves this.
That he deserves you.
That he deserves to feel that type of affection from someone who he knows that will stay by his side—who loves him wholeheartedly. He thinks about Heather and his initial hesitance about wanting to date again because he truly did love his bereaved ex, but Eli also knows that Heather would be elated that he had found another one to love.
You knew he had so much love to give, and so you want to experience that yourself.
“That doesn’t sound like a bad idea,” he says quietly, looking at you.
“Yeah?’ you ask, chuckling, reaching out to hold his large hand, intertwining your fingers with his.
“I think so too,” you add, resting your head on his shoulder as the two of you watch Yenna and your daughter play with the other family members of Hostel.

Jake Kim x Reader: Growing Old
G/N. Soft. So soft. Some years post-Lookism. Masterlists
Tumblr media
Jake catches himself in the mirror.
In his mind's eye, he's the Leader of Big Deal. Running around in the trademark suit and Sinu's signature coat. The one who everyone calls Boss with respect and affection. A mere nineteen year old, trying to survive.
But his reflection betrays him.
Even as the days drag, the years have slipped by. He's no longer the teenager trying to desperately make it out alive. Training all day and night to keep his reflexes fast and mind sharp.
No, that was a lifetime ago.
Now, he has noticed the wrinkles around his eyes. The beginnings of pepper starting to dot the hair around his temples. His body is softer than he remembers.
"I'm so out of shape," He mutters, and that catches your attention.
You can't help but chortle at his own scathing remark.
"What are you talking about?"
"Look."
And Jake poses. A little for him, a lot for you.
Twirling this way and that. Pushing his stomach out with deliberate poor posture. Flexing his arms and back with you chuckling and rolling your eyes. Checking out his own ass, his once best feature, and grabbing handfuls, as your giggles turn to full on cackles.
He's not out of shape, far from it. With age and comfort, his body is a little softer however. He's no longer living on a knife's edge. He has enough money and time to look after himself. He has the privilege of you caring for him.
Giving him a gentle shove, you tell Jake he’s being ridiculous. He's still as handsome as ever.
(The neighbourhood ajummas like to tell you all about it. If only I was 40 years younger, they like to say, grinning salaciously at each other like cheeky youths.
The Jake Kim charm has never waned. You doubt it ever will.
You catch teenagers double-taking at him. Even children gravitate towards your golden retriever of a man.)
"You don't think I'm out of shape?" he turns to you, a hint of vulnerability in his face.
“Of course not.”
You notice that the scars on his lips and nose are barely visible anymore. In this light, you have to squint to look for them.
Back in the early days, when your romance was just blossoming, you both assumed there was a looming expiration date. After all, he was a gang leader first and foremost and everything else second. Growing old, when danger lurked behind every corner, always came with a question mark; growing old together seemed like a fantasy.
Yet through blood, sweat and tears and after fighting tooth and nail, Jake has managed to make it out alive.
You both did.
Sometimes, Jake thinks about his past, tinged with nostalgia and almost dream-like. A distant memory, a million miles away from his present. He didn’t think this sort of life, this sort of happiness and contentment was possible for someone like him.
There's a constant undercurrent of disbelief. That this isn't real and could all be taken away from him in a second. It's almost too good to be true-
You interrupt his spiralling thoughts, leaning up to press a kiss on his lips and anchoring him to reality.
He grins when you tell him all about how he is still the hot topic of the ajummas, and that even their daughters and granddaughters take notice of him.
Most of all, you tell him that you love growing old together and you’re glad you’re not teenagers anymore but you will always be idiots.
Jake softens, eyes crinkling at the edges and he pulls you into his arms.

one life update that i'm excited about is that i should hopefully get the lookism merch i ordered next week. 🥹
they're honestly a bit more pricey since i didn't order directly from ptj's site (and the shop i bought it from had admin fees), but i think it's a good reward since i've been considerably busy from adjusting with my current jobs.
i'm just excited to have them! i've been meaning (and wondering) where i'd get lookism merch at a much accessible store and i found one. this is all the motivation i have right now though lmao
i do miss writing too and i've yet to finish the eli x reader request in my drafts. jesus, that's taking way too long for my liking. anyway, lookism thursday later! something to look forward about.
i hope everyone's doing okay! the week's ending soon. :)

lookism 553 spoilers
again, these are just my thoughts and ramblings about the new chapter. i've been waiting for this since last week as i've been meaning to see how the fight between gitae and jinrang would go.
that, and amongst other things.
feel free to scroll if you're uninterested! and if for some reason you are interested, i'd love to hear your thoughts as well.
i honestly just found out on twitter (or x, however you call it) that jake was in this chapter. korean webtoon, if i'm not mistaken, releases first so i was lowkey hyped when i found out he was present. kind of worried for his well-being also considering gitae is merciless, but i don't want to dwell on this so early as i'd like to go through jinrang first.
i'm really, really devastated for jinrang and his brothers. their trio had grown on me in such a short time and i can't believe they had to go through the most gut-wrenching scenarios after reuniting. after sang baek's passing, jinrang and jungseok didn't even have the time to grieve as they were faced with death himself.
jungseok's initial reaction—punching gitae with tears in his eyes, was completely valid. i can't imagine the hurt he felt seeing that sang baek passed in the hands of this man—to lose a brother, his family, to not even properly mourn for him because the feeling of revenge was too strong. it was an attempt to fight back for what him and jinrang had just lost, but at the same time, this feeling had costed him his life too. i'm assuming that gitae had axed him off too—and for him to call out for jinrang like that.. i wonder if at one point jinrang had felt powerless hearing his brothers call for him like that?
grief.. anger.. madness.. devastation.. helplessness these are probably understatements to what jinrang was feeling during that fight. but he never relents—his first instinct is to always protect.
and so this is where overcome comes into play, rather where gapryong comes into the picture yet again.
gapryong said that in order to achieve the type of power he has, one must overcome. but in his conversation with jinrang, he warned him to not master that type of power as it's sad. and now we see why, because it completely consumes you.
in jinrang's backstory, we've seen him as that hyungnim who always protected everyone back even when they were kids. he always puts himself first to protect those he cares about. we've seen that with how he brutally ended dalyoung because of what he had done to sang baek and jungseok. we've seen that with how he never hesitated to come forward to protect those two again in a fight against gitae. we've seen that with how he had essentially protected busan from the hands of the late, former king.
in the fight with gitae, gapryong's words echoes in his ears. a warning about using overcome—how death awaits after it consumes you. it breaks jinrang's arm due to the intensity and strength of his fist to the point it was almost like gap's strength—gitae recognizing it was a sign, of course. i don't think jinrang cared that much because even if an axe was swung on his arm, he continued that punch straight towards gitae.
which says a lot about his will to protect. jinrang also mentions how it's okay if his body burns away because he had already given his soul to those two, pertaining to sang baek and jungseok. and that literally made me want to tear up because those two were his life.
and although i wanted to believe that jinrang would've had the upper hand, ptj had greatly shown in the past few chapters how monstrous gitae really is. not just in size, but in his brutal strength too. he's terrifying because he's so used to fights in this intensity.
i do remember when i was picking up lookism again months ago, gitae had given me an eerie feeling for what he had done to jichang before he had dethroned him. turns out that was quite literally the tip of the iceberg. that man had so much else to offer in terms of being so wicked.
we also knew that james had a streak of amputating something from the first generation kings, but i didn't expect to see it from gitae this chapter. i fear when he threatened jinrang that his head was next, he wasn't joking with that—at all. which is terrifying.
i also didn't expect to see jinrang's whole arm just being hung on gitae's shoulder like that. says a lot about him, to be honest. a real barbaric man who shows no pity—who doesn't hesitate to incite fear because that's how he survived.
one thing that i almost screamed at was goo sitting on daniel and warning him that he basically doesn't want him gone because: a) they had a cup of coffee together, and b) goo indirectly telling daniel that gun doesn't want to see him, or at least be aware of the fact that he died because he was careless enough to face gitae kim.
it made me realize that while goo has his own ambitions, had his own fair share of moments where he himself amputated someone (in the manager kim manhwa, if i remembered correctly), he still values things like that. i mean, i know he still thinks about gun despite it all, but this surprised me still. also the fact that he doesn't like gitae says so much? maybe that's just me though.
okay! the last part of this chapter was basically jake appearing, having a talk with gitae, and me being scared shitless lmao. jake's last appearance was in chapter 519 and i was kind of iffy whether or not he'd show up in this chapter. in my head, he and gitae would have a 1 on 1 once all the stuff in busan was over, but then again people have also speculated that he would come in busan considering there's just a lot of kim family lore going around.
i find it humorous how gitae didn't recognize him at first? that lowkey made me laugh because out of all the half-siblings, jake was technically the only one that passed his test as they both disliked their father.
but i fear it's going to take a turn in their next conversation because we're finally seeing the bad side and good side of gapryong kim. it also doesn't help that jake is the child that almost physically looks like gapryong when he was younger? so i'm not sure how jake would survive in a fight with gitae unless he masters or acquires his father's strength; and how gitae would react at jake saving people which would probably remind him of the old man and trigger his severe daddy issues.
jake is there to save people though. i do wonder if he visited minseon again to get more knowledge about his half-brother.. or who contacted him about this. i'm not sure whether i missed something too.
anyway, i think that's it from me! there's always so much to look forward to in the next chapters. i know a lot of people are a lot more interested in each characters' strength whenever there are fights around, and there's nothing wrong about that, i completely respect that—but there's a different type of understanding in the lore when you dive a little deeper into it.
